Hey friends, surprise, it's bonus episode time. This is a short and sweet check-in where we're talking about everything we've been watching, listening to, randomly consuming, or just wanting to analyze more of this week. No deep dives, no notes, no pressure, just vibes. Think of this as us catching you up while standing in line for coffee or scrolling at midnight. We'll hit the highlights, the hot takes, and maybe a few why did we watch this moments? Alright, let's get into what's been living rip-free in our heads this time. I'm ready. Go. The Madison. It is a Taylor Sheridan show. Okay. So originally it was pitched as a spin-off of Yellowstone. It's not really, it's like still in that universe. So characters could somewhere meet, but it's not officially like a spin-off. Gotcha. It is so good. Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Patrick J. Adams. I don't know the the girls that play the daughters in the episode in the show. They're I love them. It's got Matthew Fox. Um it is so good. And it's like it's got the same language that I don't care to listen to. But okay, so it's got that. It does not have the the the dark aspects. The like, you know, sometimes the yellows don't have the dark and just fighting and just oh at each other all the time. This doesn't. But it okay, there is like some going at each other, but it's hilarious. Oh wow like it's comical because it's one family. It's like one family that's dealing with this. It is so good though. Like there's some comical aspects to it. Oh, sure there's some love, there's fighting because it's family drama, but it's like it's it's to me, it's like relatable family drama fighting. It's not fighting over the family land that you're trying to say, like, my gosh, I I don't relate to you. But I love Jellystone, but no, no, it is so good. I the the last three episodes just were released today, well, okay, Saturday. And so I haven't watched those obviously yet. But the first three, it's like a slow show, but not slow in a negative way. No, it's like slow but keeps you drawn in, but it's just like you don't feel tense after watching. It's just and at the end you go, Don't I love that? It will I don't have a Paramount Plus subscription, but you're just gonna have to like take some PTO and I will too, and we'll just sit and watch everything that you can't watch.

SPEAKER_00

We need to do that, but then I'll probably be out of work for the next like two to three months if we really took the time.

SPEAKER_01

I have no PDF for that. I've already put it all in for the year, but that is like the major thing I've watched lots of things this week, but the Madison was my favorite thing I've watched this week. It was let me double check my list, but it was definitely my favorite. What else did I watch though?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know that this is my favorite thing that I watched, but I sent you snaps and I have been asking you about it, and I'm waiting on the last one to drop this coming up week. Yes, the age of attraction. Oh my gosh. Oh my word. Between some of the train wrecks that are going on and I so there I I don't normally get into too many reality shows, okay? I love them. I like some, but I don't like all. But for whatever reason, this one was intriguing enough that I watched it and I was like, okay. And I'm not gonna say too much because I know you haven't seen it, and if you do watch it, I don't want to spoil anything, but it's some of it is like, oh, no, no, no, no. These people should not be together, and they they know it, but they are not willing to admit it. And it's one of those where like you're watching the ship going down and you're waiting on it, but it's like until it happens, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. And there's been a couple of like just I mean, I don't have words. I mean, they will make a show about anything. Oh, they will, it's insane. I mean, I kind of can't believe how much they actually I'll give it this. So they do the first episode, they pair off, and I'm pretty sure that there's a stipulation in it that you have to be at least 10 years age difference in order to continue on the show because they end up showing some of the people that they don't include in the show that met and were interested in someone because do you know anything about it? Sort of okay. Basically, they drop all these people in to a space and allow this speed dating situation to take or to commence, and then whoever you're interested in, nobody knows your age, you're not allowed to tell your age until you go to the commitment ceremony, which is just like some where is the commitment ceremony later? I don't know, there's a terminology for it, but you you go or the promise room. I think it's a promise room. My gosh, what cult are we joining? No, so you go to the promise room to exchange these rings that you wear that you're like both interested in, and you wear it on your right hand. I know, I know.

SPEAKER_01

Who came up with this concept?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know, I don't know, but the the point is that you can't necessarily leave this relationship for somebody else later, like other shows, a different variation of some of that where now you're like, okay, how much of a connection can you really have with somebody if you don't know how old they are, and you're not allowed to have all these preconceived judgments or you know build a thought off of that. So then they go to this promise room where they basically have to decide like one person asks the other, and then you both meet because some some of them turn them down. Yeah, like nope, not for me. So some people had to leave and like some of them do, some of them don't. If you said no, you had the opportunity to go back, and if you had a connection with somebody else, you could go ask them to go to the promise room. But this, I know, I know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like the name, the terminology.

SPEAKER_00

I don't either, but just just hear me out, okay? Go into the promise room. They exchange their rings, and then at that point, it's like, okay, so how old are you? And some of the reactions were like, Oh, I was not expecting two of them to say what how old they were. But my the whole point I was trying to get at, and I'm sorry, for what it's worth, I think you have to be at least 10 years apart in in age difference in order to continue on the show because the people who were not that far apart in age, they showed a clip of them and they're like this they're disclosing their ages, but you never see them again. And they're not really even included in any of the scenes that make up the first episode. So it's like, okay, well, that kind of sucks that they made a connection and they didn't get to pursue it. Mm-hmm. But it's led by oh, I don't remember him. Big Val. Yeah. And his wife.

SPEAKER_01

And they have an age gap.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

She gets on my nerves. She gets on most of America's nerves. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I'm just she does not have a very appealing personality, and it is she says lots of things that really offend people, actually. Well, her delivery needs some work. I mean, she honestly gives the cult leader vibes, if if I'm telling the truth.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, stop giving some people platforms.

SPEAKER_00

When I saw, I was like, I recognize you, but I didn't watch that show.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't he date he was on there with what's her face from he was on The Bachelorette, he was on another season of The Bachelorette, he was on Bachelor in Paradise, and then he was The Bachelor.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And I knew he was The Bachelor and I knew he had been on The Bachelorette, but it was wasn't it Hannah's? No.

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh, he did um Andy and Caitlin Bristow.

SPEAKER_00

Which bachelor was it that he like chose someone and then later changed his mind?

SPEAKER_01

Several have done it. The first one was Jason Mesnick. Jason Mesnick chose, he had two women, Melissa Rycroft, who was on Dance with the Stars, and she was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. And he had Molly Molly. I don't remember her main name. He chose Melissa after the final rose, he broke up with Melissa and chose Molly. Molly and him are still married and have a child. Like they're one of my favorite couples on the batch. That's right.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think it knows.

SPEAKER_01

Um Ari did it. Ari, I don't know how to say his last name. He did it. Uh Peter Weber, the airplane pilot, he did it too. Several have done it.

SPEAKER_00

I just vividly remember, I don't I don't know if it was maybe Ari. Who it he chose whoever at the final row ceremony, and they're like apparently separated, but they're meeting up at some I think it's like a tropical place where he's like about to basically break it off because he's choosing whoever he didn't.

SPEAKER_01

Ari yeah, it was Ari did that. They like filmed it at this house with that he did he broke up with Becca. That sounds those names. But Peter also did it like it was at a location that the franchise set up. Speaking of though, I watched so tomorrow night, Sunday night, was supposed to be the premiere of the new Bachelorette season. They canceled it. They literally ABC canceled the season, pulled it, will not air it. Of what now? The Bachelorette. Why they they speaking of quit giving people platforms, um so you know the show The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?

SPEAKER_00

I think I've heard of it, but I haven't watched it.

SPEAKER_01

Taylor Frankie Paul, they asked her to be The Bachelorette. Three years ago, when season one of Secret Lives and Mormon Wives is uh airing, the first episode ends with police coming to her house. She is drunker than a skunk. Neighbors have called the police because they hear screaming and they're afraid there's some domestic abuse happening. Oh dear. He says she threw a chair at him, all this stuff. The show the show had to like stop. So the episode ends because we see body cam footage. Like it's not the production of the secret line. No, right. They had to stop filming because of all this. The next episode picks up like nine months later when they could come back. Okay. So I'm saying all that to say, just this week, a few days ago, it comes out that she has now been involved in February of 2026. That was 2023, February 2026. There now is a new domestic violence altercation between her and him. And this week he released video footage from that night in 2023, and the chair that was thrown hit her daughter. Oh no. It was a metal stool, like a bar stool. Yeah. So then ABC says we're not doing it. It's it's throwing the internet and up into arms because half of the world is like on her side. Bachelor Nation is pretty divided because like the people who have been on the show, because they're like, we're trying to support her, but then some are like, what did you expect? Like it's it is yeah, it's pretty crazy. But I did, I was brought that up because there last week I did watch there was an episode before it was gonna start airing. It was called Before the First Rose, and it was like all of the not all most of the former Bachelorette's all came together just to like give her advice and talk to her, and I watched it because I just loved some of those women. Trista, the first one, love her. Anyways, I watched that. It was a waste of my time now because it's okay. Not watching the season, but anyways, that was Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, other than that, I think I mean I've watched a bunch of different stuff.

SPEAKER_01

I don't I'm not thinking of anything that has been like Well, the Madison is that for me that's like, oh everybody go watch it. Because Michelle Pfeiffer is excellent in it. I'm trying to stay away from the word phenomenal. She's excellent. It is so she's so good.

SPEAKER_00

I did find Netflix just they've just released a few documentaries. One was um it's not the same, it's not the same stuff. There's one on the red hot chili peppers. That was pretty cool. Um, I mean, I really I enjoy some of those that are about music's music, people, artists, all that, but the other one, I'm sure that my mom will watch it if she has not yet. Oh, and I have another one just like that, and then we'll wrap it. Okay. Um there's one on the plastic detox, the microplastic detox. But it was an interesting thing to watch. It basically was primarily tracking or following some couples that have been fighting infertility and the potential for microplastics get in your system like lending to that. Um and a fact a couple of them in the series, they end up quite successfully having kids by the end of it, and you get to see their their babies at the end, which was I'm not gonna lie, it had me a little bit in tears at the end. So just saying it was moving. Um, but the last thing I was gonna bring up is the newest season of Virgin River, which I know you haven't watched, so there's no point in going into too much detail. But man, I really wish you would because I really have some things and some thoughts that I'd like to say, and I can't because you haven't watched it.

SPEAKER_01

I haven't yet. I haven't, but I mean I will. It's on my Netflix list. I really think that if you gave it a chance. Oh, there I have no doubt. Like it's on my list. It's just yeah, I haven't gotten to it yet.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I have mixed feelings about several things that happened in the season, and I'm just I gotta keep the worms in the can on this one. I can't say anything. You do, you do.
