AndyAfter what's felt like a eternity. The Jersey Football Podcast is back. As always, I'm your host, Andy Shepherd, and I'm joined by my side Kit Robbie Whitaker. Robbie, how you doing?
RobbieI'm all good, Andy. It feels like a lifetime since we're last on, so yeah, we've got a lot to get through, but good to catch up with you, mate. You all right?
AndyYeah, all good mate. All good. I've been traveling a lot in the last few weeks, so it's good to be back in Jersey. And just in time, actually for my favorite time of the season, just when we're getting into the business end and there's so much going on in Jersey football mate. You look at the premiership, you've got three teams at the top of the premiership all kinda have it in their own hands where they could potentially win it. You've got three teams at the bottom of the league, all potentially, and amongst it for relegation, you're going into prem two. You've got very little between Rosell and AKI to win that league. Championship won. You've got some won very close to winning and even the 30 fives, you've got a point between St. Cls and Wonders at the top of that. And then that's before we look at the Bills bill, right in amongst it, in the playoff race with, within their league. So it's, you said, you know what Robbie, you said months ago. And that you thought this could be one of the most exciting seasons I've ever heard, and I think I'm gonna channel my Alan McCoist and say, I have to tell you, Robbie, you're absolutely right. It's just right. I love this. Even when I played, I used to get like a second win. This time it, this time of the season, you just get ready to go again. It's where everything gets decided. And it's just so exciting across all the leagues, isn't it?
RobbieIt is, mate it's the classic business end of the season, isn't it? Where games are coming thick and fast as me and you will know 'cause of our fixture list coming up. But every game is now crucial because there's less games to make up if you do drop points, so yeah, cracking time for the season
AndyAnd it's a time where performances don't matter, isn't it? It's all about that result. You can
Robbiehundred
Andypercent
Robbiejust,
Andyyeah, scrape a win with a goal or somebody's backside or something. It doesn't matter. As long as you get that line. And I think we're. Seeing teams do that now as well, where that's the focus, but yeah, it's so exciting and really got load to look forward to.
RobbieYeah. You'd take however many games left, what? Eight games left? Eight one nil wins in the 90th minute winner, wouldn't you?
AndyYeah, of course. Course you So do you know what I, I'm not gonna get into, won't get into it too much in this podcast. I just hope it's won on the pitch by players. And I think you know what I mean by that. I hope that all the competitions, I hope it's players that. Win the games, make mistakes because I, that's what we want to see.
RobbieYeah, definitely. We don't want anything else through games being scrapped, bad refereeing or, anything like that. We want it fair and square and the best team at the end should win the league or win the trophies.
AndyYeah. So when, the last time we were, last time we were on the, with us with some great stories. There's always good values on Great Farm, but it's just the two of us tonight. Gonna have a review of the last couple of weeks games that have been played and then we're also gonna have a look forward to what we've got coming up both in local football and the bills. And then on top of all that, we've got the small matter on Friday night, we've got the under 21 RA team. We're going to hear from Jazzy Manager Jack Cannon as preparations for the game. And I, a fully packed podcast, loads of great stuff and I'm looking forward to discussing that actually. 'cause there's some great stuff in here, Robbie.
RobbieYeah. Excellent mate. I can't wait.
AndyYeah, so going straight and we're just going back. I know we've been a while since we've had the podcast. We're not gonna back, go back and cover every game. It's just, we'd be here all night trying to do that. But going back, just, to the 28th of February. So just at the end of last month in Premiership one there was a full card of games. We had the, in the JFA cup in the quarter final was Madeira Nelson at Clement five. I would, wasn't at that game unfortunately, 'cause I was traveling, but I was getting updates. Took a while for the boys to get the breakthrough and then they just, I think they imposed themselves in the game, took control. A double for bur the silver. A double for cow hees puts us through to the semis and we'll play either wanderers or yourselves, Robbie. Although it's the end of this month, I think when you play Wonders in the Cups, was still quite a while.
RobbieYeah, we keep saying about the fixtures and everything, it is a wild to wait, but not a good result for your boys. Like nice, comfortable five nil and a cup game. So you just, it doesn't really matter about how you play. You just wanna get in the next round, don't you?
AndyYeah. And I think you see with Madeira in particular, I think the, if the, if they're in the game they can make it difficult for you. I remember when you guys played them up at Kennedy, certainly the first half of the game, they were very competitive. So a goal either side halftime for you, allowed you to get that bit of that of a distance and then you can go on and make sure they win, but certainly they can make it difficult for you. So a good result for that. Pleased with that. On the same day though it was, and This's a massive result, mate. It was umbrella ads 4 1 5.
RobbieYeah.
AndyBut that, this is huge for wonderful effort. Excuse me for one. Allows 'em to pull clear to the bottom too, Patrick for Jamie Buroughs, including the winner in the 86th minute. And that pulled them three points. Cla St. Peter having played a game more. I think that, I think it's difficult to overstate how big that was because they. We're really struggling. We went a long time without winning again. They started well, and they went a long time without picking up some results. So I'm sure Dan and the guys up there were really pleased with that. And we'll come on to the most recent result as well. But they'll be really pleased with the last couple of weeks they've had.
RobbieYeah we were seeing their results come in, weren't we? And talking about it and saying they just can't seem to buy a result anywhere. So to get one like that in that fashion is phenomenal for them. And yeah, when we touch on the next result for them, it gave them a bit of, or a lot of confidence and yeah, it'll be an exciting end of the season for them.
AndyAnd you looking, we talk about some things, that's what it takes. Just a, an absolute barnstormer. Again, nine, nine goals a win in the last few minutes. And sometimes it's just whatever it takes to get over the line makes a difference. We also had a bit of a shock result. I put the, it was Jersey Wonders two groove I two, all four goals came the final 20 minutes. And that's a result that really kinda opens things up a wee bit. Wonders, I've still got the benefit of points on the board. But both yourselves and Clements, I've got some games in hand and fixtures against them but which makes it really tight and the fact we've all still got to play each other as well does make it really exciting. So wonder is certainly in the box seat still but a result like that just ask a few questions of them, don't you think?
RobbieYeah, it does. And by all accounts are worldy by Jake Baker. I think he scored straight from center after Wonder is going to one up. Yeah. Great result. We were glued to it 'cause we'd played St. Peter's that day down at Springy. So we finished and we were waiting for that result to come in. So we were delighted to hear when it went. Two, two. Yeah.
AndyYeah. I must admit it was a I didn't even know the game was on, to be honest. I was catching up on our game through a WhatsApp group. But apart from that, I wasn't sure what was happening or who was who was playing that day. So it was a pleasant surprise. As I say, still a long way to go, a lot from her perspective, a lot of work to do to get ourselves back into it. But it gives us a, gives us all a little bit of hope, but Wonder is built on that. Went midweek. The beat St. Peter three one. A strong performance from them. Three first half goals, got the job done. A damaging defeat for St. Peter will following St. Juan's win.
RobbieYeah. You mean a groove? I win built on them. I meant I'm not wanderers, but yeah. Great
Andyresults. Sorry.
RobbieGood result for Ville. Tough one for St. Peters to take, especially like you say with some one getting there three points. But like I said, it's gonna be make an exciting end of the season.
AndyYeah. So I think we have spoken, we did speak earlier on the season a couple with, a couple months ago where one seem to be struggling. St. Peter have loads of games in hand. They just felt, we were looking at thinking. Points and the board could be important here. Peter need to take points for some of these games. And they've not done as much as they probably wanted to, but again, it keeps it exciting, keeps it interesting. We're then going to 5th of March again. I put Ken a huge game. And I'll let you. Pick up on that one, Robbie. A disappointing turn, old defeat to Jersey Wanderers. It was a bit of a war of attrition and from what I hear, really tough conditions, but Wanderers managed to get over the line. What was your perspective on it?
RobbieYeah. I've spoke to a few people about it, and the hardest thing was picking the lads up. I said to them afterwards that I expected a result like this to come because as a coaching staff, as a club, we've, absolutely drained every last bit of energy out the lads. And with all the games, a hard games, the comebacks, the, we were what. Three nail down against wonders, we come back five, four, then we had Madeira, then we were two nail down against St. Peter's, come back four, two. So I just thought it was all catching up with us a bit and that will show in our next result as well. But I thought wonders, maybe just edged it. Two nil looks a bit more controlling than. What it actually was. Having said that, we didn't really lay a glove on their goal. I can't remember a shot on target, which is really disappointing. But yeah wonders looked good value. They scored at good times. They got 'em quite quick. Jamie Morin, I think was brilliant again in the middle of the park and yeah, I thought we did enough to draw it, shall we say? Definitely not win it, but yeah, maybe Nick a draw, but it is what it is. Tune no defeat. So we need to bounce back.
AndyYeah, I think the lad actually corbert, they got the first goal for them. He's, I dunno if he spends some time on the bench 'cause he's writing his match report before he goes on. But he is the, he's the journalist in the JP He doesn't seem to start many games, but he scores on, he scores loads of big goals for them. He is, he's obviously scored that one against you. He scored against us a couple of times. He just seems to pop up. At really important points in big games and get goals and without, sometimes you think he's not really affecting the game that much, but then he'll pop up with something. It's such a good quality to have.
RobbieOh,
Andywhere it can affect the game like that.
RobbieYeah, definitely. Chris and Quail are managing that, that squad, 'cause they've got a big squad, they're managing it so well for minutes and all the players and I think that's testament through Archie who can, not necessarily start, but still come on and make a difference.
AndyHe is, and yeah, he's one. You look like he'd probably go anywhere else in the league and probably start. He's a, he is a good player fair play to him for keeping that squad happy. Yeah. And another goal by Casey Nixon, who's a player I really like. He's, he reminds me a lot. It's actually quite interesting watching the similarities between him and Harry Scott. And I know Harry's maybe a couple years older. But Casey, you look up even across the course of this season's, filled out a bit. And he's a really good player as well, so they've got a lot of talent in that squad.
RobbieYeah I like Casey a lot. But he just glides across a pitch, doesn't he? With the ball. He seems quicker sometimes with the ball and without his touch is everything about him. I just think he's a class act.
AndyYeah. And then of course, as has been the path for the course this season. We've had two games in 48 hours for teams. So you guys went again on Saturday a two tube draw up its umbrella ads, and I think you look in the second game in less than 48 hours, really, you go two a up and is it maybe a lack of legs to get over the line, but you've gotta say maybe as well, strong mentality, umbrella to still stay in that game and come back as well. I was, it was just a bit too much in terms of the intensity.
RobbieYeah, I think it was a mixture of everything. It's obviously the physicality caught up with us. We tried making a couple little changes. I thought bad refereeing as well, if I'm totally honest, for both teams. Not just for St. Paul's club linesman, which as well doesn't help. So yeah, it was just a perfect recipe for disaster to be honest. Two, Neil up and cruising and then they get a sloppy goal back through late and I thought could have been avoided. And then they get awarded a penalty, which. In my eyes was never a penalty, but I'm always gonna say that. But even like my players and Tom com Galvez, who's an honest player, even saying it was not a penalty. So yeah, it's disappointing, but the points a point. So better than a defeat. That's about the biggest plus I can take from it.
AndyYeah. I think sometimes mental tiredness is just as difficult as physical time, isn't it?
RobbieSometimes even harder, isn't it? 'cause
AndyYeah,
RobbieYour touch goes your concentration, the, the scanning or anything that you need to do, you'd let that slip once and it could cost you and yeah, it cost us that game, unfortunately.
AndyAnd you've been on such a good run as well. You've got a young squad. Sometimes it's, there isn't that experience there is there say we've been here before, we've had a painful result. We need to reset. Go again. You only get that experience. It, don't you?
RobbieYeah. This will do. The lads good. The two nil against Wonders will do them good. And then not being able to get three points a following week will do them good in the long run. So I just hope we put it all right the next time we play, which is probably, yeah. Tonight or something crazy like that with the fixtures.
AndyYeah, so we, we mentioned earlier on also on Saturday with Madeira Nelson won too. And again, this is huge. I think that puts Madeira 11 points behind one 11 points. We do have two games in hand. So it's not quite as big, but. Made who are, have struggled all season to pick up points. You've got a, it's a big ask, I think from first of all to win those two games and then pick up the points needed to, to catch up. So I think it's a real tough as for them. But so one are now also six points clear to St. Peter having played. They've got, they've played a game more. And they do still have to play them, which is on the 11th of April. And again, this is what we were talking about. There's so many sort of subplots to the season, Robbie where I think so, so one now don't play until the 7th of April, and then they play St. Peter on the 11th of April. And I think by the time Peter get to that game, they'll have played three games more. And someone will. So as much as it's incredible. They, as much as you think they've gotta win their game in hand which they do, they've got to beat someone. But they also, they're gonna need to get other points on the board. They can't, they're gonna have to get points on the board from somewhere because you've gotta think, if they don't, they win their game in hand. The beat one, the level on points. So one just need a draw against anyone. So it's. It's interesting. It'll be interesting to see how Chris approaches it. But again, these are the games y'all want to be involved in, don't you? The ones that, that, that really count?
RobbieYeah. No, no one said rubber games, do they?
AndyYeah a massive win for Dan and isn't one team. And going back to what we said right at the start, it's the time of the season, but the only thing that matters is winning games. And they've done it. They've won the last two, two huge results and probably done themselves, the world of the good. Again, Saturday we had a rematch that was Grovel versus Wanderers. This time down at Grovel, we finished Groove one, Wanderers two. Wanderers really ground out those three points. Given that it was their second game in 48 hours as well. A big ask. They had that luxury that you perhaps didn't, where they've got that big squad. The, we spoke about the difficulty in keeping all those players happy. Here's the benefit. The other side of that coin is that they were able to rotate a little bit. They were able to change the stack 11 and give players that 45 minutes an hour and then. Give 'em a rest. But they very much I watched the last 20, 25 minutes in the game and they really did have to dig in. They scored too early. Goals Ville pulled one back on the stroke at halftime, but the, I'd say the last, probably last 20 minutes or so, it was almost all Ville. We had a couple of really good chances, the young Jack Kemp and Golf for Wanderers pulled off two really good saves, I would say. There was a very strong shout for the Ville penalty. I have to realize. Oh, really? And I was surprised. I was surprised it wasn't given. I don't know if Chris and Sam will agree with me but it, from where I was, it looked very much like it should have been a penalty, but. Some things they go for you, some things they go against you, so I'm sure wonder will take that. But when you saw them at the end of the game, the celebrations, they knew just how big a win that was and how much they dug in to get it. They were also missing a number of players that had Robbie Scott and Harry Scott were stuck in Dubai. I hope they're back now. But certainly after they're not, I hope they get back safely and there's no issues with that. War is a bit of a crazy place at the moment and they also had a few players out injured. A really big win and a really, probably an important one, I think for 'em as well, given the drop points against Ville just before,
Robbieyeah. Massive win that, could see that the game got played for the full 90 minutes because this was the replay, wasn't it, of the water log incident. Yeah,
AndyIt was.
RobbieSo yeah, so if you look at it that way, three points for wonder is, they were, what, five won up when that game got called. So yeah, it's one of them, but massive three points for them extends their lead, le lead at the top. So gives us in your lot, a bit more of a mountain to climb.
AndyYeah, definitely. And in the last game friend won. On Saturday, this was actually a Wewe Cup semifinal. It was St. Clemens versus Northerners from a four Win for St. Clemens. It was a that was a really good performance. From the lads. We, I think we were a bit apprehensive into the game. You always had a little bit because you don't know what to expect. But we were also missing kinda the spine of the team. Connor was missing. Dan Ham was injured, mark Low was unavailable, and Carl, he was unavailable. So the kinda real spine of that team were, was messing. But. I think the first minute or so, the first couple of minutes we started and we had touching the ball. Northerners kicked off, kept the ball. We were playing forward. We went it back, gave it away, and then really the first time we got possession of the ball, we won a throw in, which was taken quickly. Sean Algan played a great ball in behind the back floor, and j Anno man running from midfield, got a touch on it, put it past the keeper in it. I think it took about six and a half minutes to travel to eight yards into the net. It was the slowest goal I've ever seen, but it was in there and that just set with the nails. I think it just gave us a platform to build on. We grew into the game. And I think we probably dominated the game, although North made it very competitive. Without really threatening. I don't think peers really had to save the make of note, but. They were very competitive in the middle of the part. Our back four were absolutely outstanding. We could do the man of the match, could be any one in the four of them. So although we, I'd say we dominate the game, we played well, we had to work for it. And it was a really pleasing result. We scored a another couple of goals, both very similar actually. Cross into the box, getting shots off, and then deflected in. And then we've got the final goal, Sean, with Sean and mcCal can get a well deserved goal. So really pleased. That puts us into the wee wake cup final. I have no idea who it's against. Are you guys on the wee way?
RobbieI, yeah, I think I think we've got veil rec, I think in that one. Again, I'm mixed up with all these fixtures to be honest. Yeah. 'cause we are still in the Jeremy and the Jersey FA Cup as well yeah, I'm sure it's Vale Rec we've got, so hopefully it could be, if that's a semi-final, it'll be all Jersey final. That'd be nice.
AndyYeah, that's, so user got Veil Rec on the 28th, so you've got Vil Rec on the 28th at Kennedy and then wanders on the 31st, both two Cup games. To save and the winner placed at climates both times. Yeah, pleased to get through to a final I didn't realize it was a semifinal at the time. Like I said, there's so many games and different competitions, you're not really sure what stage you're at and all of them. So it was only afterwards I found out that was the semi.
RobbieOh, that's great mate. I'm made up for you and all the boys. Let's just hope we do the job over the veil rec and get to the final.
AndyYeah, make it a good occasion. But that's you're like a final end of the season, don't you? So that was great. But moving on, premiership two, going back a couple weeks it was Rosell two Sport, Nike's N and that was in the Tradesman's Trophy. So a great result for Relle the first meeting of the season between Aki and Relle, put down a little bit of a marker. Cause you really struggled to separate those two at the top of the league. Going on Saturday, it was Lawrence won Sports Club three, A hat trick for Sebastian Figuera and a really hard fought win up at Lake anyway for them. So I think it, it really is between the top two. I think the, everyone else is a long way back. So I think there's that. Games. I don't suppose you probably wouldn't call 'em dead rubbers, but I'm sure they all want to finish as high as they can in the league. That's certainly a big one. I like a big shout out to St. Lawrence as well. We haven't covered that because it was a couple of weeks ago, St. Lawrence actually won their first game. And I don't know if you know that it's a ridiculous amount of time since that, since the one in week,
RobbieOh really? It's,
AndyI'm talking like well over a year. They won the first game in the league in such a long time. The Beat Dragos four one. So I think there was some big celebrations there. And Fair play. A fair play to all the lads involved with them to keep going When you are, when you're not winning games. It's a tough ask every week, so fair play to him and congratulations on it. We haven't covered it. They did, they beat a couple of weeks ago, the beat Dragos four one. We also had St. John eight, Dragos, two really dominant performance. He scored, so John scored an early goal in three goals in the five minutes he side of halftime just put 'em in control and they ran over the top of them. And then the last game on Saturday. Big one, and this was AKIs one. Rosell one. Just I think AKIs drop points a couple of weeks ago against St. John's. So I think Rosell are top of the league. Or I should know this, I did have before. They certainly have the advantage. And the race. So they've got two games in hand on ies, but they're three points behind them. Points on the board could be important, but Rosell probably hold the advantage there. Rose the scoring was open for Rosel by Connor O'Keefe, former of view of Paris, Robbie.
RobbieYeah.
AndyAnd then an equalizer from svo. But really shaping up to an exciting end season. I think those two will punch or punch right to the end of the season.
RobbieYeah, I'm just looking at the league table now. So what's it, AKIs played 10, 25 points. Rosell played 8 22 points. So yeah. Rosell win their two games now and they go three points clear. So that's, shaping up to be a really exciting end of the season. And I think both of them are secure to, they know they'll be playing premiership one next season. It's just who goes up with the trophy.
AndyYeah. Yeah, I think so. And you look at that mean rosell, you think there is a bit of a gap between IES and Rose and the rest. So you'd you'd expect that Rosell would win their games in hand. However, how many times have we seen it when you get to the, this stage in the season games that you comfortably win three or four. Now in September, October, take on a whole different challenge.
RobbieYeah. And added to that, you've added to that you've got availability with all this rescheduling of fixtures, you've got people who would've booked holidays and yeah, it could fall apart, but I'm sure it won't.
AndyYeah. Yeah. I think that's crossed. It comes down to a pure football battle between the
Robbieyeah.
AndyYeah. Moving at the championship one, going back a couple of weeks, I groove our reserves won those reserves three. That was an 85th minute equalizer by Ka Taylor for Wanderers before two goals in extra time by Jack Brown. And so it sounds like a quite an exciting game there. Wanderers hanging in there during the late equalizer and getting the job done an extra time. So Peter reserves six bras, reserves too. And Ellie umbrellas gold. Bits of bits just. Again, ran over the top of them and that gaves a good result for them. And then bead reserves once at Climas Reserves three. This is the two Z trophy. Goes from Josh Griffiths, Mark Mullins, and Andy Sharpe. And enough to get the point and enough to get through to the final force at Clement. And we've mentioned them a couple of times on the portal over the last couple of months. Kev Nelson with the goal for umbrellas. Still going strong.
RobbieYeah. Still popping up with the goals, so guarantee that was Ed.
AndyYeah. But he play Did he play against you guys or Saturday?
RobbieHe didn't I think he was away. So yeah, he wasn't involved unfortunately, but yeah. Good. See him, still popping up with a goal every now and then.
AndyYeah. Yeah. And then we had, so Peter's reserves now wonders reserves for just a straightforward win. I think there's a, again, we talk about gaps and levels within that league. I think Wonder is a. When you've got such a strong first team score, that normally filters down to a strong reserve team as well. And then the last one was one Reserves, one crews all reserves one, so one edge and towards the title, I think they can potentially win it by the end of the month. They've got a couple of games, but the clear water between them, they just need to keep going. I think they maybe need five points. And I'm doing that from memory, so I may be completely wrong on that. But it's not, if it's not five points, it's not many more to get 'em over the line. They've, I think they've been very strong this season. And I think you'd, you probably would've expected them to be right up there, come the end of the season and certainly looking that.
RobbieYeah, it's they've got a good pool, a big pool of players up there as we've joked about, or I've joked Yeah. And commented them. But they all seem to know which sort of team they're playing for. Yeah. So they're happy with that. So yeah. Fair play to them if they do go on and win the league. Yeah. I'm happy for them.
AndyYeah. And then chapter two last after they were gravel, C two one C four. A good result for some one coming from two goals down scored 14 in the last 15 minutes. I wonder with c team football, you wonder, is it fitness? Is it, I dunno, availability of players, whatever it is. But that's quite a turnaround in the last 15 minutes.
RobbieYeah, it is. It's some one, again we said it they've got their certain teams for the certain leagues and they've been a good outfit. Some won this season. They've pushed some pools all away. We'll touch on some pools in a minute, but yeah, good result for them. Just wasn't quite enough for the league.
AndyYeah. Yeah. They, and then Rosell five 20 reserves now, and First Tower two St. Paul Reserves five. Harrick for Hutchinson. You guys have won that league now, haven't you?
RobbieYeah. That was to win the league. So they were delighted. Yeah. Delighted for Lee Wilson, who's come in this season. He's done a great job. He's been helped by people, coming in when we've been short, like the likes of Craig Leach, Barry Beats and their score. And that's not young Barry Beaton. That's old Barry Beaton.
AndyI was, I did have a note there to say let's focus on the goals from Chris Connor and Barry Beaton.
RobbieSo Chris Conn put putting in a shift. He, he's getting on a bit as well. Bless him. Yeah. But Delighted Reef and Hutchinson, he is played a few first team games 'cause of the double header. I wanted him to go and get 90 minutes rather than a cameo off the bench and
Andyyeah.
RobbieDelight. He's gone and done what I've asked him to do and yeah. Brilliant. Pauls reserves have won the league.
AndyYeah. Is, I mean it's, when you're looking at goals from Chris Carter and Barry Beach, you think all back to 2010.
RobbieBarry would've still been about 50 then.
AndyDo you know I think where you mentioned there about Ethan a minute I don't know the kid, but sometimes when you have a player who's been in and around the first team and you ask them to go down the reserves, what you really want is so to go down and look like a first team player playing reserve team football. Yeah. I think if he's going down there scoring a hatch, you've gotta think he's done exactly that and you can't really ask for anything else.
RobbieNo, he's been really good for me since he's come in taking a little while to get going. He's had a couple of good games for first team, couple of not so good games, but I talked to Brendan and, my, my coaches and there's a player in there. He, we just need to get a match fit. So let's get him fit for, or let's get his fitness up the rest of the season and then see where we go next season with him.
AndyYeah, I think so. Yeah. Sometimes you have to you can see the ability there. You just have to try and unlock it somehow.
RobbieYeah, what I do like about him, he's brave as anything going, infra editors and stuff, which, you can't coach, that sort of thing. So
Andyyeah.
RobbieYeah, there's definitely something there to build on.
AndyOh good. Over 30 fives, Trinity Fives umbrella. Two Hatrick for Crocker, for Trinity Wanderers. 4 1 2. And then last midweek. Springfield, it was Ville one, St. Climate three, and the Jason Lee Cup final which I think might have been the first cup final of the season. Forgive me, I if I'm wrong,
RobbieI think it's, yeah.
AndyYeah. So St. Climates over 35 is picking that up. I have to say, the standard of Hatrick for Matty Rollins, because of course he.
RobbieHe just doesn't stop scoring, does he?
AndyYeah. I mean if you're gonna have 65 shots again, ya are gonna score a lot.
RobbieOh, don't do him dirty like that.
AndyMatt, one thing with Matt is he'll shoot from anywhere if he thinks it's on. And I've seen him score two or three times. I've seen him score from where he is Lobbing the keeper from the halfway line. A bit like you talk about Jake Baker did for Yeah, I've seen Matt do that a few times. He's willing to take it on and he gets his rewards for it. Yes, a great result there. First trophy the season coming down to St. Clements. We're really pleased with that.
RobbieCongratulations St. Clements on that win. Definitely first trophy. So yeah. Good on you boys.
AndyAgain, Saturday we had Rosell over 35 versus Trinity finished six five. So
Robbiewhat's a game that sounds.
AndyClearly played the 11 outfield players each and no. Yeah, somebody you look at and think that must be a mental, I don't think I've ever played the game like that, but it's but it's like that six five, I can't imagine that life. But
RobbieWe had it against Wanderers, didn't we? A couple of weeks ago for five four. That was crazy enough. But to add on another couple of goals, that would just be insane.
AndyAs a striker, I'd been doing my nothing. We are doing Arabic, but can you just stop them scoring?
RobbieYeah.
AndyAnd the la last thing was Portuguese Club 1 1 5. We've had over the last week or so in the Cherry Godfrey women's division's been the s boat. S's been over in the sga, SGA Spin Memorial Cup. So it's sports called four St. Peter one Wanderers four, Rosell two. Actually went three now up. And Rosell brought it back to three, two, made it quite tight. Before so I'm struggling to read my writing here. And Natasha King Natasha King got the goal to seal the hat trick and also seal the wind. I let goal from half. And then we had. On Sunday we had Sports Club Ne Rose nine A dominant performance. Rosell doubles from Leah Morris and Martha Rodriguez. I think that might be Rosell with some of the Bills players in that team as well. So that would be a real tough as for Sports Club. But it looks like the women's division, they're getting the games played and hopefully they'll building that for this season. Make a couple of new teams in next year.
RobbieYeah, because start of the season we were a little bit worried, weren't we? With a few. Alright. People pulling out so the games couldn't get played and stuff. So delighted to see that the, the back end of the season game fixtures are getting fulfilled and yeah, the girls are hopefully enjoying it. So hopefully that'll build, like you say, for next season.
AndyYeah. Cool. Moving on, we're talking about excite into the season, the Jersey builds and water job Elliot has done this year with him. And we have to take our hats off and say fair play. We were wrong and I thought. The bills, get mid table, secure yourself in that league. That'll be a good season. But Elliot said right from the start, they were after the playoffs they're now sitting in the playoff position. I think they, they still need to win games. It's really tight there. On the, going back a couple of weeks to beat fives from town one n at home, which is a huge result. It blew the player off race wide open. I think there's now three teams fighting for two places. Ride the Santos with a, another vital goal for the bills is having a great season for them. Going back a week because they went over to Kent, seven Oaks Town, ne Jersey Bull one a James Kerry penalty, again, picking up results right time of the season. Don't have to worry about the performance of just getting it and then a bit more comfortable. Last Saturday, the has three now. De Santos, ride de Santos again with a hat trick. So again, as we're coming into that bit, the season rises kicking on, starting to deliver results. But I think for the bills, I think the, it's, I think it's difficult to overstate just how good a job it is and how. How impressive is the performance, the results they're getting where they're in the league?
RobbieYeah, definitely. We spoke to earlier in the season about, aims and goals and challenges they're gonna face. Me and you and have talked about it where they seem to play a top 10 side every week and they were still getting results. I don't mean to do 'em in injustice, but. When I say it, it like contradicts itself. But all the hard work was done at the start of the season where they were beating the teams, in the top 10. And now obviously it's still hard work now, but they seem to be getting the right results, which justify the ones that they got earlier on in the season. Does that make sense?
AndyYeah. They gave themselves a foundation to build from, didn't they?
RobbieYeah, that. I should have just said that. That's a lot easier, isn't it?
AndySo the bills are covered, set in fifth on 62 points. Who they beat won. Now are sixth also on 62 points, but they've got a game in hand and above the one point above them are 63 points is sitting bond again, who have got a game in hand on the bills. So Fon when getting in their given in hand box, the bills out the playoffs. But it's a cliche. We've seen it. Anyone can beat anyone in this league. Yeah. And it's no guarantee that even if the bills drop out the playoffs for now. Couple of results going the other way, and they could be right back. Can it?
RobbieYeah.
AndyAnd even just look,
RobbieI was gonna say just looking down the league, you've got teams like Hastings United, which who are sitting 17th, east, born town, and 16th. They're on their day. They can, do a job on people above them. So it's gonna be a really exciting running. As with us in local football, the bulls are having an exciting run in there as well.
AndyYeah. You're looking at it, it's really tight. You could even go down there and say, as far as Dale Town and Margate down to seventh and eighth
Robbieyeah they're not far
Andyout,
Robbieare they?
AndyYeah. Margate have got, they're 11 points behind, so maybe they're maybe a wee bit too far out, but probably they never, they've still get 12, 13 games to go. Yeah, that's the thing. They're still a lot of football to be played and probably. For the bills more than even, more than what we talked about early. It's about results. Performances don't matter. Get those results, get over the line, see where they are because I hate to say it and I really hope it doesn't happen, but the bills could finish in the playoffs so they could finish my table. All it takes is two or three results going for them against them, drawing games, losing a couple games, and suddenly they drop away. So they've done the hard work, they've built a really good foundation, but now they need to kick on. The business end of the season.
RobbieYeah. Elliot won't let the lads drop this. And they've got good players in that squad as well. Good mentality. You likes a Luke Watson, James Kerry, they'll get the lads right? Definitely.
AndyYeah, I think so. Okay. So we said at the start of the pod as much as we've got all this exciting local football on Friday evening, the Jersey under 21 squad, go over to Sey for the under 21 Mirati. I think a Friday night game in RNs is gonna be quite the atmosphere for the lads. And we'll hear from Jack in a second. He gives us his thoughts about the preparation for the game, how the squad's shaping up and how he thinks the game's going go. But what are your thoughts, Robbie? 'cause you've got quite a lot of those lads in your squad at St. Paul's, you see them every week in training and at games. How do you think the game's gonna go?
RobbieThinking positively, I think we'll win in 3, 4, 1, I think. But traveling over Friday night, few of the lads are working now, so they having to leave work. I think their flight's over or they're traveling over three o'clock in the afternoon. Fair enough. They get to stay over the night and I don't think they're back till about five o'clock on Saturday afternoon. So they'll wanna make sure they get the right result and enjoy their day in Guernsey. Otherwise, it's gonna be a long wait to come home.
AndyYeah, it's a long yeah, if you've not won, that's a long time to wait, but I'm sure there'll be. Spend a bit of time in Follies following a well won path from many a jersey football in no time.
RobbieI think I'm still banned from there. But but no, like speaking from my lads at St. Paul's, they're all chomping at the bit and, I tried telling them not to let the last couple of results get into their head. They need to concentrate on this now. 'cause Jersey football or, playing for in a mirati or an under 21 ti is a different kettle of fish. You're playing with players that you don't normally play with, but they've all got good experience. I think there's quite a few of them that all went to the island games together as well. So that'll stand him in good stead. So yeah, I'm hoping and expecting a 3, 4, 1 victory.
AndyYeah, and I think that was something that Wacko spoke about. Before he has, he's spoken about a couple of times with the island games in terms of how important that was for them as a group in terms of getting them together. I'm interested to see the Ganzi squad, because I know that GFC have a much younger team this season, and I wonder how many of the GFC squad are they available? Again, I should have, this shows how unprepared I am. I could have checked to see if GFC have got a game on Saturday. To see whether there'd be any crossover. 'cause I know that there's probably a couple of players in the bill squad that they would've liked to have picked that won't be available for it. But I I'm really looking forward to the game. I think I'm confident. I think the, if the players go out there and deliver the way the performance that they're capable of, I think they'll be, I think they'll be well worth a victory. But, we will hear what Jack's got to say. Quite a few interesting points. We're just gonna hear from Jack now hear his views on how the preparation's gone and what he thinks about the game. I'm joined by Jersey Manager Jack Cannon as we prepare for the under 20 ones ate on Friday evening. Jack, how are you doing?
JackYeah, I'm good thanks. How are you?
AndyYeah, very well, mate. Very well. Thanks for joining us.
JackNo problem.
AndyFeels like a bit of deja vu here 'cause we did have this discussion a few months ago before the weather got in the way, but we've, it's finally come back round again. How's how are things looking for the game on Friday night?
JackYeah, no we've prepared we we trained last night. We trained Tuesday and Wednesday, and then we're trained again tonight before we fly out tomorrow.
AndyExcellent. And Friday night under the lights over in Guernsey offers a different challenge, I think. Have you played a night game over there?
JackI've I have, I actually played an optin an evening Optin game. I think it was a Saturday evening, probably a good few years ago now though, maybe 2014, something like that. And it was a really good atmosphere at the track. And I'm expecting a good atmosphere this time round. I said to lads, actually, it's probably better than it's turned out being a better occasion than it was previously in November being on a Sunday. We're looking forward to it. We've trained well. The lads are looking sharp and they're excited.
AndyYeah. And I think there's a big crowd at Victoria Park there for them as well, so I'm sure they'll enjoy it. So how are the squad looking? Because obviously you've picked up with 'em again this week, but I know you've been keeping an eye on them over the few months. How have they been looking in training?
JackYeah, no, they're looking good. They're all fit. The only change was Damon Huckabee's come in for Miguel Kavalo. Miguel's obviously involved with the balls on Saturday afternoon. And there's no flights to be able to get back. He's unfortunately playing with the balls instead of us. But there's to be expected really with what's on the line for the Bulls at the moment, and he's a key player for that team. There wasn't really any issue there. And Damon's come back and he's trained really well, to be fair to him. I didn't know too much about him. Adam Lester recommended we get him involved and he's trained really the last two nights. Yeah.
AndyOh, good stuff. And me, megs will be a big loss 'cause a level plays that, but I was looking at the squad when it was announced and the one thing I thought is there's a lot of attacking options in there. You're gonna have a bit of a headache picking that lineup, but some real quality in there isn't there?
JackYeah, I mentioned that previously a name dropped to a good few of the players and it's actually the strongest area of our squad, I'd say. The the sort of wide areas in the front areas. Yeah, whilst I'd love to have had MIGS available, of course, but yeah, I'm not too concerned. I still believe in the LAD that we've got.
AndyYeah. And how much do you know about the EY 20 ones team? I had to look myself and. I don't, I think it was one or two of names that I recognized, but not many. Do you know a bit more about them?
JackI've, to be honest with you, no. I've looked at previous sort of inter insular results with the similar age group and Jersey have had a decent record. I was never too concerned about. Guernsey players when I was playing in tis myself. So it's just the way I am, i'm just not too interested in the other team. I'm more interested obviously in ourselves and the way we perform but no I'm expecting the tough test. There's obviously, it's never an easy game playing in tis so I'm expecting a tough game, tough crowd, but yeah, if you can't, if you can't get up for this game on a Friday night on delights, then there's something wrong.
AndyYeah. I think you mentioned there the, obviously you, your own experience in tis and at, at all kind, kinda levels. Is that something you're trying to impart on the players? Maybe a bit of that mentality and that the more, the mental side of the game as well as obviously the tactical and the technical stuff you're doing.
JackI dunno. I think, to be honest with you, I just I have conversations with players. I was chatting with Casey Nixon last night and asked him if he was how he's feeling, looking forward to it, blah, blah. And then he said, yeah, I'm excited. What about you? And I took a. A second to answer. 'cause I suppose I don't really think of it like that anymore. I'm just excited for the players and obviously, we can't roll back the clock. But I suppose it's the, like I said in the last interview, it's the next best thing being on the touch line and obviously still being involved in the fixtures, the rivalry and the occasion. So obviously I wanna enjoy it, but more importantly I want the the lads to enjoy it and hopefully win.
AndyHow do you see the game going, but what's your kinda thoughts around that.
JackEv everyone will have their own sort of thought process. I wanna be on the front foot. I want to obviously play attack in football, create lots of chances, get crosses in the box. But I'd imagine their manager might wanna be the same. Yeah, I, that's the sort of language I'd be using to our players and encouraging them to go and express themselves. Get, like I said, get half a yard, get a shot away. Just play nice passes, be on the front foot playing forward, and yeah just enjoy the game, enjoy the occasion, and get stuck in.
AndyAnd how have you when you've approached the training, are you, Vinny and Adam, how have you kinda split that down amongst themselves. Have you got them to lead it and you taken a step back? Are you involved? How's that been working?
JackYeah, so I suppose from my point of view, I don't mind the coaching. I like giving a bit of input or stopping the session, for example. And, saying what I've seen or things like that. But by and large, it'll be sort of Adam doing the training and then myself and Vinny stepping in when appropriate and having conversations with people. And that's what I like about it, the management rather than the coaching, to be honest.
AndyYeah. And I think it's a good sort of working rhythm between you, isn't there? Certainly I know from working with myself you might say that you try to be a little bit calmer. I've taking a step back, but. If that desire never leaves you, does it, and that, that demand those demands and that desire to win that would I imagine that's still strong within you.
JackYeah, a hundred percent. I've actually, I'm a lot calmer than I thought I would be in terms of things that I can't control. So like refereeing decisions, things like that. I'm, I am very much just focused on how the players are performing, how the team's performing. How the game's spinning out that type of thing. So yeah I'm quite a deep thinker, I suppose tactically, that's the way I've always been though. I've always been conscientious and fought a lot about tactics and positioning in the game. Anyway, so yeah, nothing's really changed on that part.
AndyOh, brilliant. And I, its shaping up. I'm sure that's gonna be a great occasion, a great game. Robbie and I certainly wish you all the best on Friday. Hopefully you're coming back. With that trophy on Saturday night. It'll be a long Saturday if you don't, but I'm sure you'll have a,
Jackmy head
Andywill
Jackbe on the chopping block. I think
Andyit'll be a nice day in Guernsey just walking about with the Mera trophy. Hopefully. So all the very best on Friday night, mate.
JackThanks a lot. Cheers.
AndyAnd that was Jack Cannon, jazz Jersey manager talking about the upcoming under 21 Meti. I'll tell you what, Robbie, there's no doubt that the players have got the ability, but see if you could put his mentality into that squad, you'd, I think you'd be almost a certainty to win that game, wouldn't you? That's one of the certainly when I. Was involved with St. Paul's, that was the one thing you got from him was that mentality, that desire to win and everything about it is even though you can hear it in his voice, he's still very competitive.
RobbieYeah, definitely. We've known wacko for years, haven't we? And like you've managed him. I've played with him. He knows how to win. He knows that he wants to win. So if he can install any bit of that into the lads, then yeah, they've got a right. Good old chance.
AndyYeah. And I think you, to be fair to him as well, he was far more than that. He was a hell of a player as well.
RobbieYeah he was all right. He retired me yeah. But you can tell he is chomping at the bit like, 'cause it's been a long time for this to be rearranged, because when's it normally played? November, is it? I think something like that.
AndyYeah. It was October, November. It was due to be played and then it was postponed because they couldn't travel over 'cause of the storm that was due.
RobbieYeah, the storm didn't go on for four months though, did it?
AndyYeah. And you look at it when we you don't have a game this weekend. We were supposed to play some one this weekend, but both of us have got players in the 20 ones ate, so the game's been postponed. I think in fairness it's the right decision. Some one we've been missing the goalkeeper and. Yeah. As much as we are, we've got title aspirations, they're still looking themselves at making sure they stay in the league. And if I'd say that position more than any other, you don't want to be shot at this stage of the season.
RobbieNo. And with them losing Jack Kemp to Wanderers as well, so they couldn't even call in him to help him out, so Yeah. Decision made there.
AndyYeah. But we've got a lot, we've still got a lot of football coming up. Some really exciting stuff both locally and with the bills. Again, we're straight in next Saturday. A massive game at the bottom of the league. It's St. Peter versus Madeira. Now we did certainly, I mentioned that it's maybe a big ask for Madeira. Now St. Peter have to win. Yeah. There's just no, and even from Madeira, Madeira want to get anywhere near. Closing that gap, they have to win as well. And draw does, n does neither of them any good. But this is one that Chris will have marked on the calendar as a game that they should win. They have to win. But that's gonna be a really big one.
RobbieYeah. Massive. For both clubs. But you'd say more so st. Peers. 'cause like I say, Madeira are almost. But gone, I think. But St. Pete's can take really good solace. When we played 'em the other week, they gave us a right good game. Chris. You can see the evolution that they've had from the start of the season to where they are now. Their shape's better, the way they move it, it's better. And yeah, Chris is doing a really good job there. And that's honest praise from me, considering me and them don't see eye to eye.
AndyI agree. We played them. Three weeks ago I think we beat 'em three now in the end. Now it was, the conditions were really rough, but again they were fighting for each other. They're throwing themselves in front of everything, is the togetherness. And the squad was definitely there. And you do see it when you watch them. You can see what they're working on. You can see the patterns that they're trying.
RobbieYeah.
AndyThings aren't just coming off at times, but they're a young squad. Yeah. And I think you'll see as they, if they can stay together, you can see that develop. But yeah, this is huge. That's, again, forget patterns of play. Forget anything. This is a, an officer going the 95th minute, they won't. Yeah, that's, they just need to win that game.
RobbieYeah. Three points. That's all. That's a team talk, isn't it? Just go out and win.
AndyYeah. Yeah. Then we've got midweek next week we've got your boys at Paul's versus Ville up at Kennedy. That'll be an interesting one given the last couple of results you've had and I suppose how Friday goes for them as well.
RobbieYeah, I mean I'm obviously praying no one gets injured, but yeah, it could do with none of our players get picking up any knocks. 'cause like we talked about, we've got a small squad this season, so quick turnaround for the boys again, what's that four days? I think it is from Friday to. Tuesday. So yeah, big game Ville hit in a bit of form as well. I know they got just got beat off wonders, but by all accounts, what you said gave a good right good account at themselves and we're unlucky not to pick up at least a point. So yeah, it'll be interesting.
AndyYeah, they were competitive. And dare I say though, all being you might not forgive me for saying it, but. I think any team, if you've got aspirations to win the title, this is simply a game you've gotta win. Yeah. These teams, they, they never are, but you've almost gotta make 'em routine. They're not no's routine, but this is one we think we, there's no option here. You have to win it otherwise. Aspirations to the title aren't really warranted.
RobbieNo, definitely not. And that's what I'll be getting into the lads lads' head before, before the game. Definitely. Yeah, like you say, no disrespect to Greville, but we have to win, so we're thinking nothing but winning.
AndyYeah. And then going back to the next Saturday, we've got the Derby got St versus Rosell. I think Rosell will probably have too much for them. Although you never know. Again, it's just that little bit of an edge to it. And we're at the business end of the season where, as we say, routine games become a lot more difficult. So that, that'll be an interesting one. And then we've also got midweek. We've got the JFA ball that's on the Thursday Rosel versus simple ad up at Kennedy. Again, you'd expect Rosell to win that. Being a first team versus a reserve team. Championship one. We've got wanderers reserves versus central ad reserves on Saturday. Got St. Peter's Reserves versus one reserves. And again, this would take, potentially take some ones three points closer to the title before they, they play Wanderers Reserves a couple weeks after that, and that's first versus second. I think that'd be enough to I think if they win on Saturday, I think they can win the League against Wanderers. On the. Wednesday night at Springfield, we've got the two zero Memorial final at St. Clate Reserves versus Wanderers reserves. So that'll be a, a good occasion. I'm obviously biased. I hope it's a good game, but I hope St. Clate reserves managed to get the, get over the line. And then Saturday we've got a couple of, we've got the Dog club. The dog cup. I can never get that one out. It's the Jazz Jazzy Dog Club Challenge Cup, the Dog Cup, first Hour, Val C and St. John versus St. John Reserves versus ST one C. That's on Saturday at Lake. I know at St. John, over 30 fives we've got. Portuguese versus Trinity Rosell versus Lawrence versus Wanderers. And then in the midweek on the Tuesday, we've got some one versus Ville under the lights. I'll at some one, so I'll load the football on. And really interesting games as well. I think that's the key thing. Every game, virtually every game, they means something towards the end of the season. So exciting stuff.
RobbieYeah. Squeaky bum time.
AndyYeah. Yeah, I think so. I think so. The bills are away on Saturday. They go to. Earth town. They're playing on Saturday earth on 18th place. Again, I would say that the same point I made to about you guys, we groove out the bills and aspirations that play off. This has to be a routine one. Just has, yeah. Has to, again, they just go and win. Yeah. And you have to keep wanting to keep putting pressure on sitting ball and Fivesome, but Earth are only four points outside their allegation zone, so it's a big one for them as well.
RobbieYeah, I mean that, that could really, if ever forget the ba if error loses, then, that drops them closer to the, or, closes the gap at the bottom. But yeah, it's gotta be just fly over, get the job done, come home, three points in your back pocket for the bulls.
AndyYeah, and it's for the team. I think they, the bills beat 'em quite comfortably. Earlier on this season. It should all things be equal, it should be three points. Yeah. I wanna talk a little bit Robbie, on Sunday, we've got South Park R Gate versus Jersey Bulls women. Now I wasn't aware of this until yesterday. So the Bulls women have been tearing up. I think they, they won every game. They had a ridiculous goal difference in their favor. And I'd read, I knew that the league was gonna split into like a. A top six, bottom six, a top five, bottom five, whatever it is. A bit like what they do in the Scottish Premiership.
RobbieYeah.
AndyWhich I thought was a bit novel, but fair enough. What I didn't realize is they've zeroed all the points.
RobbieThat's crazy. That isn't it.
AndyYeah. It just makes a complete mockery of the league.
RobbieYeah.
AndyWhat was the point? Those games were the bills of. All the effort that's gone in the preparation, the everything about it, competitive football, and it, they've just turned it into a series of friendlies.
RobbieYeah, it's
Andyabsolutely madness.
RobbieI can't get head round that one to be honest, but the bulls have just gotta go into it with, okay, so it's our second season now, let's just go and do what we did in the first season.
AndyYeah. But, wo, women's football's made amazing progress over recent years. You look what the Y ses have done to give the game sort of credibility. And then you've got the organizers of the league just determined to take it backwards. Making it it's almost making it a laughingstock. It's oh we don't like the way the league this goes. So we're just gonna start again.
RobbieYeah,
AndyWe'll pick the ball up and start again. It's just, and I really feel for Chad and his team, because it's almost written off. There's no record now.
RobbieI was just about to say, what happens to all the goal scorers and stuff like that? Do they, does that still count or?
AndyI, I don't know as they understand. But certainly you only correl that the results aren't there. It's almost like it didn't happen. You really have to feel for them because they've put hell lot into the season. They've been so successful and now it comes on nothing. It's just. Dare set. You would not see it in men's football, and you should not be seeing it in women's football. I think the sorry. Division one, I think that they're in, they need to have a long, hard look at themselves. And I know that the bulls were unaware that points were gonna get zeroed at this point. They knew about the split, but they were, they didn't know it was gonna get zeroed. It's just a really poor lick, isn't it?
RobbieIt is. I was just about to say, it's not a great look, is it for that league or that organization overseeing that. But like I said, bulls have gotta put that to the back of their mind and say we did the first season or the first bit of the season and we're a top, so let's go and do it for second half now.
AndyYeah. It seems to be Jersey Bull thing, isn't it? You've gotta win the league twice.
RobbieIt's never easy. Is it for the bulls, the men or women?
AndyNo. They thought Elliot managed to do it last year, so the Jersey Bulls women have to do it. This, it's the southeast counties that they're in. And yeah just, it doesn't feel right. I think the, yeah, they're still showing the goals. You know what, they're still showing the goals on the system, but you don't see the results. Which is. Stupid. Yeah. Was it the
Robbiesouthwest counties did you say?
AndySoutheast. Southeast,
Robbiesoutheast counties. So you could imagine their committee or their board, they're probably all about a hundred years old that don't even really care for women's football. And they're like, just let's see how we can mess this up. They've got no idea. So sack 'em all, I reckon.
AndyYeah. Yeah. Get rid of them all. Anyway, Robbie, that's everything for this week. Brilliant.
RobbieAnd
Andywe'd like to wish the jersey under 20 ones all the very best on Friday evening for all the players Jack, Peter, Adam and all the. All the volunteers and all the people that make that thing happen, go, lads bring it home. What's expected. And I'm sure with Wacko and Peter Vincente, they will leave the lads under no doubt of exactly what's expected of them, and I'm sure they'll going deliver.
RobbieYeah, good luck lad's. All the best. Play the game, not the occasion. That's a bit of a corny line that isn't it, but it's true. 'cause the Guernsey will have a good support there. Definitely Friday night under the lights. So yeah, go and get the right results. Shut them all up and bring that meira back home.
AndyYeah, definitely. And finally, I as always a massive thank you to Chris and Jack Nova card for their support. Any building marks, any projects that you're doing, have a look on their site. They can help you not just with the drawings and that, and the planning that they can help you through the planning process as well, which is probably the biggest main field of all on J in Jersey is getting through the planning department, so they can support you with that. But yeah, huge thanks to them. But Robbie, it's been a pleasure. Let's make, let's not leave it so long. Next time. Let's try and catch up again next week.
RobbieDefinitely Ann, so we could, we'll look to do it probably next Wednesday after my game against Groove Ville. But yeah. Good to be back, mate. Good to have you back and good to have everyone listening again.
AndyCheers. And thanks to everyone from listening and we haven't mentioned it for a while, but please use the contact form on the, that we've got. Let us know what you think. I'd actually like to hear from people, particularly around the women's football, what they've done with that. I'd love to hear people's opinions. Maybe we are, maybe we've got it wrong, but it just does sound like a really bad thing. But I'll leave it for now. I could carry on ranting about that. I'm gonna stop. Thanks very much guys. Cheers Robbie. Bye for now.
