Welcome to From the Well to the World, where we draw from the truth of God's Word and pour it into everyday life. This week we are talking about how to cast it anyway, trusting God in the unknown. From Ecclesiastes 11 verses 1 through 6. Each day we will walk through what it means to trust God when life feels uncertain, choosing obedience, resting in His presence, and believing that He is working even when we cannot yet see.

Today we begin with a beautiful promise from Isaiah 43, verse 19. Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Those are powerful words, especially when you remember they were spoken to people in exile. Israel felt forgotten, worn down, and far from home.

Yes, and yet, right in the middle of that despair, God speaks hope. He reminds them that their story is not over. Even though they had failed him again and again, his mercy was not finished.

That's what stands out to me. God doesn't say try harder. He says, watch me do something new.

Amen. And that new thing ultimately points us to Jesus. Through him, God doesn't just improve our circumstances, he transforms our lives. Scripture tells us in 2 Corinthians 5 17, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, and behold, the new has come.

That's not just a fresh start, that's a whole new life.

It really is. God gives us a new heart, a new spirit. Ezekiel says he removes the heart of stone and replaces it with a heart of flesh, alive, responsive, and filled with his presence.

And it doesn't stop there. Sometimes we think this new thing is only personal, but it's bigger than that.

So much bigger. God's renewal stretches across all of creation. Revelation 21, verse 5 says, Behold, I am making all things new, and one day everything broken will be restored completely and fully.

A new heaven, a new earth, no more sin, no more pain. That's the future God is leading us toward.

And even now we get glimpses of it. Every time God restores a life, heals a heart, or brings hope into a difficult situation. Those are all little rivers in the desert.

I love that picture because some of us listening today might feel that we're in that wilderness right now.

Yes, maybe things feel dry and certain or even overwhelming, but this promise still stands. God is at work even when we cannot see it clearly. He is making a way.

And sometimes the question isn't, is God working? But do we perceive it?

That is so good. Lamentations reminds us that his mercies are new every morning, every single day. God is doing something fresh, something good.

So today we invite you to look again, pay attention, ask the Lord to help you see the new thing he is doing in your life.

Because the same God who spoke hope to Israel, the same God who sent Jesus is still at work in you today. Shall we pray? Heavenly Father, thank you. Thank you that you are the God who makes all things new. When we feel stuck, weary, or uncertain, remind us that you are always working. Open our eyes to see the new thing you are doing, even in the wilderness places of our lives. And give us hearts that trust you and faith to follow wherever you lead. In Jesus' precious name we pray, Amen.
