SPEAKER_02

But yeah, anyway, I just think how rare this life is and people that don't live it, how much they want to knock it, I still would never trade it for the world.

SPEAKER_01

So Brady, I have a question for you. What's it like when the corn is high but the chaos is higher? It's a lot of things, but it's never boring. This is the Farm Wi-Fi's life between the rows. Welcome back.

SPEAKER_03

Happy Monday.

SPEAKER_02

Hello, everyone. I don't know what we're talking about today.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, because you did it to me. I'm gonna do it right back to you.

SPEAKER_02

At least I know that it's coming. Yeah. You never do. I always just spring it on.

SPEAKER_03

I know it it should be the opposite way around.

SPEAKER_02

But honestly, I think I would give you anxiety if I told you, Addy, in a week we're gonna do an episode just about you.

SPEAKER_03

That is true. It would be like, no, let's not do it.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly. So that's why I just do it and it's fine.

SPEAKER_03

So this is gonna be um get to know you even further than what we already know, Brady.

SPEAKER_02

I literally got my iPad out to like, and I have nothing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you you don't. Um I'm gonna start with just like some quick little fun questions, and then we'll deep dive into it a little bit more. But okay, you have no kids. Okay. Early morning or late night?

SPEAKER_01

Early morning.

SPEAKER_03

Why? I kind of just do that anyway. Is it just is that how you were before kids as well?

SPEAKER_02

I think so. It wasn't as early morning as it is early, but it was definitely more.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you sent me a Snapchat this morning at like 5 45 working out.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like, okay, I didn't mean like I didn't set an alarm. I but Branson, so he ate at 12 30 last night, and then he didn't get up till like 4 45. So I fed him at 4 45 and then it was like 5 o'clock. I'm like, I'm up, it's five. Like, am I really gonna go to bed for another hour and then wake up and work out? No, I'll probably sleep till seven and then get up and then just be shot.

SPEAKER_03

Not be able to work out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. I just got up, but it turned out to be really good because I worked out and got a devotional in and it was really nice. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah, definitely early morning. Okay. Do you ever find yourself like wishing to be a night person?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, because college I kind of lived that like I was very much a night person and like early, early morning person. And then would sleep till you know 10, 11 o'clock or whatever, which I feel like is kind of the norm with college kids. But I didn't love that. Like you just don't ever really feel productive when you're sleeping that late into the day. At least I never did.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. You have the choice between a week-long trip. I guess it doesn't have to be a week long, but we're gonna say a week-long trip to the beach or the mountains.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Why?

SPEAKER_02

I feel like I'm more of a could be more of a mountains person, but also an all-inclusive in Mexico is like just hits different.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I would agree.

SPEAKER_02

I wanted to do like an Alaskan trip for our honeymoon, and Tyler was like, absolutely not, we're going to Mexico.

SPEAKER_01

I agree.

SPEAKER_02

And I had never been anywhere, so I didn't put up a fight or anything. I didn't really care. I'm like, oh, we gotta go somewhere, like, great. I don't know. Like, I I think my all-time favorite vacation would be like a summer in Alaska.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, that is what I w what one one of the questions is like, what is your dream vacation spot?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so that would be like my dream, but as far as like a trip we take every year, we're probably going to Mexico. Honestly, that's Tyler's favorite, and like for the cost, it's just like you get more paying for your book.

SPEAKER_03

You do, yeah. As long as it's still safe in Mexico. Right, exactly. I'm gonna keep traveling there. Yeah. I know Cody and I really liked the Dominican. Did you? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And that's always been to Mexico. I mean, we don't the resorts are so different. We don't really care where we go, I guess.

SPEAKER_03

But there's a lot of branch out a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, or maybe like the Virgin Islands or I would do the Virgin Islands. Um little bit more expensive, of course, but do you like mountain y stuff or are you definitely more see?

SPEAKER_03

I think my answer would be who am I traveling with?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Like so if I was just doing like a girls' trip, I'm doing beach because it's all inclusive. We I can have more fun with that. But also, like, what is the purpose of the trip too? Am I wanting to go crazy? And I say that like I'm really that crazy, but like four drinks crazy. Am I am I wanting to like really just like bond with the girls and like have fun? And or is it more of like learning nature? Is it more of a restorative, like my heart and my soul and my mind just needs yes, like, and so then I would maybe do mountains if I was alone, mountains a hundred percent.

SPEAKER_02

And honestly, like I say mountains, but I mean like and I do mean like my dream trip would be like a summer in Alaska or like a a week-long summer Alaskan vacation trip. But when I think mountains, I also think, and I hope I do not butcher this when I say it, but Mackinac Island.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, up in uh Michigan, Wisconsin, something like that area.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. I think that would be so fun because it's just like I don't know, Hallmark movie-ish and I don't know, cutesy. Also, like going up to Maine, like I think that would be so pretty. Honestly, like I say mountains and I mean like everything besides beach, like Mexico vacation.

SPEAKER_03

So I am like we talked about this on the last episode, but I am creeping a trip right now, and I am I will, and I texted you too about it, but I want to go to the Rockies so bad. Like, I specifically want to go to Knoxville, Tennessee. But I like I just want to be like You know me.

SPEAKER_02

I'm never um like I'm down to go anywhere. I'm happy to see the world like Kentucky. I don't know if anybody hates on Kentucky. It when you say we're going to on vacation to Kentucky, it does kind of sound like, oh yeah, Kentucky. But it was I really enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it you can always find stuff like actually fun story about our Kentucky trip when we went to the spa there.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah. I'm so sad Aaron didn't get to go. I know.

SPEAKER_03

But we Well Peyton too.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, Peyton, if you listen. We missed you too.

SPEAKER_03

I only miss Aaron. I'm kidding, Peyton. He knows that I love him. They're moving actually this weekend too. Are they? Yeah, so excited. I'm so glad. Randall just had a second birthday yesterday.

SPEAKER_02

She's getting so close. It's being number two. Okay. Wait, let's what's your prediction?

SPEAKER_03

I'm still thinking boy. I'm hoping it's a boy for them. Are you? I'm really hoping.

SPEAKER_02

I hope it's a boy for Randall, but I kind of think it's a girl.

SPEAKER_03

It might be. Yeah, I mean. It might be. I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

We'll just get our thoughts on recording for the future when she has. I just hate saying it. I know. When they have their baby.

SPEAKER_03

We'll know. Yeah. Knowing them, they probably do know, and they're just not telling us. Because that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_02

Oh no, they really like the surprise. I know, they do. I really wish Tyler would have been okay with that with Branson, because it would have just been fun. Like, you know, he was born and the doctors or Tyler, whatever. Oh, it's a boy. Like just that, I don't know, you wait so long. Like that's a long time to keep a secret.

SPEAKER_03

I remember when you guys did your gender reveal at the lake.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, how random, but that was fun.

SPEAKER_03

It was fun. It was just like, well, what do we have at this random Airbnb that we can just make a gender reveal?

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, and it was a croquet set. Yeah. It just happened to have a blue ball and a pink ball.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. It was so fun. Anyway.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Okay. Anyway, sorry. On to the next.

SPEAKER_03

What is your favorite place to connect with God?

SPEAKER_02

Oh. I don't know if this is my favorite place, but it's always like when I'm having a quiet moment with the kids, and I'm not even really like diving into a devotional or like reading my Bible or listening to worship music, like I can feel like I'm biblically or like educating purposes, I'm so far away from that with God. But like when I'm I just have a quiet moment with the kids, like I'm rocking Branson, or um when Talon's actually being snuggly, like I just find myself with such gratitude. Like with just such like and I almost get like teary-eyed, like I just cannot believe that God thought I deserved this. Like I remember being a little girl and just like thinking.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, we just heard a Branson's upstairs, and we just heard him scream. Speaking of my children, and a quiet, not so moment.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, just I don't know, it's just always surreal, like, especially when I've had a long day, and then I finally just get a moment to like listen to silence and the weight of a baby on your chest. Like, yeah, it's just that's definitely my moment of like, thank you, Jesus. Like, I don't deserve this, and like you paid it all so that I could live this and you know, just take in every minute. And so it's just one, I feel so close with God and all of his blessings, but then two, a nice reminder of the days are long, but like this is what it's about. Like, I know there's times where I'm short and it's really hard, but like like even just 20 minutes with the weight of a baby on your chest sleeping, like, yeah, just kind of resets my soul.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I love that. Yeah, I do.

SPEAKER_03

It's kind of a weird answer, but no, no, I think it's great. Actually, one of some feedback that I got from one of our recent episodes is we were talking about God and really being able to connect with him and do all of this stuff, and I know I said it and you kind of agreed, but it was along the lines of like you don't have to go to church to connect with God. Right, yeah, and so like finding those little tiny moments of like it might not be a specific place every single time, and just finding those moments that you can connect with God. So I I really like your answer of like it's those moments versus the place.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and I mean not even with I mean when I think of church, honestly, my first thought goes to fellowship, like yeah, a hundred percent. Like I don't even, you know, and as far as the sermon, like just growing in my spiritual journey as far as like learning about my faith, learning about the Bible, but no, I'm definitely like the moments that's where I feel like that big, like deep connection with God. I mean, even like being at the Ozarks this last weekend, and you know, it's been a little over a year since my father-in-law had his heart attack, and so like yeah, just like a teary-eyed moment of him driving the boat and like all of us being there as a family, like yeah, all possible because of God. Right. Like, we very well could have looked really different this year, and I'm so glad it isn't.

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_02

So, you know, just the most random times where it's it's so fleeting and it's like an aha, like this is all because of him.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, 100%. What is one farm I don't want to say accident, but like farming mishap that and okay, I'm also gonna preface this. We talk about forgiveness and that we're gonna be able to do it. Like, so much is running through my mind right now. I know, I know. So we talk about forgiveness and like that we really need to deep dive into forgiveness and like just kind of let go and let it pass and all of this stuff. But what is one farming incident that you will never forgive Tyler for? Oh besides your beans and being too antsy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean that annoys me, but it's not much, it's not like uh anger. I'm just annoyed that he didn't like he just couldn't just wait. Give in a little bit, like give up that control, but also like that's me with our household. I don't know. So I kind of relate as far as like that's Tyler's baby per se. Like I get it. Gosh, I don't know. It honestly it's it there's not one single accident, but it's always when we have accidents during harvest, and Tyler like feels like they're behind, so he gets super amped up and then something happens. But that's not because of the accident itself, it's because you know, I with my OCD I have such intrusive thoughts. So I'm like, okay, this is happening because you're like trying to rush, rush, rush and get stuff done. Like these little accidents that which and some of them have been like costly, yes, but like these I say little in the comparison of what if somebody got ran over, like now that we have small children, or you know, even a pet, or you know, there's just in comparison to like something really unfortunate that could happen, it's like the rushing, like let's just slow down, like 100%. Yeah, so I don't know, and obviously like I can't forgive him for things that haven't happened yet, but that's just like what's always on my mind. Like if you can't slow down when you know you're just feeling rushed and nothing there's really not anything to like quote unquote rush for, it's just like the busyness of the season. So you feel like we need to go, go, go, like what could happen in the future if we don't just take a breath and so I don't know. I'm kind of always on that mindset when we get into busy season. It's like it will get done. It has to, like, if then breathe, please. It may take you a couple more days, a week, whatever, but like let's just make sure everybody's safe and I don't know, that just needs to be main concern. But I also know that I get over worried about it because of all the intrusive thoughts I have.

SPEAKER_03

Well, and it also like we talked about planning summer vacations and all of this stuff. Like, you also are like, okay, it has to be done by this time because we're leaving. So, like, I get it. It's like that science and art all put together. So do you have a favorite piece of farming equipment?

SPEAKER_00

Hmm.

SPEAKER_02

See, and my head's going to like, well, all of them have their purposes.

SPEAKER_03

I know. I only ask because there's one piece of equipment that I will like never give up on our farm. Really?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I don't know if I have that. Tyler's planter feels sentimental.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Just because to me, any I mean, I can't even think off the top of my head, maybe he did buy bigger equipment before that one.

SPEAKER_03

But that felt like our first like Like that was the first, like, big Okay, we're actually in this.

SPEAKER_02

Big, big boy purchase. Like we're farming. Like Yeah, so I don't know, that's kind of sentimental, but then also like just I don't know if people really think it's innovative or not, but like I just like the split row and I don't know, just it's different. Um so I yeah, I probably the planter.

SPEAKER_03

But there's a lot of pieces of pieces of equipment that you can't farm without other pieces of equipment, so I get it.

SPEAKER_02

But yeah, yeah. Wait, I want to hear yours. Side by side. 100%. I do love our side by side. I feel like we could probably be okay without it, but it is extremely helpful to Tyler.

SPEAKER_03

It is so helpful for us down on ours.

SPEAKER_02

Well, with yours cows and stuff, I could see.

SPEAKER_03

No, yeah, run it out in the pasture, get it stuck in the middle of the pasture. I'm kidding. I mean, I'm not kidding, and I actually did, but she's not kidding. She really did get it stuck and had to walk back from the pasture. But it's fine. I had a gun with me. It's a it's okay. Anyway, what's your favorite thing that your farm does, like right now?

SPEAKER_02

I was just this again is not gonna be like a super particular thing that our farm does, but I was just telling a cousin of ours on this bachelorette trip. I am just so blessed is a word, but also so thankful with Tyler's family and the progress the progression of their operation and also the transition between generations. Like they have done such a phenomenal job of it being so seamless, going from generation to generation. And I say blessed because I unfortunately have seen it not go well. Yeah, yeah. I mean at all farms, generational farms, end and be sold because of a transition from one generation to the next. Right. So I'm I I'm that's my biggest thing I'm proud of. Just coming into this family and obviously not knowing everything I know about the farm now, back then, but just as Tyler and I have been married longer and with each other and just being educated on the farm and the operation itself, that has been the one thing that has been current of like, wow, you guys do a really good job of just making it run. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So 100%.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that that's it, hands down.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, cool. Okay, you have three choices back to travel California, Florida, or New York.

SPEAKER_02

You did that on purpose.

SPEAKER_03

I did. I sure did. I have a feeling I know your answer, but New York. Okay, that's not what I was gonna choose. I was gonna choose Florida because we were thinking about going to Destin that one time.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, I picked New York just because of all the um like historical things to do there. And I'm kind of a there's certain things that I think would be really interesting, like the 9-11. Oh, it's beautiful. Yeah, I just think that would be super, super cool to see in person.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But I don't like I don't think of the idea of like going to any of those. I know. That's why I'm like instant basis. I need to ask you.

SPEAKER_03

I used to go to California every single year, and I would go back out to California if I could.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

San Diego is where we did a lot of people.

SPEAKER_02

I would like to do San Diego Zoo. I think that would be cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, just because the San Diego Zoo, like there's also the total side subject, but there's a little outlet mall right on the border of Mexico and the United States. Okay, and you literally could like go touch the wall. It is so cool. It actually just came up on my time hop like a few days ago. Because I was there.

SPEAKER_02

That is kind of cool. But yeah, that was such a particular question. You knew.

SPEAKER_03

I oh, I knew exactly what I was doing there. Knew it. Okay, what is your favorite Bible verse and why?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I have to get my Bible out for this. Okay. Um which if we have people that listen like weekly, I we've really been on a Matthew kick. And that's only because I have been like trying, and I say trying to get through this book, not because it's bad. It's a really, really great book, and I've learned a lot from it, but because it's just we're so busy. Yeah. Like to actually sit down and do a devotional that I feel like I'm getting something out of is like far and few between right now. So I feel like I've literally been in Matthew for six months. But anyway, I cannot pick a verse, so we're gonna do like a whole devotional. Okay, let's do it. Let's do it. It's fine. Yeah. But I just really loved it. So anyway, I and I did go off of Jesus Feeds of 5000 and like episodes, episodes ago. But this one is over when Jesus walks on water. So I will start, and this is in if people want to follow along, I guess. This is in Matthew chapter 14, and I am gonna start on verse twenty five. Okay, so shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. It's a ghost, they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them, Take courage, it is I, don't be afraid. Lord, if it's you, Peter replied, tell me to come to you on the water. Come, he said. Then Peter got down of the boat, out of the boat, walked on the water, and came towards Jesus. But when he saw the wind he was afraid and beginning to sink, cried out, Lord, save me. Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. You have little faith, he said, Why did you doubt? And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God. So I just really, really loved that. For one, I think it's my big highlight was why did you doubt?

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. That's that's immediately the things that came into my head.

SPEAKER_02

I think that's so easy uh for us humans to like anything that is even remotely negative, that's our first why God. Like, we just always why did you let this happen? Why did you know why, why, why? When at the end of the day, like maybe that's him, and I obviously I don't know the circumstances from being like you stubbed your toe on your bed to you know really awful, horrible things happening in your life. Obviously, there's a big spectrum there, but to not just not doubt him, to always have faith in him, and the other thing that I was kind of questioning from this was you know, the disciples, they've been following him for how long, but they still were like, truly you are the son of God, and so that kind of stuck with me for a while. I'm like, why did they follow him to begin with? If this was their like aha, like you are the son of God moment, like why did they why'd they ever start following? And so I think in the beginning they, and obviously this is just my opinion, I don't know, like this is not factual or anything, but I think in the beginning when I think it's in um Matthew 4 when Jesus calls out to them, he said, or he thought that, you know, maybe they they looked at Jesus as like a teacher. And then as we go through things like, you know, Jesus feeds the five thousand, Jesus heals people, all of these different miracles, it turned into a, you know, like I said, that aha moment where they didn't just see power, they saw who he really was. Which is really beautiful. Yeah. But Yeah, I just I think I don't know, it's just like you have little faith, he said, Why did you doubt? I don't know, even like that's just an everyday thing for me, I guess. Reading that was like, Yeah, that's right. Why do I doubt any of this that's happening? Like, God knows my path. He knows what's happening, good, bad, all of it. Right. Like if I'm really one of such faith and I believe in God so so much and I know that he died for my sins, then in any day occurrence, why am I not leaning back onto that?

SPEAKER_03

There's two things that came to my head.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm curious.

SPEAKER_03

When you so the why why why comment, it reminds me of my dad because hit when he got diagnosed with cancer, he was always like, you know, it's always like, why me? Why like why why can it be why is it this person? He always used to say, why not me? So I actually have that tattooed on like his memorial tattoo, like on my side. It's like it's his birth year and then his death year. And then like it says why not me right there. So yeah. The second thing that that came to my head was especially in today's age, I think it is so how we're questioning is this true? Am I is this actually Jesus? Is this actually like can I trust this person? It is so easy in today's age to be like looking at someone through a screen or looking at someone through social media. In comparison. In comparison, but also like trusting them. Yeah. Because it is so hard for we naturally as humans, we want to believe people.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But until our trust is broken by someone, right, so someone's trust was broken. And so, like, for him to reach out and be like, Why did you not have faith in me that this was me? And so it I especially see that in today's age to because of the fact that we just we've had our trust broken so many times, and it's so much easier to hide behind a screen and not to see like the true people that sometimes it's hard to put all of our trust into one person, and so that was also something that came to my head.

SPEAKER_02

I really like the part of, and I know we're really focusing on the like main, you know, why did you doubt? But I really think too. Sorry, I'm trying to find it here. Okay, yeah. Um, but when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink, cried out, Lord, save me. You know, when he looked at God and was trusting in God and let me walk to you, and God's and Jesus said, you know, walk, come to me. And Peter did, and he was walking to him, and then you know, the wind came and he had this distraction over here, and he looked away from God. And so then he started to sink and stumble. And I think that's our day-to-day lives. Yeah, we are constantly being pulled in every direction with social media and just all the comparisons in our life, and even back then they didn't have any of this, but they still were looking at other distractions away from God, and it was pulling them away from him.

SPEAKER_01

100%.

SPEAKER_02

Same with today. We look at this person and everything they have, you know. We don't focus on what we do have, we think of what we don't have, and that pulls us away from him, and then we start to stumble in our faith.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And so, yeah, I don't know. That part to me was just really stuck out.

SPEAKER_01

I really liked that verse.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, thanks. It's a good one. I just I've Matthew has just been so much. I know I said in the last episode, but seriously, if you need a book to read, read Matthew. It's long, I'm not even I'm literally only on chapter 15, and I've been on it for like six months, but um, yeah, it's been really good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well, good. Yeah, next. Okay, next question. When you work alongside your husband on the farm, how do you stop the farm talk from hijacking your marriage talk? So, how do you transition from like being business partners to making sure the farm is operating and growing and all of that stuff, but also bringing it back to being a romantic partner?

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna have a really like probably older generational view on this subject than some of our listeners will. But I go back to biblical and Tyler's called to lead me and our family. And so I may have I may have, I do have a lot of opinions and a lot of ideas for our operation, but at the end of the day, that's Tyler's role. And even here at the house, like I may quote unquote run our household as far as like you know, the day-to-day stuff, taking care of the kids, laundry dishes, all that kind of stuff. But even if Tyler was to come to me and you know, express an opinion of something I should do different, like I'm going to really take that into consideration because he is the leader of our family, and that's what God calls of him. I love that. Like, I just always have that in the back of my mind. Yeah. Even like today, I can bring up a little argument that we had because just times, and I had told Tyler a certain time, and then we had to do a we had to settle our schedule our appointment for a different time. So he was upset that his day was messed up by an hour, and it just was a whole thing.

SPEAKER_03

And I was not helping.

SPEAKER_02

No, no, Addy was laughing the whole time. And if it was you and Cody, I would have been laughing as well. Yeah. But then, I mean, I'm sure you heard me, but then I walked into the kitchen after we kind of settled, and I was like, is that okay? Like I can do something different if you really need me to do something different. Right. And he, of course, puts on this like moncho, like, woohoo, like it's fine, I'll figure it out, blah blah, and is like still kind of mean. But then, you know, I'm wa I'm warming up a a bag of milk for Branson, and here he comes over and puts his arm around me, and it'll be fine. Love ya. Like we just always like come back together. Yeah. That used to not be so easy when I wasn't um when I wasn't operating in our relationship biblically. So that's just following God's word for us has really made it a lot easier.

SPEAKER_03

Good.

SPEAKER_02

And sometimes it's not fun to be like that quote unquote submissive.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_02

But our marriage it works better when I when when we do it that way.

SPEAKER_03

I like that. Yeah. Second question, what's your favorite part about watching the kids grow up in this lifestyle right now? That makes me emotional.

SPEAKER_02

How rare it is. Yeah. And I think we forget that. Yeah. Because we live it every day and like we see the good, bad, ugly, like it's not all you know. Sunshines and rainbows, but it's also it yeah, I mean I love it. I literally, if I if God came to me right now and said, I'm an I can I'll give you a reset if you pick it, like I I never would. But yeah, I mean, we definitely portray portray like the fun farm, like, you know, but I know some neighbors, I don't know them personally, but just like Nebraska neighbors that they have no crops left.

SPEAKER_03

Because of all the wind.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, they're nothing. And there was a TikTok that someone had posted of 24 hours ago, they had probably shoulder high corn that looked beautiful, nice and green, and then today or whenever the storm came through, gone.

SPEAKER_03

I know.

SPEAKER_02

It's I mean, you can even see a plant standing in the field anymore. That's how bad it was.

SPEAKER_03

I know. And there's always those people in our life. Like, I know Cody and I, the people that we tractor pull with, but when we had the hail come through just a few days ago, he immediately looked at me, he's like, I really hope it didn't hit their farm. Yeah. Because that's the last thing that they need. And I was just like, There's nothing that we can do to prevent it from happening, and there's nothing that we can do right now at this time. But like, I agree, I don't want it to happen, but it's just there it's not.

SPEAKER_02

Like we just get we don't get uh help's not the right word, but just like even like compassion from people that don't do this life, like you know, that TikTok that I was just saying about there, all the comments on there, majority of them are really good, like sending love and prayers for your family, and like here's to a better year, yada yada. But you've got people like, well, isn't that what crop insurance is for?

SPEAKER_03

Or like if you're lucky enough to have crop insurance, and that doesn't pay for your lost income. No, that pays for all of the inputs that you put into it, and that's about it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and honestly, like people just don't get like when you do something with yes, we have nice big equipment that does a lot for us, but like you're doing something with your hands, like, and there's so much of it that is like completely out of your control that it's yeah, we d we continuously talk about God on here, but like Tyler's occupation and the life we live relies on him so greatly. Right. But yeah, anyway, I just think how rare this life is and people that don't live it, how much they want to knock it, I still would never trade it for the world. Like, there is just a beauty to loving the land and giving back to it every generation that it gives something back to you.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah. Okay, last question. Okay, what is the biggest shock to your system when you transition from just handling the farm to handling the farm with kids?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I've talked about this before, but just like the step back I've had to take, especially now, because I've really done such a deep dive in the last two years of like how I think our operation could look better if we implemented some different things, but not being able to like really partake in that, like, yeah, I get to have my kelp trial, and like I've got some things in the works for next year I'm really excited about, but not like actively being able to like be there and do it hurts my heart sometimes. And I love what I'm doing here, I know that it's important work, I know it's what God has called of me, and I do truly love it. Like I would never ever want to do anything different than be here with my babies, but yeah, it's still it still is tough. I don't know, just not getting to be a part of the farm. Yeah, 100%. And I know I am, but like I'm not at the same time. It's just we're we're in a weird era. I mean, I know in you know, five years when the kids are in school and I get to take a different step into the farm, that'll be fun. But then I'll also miss being at home with the babies and this era.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So it's just like time's changing constantly, and there's good and bad with all of it.

SPEAKER_03

I love that.

SPEAKER_02

Thanks for that!

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, thanks for getting to know Brady. Yeah, a little bit deeper. Yeah, we'll see you guys next week. Bye.

SPEAKER_01

They say a farmer's work is never done. Well, neither is ours. Come back next week for a new episode of Life Between the Rows.
