Through the Forest with Jennifer Silva: Haunting Tales & Ballads

Emily is a night manager at The Melrose Mansion, a beautiful, yet very haunted boutique hotel located in the French Quarter of New Orleans. She spoke to Jennifer about her own paranormal experiences in Episode 3.

Jezmina Von Thiele (they/she) is a writer, educator, and fortune teller in their mixed Romani tradition. They write poetry, fiction, and nonfiction published in Prairie Schooner, The Kenyon Review Online, Narrative Magazine, and elsewhere (some published as Jessica Reidy). They also offer editing and creative  coaching/consulting and services for artists and writers of all types. Jezmina reads tarot, palms, and tea leaves online, and in-person at Deadwick's Ethereal Emporium in Portsmouth, NH. Jezmina also tells fortunes and performs with The Poetry Brothel—Boston. They are co-host of Romanistan, a podcast celebrating Romani culture, alongside co-host Paulina Stevens. They are also owner and operator of the online vintage Etsy shop, Evil Eye Edit. 

The ability to see the paranormal, can be a generational gift (or curse!). Jennifer's mother JoAnn has been seeing ghosts for decades and her stories are featured in several episodes of Through the Forest. 

Madame Sonja is first generation American, coming from an ancient lineage of Slavic mystics and healers. She is clairaudient, clairsentient, empathic, an Ordained Minister and practicing Eclectic Witch. She is also a medium. Madame Sonja is featured in Episode 4 of Through the Forest.

Paulina Stevens was raised within her Romani family’s fortunetelling & wellness traditions. Inspired by the holistic health movement, she earned a wellness coaching certificate, and began collaborating with nutritionists and herbalists to serve clients. She opened Romani Holistic Healing in Newport Beach, CA, a spiritual shop that also offers readings, house cleansings, and 1-on-1 coaching. She is the co-host of Romanistan Podcast, and was featured on the LA Times podcast, Foretold, which tells the story of Paulina’s decision to leave her arranged marriage and community, fight for custody of her children, and start a new life, walking between the Roma and non-Roma worlds. She is currently a college student. 

Robin Lucas is a 4th generation Beaconite, and is the founder and host of Historical Beacon Walking Tours - including the incredible Ghost Tour. Robin worked at The Beacon Historical Society for years and is an expert in all things Beacon. She also lives in a haunted house in town with her family.
