Welcome back. Welcome back. Welcome back. Welcome back. Welcome back. Welcome back. Welcome back to another episode of Organized Chaos, season two, Permission Granted. So I decided I have Manifesting Monday stories that I drop every Monday, and I do like talking a lot, so I think as of right now, every other Wednesday, I'm going to drop a Wednesday episode where I do weigh-in Wednesdays, where I weigh in about different opinions I have. They're going to be about anything and everything, and probably, knowing me, they'll be something lighthearted and fun, something to get you through the week. Always interesting and never a dull moment. They might be when I have podcast guest or ramble about random stuff. Who knows? Let's find out together. The point is come back every Wednesday to hear my Wednesday weigh-ins. I love this idea for Wednesday weigh-ins because back in the day when I was a personal trainer for over a decade, I would have my clients weigh in every Wednesday morning and report back to me. It's very important when you are trying to release weight that you weigh in the same day and time each week to get a consistent reading. And with Wednesday being the middle of the week, for most people, it was the furthest away from, let's say, any alcohol or extra eating that happens on the weekend. So you give that time for Monday and Tuesday for your body to adjust, and Wednesday, I always felt was the most accurate reading, so I would have my clients give their Wednesday weigh-ins a way for them to text me and tell me what's up it would be a way to see the most results. So here, I'm not asking you to weigh yourself and let me know if you're making progress each week. If you want to, you totally could, and I have a whole wealth of knowledge on health and nutrition and releasing weight and lifting weights and all that fun jazz But because it was a very important season of my life, and I still to this day think of those years very fondly and enjoy them, and I am so freaking proud of all my clients and all the success that they have had, and everything came down to simple decisions they made daily that added up over time. And they ended up having big results over a span of six months to a year So I love the play on words. So if Wednesday weigh-ins sound good to you, come back each week or every other week and come listen in on what's going on in my world. This week on Wednesday weigh-ins, I want to talk about things I have bought recently in twenty twenty-six that I absolutely love. These three items are found on no other than my Amazon Prime account. No, there's no affiliate link. I am someone who, if I really, really love something, I will share about it, and here are some things that I love. So let's get rolling. The first thing, I was looking for a skirt with shorts underneath, and I was talking to a friend, and she's like,"Oh, I have these," and she sent me the Amazon link. It's a three-pack of skirts for forty-five dollars. Yes, I said that correct. A three-pack of skirts for forty-five dollars. I believe they're the Amazon Basic brands. They're the quick-dry material. The color pack that I got was black, navy blue, and mint green. More like a, like a spearmint color. They are perfect for Zumba, the tennis court, the playground, the beach, literally any summer activity and/or just taking walks or hikes. They're comfortable, breathable, flowable. And I'm to the point where I really don't like shorts anymore. They're either too tight or too short, or they ride up, or they don't cover enough, or they show too much, and they just are annoying. So I feel like skirts are the perfect length to be flowy, fun, and comfortable and practical. I think the first time I wore it, other than Zumba, was we were at the farm visiting the horses and somebody was like,"Oh, she's always so fashionable," and that like j- just made me laugh because I'm like,"I feel like I am, but I'm not," because I was wearing the skirt with like a black hooded, like, sweatshirt, and then I had, like, these chunky black boots on that were for the farm, so they were like dirty and stuff. My fashion style, it's hilarious, I feel like. All right, the next thing on my list is my new podcast mic. I went season one, no mic, because I had the thought that a good mic Is expensive and it wasn't in my budget. Well, thanks to Amazon, I found a cute blue one that matches my phone, my laptop, and it was only$40. I'm like,"Oh my gosh, why did I wait so long to get a mic?" I feel like a professional. I'm not sure if you can tell the difference in sound quality from Season One to Season Two, but I can, and it sounds so much better. I was just using the, microphone off my iPhone, and yeah. So hopefully you can tell the difference. I also love that the mic is called Zeal Sound, Z-E-A-L Sound, and I just think it's a funny and cool name, and it's a great name. And I have been told before that I'm a person who has lots of zeal and charisma, so I just love the name, and it's very fitting for me. I did wanna get, like, hot pink, but I did not find one. I found one that was, like, a lighter rose gold pink color but wasn't my vibe. This blue is very pretty, and I like it. All right, and the last item, dun, dun, dun. You guessed it or maybe you didn't, but it's, if you've heard of a brick. Again, I thought for some reason I had in my mind that it was, like, a$300 expense. It was$60 off Amazon. I was like,"Are you kidding me?" And I do have a 10% discount code for you if you are interested in getting a brick, and I don't, like, get a commission off of it that I'm aware of. It just said in the app that I have, like, 10% off if I give it, this code to friends or whatever. Anyway, I'll put that in the show notes. But if you don't know what it is, it is a small rectangular, um, metal object that sticks onto your fridge. But you, like, get the brick, and then you scan, like, the QR code, and you download the app. And basically what it is, it, promotes better usage of our phones. So you download the app, and in the app, you can schedule which apps and when you want them to go on downtime. So for me, my problem was I was way too addicted to social media, and the biggest problem was between that, like, 10:30 PM and 8:30 AM hours where I would just, like, doom scroll way too much, and I was, like, losing sleep. And granted, if you sleep with someone who snores a lot, and then your cat also snores a lot, and it's really easy to be like,"Well, I'm not getting sleep anyway. I might as well pick up my phone and start scrolling." Um, instead of, like, really try to focus and get sleep, um, in between the snoring. And like, granted, I've tried so many things for trying to get sleep at night. Like, um, but I've, I've found that if I use... So anyway, so let's go back to this. So the Brick basically, the app blocks whatever apps you want blocked. So for me, it was Instagram and Facebook I blocked at night. And granted, I've only had the app for a week. And then if I were to want to unlock those apps during my set, quote-unquote,"brick time," my downtime, I would have to literally get up out of bed, go downstairs, and take my phone and tap it onto the brick to unlock it. But the Brick app is pretty smart because it has a, um, a counter on it. So, my timeframe is 10 hours. So let's say it's in the middle of my timeframe and I click onto the app before I unlock it. It says like, let's say it says five hours and, and mentally I'm like,"No, I don't wanna break my streak." Like, I wanna make it and complete it and, mentally win the prize of hitting my 10 hours of completion instead of, quote-unquote, like, not completing my 10 hours each day. Anyway, so it really, like, makes you take that extra layer of pausing and thinking before you're like,"Oh my God, I'm gonna go unlock my phone because I can't sleep and I'd rather be, like, doom scrolling instead of, trying to get to sleep." Um, so I hope that all makes sense. And yes, I know,"Shabana, why don't you just do downtime on your phone? You can totally just schedule that on your phone and put, like, a password in or have David create you a password." Well, there's no way in hell that I would give, allow David to create a password for my phone for downtime and only have him be the only one to know it. That would drive me absolutely insane. I want to have complete control over if I were to, want for some reason, like, have to be on social media in the middle of the night. Like, yeah, I doubt it, but at the same time, like, I know better than to wake him up in the middle of the night to ask him, like,"What's the password to my phone?" You know? Um, so the Brick gives me that choice of mentally like,"Do I get up out of bed? Do I go downstairs? Do I unlock my phone? Or do I just try and read a little bit, journal a little bit, maybe take another little bit of more of melatonin to get me sleeping or whatever?" So it really does- help. Like again, it's only been a couple days, and I am really proud of myself. I have not yet gone downstairs in the middle of the night to tap my phone onto the brick to unlock it. So really, really proud of myself for not doing that. And it really does help, because I feel like I have, detoxed myself from social media. Um, and during the day, I don't find myself doom scrolling as much, and it's really neat. Once you break an addiction, I know being in the personal training world, when clients would break that addiction from like sugar and wean themself off or of like carbs and/or, and/or like get on a schedule of going to the gym three times a week and getting like addicted to something better, like lifting weights or even just being in the gym and doing cardio or anything at all, it was like so awesome, um, to see them improve and stuff. And it was just like, oh my gosh, like the fog has lifted from your eyes, and you can see clearer, and you can hear better, and like the birds are chirping, and the sun is brighter. And you get like more ideas, and your thoughts are more clear, and you're having better relationship and more like intimate time with your spouse. And you have better conversations with your family and friends. Like, it really does if you could unzap yourself from being so glued to your phone, it's like there's a whole new world out there, which is literally right in front of your face, in your house, and in your community, and in your school, and in your job, and in your neighborhood. Like, there's so much out there for us to do, and I know that I've spent more time than I'd like to admit being on my phone. And so this is a great way if you're looking for a solution on how to detox from social media. It is a really good way to lock your phone and watch your brick time go up and try to reach your goals each day with how much time you're not spending on your phone and be in complete control of it. And more power to you if this is not your problem. But I know there's so many people in the world, so I'm just sharing my side of the story, and I appreciate you listening. And again, I'll put that 10% discount code in the show notes. And if you or a loved one, do struggle with it, um- Keep in mind, you can also schedule things during the workday. So let's say you are getting, too distracted at work watching cat videos or whatever, um, you can change that if you want to and be more productive at work and work towards that, let's say that raise you really want instead of being on YouTube watching cat videos that are not c- uh, productive. Um, all right. Okay, and the other thing I was gonna say is since I take a break from social media from 10:30 PM to 8:30 AM is what is my scheduled time, when I do jump back on social media during the other hours of the day, I found myself that I am doing much less and less time doom scrolling, and I'm getting, like, more bored with social media. Like, I'll be on a little bit. I'm like,"Okay, this is boring. Let's turn this off and go do something else." So it really is helping me, detox from social media and let go of, comparing and, yeah, all that fun stuff. Um, and it's... But the other thing is it's helping me, be more creative. So I'll, jump on, create something, push it out there, and then, be done for the day or for the time being. So I think those are the... That's it. Those are the three items that I wanted to share about that I love. It was the three-pack of the fun skirts with the shorts underneath. I know back in the day we called them skorts, and I just... That name is so weird, so I don't really like it. And then it was my new blue podcast mic from, what's it called? Zeal Sounds. And then the last thing was the brick. So it was a$45 item, a, a$40 item, and then a$60 item that, no, I did not buy them all at one time. It was, like, random stuff here and there, but I love all of them and wanted to share them all with you.
And before you go, of course you know I have some journal prompts for you. So here we go. What habits are draining your energy right now? What is one small change that could improve your life daily? Where am I spending t-too much time scrolling instead of creating? What actually makes me feel alive, creative, and connected? What distractions am I ready to release? What would happen if I trusted myself more? What am I consuming daily and how is it affecting me? What is one thing I can do this week to support my future self? And now, if you've been waiting for permission, here are some permission slips signed and delivered from my heart to yours. Let's get into it. Permission granted reminders of the week. Permission granted to buy the cute outfit and feel good in your body again. Permission granted to choose comfort and confidence at the same time. Permission granted to invest in yourself, your creativity, and your voice. Permission granted to stop waiting for perfect and start with what you can afford now. Permission granted to upgrade the things that help you show up more fully as yourself. Permission granted to outgrow habits that no longer support your peace. Permission granted to create more than you consume. Go ahead and check the show notes for energy readings. I'm offering a mini session that's about 15 minutes long and a full reading which is about 30 minutes long. All the details are in the show notes. So I would love to catch you sometime during the week for an energy reading one-on-one private Zoom session with me and/or otherwise I will catch you next time on our Manifesting Monday series.
