Joining us today is our friend Tati. She is an American who lives in the Netherlands. A few years ago we met through Trusted Housesitters, a service we used to find sitters when we are on the road in Italy or elsewhere

Since then, we have become friends, and she has come to Soriano several times.

And since Tati’s life is so interesting, we thought she would be a perfect guest on our show!

Note: This is not a complete transcript, but rather the show notes and Q&A that we wrote in preparation for the episode. (In fact, these are just the Q's - listen to the episode for the A's!)

1. You are an American, who lives and works in the Netherlands. Can you tell us a little about your work there?

2. What is it like for you to live in the Netherlands? What are some of the cultural differences that surprised you?

3. You have family living on several continents around the world: Europe, Africa, North America. That gives you a perspective on culture and world events that is more expansive than what most of us have. How do you think that informs your thinking? Do you ever wish you were all in the same place?

4. You travel all over the world. You’ve been to Iceland, France, the Philippines, Taiwan, Morocco, London, Spain, US, Cameroon, Switzerland…..maybe it’s easier to ask, are there any places you WON’T go?
With all these different experiences, are there any places that you see yourself living in, 20 years from now? What have you learned from your travels?

5. Is it true that you are a princess? If so I have to note for the record that you are remarkably well-mannered about the fact that our bathroom is the size of an airplane bathroom. Seriously though, what can you tell us about that, and do you feel it is an integral part of your identity?

6. What do you like about Soriano? This is your fourth visit here, and each time, you are without a car. We usually tell folks that they would want a car, but you’ve been happy to return so many times and just enjoy being here. Tell us about that:

7. You are the only other American we know that has imported several cats from the US. You know they have cats in Europe, right? :)
