Episode 15: A Restoring of All Things

In this episode of Today's First Steps, Apostle John Meador shares insights from over 55 years of serving God and reflects on a powerful dream that revealed a coming restoration of God's power, gifts, and anointing within the Church.

Drawing from Joel 2:23-25, Apostle John discusses God's promise to restore what has been lost and explains why believers must remain encouraged, prayerful, and faithful in their daily walk with God. He reminds us that spiritual growth doesn't happen by accident. It comes through prayer, studying God's Word, and maintaining a daily relationship with Him.

As God prepares His people for a fresh move of His Spirit, this message calls believers to awaken, seek God more deeply, and prepare their hearts for a season of restoration and renewal.

SPEAKER_00

Greetings, everyone. This is Apostle John Metter, and I'm glad to be able to come into your home, your automobile, your work, wherever you're listening to this podcast. I count it a great privilege to be able to speak to you today, and I thank every one of you for listening to this podcast. And all I'm trying to do in these podcasts is share a wisdom that God has given me through my years of walking with God. You know, I'm like I said, one of our previous podcasts, I am starting, I've started 55 years of serving God. And you know, my dad lived to be 88 years old, and he used to make a statement, and he said, You can't live this long and not learn something even if it's by accident. So that's the way I feel about ministry. You can't serve God all these years in ministry and not learn something even if it's by accident. But I thank God for what he's taught me. I thank him for his goodness. I thank him for his mercy. I thank God for the things he's done in my life and my ministry, and how he's gifted me and anointed me by the moving of his spirit and used me to help people. You know, ministry and being called a minister and into ministry is not for you to make a name for yourself. I see so many different uh people called into ministry, especially today, they're they're trying to preach these great messages, trying to uh it's almost like a motivational speaker has replaced ministry in the pulpit because there's so many ministers now that all they're doing is preaching good services. And and the reason I see is there's a lot of the older ministers being left behind. They're not called on anymore. And I got news for you there's a great treasure being overlooked in ministry this day and time, because ministry is not just about you preaching a good message or you trying to make a name for yourself. Ministry is exactly what it says. You are called to minister to the needs of the people, spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially, as God moves on you. So if you are called to ministry or you are just a believer that is striving to serve God, again I bring it to your attention, your first steps every day. Every day, your first steps is what is important with God. And today I want to share, you know, I talked about a dream in the last podcast about how God visited me in a dream, and he worked a great creative miracle in the dream, and I was ministering for someone, and in that meeting, that one service, God worked a notable miracle. And so the very next day, that pastor called me and wanted to know where I was, and I told him, I said, Well, I'm back home now. Why? He said, I have hundreds of people standing in my church lot and all the way to the road. They've come looking for healings and miracles and deliverance. And God let me know that there's fixing to be, and it's on, it's working, it's moving, and God is preparing people for a brand new move of God. Did you hear what I said? A brand new move of God. And I'm gonna read a scripture here. If I get to it in this podcast, if I don't, I'll get to it in the next podcast or two. But I want you to be encouraged. You know, I see so many people walking downtrodden. They're walking in discouragement. And when you walk in discouragement, if you ain't careful, you're gonna wind up walking in disobedience because there's nothing in God to be discouraged about. I mean, God is still in control, he's still doing miracles, he's still saving, healing, delivering, and it all depends on the vessel. And that's why I wanted to do this podcast was to keep people encouraged about their daily dedication. And it's essential in your relationship with God. You know, God may move on you and stir up a call in your life or stir up a working of his spirit in your life, but you're the one that's got to seek God. You're the one that's got to find out what this call and what this anointing and what this moving of the spirit is that God has put in your life, and that only comes through prayer and seeking God. Your relationship with God depends on prayer, and your growth in God depends on studying that word and seeking the face of God and getting God, pressing God to reveal Himself to you. So it's time for every one of you that listens to this podcast to let the Spirit of God stir you up, let it awaken you, let it shake you, let it move you because God is in the process of preparing a people to take them into a brand new move of God. And I'm gonna go to the Word of God here in the book of Joel, and this is something God spoke to me. You know, after he revealed that dream to me that there was a restoration of the gifts and the anointing, and he was gonna bring back a church likened unto the book of Acts. And then that pastor saw those people, and God told me that's a new generation. A couple of weeks after this, I was ministering in a church in Fort at our church in Fort Payne, Alabama, Word of Faith Deliverance Tabernacle, there with Brother Michael Harris and Sister Patty. They're the pastors there. If you're in that area, the church is located at 1814 Alabama Highway, 176, Fort Payne, Alabama. And I was ministering there, I believe it was on the 7th of June, just a couple of weeks after God had given me that great miracle down at Brother Mark Walder's Church in Jasper, Alabama, just outside of Birmingham. And the Lord had opened my understanding to that dream that there was a new move of God being developed. And this is what the Lord gave me, and this comes to you. The scripture I'm gonna read is from the book of Joel. It's the second chapter, and I'm gonna just start with verse 23. It says, Be glad in ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God, for he hath given you the former rain moderately. And you know, we refer to the former rain as the outpouring of the Holy Ghost that came on the day of Pentecost. And he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain. Well, the the rain is what happens in our lives on a daily basis, which is the working of the Spirit of God. But the latter rain is the fullness of the Christ being revealed in us and leading us into the wisdom and knowledge and understanding to become a vessel for the fullness of the Spirit. So that is the latter reign. And this is something God is getting ready to bring in. We've had the we've had the former reign ever since the day of Pentecost. Now, I'm not telling you we've got that working of the fullness of it because we don't see the church like was developed in the book of Acts. So God is going to do this thing in stages. He ain't gonna just jump in here and pour this all out on us at once. He's gonna start bringing us back to a restoring of what's been taken away from us. So, but he said he would do this in the first month. And I always took the first month to be literal, but God told me the first month is a new beginning. It don't matter to God when it happens, or it don't matter to it, shouldn't matter to you when it happens. The first month is a new beginning. So you need to prepare yourself for a new beginning with God. And it goes on in verse 24, and it says, And the floor shall be full of wheat, and the fat shall overflow with wine and oil. Now, this is talking about spiritual. This ain't talking about natural, but you go on to verse 25, and this is what God spoke to me at the church in Fort Payne, Alabama on June the 7th. This was two weeks after we had ministered for Brother Mark Waldrup and Jasper. This was when God opened my understanding to this dream and showed me a uh a restoration and a brand new move of God and a new generation being reached. So in verse 25, this is what God spoke to me on June this the morning of June the 7th. And I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten, the canker worm and the caterpillar and the palmer worm, my great army which I sent among you. And I want you to pay attention to the first few words in that verse, verse 25, and I will restore to you the years. So you need to get in your word, you need to start studying and praying and ask God to get something moving in your life, because what is being put in motion is a restoring of all things. It's a restoring to take us back to the move of God in the early church and then bring us forward and prepare us for the full working of God's spirit in our lives. So don't forget your daily steps. Don't forget today's first steps, and that is your daily dedications and relationship with God. I'm praying there's something being said that's stirring up your heart, that's awakening your spirit because mine is stirred up. Mine is excited, and I know God's fixing to do something that's never been done before. And so many people have settled down in religion and they just go through forms and they they they they just do things that's ordinary. But God's not ordinary, and God's not going to keep doing things like you expect him to and like you want him to, but there's something brand new fixing the happen in God. And I pray this word's been a blessing to you. I pray God takes a hold of your hearts and your minds and your spirits and brings a stir and starts conditioning you for a restoring of all things.
