Have you ever heard a wellness tip, thought that sounds helpful and then life got busy and nothing actually changed? You are not alone.

If you keep thinking ‘why does this feel so hard right now?’ you might just be in a different season. That’s completely normal. This $7 Season Mapping Quiz will help you work out where you are and what to focus on next.

Let’s Talk Integration: The Secret Ingredient to Real Change

In this episode, I share the intentional structure that sits behind every GA Wellness episode through the Learn → Try → Become framework.

This simple cycle helps you move from information overload into small, steady changes that feel doable in your real life. You will hear how this framework supports your nervous system, why repetition rewires your brain and how the HNSF pillars naturally fit into this rhythm. This episode will help you understand why change has felt hard in the past and show you how to build habits that finally last.

📋 What we covered:

  • Why good intentions often fade once real life gets busy and how structure helps things stick.
  • Why integration is the bridge between learning and becoming.
  • My McLaren moment (hear the full story in Episode 003).
  • Learn → Try → Become explained, inspired by Knowing → Doing → Being.
  • What each phase feels like in real life (and why Try is messy on purpose).
  • Neuroplasticity simplified and looping back to Episode 007.
  • Gentle experiments that helped me: gym clothes to bed, intermittent fasting trials.
  • HNSF examples across hydration (E002), nutrition (E003), self-care (E004), and fitness (E005).
  • Your weekly mini-plan: 1 thing you learnt, 1 thing you’ll try and how you’ll notice yourself becoming.
  • Honouring the deeper roots of this framework and how they shape GA Wellness.

Opening

Ever catch yourself scrolling or listening to yet another wellness tip and thinking, “Oh, that’s interesting.” Then life gets busy and it never actually turns into a real habit. Yep, you’re not alone. I’ve totally been there too.

So today we’re not just pulling back the curtain, we’re gonna pull the whole thing down. I’m showing you my absolute favourite framework for turning good intentions into routines that actually stick. No hustle, no overwhelm, just real life and honestly, you deserve more than just a brain full of wellness ideas. You deserve to feel them, to live them, to become your healthiest, happiest self, for real, with way less stress and way more ease. So get comfy, grab your mug and let’s finally make the shift from just knowing to actually living it.

Podcast Intro

Welcome to the GA Wellness podcast, Small Steps, Lasting Change. I'm your host, Georgia Ann, health coach, solo mum and a woman who's lived through the chaos, the curveballs and the craving for something steadier. After 20 years in the fitness industry and my own journey through grief, motherhood and starting over, I've learned that real wellness isn't about doing more. It's about doing what matters. Each week, we cut through the noise and get real with simple, doable tools to help you feel stronger, calmer and more like you. This isn't about perfection. It's about steady soul led progress because you deserve wellness that fits into your full life, not just one version of it. Let's dive in.

Welcome In and Setting the Scene

Hey, lovely. First of all, thank you for tuning in. I truly love that you’re here taking a little time for yourself and hanging out with me today. Have you got your beverage in hand? For me, you know it’s a chai.

Let’s get comfy, curl up on the couch together and have a proper catch up. This episode is actually a little bit special to me.

Have you ever listened to this podcast and thought, “Wait, does Georgia have a secret recipe for these episodes?” Or maybe you’ve noticed it feels a little bit like a Netflix series where you need the recap to really know what’s coming next. You’re not imagining it.

Today I’m letting you in on the whole behind the scenes magic. We’re doing things a bit differently. I’m pulling back the whole curtain and giving you the VIP pass so you can see how this podcast really works, why it’s structured the way it is and how it’s all designed to help you move from information overload, which let’s be honest, we’re all drowning in, to actual gentle integration.

Spoiler alert. It’s not about adding more noise or stacking up another wellness tip. It’s about helping you make real change in a way that fits your actual life. I’m so excited to finally share this with you.

Quick Check-In and Episode 008 Recap

First, let’s do a quick check in because last week’s episode was a big one emotionally. We talked about the myth of balance. We went deep into mum guilt and that pressure that creeps in and tells us we’re meant to have it all together, all the time.

We pulled apart why these expectations are so unrealistic and honestly unfair. I invited you to pause, listen in and reflect on what season you’re actually in right now.

If you already took that moment for yourself, I hope you found a little clarity, or at least some self compassion, no matter what season you’re moving through and if you managed to download the journal prompts I popped in the show notes, I’d love to know. Did you use them? Were they helpful?

Don’t be shy. Let me know. Send me a DM or tag me so I can celebrate those little wins with you. If you missed last week’s episode, go back and give it a listen. It’ll set you up beautifully for today’s chat and help you recognise when you’re ready for the next step in your wellness journey.

The Real Problem: Not Lack of Info, Lack of Structure

Let’s be real for a second. Doesn’t it feel like there’s just so much information out there these days? Podcasts, blogs, TikToks and those Insta wellness gurus. It’s never ending.

Sometimes my brain just feels fried from all the wellness noise. Like, do we really need one more top 10 tips reel? I think not.

I don’t think most of us are struggling because we need more information. What we’re actually craving is structure. A clear, simple framework to cut through all the noise and actually do something with what we learn.

I can’t tell you how many times the ladies in my Nervous System Reset program have said, “Georgia, just gimme the roadmap. I don’t want more overwhelm. I just want steps I can follow.”

I get it. Steps, not stress but here’s the thing, even more important than structure is integration.

The Truth About Real Change

Here’s the truth, lovely. Nothing changes until you take what you know and make it real in your life.

That only happens when you realise something needs to shift, understand what’s going on in your body in a way that makes sense and then take an actual step, no matter how tiny, towards change.

Let me tell you about my own aha moment. A few years ago, a friend looked me dead in the eye and said, “Georgia, your body is basically a McLaren sports car.” You know if you’ve heard me talk about this before, it’s my favourite sports car.

She said, “You wouldn’t fill it with regular fuel. Right? If you want it to run well, you have to give it premium.” That was a massive light bulb moment for me.

If you want the full juicy story, head back to episode three. That was the shift. Not just learning about nutrition, but feeling why I wanted to fuel my body better and then finally taking action.

The Secret Sauce: Learn → Try → Become

So let’s talk about the real secret sauce behind GA Wellness and every episode in this podcast. If you’ve ever thought, “How does Georgia keep this feeling so real and doable?” here’s my little secret.

It’s simple, practical and it’s a method I call Learn, Try, Become.

I want to be clear though. This didn’t just pop out of thin air. It’s inspired by something much deeper. The culturally responsive framework known as Knowing, Doing, Being.

That framework, with its roots in Indigenous knowledge systems and ways of learning, honours not just what we know, but how we live it and embody it. I have so much respect for the depth and wisdom there. Learn, Try, Become is my way of weaving that heart and intention into everything we do at GA Wellness.

Here’s how it plays out.

Learn is the first spark of awareness. It’s when you start to notice something needs to change, but you’re not sure how yet. This phase is full of research, soul searching and gently building awareness around habits or patterns that might not be serving you anymore.

Try is where things get real and yes, it can feel vulnerable. This is where you experiment with small changes in your habits, mindset or routines. You test what works, you stumble sometimes, you build momentum sometimes.

Become is where those new habits start to feel like second nature. You find your rhythm. Your identity begins to shift. You show up in a way that feels more grounded, more freeing, more you.

Like the wisdom of Knowing, Doing, Being reminds us, this isn’t a checklist or a straight line. You keep cycling. Learning, trying, becoming again and again through every season and chapter. It’s a living practice, not a finish line.

The Science: Why Your Brain Loves This Framework

Okay, let’s get a little nerdy. Our brains love structure. They light up when things are predictable. Your nervous system feels safest when it knows what’s coming next.

If you listened to episode seven, you’ll remember we talked about habits and neuroplasticity. Your brain can rewire and build new pathways, no matter your age or how many times you’ve “failed” before. Change happens in cycles, not overnight. Real lasting change needs loops and practice.

First comes Learn, where your brain gets curious and thinks, “Alright, maybe this can help me.”

Then comes Try, where you experiment and build new neural pathways. Every attempt is practice, even if it feels awkward.

Then comes Become, where the new thing starts to feel like you. Not a chore. Not something you have to remember.

Here’s where a lot of wellness programs miss the mark. They throw information at you and expect instant results, but real talk, your nervous system needs safety, repetition and permission to experiment and sometimes flop with zero shame.

Try is where most people get stuck because it’s clunky and messy. That’s also where your brain rewires itself and real change starts to stick.

The Try Phase: Where the Magic Lives

I’ve learned to love this phase. It’s uncomfortable sometimes, but it’s where you break out of old ruts and play a bit. Experiment. Test. See what feels good for you.

Like who knew sleeping in my gym clothes would make morning movement feel a hundred times easier for me? Or that experimenting with intermittent fasting could help me tune in to what my body actually wants?

Trying new things isn’t about fixing yourself. It can be fun. Treat it like an experiment, not a pass or fail test. Sometimes you stumble on something that clicks and suddenly your try becomes your new normal.

That’s why I built this podcast and every GA Wellness program, around Learn, Try, Become. The goal is to move you out of overwhelm and into a gentle process that actually lasts. Progress, not perfection and you’re allowed to loop back as many times as you need. I do that too.

How Learn → Try → Become Shows Up in HNSF

This framework is woven into everything here. Let’s use the HNSF method as an example.

Hydration: You listen to episode two and you’re like, “Okay, I get why water matters.” That’s Learn. Then Try is carrying your water bottle for a week or adding lemon or herbal tea. Then Become is when you reach for water without thinking.

Nutrition: Episode three gives you the gut health facts. That’s Learn. Try might be swapping your arvo snack or experimenting with a gut loving recipe. Become is when you start choosing foods that make you feel good because you want to, not because you should.

Self care: Episode four explains why self-care matters for your nervous system. That’s Learn. Try is carving out 10 minutes a day for journalling, breathing or sitting in the sunshine with your tea, no guilt. Become is when self-care isn’t a “should.” It’s just part of how you care for yourself.

Fitness and movement: Episode five is joyful movement. Learn is getting curious about what feels good, not what’s trending. Try might be swapping a gym session for a walk, or dancing while dinner’s cooking. Become is when movement feels joyful, not punishing.

Every episode and tool is designed to take you through that cycle. Learn the why, try it in real life, become the version of you who integrates it without guilt or overwhelm. I’m right there with you, using this framework daily as I build GA Wellness and move through my own seasons.

Practical: How to Use Learn → Try → Become This Week

Let’s get practical because I want you to use this, not just listen and forget.

Learn: Be intentional about what you’re soaking up. From this podcast, a book, a conversation, or your own reflections. Pause and ask, “What’s one nugget here for me?”

Try: Do not change everything at once. Pick one tiny tweak, one gentle experiment for the week. Be curious and pressure free.

Become: Notice shifts over time. Reflect on what feels good, what’s working and celebrate the tiny wins. That’s where the magic happens.

Journal prompt for the week:
What’s one thing you’ve learnt lately from this podcast or your own life?
What’s one small thing you’re willing to try this week with no pressure?
How can you notice the shifts as you become the woman you want to be?

Integration is the bridge between learning and becoming. Do not just collect information. Let it sink in. Feel the why. Take the next step.

Recap and Honouring the Roots

Let’s recap what we covered today. We did not just pull back the curtain, we took the whole thing down. You now know the anatomy of this podcast and the intentional method behind every GA Wellness episode.

Learn, Try, Become is not a catchy slogan. It’s the framework that helps wellness move from ideas in your head to real lasting change in your life.

I also want to honour where this began. The inspiration came from Knowing, Doing, Being, a culturally responsive framework rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems and deep community wisdom. I am grateful to respectfully weave that spirit and intention into everything we do at GA Wellness and into this podcast.

We’re here to honour what we learn, embody it and live it together.
