Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do at the end of the year… is pause.

In today’s mini episode, we’re not going deep into science, biohacking, supplements, or nervous system rewiring. No protocols. No homework. No pressure to “fix” yourself before January 1.

We simply wanted to say thank you.

Over the past few months, The Health Hunt community has grown across cities, states, and even countries and somehow, you found us, pressed play, and chose to spend part of your life here. Whether you’re navigating chronic symptoms, burnout, autoimmune issues, sleep struggles, anxiety, or just trying to feel better in your body…

➡️ You’re not behind. You’re not broken. You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.

In this episode, we talk about:

✨ Why we launched this podcast (and how scary it was)
✨ The surprising places listeners are tuning in from
✨ Why health conversations can feel lonely and why they shouldn’t
✨ Why rest, breathing room, and slowing down matter right now
✨ What’s coming in the new year guests, deeper conversations, and more honesty

This little pause is our way of saying:

Thank you for listening.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for trusting us with your stories.

Wherever you are , driving, walking, cooking, or awake at 3 a.m. because sleep is being weird, we’re really glad you’re here with us.

Take care of yourself. Rest when you can. And we can’t wait to continue this journey with you in the new year.

Connect with the Health Hunt

SPEAKER_00

Hey everybody,

Welcome & Why This Episode Is Different

SPEAKER_00

welcome back to the Health Hunt. I'm Sandy, here with my co-host Dan. And today's episode is a little different.

SPEAKER_01

This isn't a deep dive. There's no science rabbit hole. We're not asking you to overhaul your nervous system before January 1st.

SPEAKER_00

No, no homework. If you're listening to this on or close to when the episode is released, it's the end of 2025. And because we know most of you are getting ready for New Year's, we just wanted to show up, say thank you, and take a moment to pause with you as this year comes to a close.

Launching the Podcast: Vulnerable & Scary

SPEAKER_01

Honestly, when we launched this podcast, uh, we had no idea if anyone would listen. Um, so it was quite a uh adventure into the abyss. It was definitely scary to put ourselves out in such a vulnerable way, uh, and we really had no idea what to expect.

SPEAKER_00

No, no idea. But we did it, and I'm kind of proud of us for doing it. And here we are. We have listeners across multiple countries, cities, time zones, people we know, people we don't, all choosing to spend part of their time with us. And I can tell you, it's definitely more than the three

Our Listeners Around the World

SPEAKER_00

or four listeners we joke about. And that's not something we take lightly. It's been less than two months, and we've reached people well beyond our immediate circle and those that feel obligated to support us. Hi, mom and sisters. Looking at the stats, which I do probably on a regular basis, maybe hourly, because I'm a forensic accountant and I geek out over data. I can tell you that we have listeners in 13 countries and close to a hundred different cities. And that actually kind of like blows my mind. I just have to also give a shout out to whoever lives in West Lothian and Mid-Lothian, because I'm imagining that you live somewhere in Middle Earth in a castle with a pet dragon. And if I'm wrong, like feel free to just let me keep that fantasy. But if you want to talk about castle life, I did in fact live in a castle one summer, but I'm gonna save that for another story for another day.

SPEAKER_01

There was a lot there. I have now lived in a castle, and anytime someone mentions Middle Earth, as our more than three or four listeners will know, I'm I geek out on anything at science fiction or during that period of time. So this is uh this is

Permission to Pause & Rest

SPEAKER_01

good stuff. So listen, we know this time of year can be strange and busy. Everyone's routines are off, schedules are chaotic. So we're giving ourselves and you a little breathing room. There's pressure to reflect, pressure to reset, pressure to be grateful, pressure to be productive. And honestly, sometimes your nervous system is just like, can we lie down? So instead of pushing out another episode, we wanted to do the opposite.

SPEAKER_00

We wanted to say thank you for listening, for sharing episodes with others, for messaging us, for trusting us with your health stories. And if you're new here, welcome. You're not

You’re Not Behind — You’re Not Broken

SPEAKER_00

behind, you're not broken, you're exactly where you're supposed to be.

SPEAKER_01

As we head into the new

What’s Coming Next Year

SPEAKER_01

year, we're really excited about what's coming. We have conversations with amazing guests lined up, including practitioners, experts, and people with powerful stories, deeper topics we can't wait to explore. And more of the real, honest, sometimes messy conversations about health that we started this podcast for, and of course, continued humor. But for today, this is just a pause.

SPEAKER_00

You know, when we conceptualize this podcast, we knew we wanted to share our journeys and all of the things that we've learned. And most importantly, we wanted to connect with others because we know that health issues or even just a desire to feel better can be a lonely and frustrating place. I'm personally

Gratitude, Community & Thank You

SPEAKER_00

grateful to all of the people who have reached out to me and shared their own struggle with chronic conditions. And let me know that hearing my story and many of the topics that we've covered have made them feel less alone. Honestly, I couldn't ask for anything else, and it's very humbling. And this confirms that these conversations need to be had. So thank you so much to everyone who's reached out by email or DM'd us with stories, topics, suggestions. Please keep all of that coming. So wherever you're listening from, whether you're driving, lying down on the couch, walking the dog, or awake at 3 a.m. because sleep is being weird, we're really glad you're here.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you everyone for being part of the health hunt.

SPEAKER_00

Take care of yourselves, rest when you can, and we'll see you in the new year to figure all this health stuff out together.
