In this episode of The Midlife Vitality Project, Joanne sits down with Lisa Brisindi and Beth Lambert, the founders of Ripple Affect Momentum Coaching, to explore a framework that is quietly changing the way women in midlife navigate life's most challenging seasons.

Lisa and Beth are social workers turned retreat and workshop facilitators who have built their business around one powerful belief: that healing happens one belief, one person and one ripple at a time.

After years of working with people through some of life's hardest moments, they channeled that experience into something practical and profoundly accessible — the RIPPLE Framework, a six-stage tool designed to help women work through any challenge, whether it is emotional, relational, physical, or professional.

In this conversation, Joanne walks through all six stages of the framework alongside Lisa and Beth and reveals how each stage maps directly onto the work she does with her own clients through The Metabolic Balance Program. The parallel is striking: two completely different modalities, guided by the same instinctive path toward lasting, sustainable change.

Beth also shares her personal experience as a current Metabolic Balance client and how she has applied the RIPPLE Framework to her own health journey — a candid and moving account that brings everything discussed in this episode to life.

This is an episode that goes beyond nutrition. It speaks to the whole woman — the one who is exhausted, overwhelmed, and quietly putting herself last — and reminds her that she is not broken. She simply needs the right tools, the right support, and permission to make herself a priority.

Whether you are struggling with your health, your relationships, your confidence or juggling the caregiver role with trying to be your best self while navigating the weight of everything midlife asks of you, this episode will leave you feeling seen, hopeful, and ready to take that first honest step inward.

Hey there! If you're exhausted, foggy, or stuck in a body that just does not feel like yours anymore, you are in the right place, my friend. My name is Joanne Willis. I am a registered holistic nutritionist, cancer survivor, and fellow parametopause warrior. And I am here to help you understand what's really going on inside that body of yours so you can finally figure it all out, put the pieces together, and feel better again naturally. Every week on the Midlife Vitality Project, we'll dig into the real reasons behind midlife weight gain, fatigue, mood swings, and all those other weird and wacky symptoms of perimetopause, and all the things your doctor might have told you are just aging. We'll explore how to rebalance your metabolism, support those hormones, and bring your blood chemistry back into alignment so you can feel vibrant, clear, and confident in your body once again. Because midlife isn't the end, my friend. It's the beginning of your strongest, healthiest, most powerful chapter yet. Are you ready? Let's go. Hello everyone, welcome back to the Midlife Vitality Project podcast. This is gonna be a fun and exciting episode. In all honesty, I have been thinking about this episode and visualizing it since I met two lovely ladies back in April at a health and wellness fair, an event, a speaking event that I was attending. And we just clicked, these ladies, you are gonna absolutely love. I have gotten to know, I've had the pleasure of getting to know them since April. And we, the more we get to know each other, the more we realize just how much we have in common when it comes to what we want, what our purpose is in life, our morals, our ethics, our vision for how we want to be able to help women. Well, we want to help everybody. We're just those kind of people, but we really have kind of honed in in our own businesses on how we want to support women in midlife. And a big part of that is because all of us are women in midlife ourselves. So we have gone through our own experiences and we realize the extra challenges that many of us, many of you, likely face. And so, in our own ways, through our own businesses, this has become what matters so, so much to us. So I knew very early on I wanted to introduce Lisa and Beth, and I'm gonna let them talk about themselves and introduce themselves shortly. I wanted to introduce them to you. If you are local to the uh Southwestern Ontario area, because I know we do have listeners from all over the world. So this is specifically for those Canadians, our lovely Canadians here, although I'm sure everybody across the world is gonna learn a lot from these ladies. What they teach is truly phenomenal. And I think what you're going to notice, what I certainly notice, is that what they teach and how they teach, what has become the spine of their business model and how they want to really essentially change the world when it comes to supporting women in midlife. It's something that I have innately been following myself in my own business without it having a name. These ladies were smart enough and intuitive enough to give it a name, and it's the back end of what they do. So without further ado, I want to first and foremost introduce you to Lisa and Beth from Ripple Effect Momentum Coaching. I'm going to introduce them. I just want them to say a quick hello. So can you guys hear me?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we can hear you.

SPEAKER_01

There they are. They even speak in unison. I tell you, they these two are lovely. They're like, they're like twins, bookends. They just they just get each other, and I think that's why everything works so well. So thank you so much, ladies, for joining us on this podcast. As I said, I've been looking forward to this episode, and I know we've been planning it for a while. And over the course of the spring and summer, I have already seen some of the work that you've been doing. I know you're fresh out of a retreat that you just did, and that went phenomenally well. So let us first and foremost, let's start with some great news. I want you to tell me what a little bit about Ripple Effects Momentum Coaching, who you are, and what it is that you do specifically, why you help the women in midlife, why that is really where your passion lies. And then tell us a bit about this retreat that you just had.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, Joanne, thank you so much for having us on. We're very excited to be here today. I'm Beth.

SPEAKER_00

Um and I'm Lisa, and I don't know how we can follow up the wonderful introduction that you just did. Oh, easy to do, easy to do.

SPEAKER_02

So we created Ripple Effect Momentum Coaching um as a way to help people heal one person, one ripple at a time. Lisa and I met in college uh decades ago. Long time, long time ago, when we were in our 20s. Uh and we have wanted to do this business um since we were in our 20s. And we actually started it after we finished college, and for lots of reasons it was put on the back burner. And I know that feeling. We have brought it back to life. So um what we offer is workshops and retreats for women ages 40 to 65 or older who are just you know struggling with that that midlife phase. Got it. And um we basically focus on self-care and empowerment of women.

SPEAKER_01

That's right. Love it. Absolutely love it. And I know that you what we're going to be talking about primarily in this episode is the framework that you have designed, as I said, that just innately is something that I follow. And one of the first things I know we when we started talking and you shared your framework with me, I said, Oh my goodness, I can see how this can play out in so many ways. Like there are so many different challenges that everybody struggles with, not just women in midlife, but most especially women in midlife, right? We have those, you know, we have the mental and the emotional challenges that come along with our changing body. We are often navigating career changes, we're navigating family changes, teenagers, and then the teenagers growing up and leaving home and the empty nest. And all of this is a lot for women in midlife to struggle with. And I think sometimes we just don't know how to deal with it. It's so overwhelming. And I know that that's why you have created this beautiful framework, which really does flow into so many different areas of our life. So before we we're definitely gonna go stage by stage, we're gonna dig into this framework. But first and foremost, can you tell us what the Ripple framework actually is and why you created it, and why you believe this is what creates momentum that truly lasts.

SPEAKER_02

So the Ripple Framework is a tool that we created to break down in really simple steps how to work through a problem or set a goal. And the way we've created our framework is that it spells Ripple and each letter has questions or prompts for introspection. So it's another tool that we can all add to our toolbox to help us with different challenges in life.

SPEAKER_01

Love it, love it. And I just realized we skipped over hearing about the retreat. So before we dive into the steps of the retreat, uh of the Ripple framework, explain how it how your retreat focused on the framework, the one that you just did and where it was. Because I I'd love, I still haven't heard about how it went myself. We haven't had a chance to catch up. So share a bit about that experience because I know there was some fantastic feedback from it. I saw it all over socials.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was a great day. Uh, everybody participated so well. And one of the uh pieces of feedback that we got was, you know, I expected to have a nice time. I expected to have a nice day. I didn't expect to learn something. So that's a really great, great feedback that we received. Um, we did uh our power plan. And what does that entail? Well, we we have you take away three different things. First, you have a power word, then you have a power promise, and then you have a power pouch. And we use our ripple framework to go through different scenarios. Um, and people participate and can give us a different scenario, and we can work through it with the group and come to an answer and come to empowerment for you.

SPEAKER_02

So we basically teach others our ripple framework so that they can walk away with a how-to tool that they can use for whatever challenges they're faced with. And so they learn our ripple framework. Um, they've created a power word, they've created a power promise to themselves, and they've created a power pouch that they carry with them as a reminder, as a reminder of the day and the promise that they've made to themselves.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, so they can bring themselves back to that promise and keep empowering themselves.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh, I love it. Now I'm curious, and I know that this is going to help a lot of our listeners really feel like, oh, this is definitely something that could work for me. What types of challenges did you notice in your audience or with other women that you're working with, did they tend to come to you with where they then are able to apply the ripple framework? What types of what are the most common challenges that you see?

SPEAKER_02

So um, one woman brought a challenge of an employment situation uh that we did the the ripple framework for and worked through. Um just as an aside, I was an employment counselor for 14 years, so I still have a a little bit of a dabble in that world.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yes, it comes in handy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so I was a bit excited about that one. Um we also had somebody who was struggling with creating their power word, and yeah, that was a big struggle for them.

SPEAKER_00

That was a big struggle, and um, so we we really just had to talk it through. There was a lot of questions we had to we had to ask and get them to focus. And she uh we we threw out some words for her and she just wasn't connecting, and then suddenly she got it and she I know I know what my word is, and she ended up with the word balance. Ah yeah, and as far as I know, she still looks at that every day. Oh, that's amazing! Yeah, that's I've been a class with her, and she yeah, she does, she looks at it every day.

SPEAKER_02

And Joanne, as you know, as you know, um I am participating in the metabolic balance program. That's right, you are and doing very well, I might add. Thank you. So I actually used my example um of going through the program and used the ripple framework to show the group how it how I've applied the ripple framework to going through the metabolic balance program.

SPEAKER_01

That is, I love that. Absolutely, and that's where I think we initially saw the alignment, wasn't it? When we were sitting down learning about each other's business and what we do, and you're walking me through the framework, and I'm sitting there going ding, ding, these light bulbs are going on. I'm like, okay, well, that's what I do at the beginning, you know, when so I'm gonna kind of just throw my little examples in, which probably are quite familiar for you then, Beth, because you were doing it, you're doing it yourself. But how I certainly apply the Ripple framework in my coaching with my clients. And as you said, there's so many other challenges that women are struggling with. So, what other types do you see? And then I want us to really dive into this framework because I think we've teased it enough that people are gonna want to know. What else do you see that where it really helps women that are struggling with what are they with the challenges?

SPEAKER_00

Well, people trying not to um the emptiness thing and aging parents. So parents is a big a big deal. Um, we're taking care of our own parents in some cases, right? So role reversal and yeah, the ripple framework will work for that to kind of recognize, well, I'm not gonna no more, I'm not gonna give any more yet. But um, that was that was a big one with aging parents.

SPEAKER_01

That's a good point, too. And these are all, unfortunately, they are things that too many of us have to deal with, right? Um, so if you've got anybody in your camp like Lisa or Beth, that can really help you to navigate these challenges, it certainly makes it a lot more doable and still be able to maintain who you are as well, right? Instead of because we often lose ourselves in these challenges.

SPEAKER_02

That's exactly right.

SPEAKER_01

We do. That is true, yes. Yes, awesome. All right, okay. So without further ado, as I said, I think we've teased it enough. I want you to explain in more detail exactly what the Ripple framework is. So start with the R.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, terrific. R is what's really going on. It's recognize, recognize what's really going on in the situation. Name it, name the emotions, name the challenges, and ask what am I noticing in myself right now.

SPEAKER_01

Love it, love it. So I know for me, like when we you explained that to me, I said as I heard this light bulb go on, and I immediately thought that is the first step that I have to take with my clients. Any client that starts the metabolic balance program with me, the first thing we need to do is make sense of the symptoms. As I'm sure many women in midlife know, these symptoms can be overwhelming, they often don't make sense, they don't feel connected. And a lot of times we blame ourselves for these symptoms and we take all that emotional and mental load on board too. So I work with a lot of women that come to me with fatigue and cravings and bloating, poor sleep, mood swings, brain fog, you name it. Sure we've all experienced it to some degree. And yeah, exactly, exactly. And the thing is, is that first we need to break that initial belief. They need to recognize, right, what is going on, what common belief did they have? And a lot of women believe that they don't have control over how they feel. Perimenopause is perimenopause. Every woman goes through it, every woman's gonna be at this age. We're meant to feel exhausted, we're meant to struggle with our weight, and that's not the case. So the recognize is that work which it's like the the base of everything, right? You have we have to first and foremost understand that we do have so much more control over our situation, whatever the challenge is, and that we aren't passive bystanders, and instead, there is so much that we can do. And I know, like I said, for me from a nutrition perspective, it's all about helping a woman see what those symptoms mean and look at them as clues rather than character flaws. And then that recognition recognition is all often the first turning point. So love it, love it, right?

SPEAKER_00

As women, we do we tend to put ourselves last, right? Um behind our parents, our partners, our children, our jobs, our friends, and in busyness of life, we tend to either ignore what's happening to ourselves or um we put off addressing it, both the emotional and the physical. So change starts with the awareness, and um we need to be conscious of telling ourselves or telling everyone that we're fine when we're really not. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Nah, that's a good point. I was just gonna ask, what's the most common pattern or belief that you often hear that women just can't quite see until you help them to recognize it?

SPEAKER_00

Well, everybody says they're they're fine, but that's the standard answer, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. And I think that's all too common, unfortunately. I love it. I love it. I think you can't do anything else until you really nail that recognize. I love the R. Love it. So moving on. So the I in the Ripple framework is investigate. So explain a bit more about that.

SPEAKER_02

So um, investigate is really about looking at what is underneath whatever's going on. So, what thoughts, fears, habits are fueling the issue? Um, is this a one-time problem or is this a recurring pattern? And um I think by digging a little deeper and really asking yourself some questions, you can start to understand maybe how you got to where you are so that you can change it.

SPEAKER_01

Love it. And what would you say, can you think of um like a revealing question? Like, what would be an example of a question that you would ask at this stage to help them to do that investigating, to help them, but the ones that really open things up for them?

SPEAKER_02

So you can you can start by asking, like, what are you feeling right now? What has changed? Is there anything you would like to change if you had help changing it? Um, what are you willing to change? Because sometimes people know what they need to change, but they're not even willing to go there, they're just not ready. They're not willing. Um, so investigate is about finding the thing that is off balance and a focus on changing whatever that thing is. It's a it's a strength to ask help.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it very much is. I love it, love it. And again, so when we were talking, I said, oh, I get it, I get the investigate stage. That is probably the core of what I do uh working with women in the metabolic balance program. We have to, once they recognize they have control, once they realize that there's a reason they're having these symptoms and that they are connected, now we can have a deeper conversation because they're open to it, right? And all of a sudden you see that excitement in these women. And for me, going deeper to understand the root cause is exactly what we're doing. And we use blood work for that and we do the symptomatology and we look at their health history. And yes, of course, genetics comes into it. And what medications are they're on, lifestyle factors, what is their schedule? Are they a night shift worker? All of these things matter, and we need to really dig to understand the person, right? And then we can identify for me, it's what we call metabolic dysfunction, and we look for where we have these metabolic imbalances that are driving the symptoms. And when we help them connect the dots, this for many women, I think it's the first time they feel like anyone has truly listened to them and has truly dug deep into them. I'm not throwing a one size fits all solution at them. This is all about them and they feel it. Do you feel that too when you're working with women?

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, we we sort of approach women with where they are at, like the individual in front of us. Where are you at? Let's help you get to where you want to go. What uh what healing do you feel like you need into in that's whatever whatever healing is to you? That could be anything, it's whatever it means to you. But our goal is to help people who are hurt stop hurting so that they can heal. And it's again, it's one person, one ripple at a time.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I love it. That ripple word, you guys nailed it with this for sure. So the P, the first P is plan. And this is exactly what you just said. This is where you actually create that personalized roadmap, and we are moving away from generic solutions now, right? We're really listening to the individual. So explain more about the P, the first P.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So that first P is definitely plan, and it's what is the next best step? So, what is one simple doable action that you can take? Um, I think we have a tendency to try and fix everything all at once, and very much so that isn't gonna work. You need to try and just do one doable step because momentum starts small.

SPEAKER_01

They do, they do, and they add up, right? And we often don't give the credit to the small things, but it's often the small things practiced consistently that give the best results. It sounds cliche, but it's so true.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely true.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So, um, one of the things that we like to say is that the woman who wants to make the change is the one in the driver's seat driving the bus, right? So we're just there sitting as a passenger, and ultimately it's her decision whether she goes straight, left, right, whatever she's gonna do, that's her decision. We believe that we all have the answers inside of us.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes we just see, like you said, need someone to ask you the right questions. 100% that are gonna help us on our path.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. I love it. So you are very much focusing on personalizing your plan. So even though there is a framework that is kind of the backbone, how you apply that framework is never the same. For two women.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. It's never gonna look the same because no two people are the same, right? And once you have got talking my language, Lisa tuck in my language. Once you get that buy-in and the woman takes ownership of the plan, there's pride in ownership.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yes. I love that. Yep. Yep, very much so. And again, another so the perfect alignment there for me when I realized, well, of course, the plan for me is the actual personalized nutrition plan that we create for our clients that Beth has been following based on blood work, based on their unique situation. And it's that personalization, that in-depth level of personalization that, as you just said, Lisa, it gives them a sense of ownership. It gives you a sense of ownership, right? Beth, like you're like, I actually feel this is doing something for me, not something that might have worked for Lisa, might have worked for your sister or your mom, you know, or your grandmother when they went through perimenopause. It's focusing on you, your biochemistry, but also where are your unique deficiencies and how are we restoring them? And it's not just a diet, right? Like certainly we're focusing on lifestyle factors as well. It's a lifestyle chain. It is, and that's the only way you can sustain something like that, right? It's essentially a blueprint that we're building for your body, and that's what you're doing here, depending on what the unique challenge is that you have took so much time in the R and the I to really let these women feel heard, and then you develop that personalized blueprint. I love it. Love it, love it, love it. Okay, so moving on to the second P is practice in your framework. So tell us a bit about the practicing.

SPEAKER_02

So the practice is really just testing it out. It's take the step, even if it's messy, you know, um, don't wait for perfect or progress beats perfection. So try just try something. Try something. Take that plan and start doing it. You know, for for me with the metabolic balance program, I I started following the plan and I started weighing and measuring my food, which I had never done before. Um, I cut out snacking, which I had never done before. I I, you know, cut out the food that I wasn't allowed to eat according to my plan. So for me, it was no red meat, no spinach, no beets. I love spinach. I love beets, I love steak and ground beef and hamburgers. But I actually, since following the plan, I actually don't miss those things because there's lots of other things on the plan that I do enjoy eating.

SPEAKER_01

Like you discovered a whole new way. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's the fun part. Yeah, and so I'm practicing the plan and I'm having results and it's working.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I love that. And I think so. The practicing again in your framework with your clients, whatever their challenge is, you're giving them that time to practice the plan in small baby steps that build upon each other, and it's all about consistency over perfection. That is something I probably repeat. If I had a dollar for every time I repeat that, don't focus on doing everything perfect. Yes, you want to give it your best effort. And my job is to give that support, hold them accountable, kind of like a tough love from time to time, so that they realize that I'm only trying to help them to get consistent so it will benefit them. Where do you feel your the support that you offer your clients and the structure? This very clear to follow structure. Where do you think it really helps them to get the results and helps them to become consistent quicker?

SPEAKER_02

So, one of my favorite phrases that I've always said is practice makes improvement. And so when you're focusing in on one habit or one change at a time, it's easier to practice one bite-sized piece and build from there. So we have created a mantra for us in our business that is basically big picture, look at the big picture, and then baby step back. So that's something that Lisa and I have done with our business. So Ripple Effect Momentum Coaching Um has been through several transformations since we started two years ago creating this. I love this story. Yes, share, share. Initially, we started um with the idea that we could help youth who were struggling with their journey into adulthood. And so that's where we started.

SPEAKER_01

Which makes sense considering your background as well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, of course. Um initially, we wanted to offer weeklong retreats for youth who were struggling. Um, and then we realized that um maybe that was too much. Uh, so then we shifted to creating workshops for youth. Um and then we realized that there's lots of social service agencies out there that offer services to youth for free, and we were kind of redundant. So then we completely pivoted away from youth and started working on the idea of well, let's help women. And so we shifted our focus away from youth um and toward women, and then we planned to offer week weekend retreats for women. So that initially we were gonna start with weekend retreats for women, and now we are planning day-long retreats and workshops for women. And so we had to we've had to um make lots of shifts from our and practicing our business plan just in order to be successful. And we have had to be willing to pivot, we've had to be willing to see what's working, see what's not working, and that's all part of practicing our business plan.

SPEAKER_01

So you're practicing what you're preaching, literally, and showing as examples. Yeah, yes, which is as it should be. That's what makes great leaders, ladies, which is why I'm not surprised you're doing so well. I love it. And that beautifully segues into the L of the Ripple Framework, which is learn. So, as you said, it's not just about making sure that they're practicing the same things every day and building on those new habits and breaking old ones that aren't serving them well. But I certainly know from my perspective, if you don't do the educational side of it alongside, it's not just do this, do that, do as I say, not as I do, they have to understand why they're doing it, why it's different than anything they've ever done before, why it's worth their effort and their time, and why when they fall off that horse, which we're all going to do because that's life, why it's so important to get back on and make themselves a priority, right? And make their own self-care a non-negotiable. So that's where your learn comes in. So tell us about the learning and how you help women to develop that self-knowledge, which ultimately then takes them into the E, which we'll come to next.

SPEAKER_00

So that L is really important. Learn is a reflection and adjustment, right? So you have to look at what worked, you have to look at what didn't work. What would you try differently the next time? Learning is it's a very personal journey. We find it's very personal. And learning is about making the connection between the plan and incorporating it because it clicks with them and they get it. When they get it, you own it, and that's why it works. So habits will start to change, your mindset will start to change, and then women will learn what works and what what works and what doesn't work for them.

SPEAKER_01

Love it now. If a woman skips this stage, which I know we're all guilty of wanting to do because we all want to fast track our results, right? That's why we have these rapid band-aid one-size-fits-all solutions out there. What would you say if a woman skips this stage or rushes or tries to rush through it? What typically happens? Like, why is it such a critical part of your framework, the learning aspect?

SPEAKER_00

Right. You can definitely, I don't want to say fail because that's a negative word, but you can definitely have the setbacks at this stage. If you're not adjusting, if you're not taking inventory of what you've been doing, and really hone in and look at it. And like I said, adjust what needs to be adjusted. You you will just you can keep floundering.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. No, absolutely. And I think you're right. Like for me, in my practice, again, here's another perfect alignment here. The learning is huge. We've all tried different one-size-fits-all diets. You know, we might be considering HRT, we might be considering a GLP one. I have clients that either on them or are considering taking them, or they they are on them, but they want to eventually wean off, but they want to do it the right way. And many of these women are coming to me, and this is not their first rodeo. Like they have tried numerous different things, and they have they feel like they are the ones that are failing. And they're starting to beat themselves up, thinking this is their issue and or their lack of willpower. And they're starting to say, What why why am I not one of these women that just thrives through perimenopause and menopause? Looks like they're aging gracefully backwards. Like, how come it's that's not happening to me, right? And we all know those women, we all know those women. Didn't come that easy for me in the beginning. I know for a fact. That's why I probably understand so much what my clients are going through, as I know as I know you do as well. But it that's why the learning aspect is so important. If they don't, and Beth, you can probably vouch for this. We spend a lot of time in our consultations where or even in between, you have 24-7 support with me through WhatsApp in between our consultations. So any question. But you have great questions. And the thing is, is that helps me to help you because if I know where you're struggling or you have a concern or a challenge or a question, then I don't just tell you, okay, well, don't do that, do this. I'll need you to understand why you are likely struggling, why there might have been a blip on the scale, why it's okay to be feeling what you're feeling and why it's normal, and then explain to you not just what we want to do next, but why that is the port of call. And it is understanding that why, who is it? Who is I'm sure a lot of people have heard of Simon Sinek. Is that how you pronounce his name? He's uh a TED talker, and he's it's about the power of why. I'm pretty sure that's his. Uh if you've never listened to it, YouTube it, phenomenal. And he talks about you need to understand your why. You need to, when you understand your why and your why is strong enough, you will commit to things and you won't waver. And that's what the learn, in my opinion, is all about. Love it. Love it. Okay, so here we are, the big reveal. So going through those previous steps, you have helped these women to recognize what is actually going on in their life, why the issues are happening, whether they're emotional, mental, physical, financial, logistical, whatever. And you have helped them be seen. You have helped them now to realize this is not a failure on their part. You've helped them to recognize where there are patterns, and so they can start to connect dots. Then you've done the deeper dive into the investigation work. You are now showing them even more why things are so connected, why what they're experiencing again is not a failure on their part. And you're really making them believe at this point, oh my gosh, I can fix this, I can turn this around. So then you create the plan for them, and it's very personalized. It's their plan, it makes sense, and you have been supporting them and holding them accountable through the practicing of that plan, and then you're teaching them and educating them along the way so that their why is so strong that even on those hard days, they just know it's worth it to get back on that horse. And this is where it just beautifully segues into the E, which is empower. You end up with empowered women at the end of their journey. Well, not that it's ever an end, it's an evolve evolution, right? But explain to me why the E, the empower is probably one of the most important parts they get out of the framework.

SPEAKER_02

So after doing all the work of going through each step of the ripple framework, coming to empower just builds on the momentum that they've already created. So celebrate the small wins. Um, ask how can I ripple this progress into other areas of my life? Yep. So it's it's a continuation. And if I can just speak to my experience on the metabolic metabolic balance program.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, please do.

SPEAKER_02

I I have to say, so when I started uh the end of May, I was about 14 pounds heavier than I am right now. I had tried keto. I lost three pounds in three months doing keto.

SPEAKER_01

You did.

SPEAKER_02

I had tried intermittent fasting, I was hungry all the time, it didn't really work. I got frustrated. I binge ate.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yes, yeah. Remember those days.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. And so when I came to metabolic balance, I was ready to try something that I hadn't heard of before, but I liked the part of it being personalized. I liked that my blood work was affecting my my plan. And so um I am now in the stage where I'm really feeling empowered because I've seen results. When I look in the mirror, I recognize that face looking back at me because her face is thinner. My face is thinner than it was, you know, two months ago. My not only have I had you know wins on the scale, I've also lost a couple of inches. So I'm wearing clothes this summer that didn't really fit well last summer, and this summer I wear them and feel good in them, and my confidence has increased, and I feel empowered. And so that's where you see the results of doing the ripple framework.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it is, it's beautiful and feeling empowered. I love it, I love it. Do you have an example of a of a client that you've worked with recently or somebody at your recent retreat that where you you saw them work through this process and what did they look like? How would you explain the difference in them from the beginning of the journey before when they were still yet to work on the R, on the recognize, and then at the end, or like I said, it's never quite an end. This is something that we should always be focusing on and realizing the importance of it for consistency, right? But how what does a woman look like when she gets to the empower stage? And if you have any example that you'd like to share from a recent client or recent retreat, feel free to share.

SPEAKER_00

I think that as a woman learns and grows and changes, her confidence rises, as Beth said, definitely. Um, she's more clear about what it is that she accept and tolerate from other people and from situations and herself. Um I love it. In that way, she develop develops her true self-respect and self-love. And that's what it's really about. It's about healing one person at a time, right? But you've got to start with yourself in order for it to go out outward. And um we do have an example of one woman.

SPEAKER_02

Um at the beginning of our retreat, we had one participant who I don't think she really had really high expectations of what she was gonna get out of the day. And you know, she struggled with some parts of the you know, creating her power word, and um her confidence seemed to be kind of lacking, but by the end of the workshop, she she stood a little taller, and you can see the increase in her confidence. See that, yeah, love it. Actually, see the increase in her confidence, and she gave us amazing feedback at the end of the day, and even a few days later, she contacted Lisa and gave us more feedback. And that was one. Wow, that's quite the impact you made on her then. So even the the day she carried with her into you know her her life, even a few days later, where she was reflecting on it and able to speak to us about how that day really affected her in such a positive way, which was beautiful. That's one day, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's one day that you guys were able to make that magic happen in one day. But obviously, you taught it in a way that it's just the beginning of that ripple. There's that word again. She made the magic happen, right? Yeah, she made it happen for herself.

SPEAKER_02

She did it for herself. We just gave her the tool, we gave her the tool and we supported her to do it, but she did it, she did the work.

SPEAKER_01

That's the empowerment. You just nailed it right there. Like she will continue clearly to do and keep doing what you have given her the tools to to work with. That's fantastic. I absolutely love that. I know for me, empower I even though I work through a more of a structured timeline as far as I that the metabolic balance program, I teach over a 12-week period as far as the phases of the program that they need to be very clear on how they work. But for everybody, because it's so personalized, as we've talked about, no two journeys are ever the same. And often I work with people for months and months. And it that's not meant to sound daunting. It's a learning, it's a work in progress, it's a learning that never ends. And we have to make sure that each person is going through it at their own pace and not feeling rushed because that never works, right? Again, that's they're gonna lose that empowerment if they feel it's just something they can't sustain. Um, so for me, a big part of it, which is what you're doing through the whole practice and the learning stage, which leads to the empowerment, is making sure that when they I kind of like they say with a with a child, you let them go off on their own eventually and you watch them go and with tears in your eyes, but you are proud of the work that you have done because you see how they, as you said, hold themselves differently. They stand a little taller, they are no longer overwhelmed, they're no longer scared or feeling that life is happening to them. So, you know, their body is now out of their control. And you see that confidence. For me, I see the confidence in these clients that they know how to nourish themselves well. They can go on a vacation or a cruise. And I just recently um heard back from a client who this exact thing happened. And initially, people are nervous because they don't want to go out of their comfort zone and they're comfortable when they're in their kitchen at home. But then what happens? But that's not life, right? So we have to give these ladies the tools in whatever challenge they've been struggling with so that they can actually live a life and find a balance because otherwise there is no life to live, right? And when you see them own it, you've said that a few times, Lisa and I love that, I got goosebumps. For me, I see them owning their health, owning their food choices. And that doesn't mean that they're perfect. My goodness. It just means that they now are so clear on what works for their body and what doesn't, that when they get the chance to get back to eating the way they now know their body thrives, they do it because they want to, because the why, why they're doing what they're doing makes so much sense. And then when life throws them a curveball, whether it's a stressful season, a holiday, another hormonal shift, because let's face it, they go all over the place for potentially 10 years for a lot of us, not to be a dabby downer. But they know how to come back to themselves, right? They know that okay, this doesn't mean I throw the baby out with the bathwater. This doesn't mean that I've lost control. It just means that I'm being challenged right now, but I got the tools. You've given your ladies the tools, and that independence, that's the goal, right? From day one, that is the goal that we are trying to get these ladies to. Oh my gosh, I love it. I love it, and I love the examples that you've shared. So now that we've walked through all six stages together, I just want to kind of tie it up with like if you think about the full picture, what does the full picture look like? For a woman who truly commits to this journey with you, like what do you see? What changes for her? Not just, you know, in her body. And you've touched on this a little bit. I just want to bring it home in one nice neat package here of what so people can see what's possible. So not just in their body or their habits, but in her whole life, like that ripple effect. How does their life change when they commit to the journey?

SPEAKER_02

Sure. So as a woman learns and grows and changes, her confidence rises. We've mentioned that. She's more clear on what is and what is not acceptable for her to tolerate from other people and situations and even herself. And so in this way, she develops true self-respect and self-love. She sets clear boundaries with those around her and she holds herself and others accountable. And she takes care of herself. She she cares for herself physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Oh my gosh, I love it. Every person is worthy and deserves to live a content and peaceful life free of pain from past hurts. The reason why we are so invested in the work we do is because we know that hurt people hurt people. And if we can help one person heal their hurt, whatever that is for them, it ripples throughout their life in their family, their community. And so our motto is let's help people heal one person, one ripple at a time.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, there's the goosebumps again. I'm telling you, you nailed the ripple part. You really did. Now, if you could if say they call this the elevator speech sometimes, right? They say if you were in an elevator and had 30 seconds to talk to somebody about what it is that you do, you would want to portray the one thing that is probably going to hit home the most for a woman that you can see they need help. So what would if you could ask the audience to take one thing away today, what's the one thing you want every woman listening today to take away from what you do and ultimately to help them realize just how much power and control they truly do have over whatever situation is challenging them right now?

SPEAKER_02

So I think what is important for us to get across is what we do. So we offer a safe space to step away from the noise of everyday life and enter a nurturing, safe environment where you can reconnect with yourself on a deeper level. And we encourage you to dive into a journey inward, one that nurtures your spiritual and emotional well-being. Because again, hurt people, hurt people. And that's where we come in. We want to help people heal one person, one ripple at a time, so that people are no longer hurt and hurting others. And we want to we want to eventually have that ripple effect go out into the world so that more people are healing and not hurting anymore. Not hurting themselves anymore and not hurting others anymore. And just think of what a beautiful world this would be if we had so many people that stop hurting themselves and others and are healing what a beautiful world it would be.

SPEAKER_01

I wish, I know this is only an audio podcast. Maybe one day we'll do video, although then we would have had to put makeup on, ladies. But I do wish I I do wish that the ladies could see your face right now, as you are taught, both of you, but as you just said what you said there, Beth, that the the genuine, the authenticity, like the genuineness, the authenticity, the the the care that you clearly have, the passion that you both have for this business that you have been building so beautifully, and how you want to show this ripple in the world, it's just glowing out of you. Like it's honestly, it's a pleasure to watch. And I I got the uh privilege of seeing it, which I know not everybody does, but I had to share that because it's something they can't quite see, but I hope they can feel it, and I'm sure they can through your words. It but the passion is so, so there. So I think we need all of you, thank you, thank you, ladies. Now, what I want to make sure is that people know how to reach you and connect with you, because I have no doubt there are going to be people here that are gonna want to learn more from you about what you do and how you may be able to help them or someone they know with a situation that is challenging them right now. And we all need that sense of community and support, right? Especially at this time in our lives. It's so, so challenging. So, Lisa, Beth, where can the women listening find you? How do they connect with you? And is there anything you want to share about some upcoming retreats or workshops that you have lined up? And I know that they're always a work in progress, so there could be very many more in the pipeline.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely. Well, we do have one coming up on the 25th. Uh, we have a workshop, our healing and gold workshop, which we've created.

SPEAKER_01

Um and that's the 25th of July, just to be clear, right? Here 2026. Yep, got it.

SPEAKER_00

And where is it going to be, you said, Lisa? It'll be in Wheatley, Ontario, at the Village Research Center, and it's based on the Kinsuki um Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. So we've connected a ribble framework throughout the workshop and just can sleep with the cloud. Um, it's their creative expression. So you're you're not broken, you're becoming.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, oh, very deep. I like that. I love that. And this is something. Did you do this at your last retreat or your last workshop? Or is this new? This is this is new.

SPEAKER_02

This is this is a new workshop that we've just created. So um yeah, so we've basically weaved in our rip full work to the whole idea of healing. Um, and the Japanese art of Kinsuki is mending broken pottery with gold. And so we're gonna have clay flower pots and we're gonna ask participants to break them gently into big pieces. Um then glue them back with gold paint and a poxy, and then um at the end, we'll have a surprise to give them to take away for their flower pots.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And it's there's meditation while you're doing it, and we we talk them through, like Beth said, the ripple framework. So, but in order to um um keep up with what we're doing, you can follow us on our socials, okay? And we have a website, ripple effect momentum coaching dot org. And ripple effect is with an A.

SPEAKER_01

I was just gonna say that because it almost caught me off guard. So that's Ripple as we have walked through R-I-P-P-L-E affect A F F E C T Momentumcoaching.org.org.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. Perfect. And on socials, what's your handle on socials? Ripple Effect Momentum on our Instagram and ripple effect momentum coaching on Facebook. Love it, love it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, awesome. Well, I have to say, even I am hoping to be at this workshop on Saturday. Uh we would be talking about it before. I love this. Well, I love anything like this. So um, we will definitely have more to share. And I know that there, I'm sure there's gonna be lots of people that are going to want to learn a little more about what you have coming up. Do you have anything else you want to add, Beth?

SPEAKER_02

Um, yes. So anybody who's interested in registering for our workshop, Healing and Gold, on July 25th at the Village Resource Center in Wheatley, you can go to our website, rippleaffect momentum coaching.org. And on the last page, you'll see uh Stripe. And so you can make your payment on Stripe through our website. Or if you want to just pay cash on the day of, it's $60. Um, just let us know in advance by email, rippleaffect at mail.com that you're planning to attend.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And that way we will have enough supplies for everybody for the event.

SPEAKER_01

And I think that's a phenomenal price. I mean, like this is an afternoon workshop. You get all of the materials and everything. And I mean, never mind the education that's going to come along with it, the community aspect, the support, like all of that is priceless in itself. But I think it's phenomenal. So I'm I'm really hoping I'm that I'm gonna be able to make it too. I'm I'm I'm making things happen so that I can because uh it sounds fantastic and very unique, but it makes so so much sense and it it fits in beautifully with your framework. Well, ladies, this oh, thank you. Honestly, this is the episode that I knew it was going to be. I think just you just explain it so beautifully. I am I would love to hear feedback from the audience if you have been listening to this episode and there are things that have really resonated with you. If you have seen yourself in some of these challenges that Lisa and Beth have been talking about, then we would love to hear from you because we shouldn't be struggling alone, right? And that's the thing. Sometimes we just need a conversation, we just need to feel heard, we just need to know that we are not a victim to the challenge that we are faced with, regardless of our age, regardless of our stage of life. We have so much more control. I realize as I'm talking, I'm actually talking my preamble to the podcast that comes. Oh, the bit, the bit at the end, the bit that comes afterwards. Who says this it's embedded in my brain? But for that exact reason, it's it's me speaking from the heart as well. And this is why we do what we do. And it's clearly why you do what you do and do it so, so well. I can't wait to keep following you guys on your journey. I'm so glad we are close to each other. I I'm lucky that way. And um, yeah, just keep us posted on upcoming events. I'm happy to share them on my socials and website as well. And uh we'll uh yes, definitely be catching up again soon. We'll have to have another catch-up episode several months down the lane line and see how things are going and what else you've got in store. Because I I know the sky's the limit for you. Yeah, we would love that, Joanne. Thank you for that. Awesome. All right. Well, for then I'll say bye for now, ladies, and uh, thanks again to everybody for listening, and we'll catch you on a future episode. Bye for now.
