Allison Luthe is a 50-year-old Gen-X daughter who suddenly finds herself parenting both of her parents — at the same time.

Her dad is receiving hospice care at home, her mom recently lost her driving privileges (and a bit of her filter), and somehow, she’s now the “bossy” one.

A lifelong storyteller with a professional background in nonprofit leadership and community development, she uses humor, honesty, and a little dark sarcasm to unpack the chaos of midlife caregiving — from hospice visits and unpaid bills to ice cream orders gone wrong.

What she thought would be a business startup while traveling around the world has turned into working remotely from her high school bedroom in a small Midwestern town.
