BJ Garrett is an award-winning author and speaker with a powerful testimony of redemption and resilience. A survivor of familial sex trafficking, BJ has dedicated her life to encouraging women to find freedom, healing, and identity through Jesus Christ. She is the co-founder and co-leader of Unashamed Women’s Ministry, where she helps create Christ-centered spaces for discipleship, honest conversation, and spiritual growth.

With years of experience speaking at women’s events, conferences, retreats, and leadership gatherings across the country, BJ is known for her authenticity, bold faith, and relatable teaching style. Her passion is helping women break free from shame, embrace their God-given worth, and live unashamed of their stories.

BJ calls East Texas home, is married to her husband Jay, and is a proud mother and Nana. She believes God wastes nothing and that every story—no matter how broken—can be redeemed for His glory.

Denise Bowens is a lifelong East Texas resident and a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview since 1997. She has served as the ministry leader for Recovery Alive since 2010 and is actively involved in local homeless shelters and rehab facilities. Her passion for missions has taken her to Africa, Mexico, and Haiti.

Denise is a passionate speaker, teacher, and ministry leader who shares God’s truth at women’s events across the United States, encouraging women to walk in freedom, healing, and purpose.

She serves as Co-Director of Unashamed Women’s Ministry and is deeply committed to Christ-centered recovery, helping women live unashamed of their stories and restored through Jesus.
