In this episode of Real Ones: The League, presented by Experian, you will see:
Baltimore Ravens All-Pro Safety Kyle Hamilton and Los Angeles Rams All-Pro Wide Receiver Puka Nacua join San Francisco 49ers All-Pro Linebacker Fred Warner for a raw, unfiltered conversation from the EA Sports Madden NFL booth at Super Bowl Media Center. From the disappointment of the Ravens' season to the high-powered energy of the Rams' #1 scoring offense, these superstars open up about the mindset required to dominate at the highest level.
Kyle Hamilton breaks down his role as a "Swiss Army knife" on the Ravens' defense and what it's like playing alongside future Hall of Famer Derrick Henry. Meanwhile, Puka Nacua reacts to teammate Matthew Stafford winning the MVP and how the addition of Davante Adams transformed the Rams into a scoring machine.
In this episode, we dig into the upcoming Super Bowl LX matchup between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. Kyle and Puka analyze the "explosive" offense of the Patriots led by Drake Maye and the elite Seattle defense coached by Mike Macdonald. Kyle shares his Top 3 NFL Safeties—giving flowers to Nick Edwards, Derwin James, and Jalen Pitre—and tells a legendary story about being asked to sign a six-month-old baby’s forehead with a Sharpie in college.
Plus, we get a funny moment when Kyle FaceTimes his "BFF" Tony Jefferson on the golf course and Puka attempts a "BFF" call to Davante Adams. Puka also sends a heartfelt message to Cooper Kupp ahead of the big game.
Finally, Fred Warner opens up about his own path from a third-round pick to an All-Pro and his grueling recovery from a major ankle injury. He reflects on balancing new fatherhood with the grind of the NFL and looks ahead to the 2026 season, including the historic matchup against the Rams in Australia.

Cold Open: Wild Fan Stories
SPEAKER_04Uh is there a fan experience that comes to mind where it's like, ah, that was a little bit strange. All right, you probably come across a lot of fans being Kyle Hamilton. Is there one that kind of is like I don't know about that one?
SPEAKER_02Um actually in college, I signed a baby. Like I signed a baby's forehead with like permanent.
SPEAKER_04I didn't sign the baby as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like I was gonna sign his like arm and the forehead, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So we can tattoo it.
SPEAKER_02Right. It was like a six-month-old baby. I signed his forehead with a sharpie, and I was like, That's hilarious. Parents' fault.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I don't know, but I'm like, yo, we we're an hour away from each other. Why are you?
SPEAKER_04We're trying to make worldwide moves, brother. That's why. They want us on that on that jet going 20 hours to down under. Right.
SPEAKER_01I love I love kangaroos too, dude. I'm like, but man, I want to see them when I play somebody on the cross of the game. And guess what?
SPEAKER_04It's your home game, too. So now you don't get a home game. All right, we we still get our home game. Love it.
Show Kickoff From Super Bowl Row
SPEAKER_04What's up, everybody? Welcome back to Real Ones, the league presented by Experian. I'm your host, Fred Warner, and we are here coming to you live from the EA Sports Madden NFL booth at Super Bowl Media Center here in my city, San Francisco. Uh, we got a massive show for you today. I'm joined by not one, but two very special guests. Uh these dudes are absolute ballers and some of the best at their positions. Uh, but before we start, if you're a fan of the show, show us some love, like, comment, and subscribe on YouTube or wherever else you listen to your pods. Let's get into it.
Introducing Kyle Hamilton
SPEAKER_04We've got a very special guest today, a two-time first team all pro who has been a game changer since the moment he entered the league. In my opinion, this dude is easily a not even just a top five, top three, maybe even the best in the game. I don't know. Man, we we might have to talk about it and see. He's a Swiss Army knife on defense for the Ravens and makes plays from safety, slot corner, and outside linebacker positions. I'm hyped to welcome a true real one in the blueprint for the modern defender, Kyle Hamilton. Welcome to the show, brother.
SPEAKER_02Thanks for having me.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely, man. Thank you for coming.
Ravens Season Autopsy
SPEAKER_04So, you know, I I I watch the Ravens. You know, of course, my guy Kyle Van Noy's on the team. You got Lamar Jackson, you guys got a fantastic defense role. Me and him have been, you know, battling it out for the top spot in the league. How would you sum up your guys' uh season this year?
SPEAKER_02Uh I mean, disappointing for sure. You know, the expectations, I'm sure you guys are the same way, you know, playing for the Niners, a team that's competing every year, um, not even getting in the dance is definitely disappointing. So, but we understand what we have and what we need to do, and hopefully next season we have a different mentality.
SPEAKER_04So, what do you think that the reason for that was? Because I'm watching you guys and you ended up going into the season, you guys are probably like the favorite to win it all. And of course, I know Lamar's been, you know, has has that that thing attached to him of oh, he can't win the big one, he can't get it to that next step of going to a Super Bowl. But like, what do you think it was going in this year?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, uh you know how this league is. I mean, you've been in it for a while. Like, you can't just go out there and win games. Like, dudes in the dudes in this league are good. Doesn't matter the record, doesn't matter the situation, you know. Um I think offense, defense, special teams, we never played well together on the same day. Like defense had a good day, offense didn't. Offense had a good day, defense didn't. Or we had some mishap here and there, and you know, it's hard to win games like that. But, you know, I think we got a new regime, new staff coming in, which we're excited about. Um appreciate Hobbs for everything he did for us. I'm sure he's gonna do good in New York. But um I think we're excited for what we got coming up.
SPEAKER_04Good, man. I mean, hey, it's a new, like you mentioned, a new uh a new regime. Uh we'll we'll see how you guys do going forward. We're playing with old King Henry, Derek
Derrick Henry And The Run Game
SPEAKER_04Henry, man. That's the guy who was a is a future Hall of Famer, in my opinion. The guy who's probably bigger than I am. I remember seeing him in Oregon at one of the Nike events, and he's about six'fold, two fifty, it seemed like. Yeah, nah, moving too. How is it playing uh, you know, with him on the same team and watching him on Sundays?
SPEAKER_02It's a blessing because I mean, hopefully he has his career with us, and I was like, I'll never have to tackle him again. That's a plus for sure. But I mean, he's a it's it's crazy to see him kind of wear teams down throughout the game. You know, he gets in the second half and you just keep feeding him the ball and starts getting getting going. You know, as a defender, we're on the sideline, like, hey, keep going, keep going, keep going, finish the game with the ball. But uh, no, I mean having a rushing attack with him, Lamar, we got a bunch of other guys in the backfield and um guys up front who can move people, and it it opens up your whole offense if you can run the ball. So it's been great having him.
SPEAKER_04You saying he's happy on my he's on my team. That's exactly how I feel about having CMC on my side. Well, I'm like, thank God he's on my team. So I ain't gotta try to run around trying to trying to chase after that cat.
Patriots vs Seahawks Super Bowl Preview
SPEAKER_04Fact. We're here at the Super Bowl, uh, Super Bowl 60 in San Fran, and uh we have the Patriots, we have Seattle. Uh are you familiar with the Patriots being in the AFC? You guys have played each other a little bit? Yeah, we played each other this year. A couple times. And what okay, you played each other this year. What was that matchup like, and what did you see out of uh out of old Drake May, the runner-up to the MVP?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, uh there's a reason why he what was it, like one vote away? Yeah, one vote, one first place vote away. Yep. Yeah, I mean Stafford had a great year too, so congrats to him. But I think as a whole unit, you know, just from a distance, you see Vrabel and like what he's about, and um kind of gets those guys playing in the right way. Everybody has a chip on their shoulder kind of thing. And um their offense, I don't know how familiar you are with them, but it's like explosive dependent almost. And um, they have guys, they have digs, yeah, they got um Trayvon Henderson out the backfield or Andre Stevenson, both home run hitters, and you know, they they set you up and they McDaniels was dying it dialing it up too, so you kind of got to play top down against them, but you know, they try to hit those explosive plays, those crossing routes, all that stuff, and um we actually lost that game just giving up too many explosives. Too many explosive plays.
SPEAKER_04It seems like they run more of like a traditional pro-style offense, like Josh McDaniel's been doing it for a long time. They still use a fullback, they they'll line up in I formation, they'll bring an extra top tackle in the game, and then they're telling you what they're doing. They're like, hey, we're trying to run the football here, and then they'll they'll spread you out to try to get some of those explosive passes, and Drake May seems like he throws the ball with the best of them. Uh it's gonna be a tough matchup, though. I think Seattle, I'm more familiar with Seattle. Their defense uh is obviously one of the best in the game. They're front, they're the back seven, everybody playing together. Do you have a prediction on what you how you see the game going on Sunday?
SPEAKER_02I think it's whoever's defense plays better. That's kind of cliche to say, but you know, it always feels like in these Super Bowl games, like they say defense wins championships match. So do. So true. Um, you know, you don't get to this part of the season without having an elite defense. Right. And um, you know, Seattle gets a lot of rep for you know Mike Mack calling the plays, and everybody's crazy about their defense, which is deservedly so. Those dudes are hooping over there. But I think the Patriots got a great defense too. Um, not a ton of guys with like huge names, but they just play really well together. Obviously, they got a couple stars too, but uh that's just credit to outside looking in, credit to Vrabel, because it feels like he gets those guys on the same page, and you know, everybody's bought in. And yeah, um, like that last game against Denver, like it was like not a lot going on on the offense, and defense had to go win that game, and they did. So um I don't know. I feel like Seattle's probably the favorite to win, but you know, I you never know.
SPEAKER_04You gotta go strap it up, line it up with whoever plays the best the best ball in those 60 minutes.
Halftime Dreams And Gen Z Moment
SPEAKER_04Oh, Mike Vrabel is the uh coach of the year this year. Congratulations to him. Vrabel, not verbal. Uh, if you could choose a Super Bowl halftime performer, is there a is there somebody out there where you're like, man, I would love to see such and such doing the Super Bowl. We got Bad Bunny this year.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure that's gonna be lit. Nah, that'd be dope. That'd be dope. Um, you know, I'm a Drake guy. I don't know if it'll happen, just with all the things going on right now. You could dream, you know. Yeah, but um I feel like that'd be legendary. I feel like seeing Mike Jackson do the halftime. I think he did it. Yeah, yeah. Uh I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I mean, if he did, it was way back before us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, probably. But I mean, I'm I wasn't alive for it, but it was happening. But I think what year were you born? Oh, one.
SPEAKER_04Wow, we got a 2000 baby folks. How about that? Uh speaking of 2000s and uh being on social media, I've seen you on Twitter doing these old top fives with Kyle Hamilton.
Top Threes: Snacks, Sports, Plane Gripes
SPEAKER_04Tell us a little bit about how this came about and what what is this? We we can run through some top threes if we got some time, but how did this even come about?
SPEAKER_02Nah, I um I was stuck on the runway in Atlanta for like three hours one time. And uh I was in a group chat talking about some top fives. I was like, hey, let's just have a good discourse on Twitter. Right. But um, I feel like that's what it's there for. Uh it's always funny to hear people's perspectives and funny to see how passionate people are about my top five and how they disagree with it. Yeah, it's kind of the world we live in. Um everybody gets rage baited and it's really funny. Uh it's like my favorite thing to do is just kind of rage bait people because uh it's funny to get under people's skin sometimes.
SPEAKER_04That's hilarious. I mean, I probably need to start my own top five on Twitter. I think it's just fun to kind of get that interaction with the fans too, because then they're like, hey, this is a human being. It's not just uh Superman Kyle Hamilton on game days. Uh okay, let's do some top threes then. What are your top three snacks right now? If you are you a snack guy or sure. Oh, for sure. Okay. So do you have a top three for snacks?
SPEAKER_02Um if I'm I'm thinking like on a road trip, I'm getting uh dill pickle sunflower seeds. Okay. Um I'm getting Takis and probably some like cool ranch Doritos. Ooh. Yeah. Man, I like that lineup.
SPEAKER_04I'm a I'm a I'm a dill pickle uh oh pause. I'm a you know I'm a dill pickle uh sunflower seed myself. Sunflower seeds. Uh sunflower seeds, yes. Let's see uh top three sports you'd love to go pro for if you know if you weren't playing football.
SPEAKER_02Definitely hoops. You know, I'd love to be like a hooper. Of course, and we all. And we all, yes. Uh golf. I'm and I'm saying I'm like a top ten guy at these sports.
SPEAKER_04Okay, I I I remember seeing you when we golfed last year. You got you got some you got some skills on the golf course.
SPEAKER_02And um, you know, maybe like tennis or something. I've been tennis lately. Tennis is done. Yeah. That'd be pretty cool. Traveling the world, doing all that stuff.
SPEAKER_04Most definitely, I would, I would agree. Uh this one's fun. Top three worst things to experience on a plane. Since this is kind of like in the theme of how you created top fives being at an airport. So what are top worst things? Top three worst things to experience. People who fart on the plane. Okay, of course. That's an easy one.
SPEAKER_02It's like, come on, like, because you don't know who it is. You can, I guess, just freely do it. But uh I think the the the kind of caring like uh that that whole thing.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you need to do it, yeah, yeah. Come on.
SPEAKER_02Um and it the when the plane lands, everybody's standing up immediately. Okay, getting in the aisle.
SPEAKER_04So you're one of those, you're like, hey, what can we just all sit down and file out nice and neat?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like this is everybody rushing out. Yeah, it's like we're we're all getting off. Like, we're we'll all get off this plane. I get I understand connections and all that stuff, but like as soon as the little bell dings and you jump up out of your seat, I'm like, come on, bro. Like people got places to be. They want to get going. I guess.
SPEAKER_04Alright, so this next segment we call experience call
BFF FaceTime Challenge
SPEAKER_04your BFF uh segment. So what I'm gonna ask you to do, what we ask our guests to do is we whip they whip their phone out, and whoever you feel like is your BFF, all right, in in the entire league. It could be on your team, it could be on a different team. I want you to call that person up on FaceTime and just let them know, hey man, you're my BFF, and let's see if they truly are your BFF and answer the call. So uh you want to let us know who who you'll be calling for this in a second?
SPEAKER_02Um I'm gonna call I was gonna call Marlon Humphrey, but he's in flight school right now. Oh wow, flight school is crazy. I don't know if he's gonna answer as a current player. But I'll call Cam Hart. He was my roommate at Notre Dame, plays with the Chargers now. All right. I think he's out here, so if he doesn't answer, then that that says something about Cam because he's always saying I don't call him enough.
SPEAKER_04Alright, let's see.
SPEAKER_02Is it ringing? It's ringing. Alright, let's see. Cam Hart. I don't know, folks. Uh oh. I don't know. Cam might have had a long night last night, so it might be a little early for Cam.
SPEAKER_01Dang it.
SPEAKER_02No, Cam.
SPEAKER_04This is a bad look. And listen, it's okay, look, we showed a camera. Cam didn't Cam didn't answer. Okay, so Cam isn't the isn't the BFF just for today. Is there maybe one other person that you could call right now and you think that they would answer for you as your BFF? Let's call Tony Jefferson. TJ.
SPEAKER_02Tony Jefferson. T Jefferson answered.
SPEAKER_04San Diego product. He got to. He gotta answer.
SPEAKER_02A San Diego cat gotta answer. He's probably somewhere trying to do a stream right now.
unknownWhat's good, bro?
SPEAKER_04What's good, my boy? Yes, sir. What's good, brother?
Safeties He Loves To Watch
unknownYou know what, man, I'm not playing no games.
SPEAKER_02Oh, he he's on the golf course right now. Of course he is, man. But I just played there. I played there uh last week.
SPEAKER_04Tell him that he's your BFF.
SPEAKER_02Oh. Yeah, Harding Park. Hey, um, you know, we're doing the segment on Fred's podcast. You had to call your BFF, so I just want to let you know that's how I feel about you. You had to call your BFF on Fred's podcast, so I just want to let you know that's how I feel about you.
unknownUh bestie.
SPEAKER_02Bestie. Alright, bro. Appreciate it. Hit him straight.
SPEAKER_04Alright, brother. Uh okay. Cam's in timeout. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Cam, you've been demoted. It's not my friend anymore. It's all right. Maybe Gurney Charts back at some point. I don't know. Uh, looking around the league, man, is there uh let's hand out some game balls. Who are your top three favorite safeties to watch this season and why?
SPEAKER_02This season, I mean, top of mind. Um Nicki Minori is the rookie from Seattle. I think what he's done this year, just being a rookie, I remember what it was like being a rookie. Um, you know, he kind of is a center of that defense and making plays in the playoffs, all that stuff is pretty dope. Obviously, Derwin doing his thing. Um, what is it, year seven, eight for Derwin? We came together yet. He's still, you know, playing at a high level. I think uh, you know, these are all like safety nickel hybrids.
SPEAKER_04And that's kind of what our game is
International Games And QB For A Play
SPEAKER_04turning into, right? You can't, there's no such thing as just a traditional, like, you're gonna play free safety. It's like, no, you gotta be able to play nickel corner, you gotta be able to be in the box and play a little linebacker. You know what I'm saying? Like, you gotta be able to do it all. So these are definitely cats that are doing it all.
SPEAKER_02Third, probably Jalen Petrie. Petrie had a great wall. Oh boy, that's a good pick. And he's uh quote unquote undersized, but like he's out there like dog, bro.
SPEAKER_04I don't think he gets enough flowers for sure.
SPEAKER_02So I'm glad that you gave it to him. Yeah, but those three probably.
SPEAKER_04Uh and of course, you you know, you in that conversation as well, and sure you watch your own your own highlights from time to time, huh? From time to time.
SPEAKER_02I I mean I I usually just leave that to the family to send me through the videos, stuff like that. But you you watch the the clips that you like a couple of times.
SPEAKER_04Uh if you could play an NFL game anywhere in the world, where would it be? You know, we got a lot of uh international games going on. We just got announced going to Australia. Yeah. Australia. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But what do you think about that? It's gonna be a long flight. For sure. That's all I hear. It's a big time change. We'll see how that goes. All right. All I care about is the win, though. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I don't care where we play. I just think. That's gonna be a long flight coming back with the loss, too. If so.
SPEAKER_04Um The Rams will have to worry about that, don't you?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, not y'all. Yeah. Um probably I'm half Korean, so Korea would be a cool spot. Um I went out there last year and went to a baseball game. How far, how far away is that? I flew out of Atlanta. It was 16 and a half. Yeah, it was
Role Reversal: Kyle Interviews Fred
SPEAKER_02it was a crikey. Yeah, I watched all, I watched four Harry Potter movies. I was just on the flight feeling. Um But yeah, they like the Korean baseball organization, KBO, is the game I went to. And you would think it was like a college football game. Oh, is that right? Yeah, so I think the environment would be dope.
SPEAKER_04Korea, that's pretty dope. Uh, let's see, if your coach gave you one play at quarterback in a real NFL game, what play are you running?
SPEAKER_02You know, I high school I went to was triple option. Oh, is that right? Yeah, so I can play a little quarterback in high school. Okay. So I can still run, you know, we ran that dang triple option so much, it's engraved in my brain. So hey, coach, run that right now. Get that triple option. Yeah, get Derek at fullback, get Lamar at one of the running backs, get Zay Flowers at the other running back, and I'll I'll read the I'll read the end.
SPEAKER_04Raven, who's your uh your head coach now? What's his name? Jesse Minner. Jesse Miner. Yeah, we got a package. Installed a new package right here. You heard of here first. Uh, is there a fan experience that comes to mind where it's like, ah, that was a little bit strange? All right, you probably come across a lot of fans being Kyle Hamilton. Is there one that kind of is like I don't know about that one?
SPEAKER_02Um in high actually in college, I signed a baby. Like I signed a baby's forehead with like permanent.
SPEAKER_04I didn't sign the baby as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but like I was gonna sign his like arm and the forehead, yes.
SPEAKER_03So we could tattoo it.
SPEAKER_02Right. It was like a six-month-old baby. I signed his forehead with a Sharpie, and I was like, That's hilarious. Parents' fault.
SPEAKER_04All right, let's flip the script a little bit. I'm gonna let you be the podcast host. All right, you get to ask me one personal question and then one football question that may come to mind.
SPEAKER_02Personal question. What round were you drafted? Third round. What round did you think you were gonna get drafted? About third round. Third round, I got it. Yeah, it wasn't one of them stories where I was like, I'm sitting there waiting, oh, they didn't take me. Uh what was your what was your first thought when you saw the San Francisco number? San Fran Draft, you're right. That's right. San Fran number pop up.
SPEAKER_04Fire. I was I was ecstatic because I'm from San Diego. Okay. So the fact that I got to stay on the West Coast, and all you the only thing you know about San Fran is their history of winning Super Bowls, yeah, playing great linebacker play. You got Naval Bowman, you got Patrick Willis. Um, and so I I was like, man, I got I got some work to do to try to get in there. Yeah, that's
Puka Nakua Joins Live
SPEAKER_04dope. Yeah, that's dope.
SPEAKER_02Um, what was the other one? One football question? Yeah. All right. Um balls on the plus 40. Oh wow, this is a real play. It's a windy day, so uh well, it field goal doesn't matter situation. You're up for on defense, fourth and eight.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What's your ideal play call? They got let's say 11 personnel out there.
SPEAKER_04They got 11 personnel out there, fourth and eight. They need a touchdown. Are you a zero guy in that situation? That's what I'm saying. That's what that's where my mind went, and I've been in that situation with zero, it's just so 50-50, though. Yeah, it literally is 50-50. It literally 50-50, where it's like, if the if you can get home and make them rush the throw, great. But if not, it could be a horrible decision. Yeah. So that's the thing, is I don't I don't know what else we're gonna do in that scenario. So, yeah, I mean, why not? Send the house. Yeah. Send the house, send me. Send me, you know, if we had Kyle Hamilton on our team, that'd
Stafford’s MVP And Rams Offense
SPEAKER_04be great, and we send both of us and we both get home and win the game. But hey, brother, thank you so much for coming on the show. Thank you for having me. You the man, bro, keep doing it. SPEAKER_00Hold on, hold on, hold on. You can't be a fan of me and we're going to play in Australia, though. Like we we finna have a time.
SPEAKER_04We're going to down under. We going that what's like what's like one of them uh them songs? Is that is that Australia or no?
SPEAKER_00Oh, I don't know, but I'm like, yo, we we're an hour away from each other. Why are we gonna be able to do that? Why are we going down under we can stay?
SPEAKER_04Because we kind of make worldwide moves, brothers. That's why. They want us on that on that jet going 20 hours to down under. I love I love kangaroo too, dude.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, but man, I want to see them when I play somebody on the bottom. Guess what?
SPEAKER_04It's your home game, too. So now you don't get a home game. All right, we we still get our home game.
SPEAKER_00Love it. I'm like, honestly, at SoFi, there's not too many home games.
SPEAKER_04I was just about to say, now that's honestly a blow to us,
Australia Opener And Division Smoke
SPEAKER_04to be real. Your quarterback won MVP last night. What what was your reaction when you saw that? What did you anticipate that happened? Of course, he's your quarterback, so I'm sure you did anticipate that, but you know, how was it playing all season with him?
SPEAKER_00Give him a little flowers. 100%. I'm like the the toughness, the grit, I'm like, you've seen them like the understanding of the game and the defense, the ability to manipulate people. He makes the game so easy for me. And I'm like, I I I'm blessed to be able to be around him. I'm like, our our relationship has continued to grow from me not being able to speak in the meetings to meet, him having one-on-one conversations, being able to try to figure out how we're gonna dial it up. So I I'm I'm forever grateful for him. And uh watching him as a father and having the communication as a new father has honestly been one of the best things that's happened to me in my life. Um, having four daughters and the understanding of how to communicate. All up there on stage last night with him accepting the award, and a beautiful picture. Beautiful picture. That was that was one of the coolest moments. Um, like as a football player, you you dream of having success and being able to hold hoist that trophy. But when you see moments like that and you're like, you understand that, man, it's much bigger than football, and to have that opportunity with his family, it was beautiful.
SPEAKER_04So you guys had the number one highest scoring offense this season. What led you guys ultimately to being able to have such a high powered offense? Of course, you got you added Devontae uh Adams to the ranks, you got a nice run game. You Sean McVay started using a lot a lot more 13 personnel getting their tight ends out on the field. So, what what uh brought you guys to having a number one scoring offense?
SPEAKER_00Well, obviously, our quarterback, I don't have the MVP, but I'm like, I think of the the addition that Devontae Adams was, and the the understanding of man, now everybody's got they got to play both sides, man. We're gonna spread the field out, we're gonna make them, and then we have a great running back. I'm like, and our offensive line, when we have when Kevin Dodson's out there, I'm like, we have an opportunity to say, hey, everybody, when you see me motion right here, we're gonna run the ball right here, and you can't stop it. So I'm like, there's no better feeling like that. And uh it was just so fun. I think that you, as the leader that you are on your team and the understanding that you have of this game, when you're when uh you have a trust that's
Puka’s BFF Call And Sign-Off
SPEAKER_00built on the field that is able to extend off the field, it allows for everything to happen on Sundays to look like it's a movie. Like we uh everybody's on the same page, like it's a synchronized dance, and it's a beautiful thing when that happens, and it and it's fun when it happens.
SPEAKER_04I can't lie, man. When I got the Rams up, you know, then the next week on the on the schedule, I'm like, whoo, we got a day off because it's the easiest offense to go against. No, I'm playing, I'm playing. Listen, of course, yeah, I got I know I gotta deal with you, I gotta deal with freaking Matt. Uh all y'all boys over there, y'all. Y'all was rolling this year, and uh, you know, we'll we'll have some more battles in our first battle being uh against against y'all in down under Australia. Uh would you like to wish any of the players playing in the Super Bowl good luck?
SPEAKER_00Uh, the one and only, the man, the myth, the legend, number 10, the kid from Yakima. Uh I I love you so much, dude. Number 10, Cooper Cup. I'm excited to watch you out there, do your thing, man. Uh you deserve this moment more than anybody. It's an exciting journey that you've been on with your team. Um,
Sponsor: Ascent Protein
SPEAKER_00going all the way to the NFC Championship and getting a chance to play against you. I know you've been there before, you've been to the big dance, you understand what it takes, uh the mental, the mental capacity that it takes, and uh only the physical capacity that it takes. And uh, hey, I hope you have an opportunity to hoist that trophy up. And then uh, hey, you have about uh a couple days to have that uh that parade, the ceremony, and I'll see you back in LA and we're getting right back to it.
SPEAKER_04So for those of you that don't know, uh Puka and Cooper Cup, they train in offseason together, man. Obviously, you guys are built. I'm not sure. So it's safe to say you you're you're rooting for Seattle to win the game, then is that?
SPEAKER_00No, I'm not rooting for Seattle. Oh, you're not? No, I won't say that. No, I'm no, I know you won't see the biggest.
SPEAKER_04You just gave a heartfelt message to the whole of Seattle Nation. No, I think all of the Seattle Seahawks. Hey, we hope that you win the Super Bowl. Everybody in Seattle.
SPEAKER_00Did you guys hear that?
Fred’s Offseason Blueprint
SPEAKER_00Everybody, the Seattle, the 12s, bro. We don't have to be friends, bro. I I I don't want to be your guys' friend. I that my heartfelt message right there that you guys just saw, that was for one person and one person only. All right, good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Uh so yeah, we're both, we hope both teams lose, of course. I definitely hope the Seattle Seahawks lose. You just know how it is, it is different for a divisional rival. Okay, it is what it is.
SPEAKER_00Um we're the best division in football, bro. Like the anybody who uh we had three teams, we had two teams from the same division playing in the NFC championship, bro. Yes. Bro, while everybody's talking about the biggest thing. You were fighting for the one seed, even with all the all the injuries that we had on our side. Y'all got the EMF boys trying to fight to be on the field and stuff, bro.
SPEAKER_04Talking about EMF boys.
SPEAKER_00We out here going head to head, the Seattle winning, Seattle losing, bro. I'm like, you cannot tell me that whatever's happening or where we're playing football is the best football that the NFL has seen.
SPEAKER_04EMF boy, that's a new one. I ain't heard that one. I thought about it. I was talking about it. You kind of you so when you come play us in Levi's, you take a couple years off your life having to play in that one game. No, I got EMF blockers on my phone.
SPEAKER_00I got them like they got it off.
SPEAKER_04What about when you're on the field though, like in your uniform?
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Because you ain't got your phone on you. No, that's true.
SPEAKER_00Keep one in your sock. Hey, I'll put it, I'll bring they have a uh one, like a necklace one. Okay, you better start wearing it.
SPEAKER_04You come to you come to uh old old San Francisco, you better start wearing it.
SPEAKER_00That's why that grass doesn't feel right, but now that I'm speaking about it, we gotta do it. We'll move on. It's not even real.
SPEAKER_04So we got the experience call your BFF segments, and then we want you to go ahead and call whoever you feel your BFF is around the league. Uh call them, call them up and see if they answer. So who are we calling?
SPEAKER_00Hey Siri. Hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up. Hey Siri, FaceTime Devontae Adams.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, Devontae Adams. Let's see if he answers. Is it FaceTime or is it just calling it? No, no, no. I just want to I just want it on you first.
SPEAKER_00Hold on, and then we'll surprise him with me. 1116 on a Friday. I'm here with Fred Warner. BFF challenge. I'm I'm FaceTiming Devontae Adams. It's about the fourth ring. The time on my phone just went to the next minute. That's not a great sign. It's still going. Uh-oh. He's got kids, bro. He's got a whole life. Like, I understand. Like I'm losing.
SPEAKER_04It looks like Devontae Adams has let it be a touchdown.
SPEAKER_00All right, listen, listen. My phone died. My phone died. I apologize. I'm like, this is awkward. I'm like, I can't. Did it die for real? No.
SPEAKER_04All right, listen. It looks like we're out, brother. Thank you so much for joining the show. Keep balling out. First team all pro Pookin the cooler. Future offensive player of the year, Pookin the Cool, man. Hey. We're gonna whoop y'all on Australia too now. Don't get it twisted.
SPEAKER_01The boys from Brigham, you know how we do. That's how that's how it goes, man. Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_04Much love, brother. Much love always. Alright, real ones. Quick break to talk about something that's genuinely part of my routine. This Fred Zone segment is powered by Ascent Protein. So let's talk about, man, the focus for this offseason. My complete and utter focus for this offseason are only two things, all right? That's spending time with my family, of course, and being back better than I ever was before going into next season. So what does that mean? What is that gonna require? That's gonna require a whole different type of work than I've ever put in, but just another type of intentionality to my training, the things I'm doing, I'm the things I'm eating, putting in my body, all that stuff's gotta get dialed in to make sure I'm at my tip top best going into next year. And I just can't wait. It's already in play. All right. I know you you see me doing all this stuff at at uh you know Radio Road during Super Bowl week, the work's still getting put in. Okay, don't don't worry about none of that. Um so typically, what does an off-season look like for me? Um, you know, I think most off-seasons honestly look just like that. It ever since, you know, making my first all-pro team back in 2020, I thought I could just do the exact same thing that I did that year going into the next season, and it would help me do the exact same thing I did last season. That's completely the incorrect way of thinking. You have to now search for things that are better than how you did them before. So, you know, that's every year I'm looking for an advantage to try to add to my game. I'm trying to add to uh the way that I train my recovery and everything I'm doing to make sure I'm at my best going into that year. And so this year is no different. The only difference is the thing that I'm coming back from, which is obviously my ankle injury. So um the days that I'm not working out or thinking about football, of course, I'm standing with my my family. And so I don't have a ton of hobbies. That's the thing. Like people ask me, hey, what do you love to do outside of football? I don't have an answer. Like, I don't do anything. Uh except for be with my family. So, what are my hobbies now? Maybe take my son to gymnastics class, make him take him to the parks. We kick a ball around, we throw a ball around. I'm actually trying right now to work. I I asked Chat GBT, I'm like, how do I create the most athletic child on the planet? And it just says, just go play and go do different things on different surfaces with different shaped balls, and so that's that's what we're doing. That's all we're doing all offseason with my son. My daughter, she's too young to work on anything other than her her weight feeding and making sure that she stays asleep uh consistently. So that's what we're working on with her, and with him, we're working on his athletic ability. All right. Uh what the sports that I love to watch during the offseason, I'm not even sure what sports are going on during the offseason, but I love to watch all sports. I love to watch, especially combat sports. Anytime there's a UFC fight, a boxing match on, I love to be a part of that. Uh, you know, that viewership. I mean, I'm not actually at the fights. Uh I would love to be at a fight. But I also watch, you know, golf, basketball. Basketball I watch more so as it gets into the playoffs. Playoffs, championship basketball. That's when I start watching a little bit more of that. Um, yeah, but I love all the sports. I'll be watching the World Cup. World Cup is at Levi's this year, so that's gonna be legendary. Um But yeah, man, I'm I'm I'm looking forward to watching all the sports. Uh, what's the focus for your turn to play this offseason? So I got my uh my my leg back to being pretty much 100%, right? The fact that I was able to almost play in a playoff game was pretty incredible, uh, if I say so myself. So I guess the the beautiful part is just being able to just jump right back into training and not have any restrictions on Fred, you can't do this. Oh, we gotta keep working
Closing And Where To Follow
SPEAKER_04this. We're gonna keep working different things because that's kind of one of them injuries where you got to make sure that thing gets all the way right, all the way till next season. But um, you know, I think the focus is just, man, just being relentless, being a beast, being violent. And how do you do that? I don't know. You just do everything at a thousand percent every in everything that you do. Um, I want to be the guy out there who has the best cardio of anybody on the field. And so a lot of cardio is gonna go into this offseason. Um, you know, I want to be strong, I want to make sure I'm able to just ragdoll cats. So you got to make sure you put on the strength, but then you can't be stiff, you gotta make sure you're you're flexible and you're working on your mobility and those sort of things. So um, yeah, that's all the things that I'm gonna be working on. And throughout the season, the things that have helped my recovery the most. Everybody knew knows about the hyperbaric chamber thing that went viral, of course, when I'm recovering. They saw my hyperbaric chamber in my garage. I think that's a crucial part of helping recover day to day even quicker than usual. Um, it's it's honestly about the little things when it comes to recovery. You know, the things that you're putting in your body and you're eating, hitting your protein goals, making sure you eat enough carbohydrates, the hydration part of it all, making sure you're hydrated with electrolytes all the time. These are things that, you know, you go and look at old old Tom Brady, the best to ever do it, and he got the TB12 method book. I made sure to buy the book and I'm I'm looking through the book. Now, he he got you know some extremes in there where he's, you know, eating most plant-based and all this kind of stuff. You know, I gotta make sure I get my meats in there, the the red meats and the chickens and the fishes. So that's a part of my regime as well. But man, it talks so much about the hydration, making sure your body is pliable so that it can take on the demands of getting beaten up for an entire 20-week season. Uh, you know, so that's what I'm I'm making sure I'm focusing on to make sure my recovery is in tip top, not just in season, but year-round. So um my message to the 49er Faithful on next season is look out. I know the Super Bowl next year is in LA. You can book it that we're gonna be in LA, all right, competing for a Super Bowl championship. And uh, man, I mean, I would love to know everybody's opinion about us going to all Australia. So let's let's hear about that. So that's a wrap. A massive thanks to Kyle Hamilton and Puka Nakua for stopping by.
