Why You Feel Stuck Despite Doing the Work: Plus Breathwork w/ Melisa Guyett
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You know your patterns. You’ve read the books, taken the courses, and built the morning routine. So why do you still feel stuck?
Melissa “Mel” Guyot, founder of the Embodied Human Project with Mel, joins Renae Mansfield to explore overthinking, self-improvement burnout, and the gap between self-awareness and actually changing your habits. We unpack how personal growth can become another performance review — and how constantly chasing your next accomplishment can leave you disconnected from the life you’re building.
Mel shares her experience with 9D breathwork and moving beyond constant analysis. Stay for the breathwork experience at the end, including participation guidance. Save that portion for a safe, quiet setting when you aren’t driving or doing anything that requires your attention.

Have you ever understood why you do something and then just gone right back and done it anyway? Yeah, because knowing a pattern and changing it are completely two different things. So today we're gonna get into that gap. Why more self-awareness doesn't always lead to change and what it actually looks like to pursue growth without turning yourself into just another damn project. We're also going to try something together at the end so you can actually experience a piece of this instead of just hearing us talk about it. So if this is your kind of conversation, go ahead and follow the Hustle Rebels so you don't miss the next one. And today, my guest is Melissa Gyatt, the founder of the Embodied Human Project. Mel helps people move from knowing to becoming through mindset facilitation, 9D breath work, and somatic experiences. She's a longtime personal development practitioner and a David Bayer certified facilitator who spent years exploring a question that I think a lot of us can resonate with. Why can I understand exactly what's going on with me but still struggle to change it? Her focus is on that gap between awareness and actually experiencing something different, especially for people whose drive to grow has turned into just one more way to make themselves a project. So, Mel, welcome to the Hustle Rebels.
SPEAKER_01Thank you so much, Renee. I'm so excited to be here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I cannot wait to have everyone listening experience the breath work with you too. I know that a lot of us hustlers have a very difficult time getting out of our heads and into our bodies. So one thing that I would love to start off with is that you have spent a lot of your life thinking, if I could just understand enough, I could finally change, right? What does that look for you day to day?
SPEAKER_01So on a day-to-day basis, it is finding new courses, collecting certifications, being in inquiry all the time from a very left-brain analytic standpoint in terms of what's available and how do I access the deeper parts of myself by utilizing the mind to understand various things. So I could create like the list is exhaustive, it becomes exhausting, it occupies the majority of my thoughts, actually, or it had. The degree to which the mind can get in the way is something that David Baer's mindset work has helped me to become aware of. And so then I've recently wanting to find a different approach, not a shortcut, but something that I can actually integrate. And in that search, that is what led me to 9D, which is a breathwork modality, but it's a breathwork modality that combines many of the other modalities that I was exploring individually. So talking about like solfegio frequencies, binaural beats, music that's tuned to 432 Hertz, and then the actual somatics of the breathwork process itself. Because I have done other breath work modalities also. And this one in particular, I find there's enough stimulus in the experience that occupies the left side of my brain or the thinking that it is able to move beyond that. So I've been able to have the left brain occupied and then allow the experience to reach the subconscious and into the body, like neck down.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I want to speak into a little bit for a lot of left brainers because we're not allowed, you know. And I'm one of them too. And I'm also a musician, and I want to speak into this because we talk about breath work, and a lot of times you think of like yoga and even talking about like somatic work, we think it's like soft, and we just have this different mentality about it, right? And I was one of them, you know. You would say, Renee, you would be into this shit five years ago. I would tell you to like go fuck yourself because it would just, it just wouldn't be something that would cross my radar. But now experiencing all of this stuff and how much it has changed, it is interesting, especially as a musician. I got this new pedal board and it like you can actually change the frequency of how you're tuning to like 432 when other ones are actually changing the frequency of 440. I can't even remember, I might be incorrect. But at the end of the day, even those slight frequencies, your ears cannot always tell the difference, but it is a slight difference. And then even just like what you were saying, there's different types of modality of breath work where I was utilizing some types of breath work that helps calm your nervous system as a paramedic and actually decreases your heart rate. But then when I experienced that breath work that we did at the Powerful Living experience, oh my gosh, it like released trauma that I couldn't even explain that I had never done with just box breathing. So I just I know that we're gonna get into that for sure, but when was the moment that you realized that you were still living intellectually and that something had to change?
SPEAKER_01And I think it was the exhaustive surge, like it didn't end. You can have a great experience in meditation. I could have a great experience in yoga or other fitness things and Reiki and some other energetic practices. Those were all valuable, they're all good, and even in terms of breath work, there's a value in the small pieces that a lot of therapists will use. They'll talk about box breathing and something you can teach children for nervous system regulation. It's all great. And a really great one that's gonna move you from your sympathetic nervous system state into parasympathetic. A really interesting one is to take uh count of it's four, two, and six. So it's a deep inhale of four, a hold for two, and then an exhale of six seconds. So a longer exhale than the inhale, and it's just gonna help change your state. So then those are all good and valuable, but to get into something that's truly transformative, that is what I love about this 9D modality. And it's something that's supplementary. I'm not saying you don't need therapy or you can quit all the other modalities and things you're doing, but it is supplementary because it does allow you to release, whether it be trauma, which we all have to varying degrees, whether it be held patterns, whether it's epigenetics. The more I'm learning about epigenetics, I'm like, oh my gosh, we all have stored trauma. Bessel Vanderhoog has a great book called The Body Keeps a Score, talking about how your body actually retains everything that happens to you. And the interesting thing is so much of it happens pre-cognition, like in those first seven years. So the wild thing about it is you can't talk about it in therapy because you didn't have language for it. So you had experiences that you don't have language for, that thereby talk therapy isn't going to help you release. Whereas this opportunity enables you to tap into the wisdom of your body. And even when you talk about frequencies, there's frequencies like the ear can't hear. Your body can. Your body runs on frequency. Every cell creates frequency or electromagnetic. So frequency is becoming a more well-known treatment modality for all kinds of therapies. Things like even rife therapy runs on frequencies or some of the other visual light, light wave frequency. Like there is a lot of science behind frequency medicine. There's a big body of science behind it too. But the biggest lever for me was being in the training sessions. The founder of the 9D breathwork modality that I like is a man named Brian Kelly. And in multiple training sessions, he'll talk about how you don't have to understand how the body releases the trauma or stored emotion. You don't have to understand it. Your body knows. Your body has a wisdom that is not something that you have to intellectualize. I remember the first time I heard it, I'm like, oh, thank goodness. What a relief. Like, I can just, I can have healing, I can have relief from symptoms. In my case, it's been some chronic pain, which is a manifestation of some imbalances. And I don't have to understand it. I don't have to figure out why or analyze it or have a system or anything. I have to put on headphones and I recommend an eye mask as well. So you're able to really tune into your body, but it's not from a place of thinking about it. It's from a place of your body is receiving inputs that allow it to release and to heal and to process and metabolize. And my bigger vision is that the more people that can metabolize what is stored in their body, the better society is going to become because they're creating a society that manifests through the lens of their trauma. So the more healed each individual can become, the more it's going to benefit society. We'll have a more healed society. Even parents. Parents who are dysregulated are not able to raise regulated children. Like it starts on a one-to-one basis. The degree to which you can be regulated in your own body can influence whatever space you're in, even if you don't say a word. So that's my current exploration and target.
SPEAKER_00I love how excited you get, to be honest. You can tell you're very passionate about it for sure. But I actually had someone on here that works with infants and mothers who would say the exact same thing. There's no verbal communication between the two. But if the mother is dysregulated, the infant is never going to be regulated either. It's really interesting how you describe that you just don't need to understand, especially for the analytical brain, because we tried to grasp at straws. Like, I just need to understand. But coming from my own experience, there's been the two times that I have done some of these healing modality breath works. There's really no other way to explain it other than you just don't need to understand. It just happens. And my own experience with healing my back, I mean, I was on that roller coaster of trying to heal my back of chronic pain after my back surgery, not understanding, if anything, I couldn't understand why I couldn't heal my back because I was doing everything that I should be doing right. And until I did something similar with a breathwork situation, it didn't make sense why I did heal it. But it's funny because sometimes us hustlers, we're just so good at doing the work, it almost just becomes another thing to be good at, right? Like it becomes another performance review. Have you caught yourself doing that as you're learning these modalities and chasing these certifications?
SPEAKER_01Well, I love that you say that because there was a period where I had the morning ritual and you did five minutes of meditation, then you did some journaling, and then you drank some water, and then you did some yoga, and then you did all these things. And I did, it was a checklist, and I came to a realization that I was getting more satisfaction, if you will, or like the motivation to do it was to check it off the list, not to do the thing for the value of the thing itself. Right. So it was more about this accountability thing, and I'm like, that's crazy. And you could feel it was weighty some days. It's like, okay, I gotta do 10 things before I can start my day. And so that's part of why I'm loving this one, because I'm doing nine things at once. It feels like great time management, really does. But kidding aside, it does have a multi-layered approach. And for me, so that is the left brain part that likes that I'm doing all these approaches. I'm encompassing a number of things that are individually transformation. So the fact that they're layered, I love. And then the other thing is I have done other modalities of breath work. And there's times I don't feel like doing it. And sometimes I'm like, oh, I don't want to go ball my ass off. Right. And I don't want to breathe and think about breathing and all this thing, and it's guided and it's a lot of work. So again, the thing I liked about this particular modality is there's so much that I do like in terms of the soundscape. If you're laying there, just laying there, you're receiving affirmations, subliminal messages, binaural beats, like you're getting all this experience, even if you're not wanting to do like the go after it kind of breathing. We do actually have a whole range of very specific and targeted journeys. They're called breath work journeys that are curated for specific goals. And there's a whole series that's downregulating. There's a whole series that's upregulating for energy or sports performance or focus. And you've got stuff that's five minutes long, and you've got things that are an hour and a half. So there's a whole range of what is going to be supportive to you. And of course, it depends on your experience in your journey thus far and what you're needing to accomplish. I'm reminded of there's a saying or like a concept that there's a thousand ways to the top of the mountain, and the mountain being peak state, evolution, or living in your fullest expression, or something like that. So there's all kinds of ways. This is a path that I find to be very accessible, very transformational. And then the rest of this the expression is the only one wasting time is the person running around the bottom saying that's not the way. Like this is a great way. And I was sharing that with someone and they said, Yeah, the view from the top's the same. So if you got a good vehicle, that's awesome. I've tried so many of them. I've got in many of them. I got certified in many of them because that's the best way to learn and try and take in information, is be prepared to teach. But this particular vehicle, I love it. I've got projects I'm starting to plan out for like the women's shelter. Talk about a group of individuals with stored trauma. We've got a men's shelter as well. Same thing. It's a little bit of a different focus, right? We've got an addiction center. There's so much opportunity to give people a tool that that's really accessible and that is gonna move the needle. It's going to. I haven't seen anyone where you're not receiving a benefit. And if the benefit is a few moments out of your racing mind, that's a tremendous value. If the benefit is you're able to undo layers of stored trauma for decades or generations, like holy smokes. And that's I think each person that that can be your biggest uh contribution to society to regulate yourself, to to release your stored trauma. As I said early, like metabolize it through your system so you're not you're not living through that lens. You become a more healed version. If you feel like you're someone who isn't in a position to go and pick up a big mantle of some cause, this is something you can do for your own body, in your own home, in any space you occupy. It's something that you can do and you can have impact, and the impact is huge. The ripple effect is surprising. It's my hope that folks do something to really support themselves and their body and make the most of this opportunity they have for this experience in this lifetime.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's not weak to be a healed individual, honestly, and to check out all the different tools, which is why I had initially try to do the toolbox with the podcast, because, like you were saying, there are so many different modalities to help people heal, and there's different seasons that people go through, and sometimes one is just really resonant and helps you get in tune with your body, which I want to just kind of tap back into because I think that that's something that we also just don't do or just know how to do because we've been trained out of it. I was at a networking event just yesterday with the local chamber of commerce, and I was just talking, they were asking me about burnout recovery and what that means. And I was talking to them about how we have been trained to not know what it feels like to be in tune with our body. And burnout is just a lot more than being overworked in the amount of hours that we're working. And I've been thinking a lot about how, even with myself, how we don't ever even just sit with our successes either. And how we can work, work, work to attain something, no matter what it might be, some type of win, some type of goal. And then it's just on to the next one, right? We don't just sit with that win. We don't allow it to rest in our body and be like, we're gonna celebrate this, right? And I was just thinking about it even last week. I'm like, I've never even celebrated big accomplishments, let alone small accomplishments. And so, like, do you think sometimes people are just chasing a feeling that they expect success will give them rather than noticing what success kind of feels like once they get there? And how do we kind of get into that as hustlers? Because then we're always just kind of chasing next things, which is kind of the next dopamine hits, right? Which means we're never actually sitting with presence and like the feeling of goals and wins and accomplishments, and we're never satisfied. What does that look like when we go back into our bodies when we feel that?
SPEAKER_01Well, what's interesting is our definition of accomplishments. Yeah. What are accomplishments? Like healing generational trauma. That sounds like a pretty big accomplishment to me. But yeah, we're not attuned. And depending on how big the listenership is, I know maybe some cultures are a little more so, or some professions, certainly people in an energy healing profession, but that's not everyone. And we're trained to think that the brain is the most important tool we have, or like that that's what governs our happiness, or you think into like states of happiness or things. But truly, the heart, the body has electromagnetic signature that's multiple times the brain. Like it's much more powerful. Your ability to impact people through an energetic heart connection is so much more important. Your body's actually more important than your brain. I think I read something too. Your brain can go longer without oxygen than your body. Like your body's more important. But yeah, it's wild. I think it is a definition about what an accomplishment is, I think the key thing. If what you might suggest you want to feel from an accomplishment is joy, satisfaction, or like the feeling in your body, or is it just like an intellectual pursuit? Because actually, there are some journeys that can create a euphoria. Like there's a DMT journey, which talks about like altering the state of how you feel in your body. Like you could elicit a joyful feeling in your body, which is an accomplishment, outside of anything that's material or societal recognition in a traditional sense, or something that earns you a pat on the back, or you could certainly be embodied within your own being and generate like the feelings. So, what you're talking about in terms of feeling the accomplishments, feeling into that, that becomes like a mental exercise and would be like I think something for a coaching space that encourages you to identify what accomplishments are and what the value of them is to you. Because quite often accomplishments are something that people seek from a validation perspective. Whereas a modality like breathwork would, and not that we don't want people to be complacent, like I'm not gonna say that. I want people to chase accomplishments, but not as a means of validation or not as a means to feel something internally in their body, because that is available, like you're whole and worthwhile and valuable, and you can feel that without what would be considered a workplace accomplishment or a social media accomplishment or something. Yeah, we could celebrate hey, I am feeling fabulous today, and I'm worthy, and I'm kick ass. This is amazing. Great day to be alive. Like it's an accomplishment to feel that way, you know, in my opinion. And if you live from that state, you are serving other people. So again, in terms of what has value and what an accomplishment is, I think is a worthwhile inquiry into what each individual requires in terms of validation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I think a lot of it too just stems from the fact that we don't live in the present either. And we're so chasing that next high that we're just not allowing ourselves to, you know, and social media doesn't help either, right? Because we either doom scroll or we're comparing ourselves to whatever it might be. But just to sit there and be present with the fact that you did just work really hard to accomplish something and allowing yourself to be present in that moment. It's funny because you even talk to people that like don't celebrate birthdays anymore. They don't celebrate anniversaries. So it's just like, oh, it's just another day in the calendar. But then it's just like we don't even know what time is anymore. It's going by so fast. You need to go, depending on who you're talking about, they'll blame it on CERN, you know, who even knows. But at the end of the day, I feel like we're so out of tune with our bodies that we just keep going going because we just aren't present anymore. And I have found that breath work just allows you to sit there and be like, wow, this is just really powerful. Even if it is like, you know, I'm alive right now, my lungs are filling with air. Like, that's crazy to think about, really.
SPEAKER_01Well, every day it can be a celebration. And there is something to celebrate in every day. It aligns with the gratitude practice.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So even just kind of thinking about that when we are more in our heads and we can get more aware when we're too aware of things, and then people start to get a little stuck. How can breath work help people get out of that stuck awareness per se, I guess, where they're feeling like, man, I know I'm fucked up, I know I got all this shit, but I do the work, I do the courses, I am doing, doing, doing, doing, but I still feel stuck. What would you say to that type of individual?
SPEAKER_01So the stuckness is a nervous system state. And so if you're in a stuck or if you're using that language, that language comes from the state of your nervous system. So if you move your nervous system into a parasympathetic state, different thoughts will arise. So that above the neck and below the neck, when you are in that sympathetic state and you're wanting to analyze and think about, and you're not in an embodied place. And the thoughts won't even come to you if you're stuck in that state. So you would move to a parasympathetic nervous state, which will give rise to completely different thoughts.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And you can't access them, and you're in one state, you just don't access the possibility that's going to appear available when you're in a different state.
SPEAKER_00And I think a lot of it too, how you had mentioned that some of those things have stuck with you before you even had the language to understand what has even happened, you know. Even in my own experience, you realize that you're doing things as an adult sometimes when you sit in the presence and you're just like, why do I do what I'm doing? Why am I a people pleaser? Why do I not have boundaries with this person? Or why am I still attracted to this particular individual or this particular job? And then when you start sitting with that and you ask those questions, and it's the same thing. You have that breathwork experience, and it just helps you heal that trauma because you don't understand maybe when you were in that age period, something might have happened to you. You know, it doesn't even have to necessarily blame it on your parents, but just some sort of experience that you might have had that you never really understood that kind of was brought to the surface as an adult.
SPEAKER_01So it is really because you didn't understand or you had no context, you assigned a meaning that's simply not accurate. Exactly. And when you're talking about those, there is a value in the intellectual pursuit of your patterns. And I know you know lots of tools. We've got the new decision matrix or some things that you can look at and exercises that you can do that are intellectual. Because there is a piece that is satisfying. It's not that you you don't do anything with your rational mind. Right. But it's it's not enough. It's just not enough. And it will keep you stuck. Yeah. If you rely solely on that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's a healthy balance. Yeah, you're right. Not trying to take you out of the intellectual and only into your body or out of your body into the intellectual all the time. There's that healthy balance because you have to analyze why you are acting in the way you are, but at the same time, it can get you stuck in overanalyzing without being into your body, which is like getting out of your head and into your body is something that people hear all the time, right? So for someone who's thinking, like, cool, what does that mean on like a Tuesday afternoon? Like, how would you explain that then for someone who is an intellectual that's like, I don't know how to get into my body. That sounds really weird.
SPEAKER_01Well, and that's that is exactly why I love this modality, because you can seriously put on headphones and choose an appropriate journey and press play or reach out for support. It's like, so to me, you have to find something that will engage the rational mind if you want to access your body. Like if you're at the gym and you're counting reps and you're exerting your muscles, it does give your mind something to do, the counting. So it enables you to just have some reprieve from the chatter, the judgment, and be focused on the activity at hand for some people. Or runners, you've heard of runner's high. You're focused not on thought, right? Because you're just you're engaged in your body, then you're able to have a your mind can be at peace, and it's not in an analysis. So, in this case, like I said, I think it's just so accessible. Someone can press play, and there's so much stimulus that is supportive. Like I think binaural beats, for example, and I even had someone, one lady mention this after a journey last night. It's just like a massage. So she has done binaural beats, a brain massage. She's done binaural beats in the past because she likes it, it's calming, and she might identify as having a condition that is similar to ADHD or something like that. But she says, yes, about binaural beats in and of itself is a great way to get out of your mind, out of the busyness. Whereas you layer in all the other supportive pieces, and I think in this case it is as simple as pressing play. And this is for people who don't have some tool that works for them. Everyone's different. And this may not be everyone's tool, but I happen to think everyone can benefit. When you first start on a breath work journey, we can do a CO2 tolerance test. And if your CO2 tolerance, for example, is very low, and on an out breath, you can only hold your breath for 10 seconds before you're having a lot of breath hunger. That's an indicator of stress, anxiety, some other health challenges, whether it's cardiovascular. There's some things to be looked at. And so it gives like a benchmark as to where you can kind of focus your attention and have a plan for making improvements. Yeah, somebody that's living with anxiety is going to be a chest breather. They're not taking deep belly breaths. And again, that's something that will bridge that mind body. So anxiety lives in the mind, and moving the breath into the body is something that helps minimize that or deal with that, along with the social supports and the counseling and medication in some cases. But it's so supportive to everyone that that I've met. Yeah. It's one of those things. Yeah. I mean, we're all breathing anyway, let's face it. One example they use, they'll say, if you look at a newborn, newborns will belly breathe. So that's how the body is supposed to be taking an air to sustain their system. They come to be present. Newborns and children are very in the moment. The emotions just flow through them and they're very in the moment. Honestly, that's where tantrums come from. But that's supposed to be good for you. So, and then as as we get older and have experiences, we can become more disconnected. Often, I think we become more disconnected from from the body and healthy breeding patterns and and a number of healthy patterns. Like even children can intuitively eat as well. Or they they just they're more embodied. So that's why my project I call my I call my adventure here uh project, because I have been my own project for so long. And and this is this is where I'm at.
SPEAKER_00I love that. Before we hop into the experiential, something that has stuck with me that you had written in your form earlier is that you had asked the question, what's the point of building a life you're too distracted from yourself to experience? And I feel like that is resonant for a lot of people, and especially in this overworked culture, right? That we feel disconnected from ourselves and from our purpose in life. When did that become personal for you?
SPEAKER_01I think over the pursuit, it was the constant seeking. Like it was the pursuit of something. I don't know that I was exactly sure what, but there just had to be more. I remember the time I know parenting when your kids are home. It's a very busy time, and you can be consumed by doing things. Now, the things you're doing are often in service to others, but it created a real disconnect with being present to yourself because you were always doing things for others and caring for your household and your children. And I know it's you can get lost in that. I know women can get lost. And my personal journey really stepped into high gear when my youngest moved out. So at that point, so much of your identity is is my case was wrapped up in that particular role. So some people can get their whole identity wrapped up in a role that is their career or their role as a parent or their role as a spouse or their role as a daughter. I had a lot of caregiving responsibilities as well. I find that all the things you have to do take over an opportunity or space and time to be. And I'm sure you've heard we're human beings. We're designed to be. We're not human doings. Every time I hear that I'll have someone say that, I'm like, oh, that sounds so damn corny, but it's true. It's like we are human beings. You gotta be in your body where you are, in in interfacing. I like this word too, interfacing with your environment, not just manipulating it, but actually feeling through your body where you are, who you get to interact with. And I have noticed too interact with people differently, right? Because your body's an antenna. And with the advancement of more and more AI, the body's the only thing that's gonna differentiate us. So that's what you have that's unique, and because thoughts are accessible to everyone now. You're not unique in being able to generate thought. Everyone's body and biology and essence or the soul that's connected to that resonance is a unique expression.
SPEAKER_00So that's what I want to cultivate. I love that. I love your passion about it too. So great.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's the thing. I have the same. I don't want to come here just to exist. I don't want to just exist. So feel all the feels.
SPEAKER_00We have talked about the difference between understanding something and experiencing it. So I would love to give all the listeners a chance to know what you mean. So you're gonna guide us through the short breath work experience. So when if you're driving, working, or doing anything that needs your attention, I advise you to save this part for later. But if you're joining in, you can go at your pace and you can keep your eyes open, breathe. Mel's going to obviously give us some guidance. But before we start, Mel, what should people expect? And is there anyone that should sit this one out or any guidance that you would like to offer for us?
SPEAKER_01I love that. Thank you. So I'm just gonna share a it's a journey, it's a curated piece. All of the 90 pieces are curated. And so this happens to be a cinematic trailer, they call it. It does explain to you how it's crafted. So the first 10 minutes is an explanation. It allows you to hear the different sounds individually and then how they're blended together. And then this particular one just includes a five-minute activation journey. So it does have like two rounds of breathing. It is considered activation breathing. It does have two breath holds, which tend to be the opportunity for you to be in pure stillness. The activation journeys are contraindicated for folks that are pregnant, that have high blood pressure, have epilepsy, or are taking medication for their mental health, like heavy duty medication. That's the word they use. That's why I shared it that way. Being aware of that, I would encourage everyone to listen to the first 10 minutes. Be aware that the journey itself, the five minutes, is an activation. And if you happen to be someone who it's contraindicated for to do the activating stuff, there's a lot of downregulating journeys. So you would just let me know, and there is a real benefit and a real way to address some of the other like cardiovascular conditions or things like that. And then pregnancy, you would really benefit from a downregulating journey because those are going to be calming, restorative. And I was just going through some training and information yesterday about the benefits of an entire downregulating journey program over multiple weeks. So you can still get there, if you will. There's still tremendous benefits. You can still be metabolizing stored trauma or reaching states of relaxation, peak states, things like that. But there is a difference. So that is, I just wanted to give you that up front that that's going to be in the last five minutes. I encourage everyone to listen through the first 10. So that is this little snippet. And of course, we'd love to share more after, answer questions and share the opportunities as well.
SPEAKER_00All right. They have to put on the headphones too, right? Do you recommend a certain type of headphones or oh goodness.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. Thank you for reminding me. You definitely need headphones to experience the sound. Ideally, wired headphones. I know not everyone has wired headphones now, but it's better for the sound, and it's actually way better for your brain to be subjecting your brain to Bluetooth as frequency is not recommended. So wired headphones if you have them, still valuable if you have Bluetooth headphones, you'll want to wear those, and an eye covering. Like, really intentionally create a time for you to carve out a few moments to experience it. So quiet space, be uninterrupted. The nice thing about having this as a recorded episode is you can come back to it multiple times as well. Create what you might consider a sanctuary. Like that's self-honoring. So carve out a few moments for yourself to see if this is something that's gonna support what's possible for you.
SPEAKER_00Great. Put on those headphones. I'm gonna let that play, and we will see you in the next 15 minutes.
SPEAKER_02We live in a time of unprecedented change, happening at an almost unbelievable speed. Never before have human beings had such easy access to the absolute best mind-bending healing technologies that this world has to offer. The most powerful tools for personal transformation and human evolution are in the hands of the people, and we get to decide what to do with them. I'm going to take you on a journey today. Into the mysterious world of your own subconscious mind. But before we begin, make sure you're sitting back super comfortable. This will make sure you get the most out of this experience. Are you ready? Are you ready?
unknownAre you ready?
SPEAKER_02Now, close your eyes and allow your mind to wander. What would happen if someone brought together the most powerful tools for trauma healing and transformation together all in one? Techniques that when combined can deliver the results of years of coaching and therapy into a single mind-expanding experience. Well, let me show you. Jump in. Let's take a ride. Now, let's start with some nice big full deep breaths into your nose, pull the breath down into your belly, and let the exhale just fall away. And just do your best to stay anchored to your breath throughout this little demonstration. Now, today you're going to experience the combined power of healing sound, conscious breath, and transformational language. You may have noticed by now this is no ordinary recording. This is just small taste at the expense of soundscapes of 9D breath work. It has a powerful effect on your imagination, making things way more real than they actually are. And because the subconscious mind can't tell the difference between what's real and what's imagined, we'll be using 9D sound as a powerful tool to expand your awareness. We'll also be using music because research has shown that listening to music can quickly and radically alter your mental and emotional state. Not just in music, though. Use the artist creates an house with original vocals designed to take you even deeper into the depths of your own mind. We also tuned our music to 432 Hz, which is mathematically consistent with the universe. It induces a sense of calm and clarity and will leave you feeling relaxed and completely at ease. Remember the track we played at the beginning? Yeah, that's the one. Sounds good, doesn't it? It's tuned to 432 Hertz. Now that's it for sound. Next up, breath. If you've stayed with the breathing pattern up until now, you should already be feeling it in your body. We're just getting started. Now, if you've never tried schematic 9B breath work before, this is going to blow your mind. You won't be breathing like you normally do. During 9B breath work, you'll be breathing like a runaway freighter. Breath work's been used by the great masters for thousands of years, and it's now been proven to be one of the safest and fastest ways to release trapped emotions. Heal complex traumas. Rewired your brain and reprogrammed your subconscious mind, which is where all of your beliefs, emotions, habits, reactions, imaginations, and intuition are stored. And whether you realize it or not, your subconscious mind controls 95% of your life. And when it comes to creating any real and lasting transformation, it's one million times more powerful than your conscious mind. Crazy, right? Now once you have access to your subconscious mind, how you program it dictates literally every aspect of your life. And yes, it's completely possible to program and reprogram your own mind. Which brings us to the power of language. Language is how we program ourselves. And once deep into a somatic 9D breathwork experience, the carefully crafted patterns of language begin to install new programs for your human operating system. How we do this is by using what's called hypnotic suggestion. It's a way of planting powerful positive ideas, suggestions, and beliefs directly into your subconscious mind. And with hypnotic suggestion, you can read your deepest, darkest limitations into your greatest strengths. Your position of power. And one of the best ways to do this is with what's called Subliminal Messages. I'm confident in my abilities and believe in my potential. Now think of these like new software that upgrades. And rewrite your old limiting beliefs, replacing them with new mantras that map your chosen future. But here's the crazy part your conscious mind won't even notice them because they'll be embedded into the music. Check this out. Here's a bit of music. Here are the little messages again. I am the architect of my destiny and create my life and designer. I am confident. I am in the needs of the evil. And this is them both together. Crazy, right? Starting to see how this all fits together. Good. But we're not done yet. Because there's one more powerful ingredient that we're cracking open is this little cosmic mixing bolt. Maybe you've heard of it. They're called bineural beats. They're a set of very specific frequencies that slow down and trigger certain brainwave states. Just listening to these can make you more focused and more alert than drinking that triple shot of espresso. Or more relaxed than a foot massage on a lazy afternoon on your own private beach. And just like the subliminals, the bineural beats will be layered into the 432 Hertz music, so you're not even gonna notice them. Listen. Now listen to this long enough, and your brainwave state will automatically shift without you having to lift a finger. So imagine this going on in the background. With the positive subliminal messages playing directly into your subconscious mind, or you're being guided in a world-class mind-binding 9D breathwork journey experience, and all of it being delivered in super high definition Hollywood level produced 9D sound. Yet? Good. Because now it's time to try just a short sample of the real thing. Nothing like this has ever been done before. And you just so happen to be in the right place at the right time to experience personal transformation history being written. I'm stoked you're here. Here we go. Today's session is just five minutes for a nice reset of the body and the mind. The following is a short but very powerful activation sequence. We'll be doing two rounds of two minutes with a one-minute breath hold following the first round and a minute breath hold to close out the session. Taking nice big, full, deep breaths all in and out through the mouth. You can adjust to your nose if it gets uncomfortable, but either way, filling up your lungs near maximum capacity. Go ahead and get yourself situated in a nice, comfortable, reclined position. And we'll begin in three, two, one. Nice big four deep breath. Fully in. It's time to release and letting go. Inhale and expand. Relax and let go. Nice big four deep breaths. All in and out through the mouth, filling up your lungs. And on the exhale, just relax, just relax, and let it fall away, and let it fall away. Stay with those nice big full deep breaths. Yeah, but it's quiet white. Every breath activating, every breath activating. Every breath expanding. Every breath expanding. Every breath resetting the mind and the body and skill you to relax. Bringing you back to a natural state of equilibrium.
SPEAKER_03No way.
SPEAKER_02Already one minute, just one minute to go. Let's deal with it. Fully in. Letting go. Inhale and expand. Inhale and expand it. Relax and let go. Relax and let go. Yeah, we're just quite still. Coming up on our first breath holds. On my count, you're gonna take a nice big full deep breath. And you're gonna hold your breath over. And three, two, one, big breath in and hold. With your breath in, tune your awareness into the sensations in your body. Take a moment to notice the softness of your mind. Quiet, quiet, quiet, still, unencumbered by any stress or worry, any anxiety or any overwhelm. Allowing all that bottled up energy to take a break. Letting your body simply be without the chaos and the clutter of the mind. No distractions, no frustration, simply present in the moment. Coming back in for our second and final round of two minutes. In three, three, three, two, one, release, and coming back. Fully in. It's time to resist letting go all the way in and letting the exhale just fall away. Just way every exhale, an opportunity to let go completely. Your mind is quiet. Just you and your nice big full activating breath. Already feeling it in the body. Feeling it and knowing that after this session, you're gonna walk away feeling fully in control with a relaxed and centered mind. Feeling everything, feeling everything, and reacting to nothing, reacting to nothing, never wearing to be. Giving yourself permission to be in your center for the rest of the day. It's out to take a break. Letting any chaos unfold around you, but not being sucked into it.
SPEAKER_03Nowhere to be.
SPEAKER_02In the eye of the tornado. This should be your home for the rest of the day. Yep. And just letting tomorrow take care of itself. Fully hit letting go. Fully hit and release.
SPEAKER_03Fully hit letting go.
SPEAKER_02And on my count, taking it one last nice big breath in and hold it. It's time to reset. Tell me to take a break. By letting down any worries and concerns. Now it's safe for you to relax. Three, three, two, one, fully in at the top, hold your breath. Where is safe for you to burn with your breath in? Simply notice any sensations that you may feel. Notice the beating of your own heart. The quality of your mind. The quality of your mind. The peace. The peace. The stillness. The stillness. Take a moment and simply register this as your natural state. As Maria Konakova said, the most powerful mind is the quiet mind. It is the mind that is present. Reflective. On my count, nice big release. And three, two, one, let it go. Bah thank you for joining us for this five-minute 9D breathwork session. Come back anytime you need to come back to your center. We'll see you on the next session. This has been a 9D breathwork experience brought to you by 9D breathwork.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so we've just experienced the 90 breath work session. And uh just want to give you guys an opportunity to come out of it, and I hope you guys had a great experience. I just kind of want to pull this together a little bit because we had talked a lot about knowing your patterns inside and out and how you've been feeling stuck and the point of self-improvement, how it could look suspiciously like some old pressure dressed in a nice outfit. And then Mel had given us that chance to actually pause and notice what happens when we do experience something instead of trying to solve ourselves for a minute. Before I let you guys go, I just want to ask Mel, what is one thing that you just hope someone takes from this conversation?
SPEAKER_01I hope that it gives someone hope. That there's something more for them, something easy in the scope of everything that's available to you from a personal development perspective or ways to nourish your body. I believe this to be very robust in terms of its capacity to be transformative. So I hope that there are people that share that desire or that draw or that it's gonna help me to be a more peaceful person, a more peaceful partner, parent, a peaceful co-worker, and serve to support and leave me feeling empowered and that it's gonna enhance their experience.
SPEAKER_00And we definitely wanna know how your experience was, especially if you've never experienced this breath work before. So if you're joining us on YouTube or any of the podcast platforms, please leave a comment down below and let us know how you felt during the entire experience. And Mel, please let everyone know how we can find you and any type of contact that we can have with you.
SPEAKER_01So I do have social pages. The project and the website is called The Embodied Human Project with Mel. So the website is the Embodied Human Project with Mel.com. On there, I have complimentary sessions you can hop into on Tuesdays from the comfort of your own home, headphones, and we'll talk. And if you're having some mindset issues as well, there is a space to talk about that. So those are every Tuesday at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Eastern. It's a nice interactive space. There are some small journeys all the way to one-on-one coaching and support. So there's a number of packages, certainly the free ones very accessible, and then there's like a small seven-day package, there's a six-week, and then there's 12-month journeys. Whatever is supportive for you. We do live events as well, and we can do them local to meet. We do host events other places. I just returned from Costa Rica where we led breath work for over 100 folks. So those types of experiences are available as well. And it's also an opportunity for your place of employment to have mental wellness breaks or to have another modality that supports folks from a work-life balance perspective. Appeals to employers in terms of productivity as well. The happy folks are just more productive.
SPEAKER_00That is very, very true. So if you want to explore Mel's work, you can find the Embodied Human Project on her website, and I will put all of the links in the show notes along with her socials. So if this episode made you think of either yourself or somebody else who's been trying to figure themselves out for years, please send it to them. Follow along with the Hustle Rebels and let us know what came up with you because like I've been saying, I am a nosy neighbor. I really would love to know what's going on in your guys' life. So you are allowed to want more from your life and be here for the ones that you love. See you guys next time.
