Chris Alstat is the owner of Eclectic Herb, a company rooted in over 40 years of herbal tradition and the Eclectic Physicians legacy. 


With her background as a naturopath and her Japanese and New Zealand heritage, Chris brings both cultural wisdom and clinical understanding to her work with plants. 


She's the steward of a historic herbal library, a passionate advocate for freeze-dried herbal supplements that preserve the full vitality of plants, and someone who believes deeply in the power of plant medicine to support healing. 


Chris shares practical, science-rooted herbal wisdom wrapped in stories, history, and a genuine love for the plants that have guided her own journey from a health crisis to owning one of the most respected herbal companies in the field.

Mel Mutterspaugh

Mel Mutterspaugh is a clinical herbalist, herbal educator at Eclectic Herb and The Herbalist's Path


With a background in wilderness therapy and a lifelong connection to the wild world, Mel brings warmth, curiosity, and grounded teaching to every conversation. 


She's passionate about making herbal medicine accessible, safe, and effective for families and communities, and believes that the plants themselves are our greatest teachers. 


Mel loves exploring the magic and science of herbalism, sharing stories of how plants show up exactly when we need them, and helping people build their own confident relationships with the green world around them.

Dr. Les Moore ND, MSOM, MA, D.Min, RH, DHANP, LAc.

Dr. Les Moore is a naturopathic physician, classical Chinese medicine practitioner, and multi-generation herbalist who learned his first plants from his father in the Southern Appalachian tradition. He served for twelve years as Director of Integrative Medicine at Clifton Springs Hospital in New York, where he built one of the most comprehensive natural pharmacies ever housed inside a conventional hospital. He currently directs the Center for Special Medicine in Pittsford, New York, where he treats complex chronic disease using naturopathic medicine, classical Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, homeopathy, European botanical medicine, and western herbalism. He is the author of Classical Formulas in the Western Herbal Tradition and several other books. A Registered Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild, Dr. Moore has spent a lifetime bridging ancient plant wisdom with clinical practice, and serving his community with both.

Dr. Orna Izakson, ND, RH(AHG)

Dr. Orna Izakson is a licensed naturopathic physician, registered herbalist, and former environmental journalist practicing in Oregon and Alaska. Her understanding of ecosystems in nature informs how she approaches the human body in her clinical practice. 


Dr. Orna has advanced training in functional psychiatry and sleep medicine, including CBT-I for insomnia. She's passionate about making plant medicine accessible and can often be found photographing wildflowers along the trail. Find her on Instagram at @dr.orna and @gardenmedicine.

Robert Dale Rogers, RH (AHG)

Robert Dale Rogers is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild and the author of over 65 books on the medicinal plants of Western Canada. With a degree in botany and more than 40 years teaching plant medicine, Robert spent 18 years as a clinical herbalist before transitioning to consulting work with growers, boards, and industries creating herbal formulas. 


He is an avid student of indigenous plants, mushrooms, lichens, ferns, and mosses, and has dedicated much of his life to bringing these overlooked medicines into wider awareness. Robert and his wife Laurie are the owners of Self Heal Distributing and Scents of Wonder essential oils, and together they co-direct the Earth Spirit Medicine Program at Northern Star College.
