This one feels different… because it is.

For our season finale, we sat down and really talked about what this journey has meant to us—what we’ve learned, how we’ve grown, and all the moments we didn’t see coming. What started as an idea turned into something so much bigger than we ever expected.

This episode turned into a space where we laughed, reflected, and really took in the impact of every story, every conversation, and every person who trusted us with their truth.

We’ve laughed, we’ve healed, we’ve learned… and somewhere along the way, this became more than just a podcast.

Thank you for being part of this first season, for holding space with us, and for growing alongside us.

This might be the finale… but it’s far from the end. 🤎

SPEAKER_01

Hey guys.

SPEAKER_00

Hey.

SPEAKER_01

Guys, it's our final season. Our season finale. Finale. Oh, man. Are you excited? Yes.

SPEAKER_03

It's been fun.

SPEAKER_00

I'll be honest, I didn't know we were doing seasons like that, but I think it's a good idea. Yeah, I mean. Life goes on. Life gets crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I know we ooh has a lot going on this summer. We both have seniors. I do. So it's like, let's get them taken care of and then we'll start back off.

SPEAKER_00

Keep them wanting more.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. I don't even think we fully understood what this um podcast would become when we started, but here we are.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think so. Like, I think it was uh I know we talked about it for a long time. I'm sure everyone's heard this throughout the season. That we talked about this at get togethers and at cookouts, and like, man, we should really do this. And then here we are.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, almost like we're gonna do it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, hold on. Are you is it we're really gonna do this? I wasn't ready. I was just kidding, y'all. I was just like, I would be like Yeah, I'm drunk. Yeah, let's go.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Let's dead. It's like getting 100 tacos at Jack in the Box in the middle of the night after you drink, you're just gonna do it. So did y'all, did y'all, did y'all uh well Vettel, what you kind of just mentioned that did did did what about you? You said did you kind of know what you were getting yourself into doing the podcast?

SPEAKER_01

No, like I said, it was that one night, and I was just like, Buck it, let's do this. And I was just like, well, let me see if we're on board now because we keep talking about it.

SPEAKER_00

We are, we are. We it was it was good. I was happy uh when you said when someone finally just stepped up and just did it. Yeah, yeah. Uh sometimes it just takes someone to take that first step. Yeah. Um I I kind of knew what to expect doing it kind of a little bit because I had some a little experience. If you guys want to see some old sports clips, it's the screen. Oh, I know that was really good for the podcast. Uh and that I kind of missed that. So, you know, doing this is it's definitely different though, because I'm not talking about sports. I'm not talking, I'm not looking up stats.

SPEAKER_01

You're talking about feelings. I know.

SPEAKER_00

It's definitely so I have some experience, but not not like talking like just everyday things. Like it's easy to look up stats and full time with numbers and sports takes, but this is like it's like we gotta think about what you're gonna talk about.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, that's true. Yeah, I didn't I was just surprised when Isaiah was like, Yeah, I did it, guys. It's kind of like when they that meme when the friends, you know, like go out, so we finally did it. We got out of the group. Oh, yeah, the whatever chat. Yeah, yeah. So that's what it felt like when she sent out that first episode. I was like, Okay, I guess we're gonna be doing this.

SPEAKER_00

Did y'all think we would do more than two three?

SPEAKER_01

No, I had a lot of imposter syndrome, and then I was like, Okay, it is what it is, it's gonna be out there. But then when I started getting the feedback about how it was needed, and then like just that people enjoyed just listening to us, I was like, Do you like listening to us? Yeah, really?

SPEAKER_00

Out in Germany and Hawaii, yes, all over the world, Brazil, yeah, yeah. Thank you for those that traveled and listened. Yes, thank you. A big shout out.

SPEAKER_01

You get those businesses, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You get those listens from out of out of the way.

SPEAKER_01

And she's uh told all her other friends, so that's why it's like they're all my sister's in the military, so she listens out there in Japan and just told her friends. So we get a lot of listens like all over the world. Technically, that's awesome. Thank you for your service.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes. But do you think we're gonna do more than a couple episodes? Or do you think it's yeah?

SPEAKER_03

I didn't really know what to think. I'm like, okay, look, if he says gonna keep this going, then we're just gonna keep it going, you know? So I mean, she's really the head of it. So if she says we're gonna do another episode, we're gonna do another episode.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, that's me. Ask my siblings. We went to Mexico one time and I was my brother, my little brother, and then he's like, you're always bossing me around. I'm an adult now.

SPEAKER_00

She still do that forever. Like, it's your it's my role.

SPEAKER_01

It's just in me.

SPEAKER_00

That yeah, it I'll be honest, like, I I I kind of knew we would do quite a few. I, for one, love talking. I I won't shut up. No. Right? I think well, I think there's questions in there. But I uh to me, I missed it. Yeah, uh one of our other friends uh ate off what I did with the with the when I did the podcast with them. He even asked me, he's like, Hey, I heard it. I was like, Did you miss it? Like I had the text and he was like, bro, you don't understand how much I miss just talking to people. Like, yeah, they need to hear something. Like, I don't care what we talk about. You can you can get me on here talking about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'll let's talk about it. Like, I'll debate someone just to debate, just to talk. I love talking. Uh yeah, so it was good. I I I didn't know how many we were gonna do, I didn't know how long we're gonna go uh before we, you know, uh did a season or so, but now I'm like, man, I can't wait.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and then hopefully, hopefully, hopefully next year it'll be on YouTube video. Oh wow. I wanna I wanna make it big. Yeah, I gotta actually do my hair. Right, right. I actually got a match.

SPEAKER_00

I gotta put on clothes in the so uh what do you think the most cafecito and chaos moments have been? Uh one first little baby season that we've had.

SPEAKER_01

For me, it's messing up. Like, I'm always the one I tell them. I'm like, I'm always the one that like has to mess up. I have bloopers, and then we have to pause a little bit and continue. Everyone else just goes. But for me, it's like messing up.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe in the summer you put out the blooper reels. Yeah. Give them a little give them a little something to freaking for. You did you have any moments like that? Where you was like, oh man, this is crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I guess it was one episode that we were just talking and then we had to come back and record it again. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, what was that? That was the first one.

SPEAKER_03

That was the first one. Was it the first one? Yeah, the first one we were all together. We were just having a great conversation, and then it's like, oh, yeah, wasn't recording.

SPEAKER_00

What? That was the first one, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But the second one was just as yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think that was I think that was my moment too.

SPEAKER_01

Now I make sure I'm recording like throughout when we're talking. Okay, it is recording. I have my phone on airplane mode.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it it takes, you know, it takes practice.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And then the sound we got a little better. Yeah, I think we got a lot of feedback on the sound. Now they're saying, okay, it sounds better.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, there was a little technical difficulties with one of the wires, but we got that figured out thanks to Issa. Uh, but yeah, no, I think that was the that was the moment that was the funniest, I think, out of all the things. Like, if if we didn't say anything, no one would have known that we had to go back and re-record.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But it was hard to like, what did I say? Because it sounded really good. I gotta try to say that again. I know, right?

SPEAKER_03

You're like, damn. It's all good. So, um, what surprised you the most about doing the podcast?

SPEAKER_01

I think the feedback, like people saying, like, this is what's needed, and again, that imposter syndrome. I'm like, eh, it's just uh, you know, me doing or us doing this podcast, and it's everyone's like, you know, it's really good. Like feedback, getting like this really helped me change like what I want to do, like how I see things, how proud I should be of my culture. Yeah, that was like the most beautiful feedback. I was just like, wow, we did that, like we, you know, motivated people. So, like, again, the imposter syndrome was like, eh, it's you know, it's just fun. But then getting that feedback that people are actually like liking it and want more is is awesome.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I agree. Yeah, that's good.

SPEAKER_00

I yeah, it's it's definitely I I it's weird. I love to talk, but I hate to hear it myself. If that makes any sense, yeah, that makes perfect sense.

SPEAKER_03

Because I mean, I don't really talk much, but I really don't like to listen back to myself.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so like d but surprisingly, like once I tune into an episode when it comes out, even though I know if we were in it, we recorded it, we know what we said, or even like if we weren't on it, like listening to it, like I will leave it on until like if I'm driving to work or driving uh Maddie to school, uh, I'll have it on and then I pause it and nothing changes on my phone. So I get back in the car and then at lunch, we hear it again, and then until we finish it. So there's a lot of podcasts that I do listen to that takes me a long time or have to re-listen to it like three or four times. Surprisingly, this one is not every episode is one like you're glued. Like I'm glued to the like and I yeah, uh, why did I say that and this and that? But for the most part, like it's really good content. Like, I don't think I think that was a good premise that we had, and like it's I I'm glad everyone likes it. I mean, I don't know. I mean, I guess we're biased because I think I think it's a great show.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I enjoy it. I mean, I like that we um talk about our lives and you know how people can relate to us you're talking about.

SPEAKER_00

So um we're just everyday people, y'all.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, in our 40s, because you know don't say that. No, I'm just kidding. Um, what did you learn about each other um that you didn't know before?

SPEAKER_01

That we were sensitive. Like I got to see that sensitive side, and I'm like, oh he is a clinic.

SPEAKER_03

Come down.

SPEAKER_01

And I thought I was gonna be the one to cry.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, but you did cry, didn't you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like twice. Like every episode.

SPEAKER_00

Well, okay. Uh I guess surprisingly, we all knew that I was saying, but no, but it is like I I am, and I and I have no problem metting it. Like you men need to realize don't bottle your feelings up sometimes. You gotta just let it out. Yes, whatever you have. You don't have to cry. I mean, that's not your thing, though. But every once in a while, man, you put on a good song and you like let it out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, that's good. Yeah, because you know, you you don't see that with the it purifies the soul.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

The world is hard, y'all. No one's perfect.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You can't bottle stuff up.

SPEAKER_01

And Medal, she I saw her come out of your I saw you come out of your shell, like being goofy and saying, you know, the little one-liners. I was like, hmm, I didn't know. Metal had it in her. I'm trying, y'all.

SPEAKER_03

I'm trying. Hopefully, next season will be a little better.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, it's it was good. It was good. So whatever you're doing, just keep it up. I I will give a lot of kudos to you, Isa, for getting these guides out. Like, yes. I'm like, man, I can I would have never thought to ask this. Like, uh, it's and it it's good. Like it helps out. Like, I was surprisingly, like, man, for like not having experience in pocket, like putting a show together, it was really good. Like, that was kind of like a natural thing for you.

SPEAKER_01

It it you can ask Oscar, like I'll send him random questions, like, if you could describe me, like how would or like you know, if you could just use pictures, like what would describe me, like just shit like that always in randomly, and he's like, okay, and he just goes along with it. But I love to hear people's like deep thoughts. Like to me, I love that. Like, to me, I could do that all day long with like friends, and like, so what do you think I'm like this? What do you mean then? Yeah, it's something that I love.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I get a little nervous when I ask a question, and then like people get deep, and I'm like, oh dang. I didn't mean for you to get deep. I mean, you know, just you know, but I I enjoyed it, I really enjoyed doing this, and like I said, I hope that I get a little bit better the next season.

SPEAKER_00

And I think that's good though. I think I think you need to take that as a positive. Like, if people get deep that quick with you, we'll just I mean they feel comfortable when they're on with us. It's not like they don't have feel of pressure, like, what should I answer? Like, I better say that right then. They're just like, hey, we're just having a conversation, just like we would if we didn't have the mics on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true. Sorry guys, the dog barking. We're literally uh recording in my my kitchen. And we'll leave it in there.

SPEAKER_00

We'll leave it in there. It's all right, he can make an attorney. We love dogs, we love dog dogs. So yeah, that that was that was good, man. I I think I think everything everybody so far has been great. Like every guest has been on, has been one someone that we know, which is good, but even even if we don't know them as well, they just kind of opened up. They weren't scared to just get it.

SPEAKER_01

But even like yeah, we know them, but we don't know them like that. That was awesome. Like hearing like like Oscar open up like that with us, Gina opened up like that with me, you know, and Dina and Monica telling their story, like that healed a lot for me, like just hearing their story. It's just like wow, like it they it they just felt so comfortable enough to like open up with us, and I thought that was great.

SPEAKER_00

No pressure to the future guest, right?

SPEAKER_01

We wouldn't know everything.

SPEAKER_00

But it's I think it's awesome that they they felt comfortable enough to like, hey, I'm just gonna be me. I don't have to worry about what I'm gonna answer. They they they don't know what the questions were until well, some of them, I guess not not everybody knew what the questions were, but they didn't they just answered naturally, like that was that was good, and not like Priscilla and Josh who took notes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it's like the middle kids taking notes. I love it. And I learned a lot about Priscilla, like we're close, but just knowing her background and her. But just like knowing that side of I was like, wow, like that's so cool.

SPEAKER_00

Like, but no, all jokes aside, yeah, there's things that we talk about, like we talk about everything, but there's things that she, you know, she's not always gonna talk about with me. And then like it's a good perspective to put here on the outside, like not as a husband, but like as someone who's interviewing you. It was good to to learn some things. Uh surprisingly, we learned a lot about a lot of people that we knew that, like you said, we thought we knew, didn't we?

SPEAKER_01

We thought we knew, and yeah, and they were just felt comfortable enough to share it with the whole world, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the whole world, Japan, Germany, everybody, Hawaii. We're gonna keep we're gonna have to travel just to put plays on like babe. We have to go to Greece. I'm sorry, there's no views. There's no views. There's no no hits on in the Greece.

SPEAKER_01

Speaking of learning, we also exposed ourselves a lot on this podcast. So I had a few questions to, you know, see. We'll just kind of expose ourselves right now too with one another. So who is the most unprepared when we record? You need to finish the question.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Who does that ask for?

SPEAKER_01

I don't think it's I think we're all oh believe me, um, I'm always like, uh uh uh.

SPEAKER_00

I I think I think I purposely didn't prepare, like I know, like you know, Josh and Priscilla very detailed and taken.

SPEAKER_03

But that's the Virgo and friend.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's that's she had to. She's like I just don't want to make sure I was saying what I had to say, but even even though she was being truthful, she's like, she still opened up a lot, even like, oh, I wasn't in my answers, and I wasn't I didn't think of it. And Josh too was like, oh, I didn't think about that. So they would still open up. Yeah, but like, yeah, I I I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

So who talks the most? No say I don't know. Oogle.

SPEAKER_00

My mom said I was talking before I was walking.

SPEAKER_01

So oh, this one's another good one. Who goes off the topic in the fastest?

SPEAKER_00

Is that me again? Damn it. I told you we could talk about peanut butter sandwiches and how to construct one perfectly. No, it's it's me. I'm sorry. I like to talk a lot.

SPEAKER_03

But it's good though.

SPEAKER_01

But it's good. Yeah, yeah, you keep us going when we're kind of like. I like talking.

SPEAKER_03

Because you know, it's like a different perspective of the question that was asked, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely. And then here, uh, what's the funniest thing that never made it on to the episode? Hmm, I don't know. I thought I record everything basically.

SPEAKER_02

Not recording.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the not recording are me coughing up, swallowing in the wrong, you know, the wrong thing.

SPEAKER_03

Almost choked. Yeah, she was always choking with her own to laugh. But you know, that happens when you you get into your 40s, you just yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I must have been busy talking because I don't remember that. You're good. See, you would have been it that I would have never known.

SPEAKER_01

Um, and I don't think we've ever had to this one that says, How many times have we said let's stay on track? I don't think we have. I think we just let Google go on his tangents. Yeah, then we'll we'll circle back.

SPEAKER_00

Then circle back. Let's circle back. Circle back, circle back, let's circle back, y'all. You know what? That's fine. That's fine. I think that I think that would bright. We just encircled. We gotta keep like we gotta hit all kinds of different demographics that we can talk about all kinds of stuff and get off topic just a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I told you it's hard. It's a lot harder than the sports one. The sports one is like you're talking about sports, and that's it. Yeah, but let's go back, let's go back to this, let's go back to I like, oh yeah, we're talking about this, and we got into another story about something else. Here I am again, and we're just like, mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, okay, anyways. Next question. Okay, uh, but it wasn't all chaos. There were some real moments too. Did this post podcast push you out of your comfort zone and how?

SPEAKER_01

I think so. I think it it I think asking people to be, like it, I don't like asking people for anything. So just asking like friends and family, do you want to be on? Or can you share my podcast? Things like that. And so it really pushed me out of my comfort zone too with the social media, like trying to do the videos and the editing and stuff like that. So I love that it did that because now I'm like, oh, okay, this is fun. And you can ask Josh, I'll sit there for hours just trying to edit editing our podcasts and stuff like that. So again, like again, uh again, me not thinking I can do it, and then when I do do it, I was like, oh okay, I can't I can't when I do do it.

unknown

Sorry.

SPEAKER_01

English is not my best. How about y'all?

SPEAKER_03

Me, I guess it was just uh actually, you know, speaking and expressing myself and you know talking. Talking. Yes. You know, more of the um behind the shadows type of person. But I mean it was it was at first it was a little uncomfortable, but then you start, you know, opening up and talking more and you know, Google asking the random questions, and you're like, yeah, you know, it kind of uh it kind of makes me talk a little bit more. So um I think that would be it for me, just you know, talking about it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I I mean I'm kind of a pretty much open book and letting people hear some stuff that I normally don't share. Uh yeah, it was comfort the comfort zone also is like listening. Like I said, I don't like hearing myself. Like I can talk all day, but having to go back and listen to it, like I don't want to hear it, but I gotta get the views up. So but it that was a little uncomfortable, but also like okay, like you need to hear what you say too. Like it also helps you remember, like, oh yeah, I I need to work on that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it makes grow but yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Grow notes for sure. Uh what's one thing you're actually proud of this season? That we got through the whole season. The whole season. Yeah. Yeah. Like I g I mean, I give a lot of kudos to uh you know Isabel because I mean first of all, she got this together, then doing all the like she was saying, editing of the videos. I mean, they're really good. Yeah, you know, it's really good. Yeah. So getting the you know, people to come and talk to, you know, on the podcast too. So I mean it takes a lot of work. Yeah, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I love it though. It doesn't seem like work to me at all, because I'm just like in the middle of the night, I'm like, oh, this would be a good podcast, uh, you know, subject or whatever, and just like throwing it around, like, hey, how would you feel about if you talked about this?

SPEAKER_00

And you know, so no, that was it was it was a good season, like, yeah, kudos to everyone, like just just doing it, like just finally doing it and you pushing us to do it if we finally do it, like that was needed. Because we talked about it so many times, like for a long time, I was like, Oh, we should do that, we should do that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We sound like a broken record, I'm sure to everybody else, and yeah, now what?

SPEAKER_03

It's out, it's out, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Now you can't say nothing.

SPEAKER_03

Uh when did it hit you like okay, this might actually be something?

SPEAKER_00

When you was in this text, like, hey, look at this feedback that I got, I was like, oh, people are actually listening. Like, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think it was a text message you sent us, what, like a week ago, about um the instructor.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the instructor wanted to reach out because then it like kind of motivated her, like, to stay to you know, close to her roots. And I know when she told me that was like trying not to cry. Well, other people what happened? Um, so someone I work with um had shared our podcast with an instructor of hers. And uh she's like, Yeah, she really liked it, and so it really motivated her, like, because she's in an all-white studio, it really motivated her to stay close to her roots, and so she played like a playlist all in Spanish. And so she's like, You're you're motivating people like to stay close to your roots and like you know, be proud of who they are. And I was just like, We did that. So I had a message, Google and Biddle. I was like, This is the feedback I got, like, and it's in those moments. Moments that I feel like, uh, you know, we're doing it. And then I'm like, oh my God, people really like love it. And I was like, tell her to reach out. We're gonna do a wellness and fitness one.

SPEAKER_00

I'll be out fake that day. No, that's good though. It's good to get that feedback because you really don't know who's listening. And and if like even if no one listened and we just did it, I'd we I would still love to do it. Like, yeah, yeah. But knowing that people actually are paying attention and it's helped like that's just one example. Like, we don't even know who else it might have helped or who in the future might help. And so if it helps this one person out, like in any positive way, it's it's it's a it's a thousand percent win.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like Gina's episode, like I had feedback where man, she just really explained therapy really well. Yeah, she's like, I wish she was my therapist, because but just like how she explained it and how like she just don't feel guilty about it, yeah, and just brought it down to earth. Like she goes, I'm a therapist, but I need therapy. You know what I mean? Like she just made it seem like so easy, like accessible.

SPEAKER_00

It's not foreign anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that was another another good one. And everybody like George and Ariana, like their tips and tricks are for the you know, for real tea, and just a lot of Oscar. He's doing it in the the art world in Dallas. Um, it motivated him to like I got his voice known, I haven't shared it with y'all. But he said this um his episode kind of motivated him to get back, like and do like focus on his art and stuff like that. So I was just like, oh yeah, good.

SPEAKER_00

It didn't make any difference.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_00

One minute at a time. Okay, so let's talk about our favorite things. I mean, I I think being our little baby, yeah, it everything was a favorite. But was there who was your favorite guest or conversation and why?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I can't.

SPEAKER_00

I know it's hard to pick. You can't tell me who loved the most the most. It's easy for me. My favorite guest was my wife. Josh is looking at me like Josh is like, Josh looked at me like, don't get in trouble, boo. Nah, but it really was. I did learn, I learned some things about like how she her thought process and like realizing like and she actually talked to me like don't like just let me answer, like, don't I was like, I'm gonna treat you like a guest. You're not my life when we're talking, and so it was it was good, but yeah, she's definitely my favorite.

SPEAKER_03

Um I mean, obviously, my husband, right? That was fun, you know. Yeah, that was cute. That was we had a good time, he really enjoyed it. But I also thought natural too. Yeah, like to have him more often. Yeah, surprise guests. Um, my aunt and Monica, that was really good. So good. Yeah, yeah, it was it was emotional. Yes. I mean, even though I knew like their story, they gave a little bit more detail, and I was like, Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

That was a deep that was a deep episode.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I had someone reach out to me after that episode saying, You got me crying in the car with this episode, like it just really hit home, and I'm like, oh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I love the fact that they were just real open about it and you know, wanted to share.

SPEAKER_01

So beautiful love story, too. I'm gonna be a politician and say everybody was my favorite.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean it really was.

SPEAKER_01

Every episode was great, everybody had just something different that I took out of it that it was just nice.

SPEAKER_00

It was, and you know, that that was a good balance of like different things throughout the entire entirety of the episode. It wasn't just repetitive, like we're on one thing and one thing only. Yeah, background, but it's it was a variety, it was good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I mean, as far as conversation for me, I really enjoyed our first one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, me too.

SPEAKER_03

I really uh that one I really liked, you know. I I I I just enjoyed the topic. Yeah. Because you don't get to talk about that, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, yeah, and just have those conversations like this one, that one, and Michael Madras episode, just like having your best girls there and just like like you know, really getting to know them even more, even though you think you know them, like y'all too. Like I thought I knew y'all, but then like just knowing y'all deeper, I was like, Oh, they're like my besties now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think that first one was what we did was good. Like that was probably one of my favorite because we talked that's stuff that we talk about, just yeah, like we're when we're drunk around the pole. Yeah, yeah. And then now like to actually put it out there is like this is our story, y'all. Like, this is where it started. This is how that was that was probably one of my other favorites.

SPEAKER_01

What was your family's reactions to to that one? Well, not to any of it.

SPEAKER_03

Like to like well, they honestly they listened to the first one and they really liked that one. They were yeah, you know, very encouraging. They're like, Yeah, it's true, you know. You I mean, being the firstborn, yeah, you guys know. Yeah. So I mean, yeah, and stepping up to the play after my mom passed. So I mean, they really enjoyed that one. Um, my we'll see, and then I said it again. Um, my son was like, Can you just stop saying um? Like it's it's hard, you know, it's easier said than done. Yes, you know, but um just taking something.

SPEAKER_00

Um Priscilla's working on that too. Like it was not like in a back, like it's a it's a thing we do, it's a filler, it's yeah, it's it's a whole thing, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But um, yeah, they I mean they really enjoyed it. They like it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, my sisters were my biggest cheerleaders. I would send them um when I sent them to y'all, I would send it to them just because they're my biggest critics. Um, but they were like, oh my god, this one is so good, I loved it, and da da da and so we weren't the only ones that were VIP again. But they would like really motivate me like to keep going, and they're always like, When you're rich, can you buy me this? And I'm like, girl, calm down.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, who knows? Was there anything that people didn't see that you would wish to they could share or see like behind the scenes?

SPEAKER_01

I think our facial expressions, like I talk a lot with my hands and just like just see our dynamic in person. I think we're very animated. Yes, we are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I'm like those snippets of the videos don't give a true like description of how we were interacting.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_00

I need people to see what it takes to put this together, like they don't understand. It's not just like like for us, the mics are here and we get my son, my son's a little engineer, so we we gotta give him props.

SPEAKER_01

He sets it up for us.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I'm looking at I'm looking at the setup now because I wouldn't have never thought of like, oh, hook it up to this and like the way we're doing it, like, oh yeah, it works. Like, it's awesome, it's amazing. Like how little can go for so much.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, and then Josh is taking pictures.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, and Josh is our videographer, yeah, photographer. Begin to angle fucking pros.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, don't don't give them a big head because then they're gonna want me to pay them, okay?

SPEAKER_00

It's in the contract, it's free for now.

SPEAKER_01

And so, and somehow people were actually listening to all of this. Um, did you expect people to support you the way they did or support us the way they did?

SPEAKER_00

I expected the people that are close to us for sure. Yeah. Uh, but I think it reached a further audience than than I was expecting.

SPEAKER_01

Surprisingly, yes. And it's, you know, they and they always say that in business, that you always expect your closest friends to hype you up the most. And it's really been like people outside of the circle that have been like hyping us up. Like when we went to see Snow the Product. Oh, yeah. Me and Beta went to see Snow the Product, and um, we met two two amazing girls, and I don't want to say their name because I don't know if they want us to, but shout out to y'all, y'all know who you are, and they were just amazing at the concert, and then you know, they we came back, they're like, Yeah, we're gonna listen because I was like, you know, we're podcasters, and so they gave us a shout-out, and they're always sharing too. So like, and they're from Oklahoma, so it's just amazing, and it's just so cool, like that. We met them and they're just like, Yeah, you know, easy promoting, promoting, whatever. Right.

SPEAKER_03

I need to do that, I need to be more better about that.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, it it was it was it was amazing. Like that was I'm I'm sorry I missed out on that one. Yeah, no, he didn't go on that field trip. They were like, Oh my god, he should have been there.

SPEAKER_01

Like, well, we'll put another field trip. We'll let you. I would have and then we could be like, Oh, he's part of our podcast.

SPEAKER_00

He does work.

SPEAKER_01

And then, Ugo, you've said this. Have you re-listened to an episode and cringed? Yes, and which and which one was it?

SPEAKER_00

Every single one, every one that I'm on.

SPEAKER_03

And you're like, oh man, you know, did you really send that?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's because also like my wife is also my biggest critic. Yeah, uh, but I asked her to, so she like being a Virgo gives me a lot of detailed notes about this and this and that. I'm like, okay, I'll try. So it was, but it's it's it's a learning. Yeah, like it's learning. Like, I'm sure it will get better the next season. Just continue to get better and better.

SPEAKER_01

Well, as I'm editing, I'm like, crap, I can't edit that out. So, yeah, I have cringe romance.

SPEAKER_03

It's okay.

SPEAKER_00

It happens, yeah. It happens.

SPEAKER_03

We're human. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So uh I think Isabel, touch on a little bit um for our listeners. But what's what's in store next season?

SPEAKER_01

Next season. Um I definitely want to try to do video. YouTube, get us on video. And I'm gonna be reaching out to everybody this summer to see who wants to record because I have a bunch, a bunch, a bunch of ideas in my head.

SPEAKER_00

Um damn it, we're gonna have a schedule with you. I need you on this thing, this thing, this thing.

unknown

See how far.

SPEAKER_00

I got our schedule. We gotta schedule guys. I got these two schedule guys out that week.

unknown

I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

No, but yeah, I'm excited, and just the more I do this, the more ideas I you know could pop in my head. I'm like, or I'm scrolling on Instagram, like, ooh, I need to reach out to them. I think they'd be a good guest. Just like local DFW people. Also, if you want to be on, hit me up, give me an idea. Like, we're welcome to it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, for sure. I think that'd be video is cool. Yeah. It's a good idea. I love it. People can actually see who's talking. I think they'll engage. Um, but yeah, I think we're on a good track. Like finding guests that are like just hitting all over the place. Like it's not we're not just closed into our little bubble.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, that's true.

SPEAKER_00

So we hopefully we see a lot more variety and oh yeah, definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Like that's one thing I did want it to grow because I know this season we based it on like Latino and Latinos and stuff like that. But I really want to like bring unity too, because like all our other friends that are you know from other cultures, like their culture's beautiful too, and I kind of want to for us to share stories with them too, so they so we can see like we're a lot alike. Yeah, we're a lot alike, and so that's what I also want to bring next season too, is just more diverse, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like Torre's episode was good. Yeah, we brought in a little mix of that, so that'd be good to show people how truly we're all kind of the same.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we are.

SPEAKER_00

What do we want more of? Oh Isabel's gonna be like consistency with the same. It's hard, it's hard. I will give Isabel credit for working with our schedules because there's so much going on and like we're all crazy busy.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, but having the time to But we found time, everybody found time, and that's and you know, that's what works. That's why I was like, yeah, we'll record twice a month, or you know, twice a month once a week, it's not gonna work for us right now.

SPEAKER_00

I'm watching July by 4th of July, we're gonna have a schedule out. Like put your calendar calendar right now.

SPEAKER_01

I need it all.

SPEAKER_00

These are the Fridays or the Saturdays or Sundays that we're gonna do it, be available.

SPEAKER_03

We're gonna have a snack rotation like we do like.

unknown

The liquor.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know, we might get more interesting episodes and start off a pre-game. I think we did pretty good though. I think it was a good mix.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was. I definitely think so too. I think it's gonna be a good season, and I'm excited for it just to have more exposure.

SPEAKER_00

All right, yeah. So this one, let's see. Let's let's give a real answer here, okay? Are we gonna be more organized next season? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, we will. We will. I think I think too this was rushed too, because we're like, we're on it, we're on the like, let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go. Like it wasn't like pre-planned and everything, you know what I mean? So I think, yeah, we'll definitely be more organized.

SPEAKER_00

I think now that we know, like it's hey, it's not we're just not doing that. People are actually listening and they're like, hey, it's it's been two weeks, what's my episode? Like they're wanting it.

SPEAKER_01

So I know I've had messages like when's the next episode gonna. I'm like, uh, we're we're working on it.

SPEAKER_00

I think for the people we can be a little more organized. We'll have to figure something out. But yeah, I think I know for me, mine going out to school give me a little bit of nothing to do. So I'll be available probably like.

SPEAKER_01

They'll be travel, they'll be traveling.

SPEAKER_00

We can hey, you know what? We'll just I'll phone it in. We'll just I know from the road. I'm gonna give you my Zoom calls.

SPEAKER_01

Well, let's I know this is this is like I'm excited, this is like our first season down, and so if you had to describe this season in one word, what would it be?

SPEAKER_00

I can choose so many. Yeah. Just one word?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, one word.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I would say chaos, but a controlled chaos, which is kind of what the it's about. Like it's look, we're just real people living real lives, just getting on here talking when we have a chance to, so that people can relate. Like I don't I don't think it's a bad thing to be chaotic sometimes. I think it's a positive, like it's a controlled chaos.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a controlled chaos.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but yeah, it was very much like I think this, I think that's not like thinking that the first episode it just flew by. Like I didn't realize, like, oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

I know I was like, dang, we've done like 11, right? 11? That's gonna be number 11.

SPEAKER_00

You're the director. Yeah, I know. It is, but but it is like it flew, like I didn't you didn't realize, like, oh man, we did a lot of episodes. Like, if you were to go back, it's a half a day worth of like audio that you can listen to if you're traveling somewhere.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so listen to it.

SPEAKER_00

Please, and listen to it again, and listen to it again, and even if you're like playing in the background when you're cleaning, share it. Or when you go travel, for real, you know, help us grow. Like, yes, we don't have any sponsorships yet. Yeah, um, we'll get there. We'll get there. Somebody somebody will give us some light.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I would I would say real. You know, it was it was real, real, like real emotions, yes, real conversations. So I would I would definitely describe it as real.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I was gonna use the word authentic, like yeah, I think even the guests were really authentic, like they're just it was real and raw, and I love it. I love that people feel comfortable enough to to be like that with us, and you know, and it's funny because it's like they're like that with us, not realizing oh, like there's other people gonna be listening to because like when we're here, it's just like it feels like it's just our little yeah, it's just us listening, and then we're like, oh, this is gonna be out for everyone to listen to.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, real's a good real is a good one, and authentic is a good one because it was very much like shout out to every guest that was on. Yes. Uh it's not easy to put your story out there, but helping us along the way with your story is is truly amazing. I just want to thank every single one of them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and then I asked everyone, you know, send me an audio of like what how your your time was here on the podcast. And everyone was like real quick to send me their their voice clip. So I was like, oh, that's awesome, you know, that they really enjoyed it and just the listening to their audios has been really nice. Um, so what do y'all want to say to everyone who listened, supported, shared, and believed in us?

SPEAKER_03

I just want to say thank you. Thank you for giving us your time. Time is precious, but you know, just taking that time to listen to us, I really appreciate that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I would say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Like it was truly blessed to have you on. Um like we've just been saying the whole episode, it's not easy to come in and tell your story and be vulnerable like that, especially in the times that we're in right now where everyone's just all over the place. But I mean, just having to sit down and realize let's reel it back. Let's get back to like just regular human nature um and just sharing stories helps somebody out. Like it's gonna help somebody. I I want every guest to know that whatever whatever you said on the show is gonna help someone at some point somehow. It might have helped you out, some even you like so uh yeah, it was it was amazing. I loved this whole season.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, me too. And then I was scrolling on TikTok and just the thing's still happening in our community, and I'm just like this is just like a light for me, you know what I mean? Like just watching how our people are being torn down right now, and it's still happening, and it's just uh I want people to feel that that it's like a light, you know, that there is hope, and that you know, we're better together. And uh this season reminded us, uh reminded me of how proud we should be of our roots and our culture and who we are as a person. Um, and just I want to thank everyone who supported us, like every little share, like even the feedback you give us, and you know, the the commentary on um the Apple podcast, like you know, the ratings as well. There's a lot of people that rated us five. So we don't we have all five skies. I think it was 18. 18 out of 18, we're five.

SPEAKER_00

So perfect score. If I see one that's not, I'm gonna find out anybody and go change their mind.

SPEAKER_01

And so, like all throughout the season, I would send Oogle and Vidal, like, oh, we got 100 listeners. We got 200 listeners. I think now we're up to like 1300.

SPEAKER_02

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

So it's it's been awesome, but we need at least a thousand per episode. People come on so people can see us and know who we are.

SPEAKER_00

Not getting listened.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, just thank you for all the love, and just I'm just I don't know what to say. Like, I'm really emotional about it because it's something that we've always wanted to do, and we did it, and we did a good job. We did a really good job with this, and I'm just super excited what the future holds. Um, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there's a lot going on, and we could have got a lot deeper. Yeah, I think I think we did good just getting it out there for now. But next y'all better be careful, y'all better behave because we'll come getting up. Next season it's odd. It's odd. I was scared that for that episode, like, oh now we're getting kind of deep quick, but it was needed, and now it's not gotten any better. So who knows what this break's gonna bring, what we have to talk about next one. But yeah, it's I imagine it'd be hitting some strong points now that we're comfortable getting it out there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So with that being said um said, what this season reminded us is to be proud of who we are, where we come from, and the stories we carry. Never shrink that and never hide that. I want to close this out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, absolutely. Before I start crying. The last time this season. Until then, keep your cafecito close.

SPEAKER_01

Your boundaries closer. And remember, surviving your childhood doesn't make you crazy, it makes you a legend.
