A short reflection meditation inspired by Ralph Waldo Emerson's quote: "Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string. Accept the place the divine providence has found for you."

I read a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson yesterday. But first a deep breath in. And out. Deeper this time. Breathe in. And a longer out. Ralph said, trust thyself. Every heart vibrates to that iron string. Except the place the divine providence has found for you. I bring my awareness to my heart. Good vibrations today. Trusting myself. I'm trusting on exactly where I'm supposed to be.

Emerson says, it's been found for me. I like the idea that today has been found. I remember playing hide and seek as a kid. Sneaking into a closet, hiding behind my parents' coats and peeking through the crack door. And let's be honest, I was hiding, but I really wanted to be found. I wonder what is hiding and waiting to be found today. And I trust myself to find it. My heart vibrates to that iron string. Deep breath in. Good vibrations because I'm not seeking external trust. I'm not looking for anyone to validate what I already know and feel. That self-reliance, that iron string, plays a guiding note that I can dance to. I tap my foot right now to the beat my heart is kicking. I will keep time with good vibrations today. Nothing rushed or forced. Just me dancing through the day, certain I'll find what's hiding. And I'm delighting in the weight. Deep breath in. Deep breath in. Today, when the fearful chatter shows up, I'll welcome it. My anxious thoughts, they come from a place of desire. And so I tap my foot to remember today's dance. Good vibrations. The kind Marky Mark sang about. They're inside me, pushing me toward hidden delights. What a gift!
