We ask a raw question about sobriety and addiction recovery: what single trigger makes you want to say “forget it” and use again. We land on stress as the biggest driver, talk through denial, and reflect on how “just one drink” can turn into a lost week even when you feel off.
• defining triggers and why they matter in relapse prevention
• stress as a common sobriety trigger and craving amplifier
• admitting there is a problem and how denial shows up
• the “just one” mindset and how quickly it escalates
• staying sober on days that feel strange or heavy

We can choose to give in to the KAOS, or we can forge a new path forward!

riday Greeting And Big Question

SPEAKER_00

Why hello, happy Friday.

hat Is Your Number One Trigger

SPEAKER_00

Today's question What is your number one trigger? What is the one thing that causes you to just be like, god damn, I just want to throw all my sobriety out the fucking window and say fuck it? Or what was your trigger when you were, you know, maybe you were, maybe you're still unfortunately gripped by the addiction. So what would be your trigger that really kind of no matter what, you would be like, fuck it, I'm doing it. I'm fucking reaching for that bottle, I'm reaching for the pipe, I'm reaching for whatever the fuck it is. What is it?

hy Stress Becomes The Trigger

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if I can narrow mine down to just one trigger. I guess my biggest one would be stupid fucking people. Like, just yeah, just life, the world. But also just anything that would kind of make me stressed. Stress. Stress. I guess I can narrow down my trigger to one word. Stress. But honestly, it's no joke.

enial And The First Step

SPEAKER_00

Like, for those of you who are, you know, struggling with addiction, or maybe you've been sober for a bit, it is fucking hard to just take that initial step. Um, for a long time I didn't want to admit that I had a problem. I didn't have a problem. Everybody else had a problem. Because why are they fucking bugging me about getting clean when I'm fine? I'm fine, it's just a little booze. But I guess they could see something that I could not see. So, triggers is today's theme. What was your trigger? What was something that just made you go, fuck it, I'm done with this fucking day, and just get fucked right up.

eeling Off While Staying Sober

SPEAKER_00

There was something very I don't know, just when you take that first drink after a shit day, right? And then you think, oh I'm just gonna have one. Just one. And then one week later, yeah. It's crazy. But we all have we all have our triggers, we all have our stressors, and yeah, I guess what mine was, like I said, is stress. But yeah, that's basically that's it. I'm having one of those days today where I just you ever feel like you just you feel off. You feel like I don't know, almost like a dream, and you're like, this, you know. I feel like that today. So sorry if this is not to the level I know that you all deserve. But yeah, I'm just uh feeling a little out of it today. Um But I'm sober, so I mean that's a good thing. But uh happy Friday, everyone, and I'll catch you next week.
