In this short episode, I sit with a simple but powerful question: what do you find beautiful about your life right now?
Sometimes we’re so focused on what’s next that we miss what already is. Today, I’m reflecting on learning to appreciate where I am in this moment
I'm your host, Sierra, and thank you for joining me here with Rooted Thoughts Podcast, where I basically share stories, draw wisdom, give you a few insights just about life things and how to make yourself better, first and foremost, and then how to also just make your life so much more fulfilled and better as well. On today's episode, which is actually more so of a check-in episode, I'm going to be just presenting to you a question that I saw online, and I just decided to answer this live on the podcast. But first and foremost, before I even get into that, I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to everybody who has been supporting me during this journey. I saw an email the other day, and I believe it said that I have reached a little bit over 250 downloads. And that's a lot for me because I'm like, oh my gosh, people are actually listening to this. So thank you again for every single person who's chosen to listen and just, you know, download, subscribe, or whatever it is. Your support does not go unnoticed, and I am so grateful for you, honestly. You are listening to Real Thoughts Podcast with your host, Tierra. Follow and leave me a review. Now, to get into this question that we're gonna be just kind of touching on today, I was online and I happened to see a question that stated, well, it asks, What do you find beautiful about your life right now? And so when I saw this question, I was actually just strolling. Wait, scrolling? I said strolling. I was not walking, y'all. I was scrolling, okay? So I was scrolling and I saw this question and I did stop. And I was like, okay, hmm, I want to answer that question because something about that question was just calling out to me at the time. So here I am. So what I find beautiful about my life right now, it's kind of simple, but it's just where I currently am and how my own resilience plus God got me here. And so when I kind of sit back and reflect, and I'm talking about reflect all the way back, so I'm starting even with childhood, whereas there was a lot going on in my environment to just the last, I would say, year and a half of making a decision to divorce, but then to also find out that I had a tumor while beginning that process, having multiple medical appointments, and then having surgery, recovering, and then jumping straight back into the divorce process and then completing that. And then when I think about where I am now and being in a place of just balance and peace in all areas of my life, I mean, of course, there are some things that I would like to improve on, like far as exercising and things like that. So I'm still working on getting me more of a routine when it comes to those matters. But everything else, far as just my relationship, um, physical health, mental health, home dynamics, things like that, this place that I'm in right now, it's like everything came suddenly, everything took place suddenly, and everything like that. I'm just so grateful for this moment. I'm so grateful for the journey that it took to get to this moment. And I find that beautiful. I find it beautiful that just to see my children flourish, to see them, you know, grow more into their personality, then adding bonus children, and then getting to witness their personality and their growth and everything like that. I found every single moment of it like just absolutely beautiful, honestly. And I really wouldn't have it no other way. So just to think about, you know, like I say that, you know, where you came from, then where you are at the moment, it's the small things that matter. I do think that there are times that people take so many small things for granted. People take having or being in good health for granted. They take just being able to get up every day for granted. So I am someone who I like to look at the small things to have a happy family, just to for me to be happy, to be able to explore and learn and just try new things and all those things. So that is what I find beautiful in this moment. And like I said in the beginning, that I was gonna keep this episode pretty short because I'm gonna do a little bit more deep diving next week, whereas I am gonna get into speaking on that journey of what it looks like to advocate for yourself, especially in the medical field and to trust your instincts and everything like that. But I just wanted to make sure that I did touch in with you guys just this week, especially because I seen that question and it just, I don't know, it called to me to answer that question. And then I also want to put the question out there to anyone else just to kind of take a moment in your life, like right now, and think about what is it that you find beautiful about your life right now. It doesn't have to be big or it could be big, it could be small, it doesn't matter what it is, it could be about work, um, your home life, your family, whatever it is, but just really think about what is it that you find beautiful in your life at this moment. And with that being said, I'm gonna leave you here, and I promise that I will be back next week with an all new episode where we are gonna be diving into advocating for yourself. I'm your host, Tiara, and this is Ruiz Talks Podcast.
