Hi everyone. Hello. Welcome to Sunday sweet, a Formula One podcast.
SPEAKER_03I'm Rachel.
SPEAKER_01I'm Lexi. We're here. We made it.
SPEAKER_03We are here. We made it. We've we've got a lot going on at the moment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we had an insane weekend. If you follow us on Instagram, you kind of saw that we got stuck, hijacked, kidnapped in an airplane for five hours.
SPEAKER_03It was a little crazy. So it is currently Monday, July 20th at 9.22 p.m. Central Time, and we are now just recording this podcast. And we are not in the same room for the first time. No, no. Ever.
SPEAKER_01We're just staring at each other through a computer, and both of us are like post-run, you know, post-Munday. Anyway, yeah, we could have been stuck in a worse place. We were stuck in New York. And it was supposed to be just a quick little in-and-out trip. Get stuck on this airplane forever.
SPEAKER_03We were on the tarmac for five hours. And at one point, they thought we were going to go back to the gate. And then they're like, never mind, we have a path and the weather's clearing up. Like, we're gonna take off. And then they were like, just kidding. And then they're like, we're gonna go design. Devastating, there's only two gates, we couldn't get to the gate. And so then it was five hours on the plane on the door back.
SPEAKER_01Both of us, with no water because the water because all the water fountains were broken, and we are runner girlies, like we need the water. I was dying. Ugh. And then we got addicted to sparkling coconut water. So the biggest outcome of the weekend is that now I need sparkling coconut water in my life. Shout out to Strangewater, please sponsor us. You're too expensive. I need you to sponsor us. It was so, so good.
SPEAKER_03So anyway, we were supposed to be in New York.
SPEAKER_01Huge shout out.
SPEAKER_03Huge shout out to Strangewater for carrying us through the weekend. We were supposed to be in New York for less than 24 hours and get home by like 3 p.m. on Saturday, and we didn't get home until like 5 30 p.m. on Sunday.
SPEAKER_01Because of only the flight flight cancel, then they delayed our flight. Sun Country, I have major beef with you. Major beef with Sun Country.
SPEAKER_03Anyway, I feel us telling this story is as chaotic as the weekend was. Like I don't even think we, yeah, there was flash flood warnings in New York City. We went for a concert on Friday night, and we keep telling our stories. Which was great. It was amazing. We made it to the Joe concert, it was phenomenal. Noah Khan was supposed to play on Saturday, and unfortunately, that concert got canceled 30 minutes before. So again, we're we were stuck in New York, but at least the concert that we went to on Friday did not get canceled.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. Exactly. It could have been a lot worse.
SPEAKER_03It could have been so much worse. So, and we were supposed to run 12 and 16 miles on Sunday. Didn't happen. Did not happen.
SPEAKER_01Rachel, Rachel ran a little bit. I did not. I got home and just had to do all the chores because I had to control something in my life. So I made I made zucchini brownies. I can't handle a dirty house.
SPEAKER_03I literally do not think I would have survived. I would have officially maybe had a mental breakdown if I didn't run yesterday. Yeah. But my house was also a mess, and so I'm I was just avoiding it. So I'm proud of you for prioritizing.
SPEAKER_01Susan, Susan made you do weeding, so there was that.
SPEAKER_03My parents luckily watched our dogs all weekend because my husband was out of town and I came back and they brought the dogs and they brought their tree trimming shears. And we're forces. They were forces of nature and so helpful. But my mom was like, you can't let your neighbors see your weeds like this. And I was like, okay, I will do that afterwards. I was like, I will pull weeds after my run in 99.
SPEAKER_01I need to go run, yeah. Um, okay, so yes, this is on Sunday's We Pod where we take chaotic trips and then watch the Grand Prix in the airport. Um didn't we watch quality? We watched quality on the plane. I just remembered that. Not on my phone that kept like not on the plane. Tripping out when we were stuck on the tarmac.
SPEAKER_03Oh, we did. We did watch it, but we did finish on the plane.
SPEAKER_01We blocked it, we blocked it out of our memory, but we did. We fully were like stuck and watching on my tiny little phone screen and had to act like normal people that didn't like actually care what happened. And then people were bitching about the World Cup. I'm sorry, I had a grand prix to watch. I was upset. We had things to do.
SPEAKER_03Um, no, so needless to say, thanks for your patience with us. We watched both qualifying and the race at the airport slash on a plane. So there, and there was a lot of chaos surrounding us. So we might have missed some things, but thank God for social media.
SPEAKER_01We've done we've done a lot of reflecting, so it's fine. Yeah. Okay. So we'll talk about F1 News, which is mostly honestly a lot about the race weekend, and then hot gas again, race weekend. Um, I don't think we have Monaco updates for once.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Literally, not a thing about Monaco. Not a thing about Monaco, and then we'll talk about uh the race, obviously, and then uh prepare for next weekend, which is our last race before our summer break. Yeah, which is really sad.
SPEAKER_03And I don't think we have, oh yeah, and then we have um Formula Run Club as well. Couldn't forget that, couldn't forget that. Um penalties for spa. So um, so so many penalties. What else is new? Um, so before the race, Lando had a penalty, um, 10 grid places. He had his fourth electronics control unit replaced. Lance, 10 place grid penalty. I forgot to look up exactly what his was.
SPEAKER_01Doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_03It doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_01Aston Martin's been so bad. They're apparently coming with like big upgrades to the race this weekend. And I guess we'll see if it makes a difference. Because it's crazy to me that they have a point in Cadillac doesn't, because Cadillac seems to be outqualifying them every single week.
SPEAKER_03They're really putting all their faith into one weekend worth of upgrades. So Godspeed. Godspeed. Um, speaking of Aston Martin Alonzo also, it's a 20 crazy grade, 20 place grid penalty. He had a new energy store unit, electronics control unit, power unit component. Um, but Isaac Hajar had a 30 place grid penalty. His I love this, his fifth turbo exhaust and ICE. Um, Carlos had a penalty as well, uh, his fourth electronics control unit, lots of electronics control units being replaced. Um, but we were wondering why Hajar was actually starting in P21 and Alonzo was in P22. Um and I guess it was because they had similar-ish penalties, and Hajar outqualified him, which is crazy that Hadjar did so much better than Alonzo.
SPEAKER_01Isaac had 30 plays, Alonzo had 20, and Isaac still outqualified him. I love this.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Isaac because I think he qualified in what P10?
SPEAKER_01I think well, no, it was P10 because he never set a time because he towed Max. Oh, that's right. So he didn't even really try. They were basically like he has such a big penalty that we're just gonna use him to tell Max, which is smart. And now I get why everyone because I was like, why is everyone like praising him for all this team nonsense? That's why.
SPEAKER_03Because he doesn't make sense, so that's why they were even playing field because Hadjar had 30, Alonso had 20, but Hajar finished in 10th. That all makes sense, so he qualified Alonso, yeah. Um, but yeah, and then I think we'll go over it, but Carlos, I think, was in then 19th. Um, again, we can go over this. We've got that all listed. Um, and then Ferrari was fined 30,000 euros post-race. Was it Ferrari or was it Lewis? It was Ferrari. It was Ferrari before Lewis's unsafe release. He almost ran into a mechanic. Mechanic. I which is obviously not his fault, it's Ferrari's because I think he had the green light. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And that's what he said. He was like, I had the green light. Is he okay? And sounded mortified as he should be.
SPEAKER_03Well, I think that's that's gotta be hard because like that's your instinct reaction, right? Like you're moving as fast as you can. And I I didn't know, did the guy like trip?
SPEAKER_01I I don't know. I didn't hear they were they seemed to be kind of quiet about it. Like I didn't see or hear anything specifically about what happened to him. But he's okay.
SPEAKER_03He see he he's okay, he's fine, he's okay. And again, that's why Ferrari was fine to not Lewis was because Ferrari had that green light up. Yeah. Oh, yeah, um, and we already talked about Isaac going from P21 to P6 because meh.
SPEAKER_01And I over towing Max. Yeah, and I'll probably even talk about it more because I just think it was such a good drive, and I felt like no one was talking about it. Like obviously Red Bull was, but that that was just such a good drive. Like he had such a good race.
SPEAKER_03If that was Max, I feel like everyone would have been that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying. Like Isaac is I know he's crazy, and anytime he talks in the radio, it literally literally sounds like he is so mad at the world and like having the worst time, but he did such a good job this weekend. So I'm he he really crushed.
SPEAKER_03He's been doing really well, especially in comparison to all of Max's previous teammates. Uh, I don't know if it's because the car is just absolutely not up to Max's standards, and so another driver can actually drive it.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, Isaac's like, yes, this is great, and Max is just like hating his life. But yeah, Isaac was a real one this weekend and he did amazing.
SPEAKER_03So if we were watching it, if we were watching it live, I would have voted Isaac driver of the day. We were like 30 minutes away.
SPEAKER_01I couldn't, I couldn't believe he didn't get driver. I like and and I watched the or I listened to red flags and they didn't even talk about it. And of course, oh really?
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_03I again a huge feat for Isaac. That's absolutely amazing and incredible. So great job. Yeah, okay. Um hot us, take it away.
SPEAKER_01Hot us. Um, okay, we were talking while we were at the concert of like who what is the hipster driver? Like, who are the hipsters in Queens and Brooklyn liking for F1 drivers?
SPEAKER_03I don't even know if people use the term hipsters anymore, but that's like all that I could use. Rachel, Rachel and I'm hot.
SPEAKER_01Rachel and I were just talking about how at work. We both we don't work at the same place, but we both separately have been talking about like generations in the workplace. And this feels so millennial, so millennial code of us. But like we had such a good time talking about it. I was like, oh my god, we had to talk about the pod. Anyway, who do you think?
SPEAKER_03Um, well, I know we were talking about this in like the context of like Joe or Joe Kiery, like who would be his favorite Formula One driver or team? And I think I still don't necessarily know, but I think you said Williams, like maybe an Alex Albon, and that made sense to me.
SPEAKER_01And this could totally be an American point of view, because to me, Williams is like the hipster team, like they're like the OGs, they're like the Levi of Formula One, they're the OGs, they fit nice, but they're not the nicest, you know? Like they're not doing well this year, but they have before, and you like them. So to me, Williams is like the you know, the hipster.
SPEAKER_03Well, I feel like they might like like an underdog type of situation, and maybe they appreciate a good um merch item or collab, and I feel like Williams has done some good ones. Another like merch collab that I feel like was strong was Alpine had that palace Alpine merch collection last year two years ago. Oh, I just had a sick jacket.
SPEAKER_01So then I was like, well, maybe Alpine, but then I'm like, I don't know if anyone would latch on to of merch and underdog drivers, Pierre Gasly Drivers Club, yeah, other one after watching the because Rachel and I, after you know, our airplane ordeal did of course turn on Drive to Survive season one. Alonzo, Fernando Alonzo, he could be uh a hipster F1.
SPEAKER_03Oh, like maybe people would appreciate the old schoolness of Fernando, so then maybe they would also appreciate Lewis and his like legacy.
SPEAKER_01I feel like Lewis is too mainstream to be a hipster.
SPEAKER_03Well, now that he's dating Kim Kardashian 100%.
SPEAKER_01Then he's like uh however many times, seven time World Drivers champion.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yes. And I know we talked about Arvid, he's kind of like again underdog, like up and comer. He's kind of he's cool without like trying too hard, it seems. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um I feel like he's younger generation, so maybe they would appreciate his like outspokenness, you know. Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01He's got the cray he's got the crayon helmet, you know, he's he's doing great.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but I would say probably then like no Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, or Red Bull, I feel like all those teams would be would be out.
SPEAKER_01The hipsters wouldn't like Aston Martin because it's too Nepo baby.
SPEAKER_03I mean, let's be real, they probably just like wouldn't like Formula One, but this is this is where the conversation went to the world.
SPEAKER_01There are there are competitive hipsters, i.e. running hipster hobby. You're right.
SPEAKER_03And I feel like like soccer. I feel like they, you know, I feel like that type of food bowl and fun. Well, speaking of Arvid, the photo of Liam and Arvid riding an economy on the way home from spa. What was the airline that they what was the hashtag again?
SPEAKER_01Oh, it was something like travel economy. It's it's a European like regional airline that like we've obviously not it's not Ryanair, but it was like something. What was funny is both of us separately put in Instagram and in the dock without seeing it. Um, what would our tarmac adventure have been like if they if an F1 driver had just been stuck on a plane with us? Which I love.
SPEAKER_03Well, they would just the girl that was next to them was like totally oblivious looking.
SPEAKER_01And I just would have died. I think I think we've both Easy Jet. Easy Jet! Yes, perfect, they were on easy jet.
SPEAKER_03Like, I don't even know. One of my coworkers and I were talking today about like, what if you saw someone that you really admired or respected or someone famous, like out in the wild? Like, what would you do in that situation? And it's like you'd want to approach them, but you wouldn't want to bother them. At least me. Like, I wouldn't want to approach them, but I wouldn't want to bother them, but I'd want to tell them, like, hey, like F1 like means so much.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'd be like, I would be like, Hey, I'm a big fan. Like, we have to get an autograph here, like, whatever you need to do.
SPEAKER_03And Liam, you need a new logo.
SPEAKER_01And Liam, your logo is so bad. Please change it. I will give him, I have many graphic designer friends. Like, I will give him all the contacts. So funny. So funny.
SPEAKER_03Um, but you better believe if they were on that five-hour tarmac with us, we would have would have been trying to chat chatting it up.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, we would have immediately gotten out the mini mics and recorded something. We do our first interview stuck on a tarmac.
SPEAKER_03Incredible, groundbreaking.
SPEAKER_01On another note of Liam, he did he does and continues and did post more thirst traps.
SPEAKER_03At this point, I think that's just the new normal.
SPEAKER_01I just have to keep talking about it. It's just so funny to me.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's because like once it started, it was so obvious, and it just that man is single.
SPEAKER_01Someone, someone should date him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, someone should date Liam Lawson.
SPEAKER_01An American? Probably he seems to like the USA girlies.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Get after it.
SPEAKER_01Um, he he's growing on me.
SPEAKER_03Not that it matters. You don't need the approval to date to date Liam Lawson, but you you actually do.
SPEAKER_01You actually do. We need to approve. Okay, this is like not a lot to talk about, but um uh uh like everyone, we are also into Erling Holland, and there was a picture of him and Max. Him and Max are hanging out, and that was cute.
SPEAKER_03I loved that. Do we know when that was from?
SPEAKER_01Like right before they got knocked out of the World Cup. So we missed talking about it, and I threw it in there. I was like, that was fun.
SPEAKER_03I Erling Holland was bringing us so much joy from his honestly hit designer bags and his um taxidermy.
SPEAKER_01What speaking of designer bags and Arvid, Arvid had his vintage Balenciaga. Balenciaga, thank you. I was like, that wasn't right. His vintage, well, we think vintage. We think like from 2001. They maybe it was the re-release in 2024, but Arvid had a good vintage bag moment.
SPEAKER_03We've decided maybe we'll start doing um designer bag spottings. I feel like they're becoming very prominent with uh male athletes that they're carrying designer, designer bags around. And again, I think Erling Holland made it like extra yeah, but he's taking like the one straight from the runway. He's like a different level, like literally not even released yet.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, which is insane. Love, love that um okay, what else is up here? Okay, everyone okay. This is the other thing, and this isn't really something we need to talk in depth.
SPEAKER_02This isn't this isn't hot goss, it's just it's just my thought.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, everyone loves Kimmy. No one hates Kimmy. Everyone's so nice to him, like the drivers, I mean. They like him. Rachel even likes him.
SPEAKER_03I'm warming up. I still don't want him to be the championship. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Here's the thing, but here's the thing about the championship. It's not that I don't want Kimmy to win, I just want it to be a close fight like it was last season. Because truly, like what really hooked me on F1 was the end of that season. It was just so good. It was so good. It was I was like, who's gonna win? Is it gonna be Max? Is it gonna be Lando? Is it gonna be Oscar? They were all so close, and we just will not have that this year. John is completely spiraling with Kimmy having another win. He's like statistic the George the Grossel sprouts are leaning on statistics now, and Kimmy has won six times. And the Grossel sprouts are Grossel sprouting.
SPEAKER_03You came in at a really good time. Literally, the last the second half of the last year of regulation, so most teams had figured things out, so it was really competitive. That is not always the case, and that's not this year.
SPEAKER_01Well, I mean, I mean, and we don't even know how many, like you. Saying earlier before we started recording, we don't even know how many races we're actually going to have because of the Middle East, and they haven't announced. They're apparently going to tell us before silly season's over, but we don't know. Speaking of silly season, yeah. Rumors. What are the new rumors?
SPEAKER_03Well, you have a Yuki going to Williams? I haven't heard this.
SPEAKER_01Um, Kyle did something. Why am I blanking on his last name? Posted that apparently the newest rumor is that Yuki's going to leave Red Bull and go to Williams. Because everyone thinks Carlos is leaving Williams. But I'm like, where the heck is Carlos gonna go?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that doesn't work without one other factor happening. Right. So, but I feel like people would be excited about that. I do kind of miss Yuki's energy a little bit. I'm not a Yuki fan. I know. I know you aren't. But he added something. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's still he still he still does. He's around. I don't know. I know everyone's excited about it, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Just think about the moment where Nicole Miast Piastri Nicole Piastri met her second son. That was that was aka Yuki Sonoda.
SPEAKER_01That was pretty cute. That was pretty cute. Yuki was like, are you gonna get in trouble? Are you gonna get in trouble by putting on this hat? Oh my other my other silly season thought is that Alpine is doing really well, and I think that an Alpine seat is kind of a coveted seat right now.
SPEAKER_03Is this a hot take of yours?
SPEAKER_01I don't know if it's hot.
SPEAKER_03Is it like people are talking about this?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because like they're doing well. Flavio's insane, but Franco is doing really well, like kind of outperforming Pierre a little bit. And Pierre had a good start to the season, but like a man like Flavio who can get you P3 in Monaco, oh, had to bring up Monaco. I mean, don't you want to work for a man like that? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03That'll fight to the death for you. I will say Flavio is Christian Hornering a little bit, like I will say Christian Horner did fight to the death.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like you won you wanted Christian Horner on your team. Yeah, you want Flavio on your team. And Flavio doesn't get the Franco hype, which I love. I think it's so funny. I'm with Flavio. Yeah. No, I love Franco. He did so well this weekend.
SPEAKER_03I don't dislike again. I just I don't know. Maybe I need to watch more Franco content to get it.
SPEAKER_01I think I think I'll start sending you Franco content content. Don't don't threaten me with a good time. Oh my god. Oh my god. He didn't you see him walking in with the Argentinian like blanket.
SPEAKER_03That was funny with like this face on it.
SPEAKER_01Did you see the one video that they posted that he left his uh phone in the bathroom?
SPEAKER_03Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_01See, there's so much good Franco content. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03And then someone had to go find it for him.
SPEAKER_01Yes, then he just like wandered. He like he always acts so clueless. I love it. He's clearly not, like, he's an F1 driver, so he's very smart, but I do love how kind of like baby clueless he acts. It's funny to me. No, my my real hot take for Silly Season is that I don't think anything's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_03That is a hot take. I feel like it is going to be to your point, to your hot take. There's going to be no updates, everyone is staying put where they're where they currently are, or it's going to be absolute chaos. Like it's gotta be one extreme or the other.
SPEAKER_01I'm going for nothing's gonna happen. That's what I'm thinking.
SPEAKER_03I I hope that's not the case, but it also would be fine gone in with this crew in the same spot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. It's it's literally all up to Max or Carlos.
SPEAKER_03I think I think mostly Max again is the catalyst for this one. Carlos had his time where he shook things up.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, Williams is sucking so bad. I don't know, we'll see.
SPEAKER_03Lando is sick of the paparazzi, which I do not blame him. We talked about this last time, and I realize we're talking about this and maybe just perpetuating the narrative. But I do feel bad. I feel like no Formula One driver that I can remember as of late in the last five years had had has had this kind of treatment with their personal life outside of Lewis Hamilton, but he doesn't seem to mind. Like that's he's dating Kim Kardashian.
SPEAKER_01Do you think it's more because he's out and about so much? I feel like a lot of the other drivers we don't see like out and about.
SPEAKER_03He did say last year he was really locked in, of course, because he was trying to fight for the championship. And it's not that he doesn't like to go out with his friends or do any of that or that he doesn't do that. I think it is more frequently now because he's won world championship, there's less pressure. Like, I think he knows that he's not gonna win. Not that he's not trying. So I think there's that. I think there's also the fact that who he is hanging out with is very famous in her own right. And so I understand the interest. I mean, we're talking about it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we want to know what Lando's doing.
SPEAKER_03On a very random side note, Alex Earl, who is now being linked to Lando, as you know, dated Braxton Berrios, who is a football player for a long time. And I just saw a video on my Instagram feed about how the I think he must play for the Giants now, was basically doing a fun, funny quiz about like, okay, like what product or like makeup or beauty tool is this? And he literally pulled them all out and was listing them exactly by name. Incredible. And there was one, there was one he looks at and he's like, I absolutely hate that I know this, and spritzes it, and he's like, This is setting spray. And then there was another one and he's like, This is getting embarrassing. He's like, Is this what you use for slick backs? That's intense. I know. So now I'm like, maybe Lando's gonna get really good at no.
SPEAKER_01I mean, Lando already seems like posters, too, but yeah, yeah, like he knows his way. We all saw his mom. Like he knows his way around uh he knows accessories, names of accessories.
SPEAKER_03That's for that's for sure. His sweet mother loves to accessorize.
SPEAKER_01She loves some accessories, loves some maximum.
SPEAKER_03But anyway, Lando just had a quote about it doesn't feel as though life or private life is private, it's just life now. That is part of being a Formula One driver, but there are boundaries and I won't accept people following me. That is just odd. Because I think he had a paparazzi in London follow him. Like follow him, ew. Yeah, to like a friend, a friend's house. And that's just gross unnecessary. Let's let's not let's not do that.
SPEAKER_01Like I get that too. Let's not do that. Well, if you're paparazzi, that's like how you make your money. But there is a I agree. There's like a level. We don't need to stalk people. No, yeah, once it gets to stalking, I don't know. Maybe it's time to call it a night. That's kind of it. Time hot gas racing. Okay, free practice. We can just talk about free practice because we didn't watch, but um let's see. Kimmy was the fastest, surprise. And Lewis crashed in free practice three. And I think I don't even know if anything else really monumental happened. Didn't Gasly have oh yeah, his back, his back, um, his back rear wing like flew off. Like his car like broke in half, it looked like I don't remember which practice that was though. Like if it was two or three. Um, but my mom's note basically just said that they thought Cadillac was fastest for like two minutes, which is really funny. Cadillac just went out first, so that was kind of funny. LOL. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know what? Love their their hopefulness. Yeah, yeah. Refreshing.
SPEAKER_01Now, quality, we did watch. It was on a plane and it it was painful, but we did watch it.
SPEAKER_03We did. So out in coup three.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_03Q3. Um, Alex, Alonzo, Ocon, uh, Botas, Checo, and Strolly.
SPEAKER_01Strolly boy. Um, I don't even Q2. Yeah, Q2.
SPEAKER_03Out in Q2, Liam, Pierre, Franco, Nico, Carlos, and Ollie. Fastest, I do have what you have written in here too. Oh. I have Antonelli LeClaire and then Norris as Q2.
SPEAKER_01Lando was fastest in Q1.
SPEAKER_03Um, yeah, the full top five in Q2. Kimmy, Charles, Lando. And then yeah, Q3. You want to read off who starting grid?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Kimmy, Max.
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_01Lando, George, Charles, Lewis, Oscar, Arvid, Gabby, Leah, Pierre, and then Lando unfortunately had that penalty, so got bumped to P13. But I'm giving him the cred because he did really well.
SPEAKER_03I know we had this a touch point in our race, but this, I think they were talking about it in Q2 slash Q3, was the fact that Linblad had the upgrades versus Lawson because they literally made an agreement whoever was the fastest qualifying in Silverstone got the upgrades, which is because Lawson actually beat Arvid in the Silverstone race.
SPEAKER_01And in sprint, right?
SPEAKER_03Do you like this or do you feel like they should have just gone off of who's ever had the most points on the season thus far?
SPEAKER_01I I like that. Okay, so what I remember hearing or reading was that they basically were like, only one of you can get an upgrade. And they were like not going to give it to them. And instead of that happening, the boys were like, No, let us let us qualify, and whoever wins gets it. So apparently, like the drivers decided, and I like that, but I do think it's a little like fun, and it's cheeky.
SPEAKER_02It's definitely really cheeky.
SPEAKER_01And it seems very them. Like I we get a lot of like content from them, so it seems very like them, but it does seem a little sad for Liam because obviously the upgrades were great.
SPEAKER_03So I mean, clearly, clearly they were they were good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh, but yeah, I know there's been a lot of discourse around that, and I'm with you. I liked I liked that's how that's how they decided. And then I can't remember who I think it was a social media creator. Someone on Instagram was like, they should have told us that before Silverstone, so that we could have been like invested.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I know, because we were just like, oh, it's the it's the V Carb boys, like in P9 and P10 or whatever, um, you know, in their normal spot.
SPEAKER_03No, we could have been rooting for I mean he did not qualify, but we're like, we could have been really like rooting.
SPEAKER_01I know. I know he's doing so well.
SPEAKER_03Oh so good, so good. There were definitely a couple other things through.
SPEAKER_01We talked about we talked about our um Isaac um towing Max, and that was good. And then was it Oscar that ran in the gravel? Someone went in the gravel.
SPEAKER_03Um, I don't remember who went in the gravel. And caused a red. I know I know at the end of Q2, I Nico's car stopped, and then it was like rolling away.
SPEAKER_01And he like he like stopped it as it was on the hill. He like couldn't stop it because they weigh so freaking much. So much, yeah, and all the all the marshals like came running up. Um yeah, someone got in the gravel. I thought it was Oscar, and but it didn't affect anything, it was just like, oh, gravel, and then and then we moved on.
SPEAKER_03I just love that the gravel was such a main character in the race, like it caused so many safety or uh or like yellow flags because we had to sweep the gravel.
SPEAKER_01And we we kept being like, okay, gravel, gravel, gravel, gravel, so piastry, yeah, make the gravel go on the gravel. Charlotte Claire, Agent of Chaos.
SPEAKER_03Help us help Lando.
SPEAKER_01Um, I'm trying to think of what else happened in quality.
SPEAKER_03I think that's pretty much it. It was not the most eventful, which is fine. They they all can't be. What did you think of the race?
SPEAKER_01You know, it wasn't it was not the most entertaining race that I've ever watched, but it wasn't like a processional, like things happened.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I think it just really started off hot and fast, and then there was some decent action, and then it really tapered off at the end.
SPEAKER_01There were so many penalties, which apparently I keep reading that like a lot of teams take the penalties during this race because it's right before the break, and then it's like a harder track to pass people on, but it seems like a good track, like it's got that whole, and we talked about it last episode the like upward hill, that long, straight. Yeah, and we saw a lot of things happen, but it just I don't know. It was fine. I mean, Max got on the podium, and that's really what I wanted, so I got what I wanted. I did. You got your wish. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I I will say I so starting off, um, it was funny that they were talking about how fast Kimmy was going on the formation lap to like get his tires going. But I thought it was interesting because then they were saying not the rest of the pack might not keep up with him, so then he's actually gonna be sitting there longer and his tires will like cool down. Yeah, they were but it was even not his tires, it was like to get the like speed kind of built up to um yeah, because they they were like they were sitting there for so long, and then like finally Fernando comes up and they're like, see how long that took?
unknownLike, oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Well, and in my mind, I'm like silly little Kimmy, just like speeding too fast. Like, what are we doing, bud?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's so Kimmy, it's a very Kimmy move.
SPEAKER_03Um, but obviously, I mean Kimmy had a really stellar race. Unfortunately, George did not. Um sounds like he had no power out of turn one. And apparently, Toto was saying that all the Mercedes power units had this issue, but it was just extra apparent in George's car, and there's been so much discussion about George's car versus Kimmy's car, so on and so forth.
SPEAKER_01Where it was like half the car and half George's driving, which I thought was interesting.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, did he say George's driving, or was he referring to like but was he talking about all the power units, like Mercedes power units, or was he just talking about George?
SPEAKER_01I thought he was just talking about George because it was like in reference to George, but I mean, I guess he could have been talking about all the power units. But what's interesting is if Kimmy's so much faster than George and his car is that different, why do they not just set George's car up like Kimmy's? That makes no sense to me.
SPEAKER_03Do you think they're trying to sabotage George?
SPEAKER_01Well, that's that's what everyone keeps saying is that they're like, they're like there's a constraint. You're gonna make Kimmy look really good? I don't know, or just make George look bad, but I don't know why. Like if you're Mercedes, what do you gain from having one driver that bad there's the no, there's no apps like why while that is so fun to speculate about.
SPEAKER_03And then like if Toto is really calling out Yeah, and if Toto is really calling out George in the media for his lack of driving skills, I'm like, what is happening?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no, no, no, no. I I don't think that's I don't think Toto would do that just for the sake of like he wants to win the constructors. Right. 100%. But why is George and then there was the the the there was the whole thing about George was it last race that he was like I'm really slow on the straights, and Toto spoke up in the in the radio and was like you're fine on the streets, you're fast. And then after qualifying before the race, there started to be things coming out about how his car was messed up, which I don't know. I didn't look into that at all.
SPEAKER_03I think we're gonna have to take this into further investigation. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Grussel sprouts, we got you.
SPEAKER_03Grussel sprouts, we're on it. Um, I think the crazy thing. Okay, so George got hit ever so slightly, it seems, by Lewis Hamilton. I thought it looked like George almost kind like didn't leave enough space and turned into him. However, Lewis got a five-second penalty for clipping George and spinning him into the gravel, and then George couldn't get out.
SPEAKER_01And what's crazy about that is George was like it was a racing incident, which it looked like a racing incident.
SPEAKER_03Looked like a race, it looked like a racing incident. It looked like no one was trying to sabotage anyone. And I will say George's radio it was not played on the broadcast, but it was going, I don't know, viral is the right word. But all of a sudden I felt like it was all over the feed, and I thought it was fake because there was so many F-bombs.
SPEAKER_01So many curse words. It was not very George Russell.
SPEAKER_03No, and he wasn't blaming Lewis at all. He was literally blaming the black power and the car and the team, and it was kind of dark. It was real dark.
SPEAKER_01He was not okay, is not okay.
SPEAKER_03No, and his hands were doing like a like a why gesture. Like he wasn't even like pounding on the steering wheel. Like he was like it's like a stolable, yeah, like the worst luck in the whole world.
SPEAKER_01And it was immediate, like he didn't even get a chance to do anything in that race. And they gave Lewis a five-second penalty. They gave Lewis the penalty and not anyone else the whole race.
SPEAKER_03Well, so that kind of takes us into even talking about um Charles and Oscar's little brush with one another, which was later in the race. And I that was fascinating because that looked more intentional that Charles was hitting Oscar and not a thing happened.
SPEAKER_01I was convinced that Oscar hit Charles and had to watch so many videos. Do you remember? I was like, no, Charles wouldn't do that to Oscar. I watched so many videos and I was like, no, it was definitely like he swiped him.
SPEAKER_03Well, and then in the cooldown room, Max was like to Charles like calculated. And I after rewatching that, I'm like, I do think that he meant like Charles was doing that on purpose.
SPEAKER_01And in the moment I was like, no, why would he call him out in the cooldown room? That's crazy. And then the the like I kept seeing it back, and I was like, oh my god. And then Kimmy and Charles switch spots like to buffer. It's all like they were like, oh, move along, like buffer.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Uh I think to your point, that was where they were supposed to be for the one, two, three positions. Um, but yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01But Max was like Max was like, you need to move now before we keep incriminating Charles. Oh, so yeah, Ferrari was Ferrari so hard. There was like all the drama about Lewis's front wing. Oh, yes, Lewis didn't want it changed or didn't wanted it changed, and they said that they didn't. And what's interesting is that he had the five second penalty. So he was just sitting there. And then they didn't tell him, I guess, that they weren't going to change it. So then Lewis had a really snarky radio that was like, I guess I'm not going to drive then or not be able to turn or whatever.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And that was just And then at the end of the race, he's like, decent, like, decent job, guys. Like, would have been better. I did what the best I could with the wing or whatever. Yes. Wasn't there someone else though that didn't want their wing changed? Oh, Carlos. Yeah. Carlos. He said, I didn't accomplish this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That was spicy.
SPEAKER_01He was not happy.
SPEAKER_03Carlos can get pretty spicy, but that was like truly like, oh, okay. He's in, he's in control. Yeah. He is in control of the he, yeah.
SPEAKER_01He was like, you guys need to listen to me or like get the fuck out of here. Claren leaving Lando out for 31 laughs.
SPEAKER_03I on heart. It was a smidge too long, but I but what didn't help was their freaking almost eight second hit stop.
SPEAKER_01That was literally heartbreaking. Because Lando, again, had such a good drive and he had that stupid penalty. It was coming from P13. It goes all the way up. They left and they were we were joking like while we were watching, we were like, McLaren is going for something. Like they are like, he is staying out. We got this. And he did, he held off Max for so long. And we and was it one of the commentators was like, Wow, he's becoming Charlotte Claire's best friend?
SPEAKER_03Yes, because he was Lando was slowing Max down.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, which that was pretty quite some time. But oh my god, Lando, that was the worst, and I know it's not Lando's fault, but he's gotta be so mad. That was such a bad pit stop.
SPEAKER_03I didn't wa I have this horrible habit of saving videos because I'm like, oh, I don't want to watch this in the moment, and then I never go back to it. Um, but he did, I saw the start of his post-race video from on McLaren's feed, and yeah, he was not thrilled.
SPEAKER_01No, and Oscar. Oscar's had the worst season ever for him, like almost winning World Drivers Championship and just like putzing along. I don't even know what place he's in for the World Drivers Championship right now, but that pit stop was so bad.
SPEAKER_03The Lando pit stop was and then Oscar got hit by Charles. It's not McLaren's year, and that's fine.
SPEAKER_01Hey, at least you got last year.
SPEAKER_03That was that's I know that I'm gonna be clinging to that forever.
SPEAKER_01We don't know how the rest of the season goes because Lando's in what P5?
SPEAKER_03I believe so. Yeah, yeah. The most frustrating part, even more than Lando's pit stop, was when they had the they there was the Cola Pinto overtake on Pierre and Liam Lawson, and they only showed it in the tiny box.
SPEAKER_01We didn't see it.
SPEAKER_03It was absolutely stunning.
SPEAKER_01We were like, we were like watch okay, we were watching it on a laptop in an airport, and we could see the movement happening, but all they did was show the main characters. It was like they couldn't peel away from Charles Leclerc just following Kimmy around. And I'm sorry, Kimmy Antonelli was like flying away at that point. It was dummy.
SPEAKER_03When Max was dominating in 2023, we never saw him. We never saw him. Why would we want to see him? And I'm like, why do we want to see Kimmy?
SPEAKER_01Show me show me the pit stops. I want to see the pit stops. You know how I feel about pit stops. We have drones. The fact that we did not see Frank baby Franco double passing Pierre and Liam in the middle of that race, like I cannot believe it. Thank God for social media. Because I like thank god.
SPEAKER_03So we looked incredible to watch replay the clip at a larger in a larger capacity.
SPEAKER_01Okay, the other thing, not to switch subjects, but back to Ferrari for a second. Yeah, Bono low-key tattling on Charles Leclerc on turn five was hilarious, and I had to process it. But Bono was like, Kimmy, just watch out for Charles on turn five. He likes to go wide. I was like, oh dang.
SPEAKER_03Um, no, that was sh that was shady. That was shady, but also what about Kimi? Uh literally almost getting a black Yes! Kimmy's track limits. He proud of him. He didn't he didn't actually get any penalties. He he stayed inside the track, but one day that is going to get him again.
SPEAKER_01It's going to get him, and everyone knows that he's bad at track limits. They're all gonna watch him. He just gets too excited.
SPEAKER_03Um he's like a puppy that like peas.
SPEAKER_01He's Remy, he's Remy. Okay, I'm I'm looking at my notes. We talked about Isaac Hadjar just climbing from P21 to P6 and like not winning driver of the day, which is insane. We talked about poor George. TBD. I think he's not okay, but we'll give you some more info.
SPEAKER_03I think we truly covered okay the all the highlights.
SPEAKER_01The last thing is the cooldown room. When they showed the cooldown room, we were like, who is that? And we were like, okay, that's Stefano D'Ma.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, I forgot that man.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and then we were like, who is this other man? It is it was the prince of Belgium that Stefano Dominicali just like let in the cooldown room, and that was when he made his decision that he wanted to talk to Max Verstappen, which is insane. I get it. You want to talk to Max Verstappen. You couldn't do it any other time of the weekend. They just stood there. We were like, what is happening right now? And then Max was like sucking up to him weirdly. Well, yeah, he's royalty.
SPEAKER_03Max is not Max is gonna be rude to royalty. No, no, but he's half his half uh prince or his half native land prince.
SPEAKER_01He had to do it for his mom. He had to do it for his mom. No, but I thought that was so weird. We were like, who is this man? And then the worst part about all of it was the audio was incredible. That's like the first time we've had good audio.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, like crystal clear. I feel like uh no disrespect to the Belgian prince, but it was giving MBS vibes. Like we're trying too hard here. It actually is not race related, but how about that photo that MBS posted that was like chilling with the boys on the wall? With the boys, yeah, he's just hanging out. Ricardo and I can't remember who's gonna be like, SD Besky and Carlos.
SPEAKER_01It was hilarious. The red flags, red flags was like, why are you they always say like, why do you want to hang out with the referee? Like the head of the referees, and that just makes me laugh so hard because he is he's the head of the referees.
SPEAKER_03Which is which is so funny because yes, it's true. The head of the referees. Okay, wait, I pulled up the picture four years ago today, before the Belgian Grand Prix in 2022, a great moment shared with Shou Guanyu, Alex Albon, Danny Ricardo, Mick Schumacher, and Esteban Okan. And it kind of looks like an album cover pick. It does. They're all lighting against the wall. Like MBS has like his sunglasses like in his hand. He's glancing over at Danny and they're smiling at one another.
SPEAKER_01We should do a deep dive on MBS because I feel like he wanted to be a race car driver and never made it.
SPEAKER_03We should. That could be one of our um up-and-coming silly season, aka summer break apps. We can talk about Mohammed Ben Silver.
SPEAKER_01Let's do it. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_03We talked about the penalties. I know. Yeah. But do you think it's fair that they gave one to Lewis and not Sinclair?
SPEAKER_01No, I do not think it's fair. I thought that was I was I was waiting for a Monaco situation where like everyone was getting penalized because Lewis got that so early in the race. And then I was like, oh, we're just ignoring that now, I guess.
SPEAKER_03I guess, and I guess people are saying which FIA does is they kind of take into consideration the outcome, which makes like sense to some extent, but Oscar still seemed to have some sort of floor damage, like maybe he could have done even better.
SPEAKER_01And George Russell, it was a race, it was the turn one.
SPEAKER_03It was, it was a turn one racing incident, and normally they're more lenient, but uh, and I so I don't know why that was flip-flopped.
SPEAKER_01And yeah, I it's like Ferrari, no one wants Ferrari to win, but like I know people do want Ferrari to win, so that's not it.
SPEAKER_03I think this is why we need consistent stewarding, and I would absolutely partake in the Stuarting program. Yes. Um, but then I'm like, would MBS be our ultimate boss?
SPEAKER_01So I'm like, I don't know how I feel also that, but I forgot to bring up the marshal that like sprinted across the racetrack.
SPEAKER_03Respect. Yeah. And we were joking, we're like, we're not training for a marathon, we're training to remove debris off of the F1 track.
SPEAKER_01That's what we're actually training for. The dream. Okay, but yeah, I didn't think that was fair. I thought that was so stupid. And I don't like even if it was Lewis's quote unquote fault, it was turn one. Like, come on.
unknownI know.
SPEAKER_01Okay. World Drivers Championship standings. We have Lewis or sorry, Lewis. Whoa. Kimmy Antonelli, number one, with 204 points. This is very small on my screen. Lewis Hamilton did pop back up into P2. 159. Thank you. George Brussels Sprout, uh 150.
SPEAKER_03154.
SPEAKER_01154. I feel like I'm doing an eye test. And then we have Charlotte Claire still in P4. We have Lando still in P5, Oscar still in P6, Max still in P7. And no one else has changed. Isaac, Pierre, Liam. Liam's still hanging out in P10. So yeah, it's it's pulling away. It's kind of sad. It's like, I mean, I'm happy for Kimmy. He's obviously doing a really good job. But you know, I wanted to see a fight, like I said.
SPEAKER_03Did we say the race results officially?
SPEAKER_01Oh no.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, guys.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, everyone.
SPEAKER_03Kimmy number one, Charles number two, Max three for three. Um, oh, and four for 44. Louie, Lulu Hami. Love that. Um, Oscar in fifth, Hajar in sixth, Lando in seventh, Gabrielle Bordoletto in eighth. Great, great job, buddy. Um, Arvid, classic P9, Franco baby, as Lexi calls him, and number 10. Outstanding.
SPEAKER_01Outstanding. Great. All right.
SPEAKER_03Um, and I think we just had um who retired from the race? It was George Perez, George, and Lance or Fernando.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Lance, because Fernando finished the race, and the joke was that Fernando just wanted to get home to watch the World Cup.
SPEAKER_03The World Cup final.
SPEAKER_01Because Lance was out pretty early, if I remember right. So I thought that was kind of funny.
SPEAKER_03That was hilarious. Hopefully they made it. Hopefully, Franco and Um Fernando and Carol.
SPEAKER_01Well, yeah, especially because anyway. All right, moving on to Hungary. Yay. Okay. Um, Hungary. It is basically we're back in Monaco, but we don't have a street. We have a track. So what a description. Yeah, yeah, we got a track, not a street. Nestled just outside of Budapest in the village of Oh my god, Mod Motor Road. Motorode. Motorode.
SPEAKER_03Hungora ring.
SPEAKER_01Hungora ring?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Hungaro.
SPEAKER_03It's 10 24 in the evening.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're getting silly over here. I still haven't eaten dinner.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. We gotta wrap this so you can have food.
SPEAKER_01Okay, okay, this will be quick. The wait, Hunger Row?
SPEAKER_03No, I love this.
SPEAKER_01Hungora ring. Hunger ring. Hungora. It's like hunger. It's like Hungarian, but Hunger Hunger Ring. Anyway, it's been a staple since 1986. It was the first Formula One race held behind the Iron Curtain thanks to Bernie Ecclestone pulling off one of the biggest power moves in the sports history. More than 200,000 fans packed the circuit for the inaugural race, and nearly 40 years later, the vibes are still immaculate. What a detail. We must go. Yes, I know. I'm like, this made me want to go. Um, nicknamed Monaco Without the Walls. Huh? Oh. The Hungaro Ring is narrow, twisty, and notoriously difficult to overtake. It's a track where Pit strategy can make or break a race, and we're qualifying feels just as important as the race itself, just like Monaco. Couple iconic moments here. Damon Hill scored his first win in 1993. Fernando Alonso became the youngest ever race winner in 2003 here. And then Jensen Button took his maiden victory in a chaotic rain soaked race in 2006. More recently, Esteban Ocon shocked the grid in 2021, which we will discuss in a second because it is chaotic. Um, and then Oscar also claimed his long-awaited first Formula One victory in 2024. So lots of first victories here. Okay. Here's the weird things to note. Michael Schumacher won thanks to a strategy gamble for the ages, uh, which now that I'm reading what I wrote, I don't remember what that strategy was. I feel like I did this weeks ago. It was just a few hours ago. Do you know what I'm talking about? No. Okay. It's fine. I'll look it up. Nigel Mansell charged from 12th to P1 in 1989. 2021, Lulu Hammy lined up on the starting grid completely alone after everyone else drove into the pits for slick tires. And then Valtery Bodaz caused a crash during lap one that same race that took out 13 drivers, and only Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricardo were able to finish of those involved in the crash. That was the year that our dear friend SC Bestie won and scored his first F1 victory. So Valkyrie Bought us Agent of Chaos.
SPEAKER_03I did not even realize that Esteban had won a race.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, in 2021 when literally 13 people crashed out and Lulu Hammy was like one of the only ones to like actually start the race. Oh my god. Chaos.
SPEAKER_03I feel like I feel like we should like rewatch that race.
SPEAKER_01We should honestly the first lap. Yeah. Okay, and then the other.
SPEAKER_03I did I Googled quick. Oh, okay, great. Great, great. You said it was a 90, 1998. Oh, we don't even have that list. I think it's 1998. It was just a it was a three-stop gamble. Oh, cool. Um, so I think they just did three stops instead of two.
SPEAKER_01Perfect. Love. Very Red Bull. Very Red Bull of them.
SPEAKER_03Very Red Bull.
SPEAKER_01Okay, and then the other fun fact about this race, which now I'm I'm remembering, and I put this in as like uh Ask Rachel, but um the trophies are handmade porcelain pieces and they take six months, six months to create. They cost around 40,000 euros each.
SPEAKER_03And didn't Lando break someone's Lando broke Max's trophy when they were on the podium together because Lando did his signature champagne pop where he hits it on the ground and he hit it too hard and too close to Max's trophy, and the trophy broke. Devastating a little video of them later after the trophy had been like remade of Lando and Max and him getting the trophy. That is so I believe that's what it was.
SPEAKER_01No, that sounds right. I remember you telling me that was like one of the first stories you told me about Lando, and I was like, that's insane. I love it. Um, okay, last year results really quick before we do Formula Run Club, top 10. Okay. Lando oh, sorry, no, great. Okay, we had Lando number one, Oscar, Grussel Sprout, Charlotte Claire, Fernando Alonso got P5. Wow. Oh, Gabby, PC. Oh my god, Liam P7. And then Liam, then Max, then Andrea Kimmy Antonelli.
SPEAKER_03Wow. This should honestly be like almost a reverse grid. No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_01I know it's crazy. So anyway, um, that's a little bit about hungry. So now we can dive into Formula Run Club.
SPEAKER_03Great. Um, recap of last time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, a reminder for those uh Formula Run Club is where every week we automatically generate and pick drivers, and then we have to guess where that driver is going to end the Grand Prix. And then essentially we have to run the deficit in comparison to our guesses. If it's positive or negative, we have to run the run the mileage. So last week I had Pierre in I guessed P10. And then after that, or I he ended in P11. So I only have to run one mile. Is that right? Wow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. You did good.
SPEAKER_03Um, and then Lex had her fave, little William Lawson. Yep. Um, you had him in P12. I had high hopes. He ended in P12.
SPEAKER_01And if I had known about the upgrades, it probably would have changed my guess, but it's fine.
SPEAKER_03No, I think that we did the best we could with the information we had, and we've both already done those miles. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's true. Done and done and dusted. Okay, I tried to share my screen, but it literally kicked me off the call.
SPEAKER_03No, I I did notice that and a second, but I came back. We kept going.
SPEAKER_01Good job, good job, good job. Um, so I'm just gonna do it for you. Yeah, and it'll be less exciting. Just you know, I'm clicking. We're spinning.
SPEAKER_03You want to go first?
SPEAKER_01Sure. Okay, this will be me. Oh my god, Kimmy Antonelli. Okay, well, that's easy. That's an easy one.
SPEAKER_03You doing P1?
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna lock in P1. I mean, I feel like it'd be silly not to.
SPEAKER_03I love it. Even though we got P10 last year?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01He's like a force to reckon with. Okay, ready?
SPEAKER_03Yep. Oh, I can't. Wait, this is the anticipation. I can't even see. I know, you can't even see.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, you got Arvid!
SPEAKER_03Oh my god! Did it did one of us have Arvid recently?
SPEAKER_01I think so, but I can't remember how recently. I feel like we always have V carb. Um that's a hard one. He's never raised here.
SPEAKER_03No, I'm just looking, so he ha he was a ninth, and then he was the seventh. And the tenth. He's kind of in the bottom points pretty consistently. I am going to go. I'm going to do P8.
SPEAKER_01Nice. Good choice.
SPEAKER_03P8.
SPEAKER_01I support this.
SPEAKER_03Uh family prediction.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm pretty sure we just have John, a little bit of Carter, and then a comment from Lydia, but she didn't give me a prediction. And then Susan and Greg, right? Did Elise get back to you?
SPEAKER_03No, and I think it was just Susan that got back to the case. Okay, so you go first.
SPEAKER_01John said, and he's really sad boy, but he said George Russell. They said George Russell P1, Kimmy P2, and Max P3. Lewis Hamilton loses control and laughs three. And then he said, just kidding, that's probably not the case. He's remarkably consistent. What? He said, quote, George gets back at it. They fix the drivetrain. He's in it to win it.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, that's so funny.
SPEAKER_01And then Carter, who has not watched the race, I think she's watching it like currently, right now. Um well that's fine.
SPEAKER_03She can predict the hung Hungarian Grand Prix.
SPEAKER_01She said, Well, George Russell wins, and Stroll won't finish. Those are predictions.
SPEAKER_03I mean those are those are honestly. I mean, that almost happened last race.
SPEAKER_01And then oh I forgot. Lydia. Yeah, it basically, yeah, basically almost happened. Um, Lydia said this has nothing to do with predictions, but doesn't it kind of look like an ice cream sundae glass that was broken?
SPEAKER_03It kind of does. Honestly, it kind of does. Yeah. And that makes me want ice cream.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah. So those are those are the the predictions from my my peeps.
SPEAKER_03I love that everyone always chooses more than just the winner.
SPEAKER_01And the same things. And the same things.
SPEAKER_03Um, my mom is the one that got back to me, and she said she sent it, must have been in a voice note text situation because it didn't make a lot of sense. But she sent me another text that says she changed hers to Kimmy, Lewis, and Charles, and then for some reason she said Max is in fourth.
SPEAKER_01So I love that she went with Kimmy. That's a new one for her.
SPEAKER_03Normally she just she does choose Charles or Lewis, but yeah, she's feeling the Mercedes vibes.
SPEAKER_01Man, okay. All right. I know.
SPEAKER_03I know.
SPEAKER_01Rachel also said that her husband would probably pick Max.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because that's who always who he chooses by default, because he thinks he's the best driver. And he is, arguably.
SPEAKER_01You know, he's good. I think he's a good driver.
SPEAKER_03I'm talking to Max's number one fan.
SPEAKER_01I'm a Maxi Boy fan over here. Okay, well, yeah, we did it.
