Qinyou Hu joined the Department of Economics at UT San Antonio in the fall of 2025. She holds a PhD in economics from Rice University, a master’s degree in economics from Duke University, and a BS in economics from the Capital University of Economics and Business in Beijing, China. She is also a visiting research fellow at Aalto University School of Business and Rice Economics.

Qinyou is an applied microeconomist whose research focuses on topics related to family, education, and health. She designs and implements field experiments and combines experimental and observational data to address policy-relevant questions.
