Caleb Savant
Brownells' Caleb Savant is a Purple Heart recipient, former U.S. Army Combat Engineer, and professional gunsmith with more than a decade of bench experience. After being medically discharged following injuries sustained in Afghanistan in 2010, Caleb began his career as a gunsmith apprentice and quickly developed a reputation for restoring obsolete firearms and solving real-world mechanical problems.
He has managed the oldest gunsmith shop in Louisiana and the largest gunsmith shop in Baton Rouge, performed warranty work for major firearm manufacturers, and served as the annual armorer for the New Orleans Federal Reserve Bank from 2013–2016. Caleb is also an Army Small Arms Armorer, Glock Armorer, and S&W M&P Armorer. Known for openly teaching the trade instead of gatekeeping it, he previously hosted the “Ask The Gunsmith” segment on Louisiana Outdoors.
