As co-host of the Built to Last podcast, Jude brings a light but experienced voice shaped by lessons learned, service, and a deep passion for the lifestyle. He approaches every conversation with genuine curiosity, always excited to learn what’s new and how the legends did it back in the day. To Jude, every design and every solution created by a craftsman is something to admire. Proof that when things are built with care and purpose, they never lose their luster. KP Robinson

KP Robinson is the Senior Sniper Instructor at Grey Group, LLC, a 22-year veteran of the Des Moines Police Department, and a 19-year Sniper Team Leader for the Metro STAR SWAT Team. His experience includes service as a Metro Transit Police Officer in Washington, D.C., during the DC Sniper era. 


KP is a Distinguished Service Award recipient for his role in a hostage rescue involving three children. He led efforts to equip his unit with Accuracy International rifles after extensive evaluation. His instruction has proven real-world impact, with former students prevailing in multiple sniper engagements. 


KP holds advanced certifications from the FBI and NTOA and stays closely connected to top industry experts and competitive shooters to ensure his training reflects current standards in precision and performance.

Matthew Ostrander

Matt Ostrander serves as the Program Director and faculty for the Gunsmith Technology program at Iowa Valley Community College’s Grinnell campus—an applied, hands-on curriculum for students entering gunsmithing fields. He is the Owner and Operator of Ostrander Defense, headquartered in De Soto, Iowa, where he provides tailored church security consulting, active shooter training, small business security solutions, and comprehensive risk assessments. The company’s outreach includes professional certifications such as Active Shooter Response Instructor and leadership in gunsmithing education.

Michael Ware

Michael Ware is the Owner and Operator of Controlled Chaos Arms, where he builds precision bolt guns, 1911s, and safari and mountain rifles with a strong focus on craftsmanship and customer experience. His background began in the trades as a trained diesel technician and machine shop worker, and he grew up working alongside his father, an electrician, which shaped his mechanical approach to firearms. Ware later worked through service, parts, warranty, sales, and customer management roles before starting his own shop, giving him a full perspective of the industry from build to customer support. His work includes building 1919A4 Browning machine guns for refurbished John Deere Tanks and expanding into multiple precision platforms. Ware is largely self-taught as a gunsmith with additional instruction from respected builder Gordy Gritters and remains an active shooter while raising a youth competitive shooter in his household.
