At the time of recording, I had two cysts removed from my scalp, and the next morning I couldn’t stop thinking about how incredible the human body is.
Because without instructions, without micromanagement, and without force, it immediately began repairing itself.
And that’s exactly what your system is doing when you emotionally eat.
In this episode, I’m unpacking why emotional eating is rarely about food, and why it’s not self sabotage, laziness, or a lack of discipline. It’s often a nervous system strategy for relief, regulation, and unmet needs.
We’ll explore the deeper link between emotional eating and people pleasing, why high functioning women often override their capacity until the pressure becomes unbearable, and how food becomes the safest place to soften when your emotions don’t feel safe to express.
I’ll also explain why shaming yourself makes the cycle tighter, and how IFS therapy helps you meet the parts underneath the pattern so food doesn’t have to keep doing the job.
Because your body isn’t the enemy.
It never was.
It’s been trying to heal you this whole time.
