Episode 15: Your Relationship With Food Is a Mirror

In this episode, I’m talking about something that’s been sitting in my system for a while.
That my relationship with food was never actually about food, it mirrored my relationship to my emotions.
For years, I thought I had a discipline problem. I thought I needed more control, more willpower, more consistency. But the deeper I’ve gone into this work, the clearer it’s become. Food was never the issue. It was the strategy my system used when I didn’t know how to hold what I was feeling.
I explore how emotional eating and restriction can be two sides of the same pattern, how people pleasing and caretaking often sit underneath food struggles, and why the body never does anything for no reason.
I also share why IFS is such a powerful approach for emotional eating, not because it gives you more tools or rules, but because it brings you back into relationship with your own system, so the need for food to regulate you begins to soften naturally.
