Welcome back, Yeeters!
This episode is a super cool one for all us number nerds. Superfan, Lyn (@the.booket.list.by.lyn) gives us her brain scratching numerology breakdowns.
And as usual, we are freaking out over more micro-expressions from our guys, Hollanov, during their first, HEATED text exchange. ;)

Welcome back. Welcome back. You have found us again. Ye did rivalry. Natalie here.
SPEAKER_02This is Liz. You have located us. We have our microphones.
SPEAKER_04We have made ourselves available to you once again. Free of charge on the internet. Yes. Free of charge. You are welcome. Well, yeah, I guess so. Right? I don't know. That's it. There's no charge, baby. You'll probably take some of your energy, hopefully, from laughing so much. I know. Oh my god. So it's been a long week for everybody so far. I know I know it's been a long week for me personally. It's been a long week in the fandom. And you know, we just uh we just gotta keep on keeping on. We do. Bring the joy. Yep. So we're gonna keep on trucking. And uh so so Liz, what was uh what was your most recent reheat?
SPEAKER_02Oh my people know. My my my reheat? Oh, I'm so happy that you asked. So I was once again in the mood to hurt my own feelings and had to watch specifically I didn't even watch the first half of four because I was tired and I'm old. And I watched the club scene because I feel like you just have to watch a specific person. It's like you know, the reheats have a theme, and so it's like you want to watch this particular character and see what they do and whatever.
SPEAKER_04There's some sort of thing, something about the story that you would like to consume.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and the club scene and the choices that were made in the club scene just itch me in the right way, and so I felt the need to do a like multi-scene reheat.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, every time I watch the club scene, I'm just like this is just an ed, this is just like a really good edit. Like, who did this edit? Who is who did this?
SPEAKER_02Melly, is that you?
SPEAKER_04Melly? God, it's so good. Oh, wow.
SPEAKER_02This should be this a show.
SPEAKER_04Melly, we love you.
SPEAKER_02Congratulations on all of your awesome stuff happening. Good.
SPEAKER_03We love you.
SPEAKER_02It's so nice. It's like the equivalent of you know, making the right people famous. I mean, she's like famous in her own right for what she does, but like a kinder, more genuine human you will never meet.
SPEAKER_04Did you see where she talked about how uh they asked her what she was like the most excited for for season two? And did you see that? I I think I did, but now I don't remember. Because she was they were like, What are you most excited for? And she just automatically was like the plane crash. And like that, she said the whole place just like erupted in like uh and up and I was like, please. I was like, if you if you if you don't even know anything about that at this point, then you're not listening at all.
SPEAKER_02You have you have better spoiler alert, whatever stuff better friends than us.
SPEAKER_04Or worse, I don't know, I guess depending on how you look at it. Right. Like, how do you not sure how to qualify that? My god, yeah, I told her I was like, that's the to me, that is the best answer for the place that you are.
SPEAKER_02Like to get that reaction, like I'd be I would live off of that for months the rest of my life. I would put that shit on my resume. Like, fuck the editing. I'd be like, I shut down a room. Yeah. Two words, shut it down. Plane crash. Buck.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, done. Whole thing screech to a halt. Beautiful. But anyway, we got on got offhand. Sorry. I have my love. I have an a confession to make. I have not reheated. I have not reheated since I watched it with my mother-in-law last week.
SPEAKER_02Well, I mean, to be fair, that was a significant you even documented that reheat.
SPEAKER_04So that was like that was a significant I have been watching lots of edits. And so that has been lovely. And all of the really fun videos that everybody is sharing, like the slow-mo videos. I saw a video earlier where it was um I'm trying to think what was it talking about? Something about Shane. Oh, it's talking about how Shane is always looking at Ilya's mouth. But the first, but the first clip, because I mean, well, obviously, it's like I mean, get in line. Uh, but the first clip is from uh 1221, and it's right before Ilya says get on your knees. And I never noticed like Shane's hand placement because he had his hands like all up in her, but he had his hand, like his hand literally like comes down like around his face, and I was just like, Why have I never noticed that? So I just like kept sitting there restarting the clip, not watching the rest of it.
SPEAKER_02That's that's the equivalent of why is this edit five years long?
SPEAKER_04Because all of a sudden you realize, like, oh why is this edit five years long and I for some reason can't get past the first four seconds? It just keeps restarting. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02But it's just so bizarre. There's like a glitch in it. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04So so I think that probably counts as my most recent read because I just watched it a million times.
SPEAKER_02Just that that like 1.3 seconds of yeah, I'm gonna have to find it and send it to you so you know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, and then you have to watch the rest of it because the rest of it's also lovely. Because just Shane looking at Ilya's mouth. Oh, because why wouldn't you? Yeah, it's right there.
SPEAKER_02Right, it's right there, it's all yours. Please take it in. Slowly, slower, in slow mo and put to music. Thank you very much. Appreciate it. All right, so we left off at the end of the montage. Yeah, from the beginning of episode two. Get Los Paul Rabb.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you know, and then we go right into JJ just coming in hot. Coming in hot, dude, with the it's just so funny.
SPEAKER_03If Rosenov fucks you tonight, I'm going to fuck him back.
SPEAKER_02And poor Shane, poor, I wrote down here, poor sweet baby Shane. His his face, his literal interpretation of what JJ just said, it you see the panic. I mean, it's it's not like 1410 level of gay panic, but it is like it is reaching like grown-up level of gay panic. Like, I am in this locker room and I am about to be found out. Like, does he know what the plan has been?
SPEAKER_04Well, yeah, and I think it also goes back to just like the way he is. He takes everything so literally. Yes. So he heard that and he was like, he did he did not think it was a joke.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely not. He no. You know why?
SPEAKER_04You know why? Because fucking Rosanov is not a joke to him.
SPEAKER_02We are not playing, we may be playing hockey, but we are not playing with after hockey. Thank you very much. Uh so yeah, so Shane reacting that way. Do you think so? As I was watching it, I was like, is there a reason that MIDI is in that position on the ground? I realize. I'm not listening I know that that goalies stretch, and that is a like common hockey player stretch to do. But to me, I was like Was that foreshadowing?
SPEAKER_04Was that I mean that that is the way that they that they stretch. Right. But I was like, we gotta open those hip flexors.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure that's what he was thinking about. Well, MIDI probably is. But I it just occurred to me, I was like, oh Jacob, did you sneak that in there? Were you like, maybe you could do this stretch in here instead of just on the ice because maybe somebody will catch it.
SPEAKER_04Uh isn't this Isn't this when they get knocked out and then No, I think this is just a regular game. Well, not this one, but like this season. Is this the season where they get knocked out and then Ilya wins? Uh now I don't remember. Because if it is, remember their goalie was hurt.
SPEAKER_02Oh, right. That's oh, nice job.
SPEAKER_04So maybe maybe he's like doing maybe he's doing like extra like stretches. So Right. But Hayden, like a sweet angel, he corrected JJ. I think you mean much together. Much to his chagrin. He was like, I don't care. I'll fuck whatever.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I'm not, don't give me an English lesson right now. I'm trying to be mad for my friend.
SPEAKER_04He says, if you ask me, I will say Nishbu again.
SPEAKER_02Very weird. Nishve. Oh my god, I could love JJ so hard. So the worst thing in this scene for me, and you you know how much I am a Hayden Pike enthusiast, is the old timey reporter voice.
SPEAKER_04Oh, come on.
SPEAKER_02I think that's so endearing, though. So it's it's super endearing, but every time I'm just like, I have to watch with like one eye. I'm like, I don't know why. Like it gets to be so but and but he commits to it. He like he does it, and then Shane answers a question, and then he like comes right back at him, and I'm like, okay, all right, you the question is so funny, and the answer is so perfect.
SPEAKER_04It's so shane. Hockey is a what and nuanced game. A complicated, it's a complicated and nuanced game. But it's good if we uh score more fucking goals. Makes me think of this meme where it's just like there's like a it's a cartoon of them like interviewing some coach. And it's just like they're like, What are you thinking you're gonna try to do to win tonight? It's like, oh well, our goal is gonna be to try to score more goals than the other team in a short in the same amount of time, and hopefully they don't score half as many goals as we scored.
SPEAKER_01It's like, what the fuck are you talking about? Like, seriously, this is Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_04All right, good job. But it's funny, and it's cute to use using his little sandal. That's true too. Yes, it's endearing. It is we'll see. It is we'll take it.
SPEAKER_02I just coming in hot, old timey reporter Hayden. God love him.
SPEAKER_04But I mean, you gotta think too that they're m millennials with us. So you be yeah. So at that time, I mean, if you think like 2013, yeah, that kind of like I feel like you still heard about it. You know what I mean? Like I'm with you. Yeah. No, I'm with you. I feel like I'm just constantly trying to make excuses for the weird shit that's happening.
SPEAKER_02I love the weird shit. Let's be clear. The weird shit.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I know, I know, but I'm always trying to like explain it.
SPEAKER_02Um You're like, here's why it makes sense.
SPEAKER_04It makes sense, I promise.
SPEAKER_02I found this article, and this is why.
SPEAKER_04No, I just I'm just guessing.
SPEAKER_02All right. So so once we once he gets called by the coach or whoever to go into the interview. I feel like the camera angle that they did on Shane getting interviewed is like quintessential TV reporter angle of they just did it perfectly because I felt like I was watching an athlete get interviewed because the athlete was bad, the lighting was bad, you know, like just he looks young.
SPEAKER_04It's just yeah, it's it's like it's like what you see kind of like what you see in in real games, because what they have to do is, you know, the game ends, and then whoever is the MVP of the game or whoever is assigned to talk to the press, they have to take their shit off and immediately go and get interviewed. So the only thing that's missing here is that he's not like completely drenched in sweat and out of breath. Right. That's really the only difference.
SPEAKER_02The pregame as opposed to like post-game. It always weirded me out when they weirds me out when they interview them in their in the locker room, like half wrapped in a towel. I'm like, could we? Does that have to? Yeah. Is that just me? No. But it does have to happen.
SPEAKER_01It does.
SPEAKER_02I get I get like secondhand frustration that I'm like, let me live, let me put on. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_04But I also have to remember because I felt the same way, like, especially with like um the Olympics and stuff. It used to drive, it just, I don't know, it just always irked me when you would like see these people perform in these insane sports, and then they're not even they can't even go to the locker room. They have to go immediately and talk to you on TV. And I'm just like, every time I would be like, Will you just let these people go fucking change? Just let them have a I don't need to talk to them right now. I don't need to hear this. I don't need to know what they're thinking about what their mom was thinking watching them do this thing that they haven't even processed that they did.
SPEAKER_02Do you want to send any message to anyone back home? I don't even know what I don't know. Who's back home? I who's back home?
SPEAKER_04Where am I right now? Fuck you. Always, always looking for the clickbait, but always.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yes. Join the fucking club.
SPEAKER_04But he really he's such cute clickbait, though.
SPEAKER_02I will he I mean I've fallen victim, that is for sure. So we do get right after the reporter thing. We get the first fall 2013 Montreal.
SPEAKER_01So the month the fall 2013 Montreal happens before the interview.
SPEAKER_02I stand corrected.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So then we get we get our I thought that too.
SPEAKER_04I thought it happened before. And then I I have it going right now, and I was like, that's why I got confused. I was like, wait a second, where is it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Wait, I mean, well, and I I was expecting it right, yeah, like right after the montage ended. Was expecting like a new one, but where did it where did it end? Last time are we in the same it was spring 2013 was the last one. Okay. Yeah. So all right. So we're just, you know, quality check. Got a quality check. You know, because we're just we can't.
SPEAKER_04I think it's also I think it's also trying to show the continuity between the fact that they're they're constantly like competing. Doesn't matter. It doesn't matter when he's getting interviewed, he's getting asked about Ilya, he's getting asked about their their rivalry, he's gonna be asked about him no matter what. Yeah, yeah. And then we get to uh we get to the locker room and we get our uh we get our we get our first little little try.
SPEAKER_02Or a little go for it, a little attempt. So before we get into the text messages, he does specifically say to one of his teammates, I don't want to get distracted. It doesn't really help me focus. Incoming text message from Well, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_04He doesn't he does doesn't want to get distracted with those things. He's gotta be able to he's gotta be able to lock in if he needs to lock in. Right.
SPEAKER_02And then all of a sudden it's the distraction that you're actually looking for.
SPEAKER_01And we get how many times can you come in one hour?
SPEAKER_04Sir. Mr. Lots of Sex? You call Shane that, and then you're sending messages like this? Mm-hmm. And bless him, he wants to call it out at first. Yeah, we're about to play a game against each other, and then again, this goes back to what I said last time. What is the lily? And then you're gonna send a message like that. Like, y'all are not saving face in any way.
SPEAKER_02This is not subtle. This is not this is why Hayden knows that there's a Boston lily. Because you're doing this and you're making little like doe eyes into your locker.
SPEAKER_04Yep.
SPEAKER_02Not subtle, baby.
SPEAKER_04And you're panicking, the panic face. Holy panic face. Panic face. So cute. They show they show Ilya just watching his phone.
SPEAKER_02And we get another nose twitch from Ilya.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02So he it's very small, but when he when Ilya's waiting for the response from Shane, he's standing there and he does a little nose twitch, and then he does a little like self-soothe kind of like Oh, he does!
SPEAKER_03Oh shit, it's so little. It's a it's so tiny. It's so tiny. Oh my god, it's so cute. I'm gonna watch it again. Right?
SPEAKER_02But it's like, but he's that's like so such a perfect little moment of him demonstrating that he's like a little nervous. Like he's like, okay, what is he gonna write back? And is it is he gonna actually respond? So he is watching those three little dots move. And he wants it because he in his head, I feel like he's just like, I want I want you to be thinking about me because I'm barely thinking about it. He's like, this is a real question, Shane. This is this is an actual answer. The question, this is for science.
SPEAKER_04You take everything else seriously, and then this question, you can't just give me a fucking answer.
SPEAKER_02Just be definitive, but then bless him. So he wants he wants him to be thinking about him, rubs his little eyebrow. He's like thinking about we got Marlo's jersey in the background. Little, you know, he's gonna show up in just a second. And then Shane says, I don't know, maybe twice. And I swear, if we had to map the times that Ilya falls in love with Shane, this has to be on it.
SPEAKER_04But I love that Shane texts a bunch and then he stops, he puts his phone away, and he's just like, What do I say? What do I say? What do I say? What do I say? What do I say? What do I say?
SPEAKER_02And then he's like, I gotta go live.
SPEAKER_04How many times have you been there where you're just like I will be honest, I do not think through texts at all.
SPEAKER_02I am like a I just like answer. Or alternatively, I don't answer, and then three days later I remember that I should have. There's like no in between for me.
SPEAKER_04Sounds like you ain't been doing any yearning lately. Bitch, don't you call me on my yearning?
SPEAKER_02Please. Shit. Only only baby.
SPEAKER_04So he puts it down and then it and then he's like, okay, grow up, Shane. Grow up. Let's answer the question. You're a grown man. He asked you a question. You just answer the question. What's the answer? What's the answer? You know? Maybe twice. Who knows? You know? It's a t it's a toss-up. It's really like a situational thing, you know. We're gonna go with two. We're gonna go with two.
SPEAKER_02I feel that's conservative, but also setting expectations.
SPEAKER_04And then we get the most adorable smile from Ilya.
SPEAKER_02Just oh he is smitten kitten. Don't you punch me. He is smitten kitten and just could not he he can't flirt. Like Shane just can't flirt over text.
SPEAKER_00And Ilya just can't.
SPEAKER_04I don't know why I never noticed Shane is grabbing his mouth when it cuts back to him.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Because he's like, he said it and he's like, fuck, I can't believe I said that.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Such a such like a self-soothing thing, like holding his mouth closed. Like, no. Totally. And then he says you suck at sexting, because he does. He does. It's accurate. That's a fair assessment. Um and I love, I love that he says who taught you that word. That part, when I first saw that, that made me like laugh out loud because that's hilarious.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. Because it's also a legitimate question. Because he's like, wait a minute, I under I I know kind of where you are with respect to your English at this point. What the hell is going on? And why do you know that?
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_02That's legit, man. That's like a whole your mother.
SPEAKER_04I feel like this was the time when these jokes were starting to oh yeah, phase out.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Yeah. But still timely.
SPEAKER_04It's and then we got we got Ilya going right for right for the throat. Where are we meeting?
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm. We aren't.
SPEAKER_04He wants to know.
SPEAKER_02He does. He wants to know.
SPEAKER_04The people want to know.
SPEAKER_02People want to know. And Shane for a moment thinks he has the upper hand. And he's like, we're not. Fuck you. And then Ilya. I feel like this is like perfect emoji usage. It's just the tear. Just sad. He's like, I came all the way here. Yeah. I'm even gonna play this hockey game, and you know when to come.
SPEAKER_04And then we get it. If you're lucky, I'll text you after the game. And he puts his phone away. And he's like, That's it, you know? And then right as we get to Hold on. Mr. Mr. has to have the last word.
SPEAKER_03Has has something to say. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Are you going to be able to do that?
SPEAKER_04Are you as hard as I am right now?
SPEAKER_02Evil. Everyone together now. Everyone. In unison. Wherever you are listening. Poor baby. He couldn't do it. That's such a mean thing to say. What are you looking at?
SPEAKER_04Dude, watching this on like half speed is ridiculous. Is life changing? Yeah. So like he so he he sends the are you as hard as I am right now. And you see, you literally see Shane read it and react. Because like he reads it and then his eyes get big. And I don't know why and like never noticed that because all of a sudden he's like, What? And then he blinks and he's like, Oh fuck. And then he puts his phone away.
SPEAKER_02He's like, I can't. What if somebody's gonna see this?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he's literally just like, whoa my god.
SPEAKER_02Imagine if he had gotten a dick pic when he was in the locker room. I think he would have combusted. I think he would just would have.
SPEAKER_04I also love knowing that Ilya is hard right now. Yeah. And and Marley is like this Boston girl, or what is it, Montreal girl really works you up, brother? It's just like it's like Marla, do you see do you see his boner right now?
SPEAKER_02Or what is happening? Are you what's the reason you're saying this?
SPEAKER_04Because it's like you're straight up blushing Roz, and it's just like, okay, what kind of blushing are we talking about? Is this a euphemism? Be specific.
SPEAKER_02We need we need to know exactly what you are basing this off of.
SPEAKER_04Shut your idiot face, Marley.
SPEAKER_02Shut your idiot face.
SPEAKER_04I'm straight up blushing Roz, and he's like I don't, I do not blush.
SPEAKER_02Russians do not do this. Oh my god, I just paused on the prettiest kiss.
SPEAKER_03I have never blushed. Russians do not do this.
SPEAKER_02That's pretty good. That was really good.
SPEAKER_03I can do act.
SPEAKER_04I I can do accents. I just don't want to.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04That's fair. I I will. I'm gonna have to. Eventually. It's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02Well, once you start your your career in, you know, reading fix for peep readings.
SPEAKER_04Spicy fan fictions.
SPEAKER_02Woo-hoo! Watch out. She took his don't. I can't. I can't with you right now. I'm so uncomfortable. Okay. All right. Moving on. Do it. You know you want to do it. Just do it a little. Do it a little. Now you are blushing. I am. I'm blushing my face.
SPEAKER_03He says, never in life have I blushed. Russians do not do this.
SPEAKER_00They do not. Jesus.
SPEAKER_03Shut your idiot face.
SPEAKER_00Shut your idiot face, Marley.
SPEAKER_02And he's gotten caught. I'm sorry, but in that moment, I mean he boner patrol. He got straight busted by his teammate. Yeah. Marley, Marley was boner patrol. I don't think, I don't personally think that he actually had a boner. I think he was trying to get a response out of Shane. I think he was partially.
SPEAKER_04I think he had like a I think he had like a half chub. He said, Oh, I'm halfway there. This is funny because my husband's gonna listen to this and he knows how much I fucking hate Bon Jovi and he's gonna laugh because I hate Bon Jovi, and for some reason that song is always popping up in my head.
SPEAKER_03I fucking can't say it.
SPEAKER_02That's we're gonna dissect your distaste for Bon Jovi. I don't know there's not it.
SPEAKER_04That's I had no idea I have a whole spiel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, okay. Not I not know. I have feelings about Aerosmith, so maybe we can compare notes. They're probably similar feelings. They're probably similar. That is very true. All right.
SPEAKER_04So anyway, let's get past our disdain for classic rock. Oh Jesus Christ. Oh my god. So we cut two. We get um we get the hockey game. We get uh wait, who was it that won? Montreal wins. Montreal wins. Four to zero.
SPEAKER_01Although it's pretty fucking crazy. Three to four three three to four. Four, yeah. Three to four, four to three. Montreal. Four to three. Yeah, okay. I thought you said zero. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_04I pro honestly, I probably did. You probably did. I probably did. The amount of times that there's times where I will say things and I will look at Gerard and I'll say, Did I say what I think I said?
SPEAKER_02Tell me what I said. Could you read that to me? I just want to do a fact check. Could you thank you?
SPEAKER_04And six out of seven times. It's usually close.
unknownOkay, all right.
SPEAKER_04Or I've done the opposite. I've done the opposite. A lot of times I'll be like, don't say that. And then you say it out loud. Yeah, but it's also interesting here because Montreal wins four to three. But Boston has more shots on goal. Ooh, nice catch. Boston has 31 shots on goal, and Montreal had 26. So Ilya was Ilya was trying.
SPEAKER_02He was making the effort. He sure was.
SPEAKER_04Uh-oh, numerology. Yes. What's 31 and 26?
SPEAKER_02I was just gonna say we need our numerology friend to come in here and explain this to us because that that could be potentially enlightening. Yep. We could be missing a detail. So from the hockey game, we get Ilya in the alley with his walking with his phone, saying, here.
SPEAKER_04Here. He's like, where the fuck am I?
SPEAKER_02Where and then where have you taken me?
SPEAKER_04And I love that Shane was like, I'm here. Right here. It's like he sent the dice.
SPEAKER_02Delicious. I also love I also love that the door label is D1.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02Right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I'm like, you're about to get D1, buddy.
SPEAKER_04You're like and then the one next to it is F1. And it's like someone's gonna get F'd. Exactly. I'm sorry, but if that is not But I gotta see. Hold on, let's see. One, two. Oh. He sends the text message and it's not like from the moment you see his thumb press sends.
SPEAKER_02Not even two seconds before Shane has the door open. I have something to share with you. Shane has been sitting in that stairwell.
SPEAKER_03Oh, duh, of course.
SPEAKER_04I just wanted to make sure that's why I think it's so funny because it was like he's in there, and then it's like he's Okay. I just right here.
SPEAKER_02Jump scare. I okay, I just wanted to try to murder you. We were all on the same page that Shane has been sitting in the stairwell for minimum minimum 30 minutes.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Oh, he got home. He went upstairs, he made sure everything was perfect, and then he went right back downstairs and he sat right on that bottom stair.
SPEAKER_02100%. That is that is an accurate assessment. And he's been refreshing his phone, constantly looking at it.
SPEAKER_04And Ilya looks so fucking hot here. Like so good.
SPEAKER_02His the the cross is on full display. You get the little like the V.
SPEAKER_04I mean, we've had people talk about it. We've talked about it when they're in the room. It's one of the hottest.
SPEAKER_02It's one of the hot.
SPEAKER_04It might be. It's definitely in my top three. We get our our other vocal stem we love. You will murder me. You will murder me.
SPEAKER_02And Shane's like, maybe. Yeah, asshole. But I my favorite beyond the vocal stem is when Shane shoves him against the wall and he doesn't say it out loud, but he just goes, Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04He's like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_02And he's but he kind of likes it. He's like, oh God, he's pissed off. And oh wait, I had I underlined in the book, because you know, nerds. Um no, I underlined kind of like what he was thinking. I think it was in this scene. I can look for it if you need to, if you need to continue to grace us with your brilliance. But it was a part where basically he says like that he likes when Shane's a little bit like upset after games. And that scene kind of like portrays it really well, is that he's like he's a little happy that Shane's feeling feisty because he's like, Alright, this is Montreal goes home crying, even though they won.
SPEAKER_04So it's like you won. Why are you still mad?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, why are you so upset? What is going on? Alright, I'm not gonna be able to find it in time because that's just so like it's like you know, it's okay, keep going.
SPEAKER_03And then he says, Why do you try to sex me before the fucking game? And Ilya says, You were hard, weren't you?
SPEAKER_02Can't miss an opportunity. That little motherfucker, he just like he cannot miss an opportunity just to like poke at poor little Shane, who was sitting on the cold ass cement step waiting for him. You were hard. You were hard, weren't you? For how long?
SPEAKER_03Whole game.
SPEAKER_02Sir.
SPEAKER_04And he says, Fuck you.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Which is a yes. And he's like, You mazed me dating too. Oh my god. And the pull on the hoodie, so cute. And then the walking up the stairs, this is like one of my favorite like Ilya Shane moments. Okay. Like description and like embodiment of their exact relationship. Totally. Because starts out innocent, they're just walking, everything's normal. Shane's just like, we're going up the stairs. And Ilya can't fucking help himself. He's always gotta fucking antagonize Shane. And when you watch them running up the stairs, Shane is not laughing. This is serious shit. He's a serious competitor. But Ilya is cracking the fuck up. He is laughing. As soon as Shane started actually racing him, he was like, I cannot believe this fucking worked.
SPEAKER_02Even he is like, this is the best day of my life. This is amazing.
SPEAKER_04This is so cute. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02And I it also speaks to the fact that they're still young, that they're still needing that that part of the competition. And it slowly fades away, obviously. But it's a very it's such a genuine fuck you kind of moment. Um that yeah, like both their little like personalities and Ilya the shit stirrer. I think I found the section, but now I am wondering if it was wrong. It was about the um oh wait, here we go. So in the book, it's this is right after they had the text messages in the locker room. And the book says, No answer. Ah well, Ilya knew he was crossing a line with these texts, but it was just so damn fun to tease Hollander. He could just picture him now in the Montreal dressing room blushing as he shoved his phone into a bag or something so no one would see. He hoped Hollander was still mad about it later when they met in a hotel room. He likes a little angry Shane.
SPEAKER_04He likes to poke to poke the baby. Poke poke the baby. He poke the baby.
SPEAKER_02So we get into Shane's house, we get to see the infamous stairwell from a future montage. Um, I feel like that was purposeful. Yeah. It it makes for a nice shot, linear-wise, but I feel like it was purposeful to include the stairs. Um and we get to the show.
SPEAKER_04I think too, they do a lot, they really do try to do a lot of um, I don't remember what it's called, but it was uh that that really awesome chick that does the the camera breakdowns for the show. Oh yeah. I think her name is Valencia Valencia. Yeah, I think. Oh my god, so insane. The video is so good. But she was talking about how they did a lot of setting up to where the to create depth. So like they're purposely putting things in a place where it's like it's actually not that big, but right creating by putting things in a certain spot, you're creating more depth. So I feel like that's part of. I mean, this place is huge anyway, right? But I feel like having those stairs and that angle, it makes it seem like so much bigger.
SPEAKER_02Oh, totally. And you do get some reflections, so we get reflections in the staircase a little bit, and then even the marble on the far side, you get reflections of um the lamps, but no reflections of them in particular.
SPEAKER_04So it's just the only one of them that you see is Ilya's legs, like right.
SPEAKER_02It's like very little, and just in the stairs. To me, very symbolic of they're both just there with each other. There's kind of no pretense. Um, they're finally in the same place, same time. No other versions of them have to compete.
SPEAKER_04And then Shane starts trying to explain something that he was not asked to explain.
SPEAKER_01Honey, he's so nervous.
SPEAKER_04And I think it's I think it makes sense that they did it like this in the in the show versus what happens in the book, because I just think that what happens in the book is is is a very book thing to happen. Totally, if that makes sense. Like, and I'm not even really like a big bookish person, but I just in the in the concept or in the in the context of how the how the book progresses and and goes, like it makes sense. Absolutely. Something like that to me does not would not translate the same way like this. And I think that the way that they at least tried to like create something similar with him talking about how the place next door is empty. Right. Um you know, so like no one's no one's there right now. Um don't be nervous. Yeah, but I think that it should be said that in the book they at this point they do not go to Shane's house. Yes. In the book, which they it it was the plan that they were gonna go to Shane's house, but Shane chickens out and he ult they ultimately end up going, and the their first time happens in a hotel room.
SPEAKER_02Correct. And it's at the same hotel as Ilya's team, but just a different floor, which what is the difference? Really, dude? I mean, like they could be above you, like uh who knows, but whatever that's yeah.
SPEAKER_04Fu fuck you, Jane.
SPEAKER_00Good comeback.
SPEAKER_02Good job. So we do we also get the line um after Shane finishes explaining. Ilya chirps him a little bit and says, Mr. Businessman, Mr.
SPEAKER_01Landlord. Landlord. So good.
SPEAKER_02So so good. What a fucking dork.
SPEAKER_05We love dorks. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Sorry, what a fucking dork. Affectionate. Like, what do I have to do? I'll do whatever I have to do, so you guys know what I mean. Follow the rules.
SPEAKER_03Um all is all is full of love. Okay.
SPEAKER_02All is full of love. It always is. But you know, Shane says, shut up if you asked. No, I didn't. No, I did that. Then one of my favorites. This is one of my favorite close-up shots of Shane's face. First of all, A plus profile. Go team. Second of all, the following his eyes and how clear it is where his eyes look, and he I would swear that you could almost see Ilya approaching, whether it's a shadow or right, and you can tell exactly where Shane's looking. He goes, you know, from the eyes to the mouth because he's always looking at Ilya's mouth. And it's just this like lovely moment of the chirping stops and the transition to it just being the two of them and not rivals anymore happens.
SPEAKER_04If you watch it at half speed, show off. You can tell when Ilya starts walking towards Shane because he smiles just just so because like he he has it's not like a total straight face, but like he's just stare looking, and then all of a sudden his lips kind of part a little, and he's and he smiles just just a little, and then and then you see the darkness of of Lilia like blocking the the light, and then ah that's that was good.
SPEAKER_02That was that was I licked it. Whoops. That that was really that was really accurate, but again, a beautiful and Shane just grabs onto his face. Yeah, the face grab it's like the face grab is just lovely.
SPEAKER_01And and the like the thumb on the cheek. Like holding on for dear life. Come on.
SPEAKER_03But Ilya can't help himself. Mm-hmm. So they want me in the kitchen, on the floor, and he says shut in here, you idiot. Let's go, let's go have a pillow fight.
SPEAKER_02I almost paused it. I didn't because whatever for reasons, but I feel like the number of pillows was excessive on that bed.
SPEAKER_04Let's count.
SPEAKER_02Let's count them. Count them for me, baby.
SPEAKER_04Three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine pillows. And it looks like only two of them are supposed to be used for sleeping. The rest are decorative.
SPEAKER_02All right, listen. I get that it I feel like Ilya's right in this case. It's a lot of pillows. That's a lot.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I mean, it looks nice. So it's like I get I can but like we're not staging a house to sell it. I mean, although babe, babe.
SPEAKER_03Although go ahead.
SPEAKER_04Go ahead.
SPEAKER_03He plans on doing that.
SPEAKER_02Oh, he does. Because he's Mr. Real Estate.
SPEAKER_03Every time.
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_04Um they're like big square pillows. Yeah, I do like the big square ones.
SPEAKER_02Those are kind of fun. Um also Shane is a plant dad. There's a plant on the dresser. Does look a little maybe succulent family, perhaps.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02But I feel, you know, it's not getting much sun. Just saying.
SPEAKER_04But it's like he's got the like blanket on the edge of the bed, too.
SPEAKER_02I know. It's so good. There's also Like did you fold that? Like, I can't. I'm I wouldn't put it past him. There's also a repeat of the um remember the stair pattern from when he was coming down from the MVP awards? It was that very vertical linear. He's got that same thing behind his bed. Or on the sides, I should say. So it's not really like his headboard, but it's a very similar kind of wood design. Um to those stairs.
SPEAKER_04It looks like it looks like a a jade. Which is a succulent. So I'm surprised it's not dead.
SPEAKER_02I mean, I kill every succulent that comes into my house.
SPEAKER_04So I finally figured out how not to kill them. Do tell. You don't water them. Oh, like okay. Like ever. Like ever. Like fucking ever. Okay. When they're completely, completely bone fucking dry. Don't talk about bones in front of me. You put them in a bowl and you bottom water it. And then you just leave it in there for like 10 minutes and let it soak up the water from the bottom, and then you don't fucking touch it again until it's bone fucking dry again. I was like, you just said bottom water and I lost it. Bottom waters. It's true though.
SPEAKER_00I'm a child. I need to. You are. All right. I'm done.
SPEAKER_04All right. That was really easy. Someone hasn't bottom watered plants before.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. Do not. Oh, God help me.
SPEAKER_04Is Jen bottom watering you? Are we doing this right now? Do you I mean she knows a lot about laying pipes, so I would assume that she is experienced with bottom watering also.
SPEAKER_02That is correct. The bottom watering 100% laying pipes 10,000%. We love you, Jen. She doesn't listen to this. She's not listening. She's not gonna listen to this. So they he chirps him about the pillows. I hired a designer. Of course, you hired a little designer. Which I think is hilarious because then in episode five, he's like so embarrassed to admit that he hired a stylist. I'm like, well, honey, if you needed help choosing pillows, I'm pretty sure other things could have used assistance as well.
SPEAKER_03And he says, You think there is enough?
SPEAKER_02Such an asshole. Are we at this point? I feel like we're doing a dramatic reading of this.
SPEAKER_04But then he says, I can smell the cigarettes from here. And I love this because I I don't remember where it was, but I saw somebody post about it where they said, or who it was, but they said that the way that the interaction about the cigarettes goes is already a an indicator for where they how they've already progressed in their relationship. Ooh. Because if you don't care about somebody or what they think about what you do, if you if someone said, I can smell the cigarettes from here, you'd be like, Who fucking cares? Shut up. Right, right. But he says, I can smell the cigarettes from here, and Ilya goes, Ugh, I had one.
SPEAKER_02So it's like nagging husbands. Yeah. Oh my god, my heart.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So it's like already, they're already there.
SPEAKER_02He's already like, I'm worried about your health.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And he's like, I had one. And he's just like, You shouldn't be smoking. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Like that's just Yes. That's such a like lovely, that's such a lovely observation. That's so true. And this interaction. You shouldn't be talking. You shouldn't be talking. We've established how hot Ilya looks.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_02The next of that, and I turned over.
SPEAKER_04I had it paused, and it was paused on him. Like, I'm gonna throw up. He's so hot. It's disgusting.
SPEAKER_02I feel sorry. Natalie has to take a minute to Oh! I have it paused on the smirk too. I do too. I that's I just paused it on that. It's I mean, it's unfair. And also, presumably, behind him are curtains which are covering a window. So, you know They're probably just covering a fucking wall. Well, I know they're covering a wall.
SPEAKER_04I'm just sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. Suspension of disbelief. It's a window, it's a window, it's a window, it's got a beautiful view. It's got a beautiful view of Montreal. Holy shit.
SPEAKER_02Such a fucking mess. But this scene and the way they call back to each other. Oh I mean, d does Shane I mean, I think he floats. I think he floats over to him. And it's that meet in the middle, it's like neither one of them can locate the ground under their feet.
SPEAKER_04They just need to close the distance. Isn't it in the book where they sit where Shane says like he they don't even realize that he didn't even realize that they're like walking towards each other until they like until they like fucking collided in the middle of the room or something? Completely.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. And like he yeah, he he doesn't he goes to move and then all of a sudden they're touching. Um but just it and I remember when they released this before they released the show, and they released the scene without sound. Do you remember this? No, you don't because you Oh, I'm sorry. So it was either between episode one and two or even before the series started, this scene was leaked online. And it was released without sound, and everyone was like, What are they saying? The whole scene? Not the whole scene, but like from um from the like back and forth. Like looking back on it, I think it was from the not all the way back to like the pillows, but definitely like the cigarette exchange.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_02And the come here, you come no, you come here. And there were like people online who are like lip reading and they're like, I think it's this, and I think it's the but it was even even without the dialogue, the the connection that you see absolutely beautiful.
SPEAKER_04The physical acting is is just it yeah, transcends all of that. Oh my god. But it also, so the it's the you come here, like come here, you come here thing, and so we can also plug the uh bracket because you come here, beat I might open, I might knock. I know, can you believe that?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and some of those votes are getting close, y'all.
SPEAKER_04Well, and then it's scary, but you're brave, beat out WoW Genetic. So Wow Genetic's out, guys. Please don't be mad. I know, and I really liked WoW Genetic, I'll be honest. But I mean, I I'm here, I'm here for it. And then we got eight hours left on the you will murder me, and sir, I'm just a bellboy is which what do you choose on that one? It's neck and neck on that one. Is it? Yeah, what would you vote? I voted you will murder me. And I voted bellboy. The only reason why I voted you will murder me is because I feel like the like that what it was just like such like a fun like little quip. And so I'm just a bellboy is hilarious too, but I don't know. The you will murder me thing was just like some.
SPEAKER_02And I liked I liked the bellboy line because it was kind of like the first time that Shane fucking relaxed and was able to make a joke. And that just But it was just a show thing, it wasn't in the book. Eat a bag of clams, uh should we We should stop there because I feel like we don't have we probably don't have time to get into all the other stuff.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, good place to stop, and we'll you know, next time next time we'll we'll get do some butt fucking.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, totally super chill.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_04All right, so we are going to transition over to our next guest that we've ever had on the pod. And we are gonna talk some some fun numerology. So uh we'll see you guys on the other side of that.
SPEAKER_02All right, y'all. We are here with Liz and Nat and friend of the podcast, Lynn, all the way from Costa Rica, where I wish I was right now, because I'm in Boston. It was very cold today. Um I guess yeah, oh, it's terrible. I don't I don't recommend it. We are gonna talk numerology today because Lynn has done some of her own research and made some super interesting posts on threads about the numerology that she's found in the show. So we're gonna chat today about that. So welcome Lynn.
SPEAKER_06Thank you. Thank you so much for having me, guys. I'm so happy and excited to be here. Uh so thank you, thank you for considering me.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you're welcome. We're so glad to have you. I mean, as as total nerds about the show, I think that having you on and talking about you know what the numbers mean uh just can make it so much more fun because why not? Let's just let's just flush it all out. So yeah. Look for that. I know that for your posts, one of the first ones that I think I saw was when you were talking about the significance of uh 108. So I think maybe we can start there if you want to maybe talk to us about that. I mean, everyone knows I think we've seen it. That's where they're sitting in the um in whenever they're watching hockey. So let me take it away. Tell us about it.
SPEAKER_06Okay, this was is this one is fine because this one was like the first uh like clue that I got from the show that it I thought, okay, I have seen some patterns here, some like repetitive things, and I don't think these things are casual. I think, yeah, I don't know. In my head, there's more there must be something that that tells a story about the numbers that they use because uh it's funny that there are like um a lot that you can see, like in this case, the 10108. Uh it's we can see it like three times, I think. Oh my god, that is it. Yeah. I think yes. Uh yes, three times in fact. Okay. Because the first one is when they are introduced, like I think it's in the first uh episode, uh, when they are um just um getting to know each other.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they're watching each other at the beginning.
SPEAKER_06And um first we see Shane uh watching Ilya, and um he is sitting in that sit number, and then when we see Ilya uh watching Shane, it's in the same SID number, and then it's in episode two when they are in the Olympics, when they are watching uh uh Shane's friends that is uh figure skating. Yes, um yeah, uh there Shane is sitting right in the same uh sit.
SPEAKER_04What? That's wild, dude. When he got up and it it was the same number, I was like, get the fuck out of here.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so I I thought, okay, I don't think this is casual, or maybe it could be. I mean, I'm not saying that this is canon or that there was like a team of numerology people sitting uh creating the show, but um I thought that it was curious. So um I started looking at that, and actually I have here my post because I said, okay, this might not be coincidence. So if I'm looking down, it's because I have my phone in my hand.
SPEAKER_02Oh, please, we're constantly like looking at the TV and we're a hot mess.
SPEAKER_04I just I usually just have the the show playing and on half speed while we're walking while we're talking about it.
SPEAKER_06But okay, so I just wanted to clarify that I am not an urology expert, just a curious person that loves number numbers and loves uh here Gregory. So um I look for the number, um, I Google it basically. Yeah, and um well, Google said that basing in lovers and soulmates. Uh 108 is a sacred number tied to soulmates, and it says that uh it talks about uh divine union, karmic love, balance, and becoming one. And uh basically it's a bond that's chosen, evolving, and meant to transform you. So it says a lot, like in the first chapters, is like like they are telling us that this is going to be a great love story, right? Since the beginning. So that's something that I said, okay, I bought it. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god, my poor little, my my poor dead inside heart. Why is that so good?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and it's during like the parts when they're really like creating their like foundation. So it's like they're they're in they're literally in the right place at the right time.
SPEAKER_06Like that's fucking it was like wow, my knowing, because it's something that I said, okay, I think this could mean something, and in fact, it meant something. So uh that was like the first uh thing I posted on tracks, and um there were some people like oh, I didn't notice. Oh yes, I noticed, but I didn't know it has like a meaning or something like that. So I said, Okay, this numerology thing can be something, it could be a thing. Yeah, so I started looking for other numbers, jersey numbers, um, the room numbers, um many other things, and I found that all every single one of them has like a meaning uh related to the show, to the characters, or to the moment they're living. So I said, okay, uh if it is if this is like casual, it is so I don't know, mind blowing. Like it's pretty soon.
SPEAKER_04And I mean, we just we know well when we know that Jacob said that like everything was was like intentional. So it's like you have to you have to believe that they that they did this, but then at the same time it almost makes you feel like you're crazy. Like they're not they weren't just sitting there going like neurology, but like who knows? Maybe they are who fucking knows? I don't know. It's head canon, we choose to believe.
SPEAKER_06We choose, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I know that the show has made with so much care and love that I that's that's what I want to believe. That there is no like it this is not casual.
SPEAKER_02I I I I want to believe that there is a meaning behind this, so it feels like especially because they kept the numbers that Rachel chose in the book, that a lot of those are the same. Yeah, you know that man, that's a question for Rachel. That's a question for Rachel. Like the intentionality had to start with her in some respect. And she strikes me as somebody because that she would write, we're super.
SPEAKER_04Um we got rejected by her publicists.
SPEAKER_06Well, here we are.
SPEAKER_04We didn't realize she's just her her schedule is just too busy right now.
SPEAKER_02Right, but like she she chose all of these things, so I'm gonna I I'm gonna steal for a minute because I did look up some numerology based on the birthdays that Rachel chose for the two characters for the two characters.
SPEAKER_06Oh, that's a good one, right? I haven't thought about those ones.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so I only did the day, I didn't get into the like corresponding number for the month, but for Shane, the number so his birthday would be May 10th, 1991. Um so he's a Taurus for anybody who needs that information. And the number 10 is associated with leadership, pioneering, and uh limitless capabilities. Bam. Go Shane. Yeah, bam, yeah. Right, and then uh Ilya is June 15th, which is also my parents' anniversary. You're welcome. Um they're dead. I know don't talk about my dead parents. Don't don't make this a trauma dump because I will do it. Uh fuck off. Um so his being the 15th is associated with independence, being adventurous, magnetic, and challenging the balance of life between independence and family.
SPEAKER_04That's amazing. Accurate, right? And I feel like Lynn, I feel like that goes like so hand in hand with your two posts about their jersey numbers. Right. Because it's it's very that like the those numbers and like their meanings are very similar because it like like have I have your post open here, so it's like you have the 24 linking for it being steady and reliable, diplomatic, and it's just like man, that's okay.
SPEAKER_06That's Shane.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, absolutely, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. 100%, 100%. That is gay panic right there. Yeah. I mean, that is just a recipe.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and the deeply loyal is just you know, and explains too the way that the way that Shane feels about being on the metros. Yes. He just it's never.
SPEAKER_06I don't want to spoil anyone, but in the long game, I wasn't like, oh my god, please wake up. What are you doing there, dude? I know, dude. So bad.
SPEAKER_02I feel like we we talked about this right before we started recording about how you know we don't want to spoil anything about the long game, but at no point, if you don't know some of the major things that have happened in the long game, then I congratulate you on the rock you live under. Because how have you missed it? I'm I just I'm also not I don't we're gonna talk about it. Yeah, I don't care about spoilers myself, but I want to skip this part. Yes, forward. We'll put a little we'll put a little chapter marker.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, I mean, and and I know in the long game he was saying, you know, that he he did he expected to retire with the metros. And so like yes, it the loyalty and runs deep, yeah, and thinking that everything needs to be done like by the book, the right way, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, yeah, like in a way or don't do it, is like right, yeah, right, yeah, and then you see his mom late at the end of the s this season, you see her talk about loyalty, and like that completely tracks then too with the numerology piece. What you're not loyal to Boston? You would mean you would leave Boston. I am loyal to Gene.
SPEAKER_04What are you talking about? She's oh my god, oh my god. Oh my god, I love it. And then your next one, you talked about Ilya's number. Yeah, oh my god, that one was so But yeah, same type of thing, like how he is he's so empathetic uh and struggling, but continuing like pushing through the struggles, like that's literally what the number 81 is linked to.
SPEAKER_06It also says I I don't I don't remember if I added in the post, but it also says that reaps people easily. And again, if you have read the long game, oh my god, Ilya is like he sees someone and he sees like what they need, and he gives like the right words and the right uh I don't know. He's always like shaking if every single people around him out, and he rates them so well.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, in the whole series. And I know I know Natalie hasn't read all of the game changer books. Have you read all of the game changer books?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you have so he has them though, my mother-in-law bought them for me. I am reading.
SPEAKER_02But I I love that he keeps popping up as that character who just happens to like he just clues in on what everybody knows, and the main characters of the other books are like, How does he know? What why does he know?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I was reading, well, I I have read all of them, but in the in common goal, it's so funny because it's like Eric is like, how can these dude breathe the people so easily?
SPEAKER_02Like we are open books to human. It's like great, like why why would he know before I've even told anyone any details? Bless his little heart. So funny, and he's so nonchalant about it.
SPEAKER_06He's like, This is just who I mean, he just goes around sharing wisdom, and he doesn't even realize it. It's so funny.
SPEAKER_02No, he's so casual about it. Yeah, he's like, whatever, this is who I am. If you don't want to be perceived, don't walk by.
SPEAKER_04Are are all of the times that he's doing that post the events in Heated Rivalry?
SPEAKER_02It's during. They're like this. In between, yeah. Yeah, so it's it it does make sense.
SPEAKER_04Because it's like I'm wondering if he would like if he would get more empathetic and more in tune with people as time goes on, because I would assume that like him getting confidence from Shane and their relationship and stuff would like cause him to feel more.
SPEAKER_02I would say, without giving anything away to you, I would say yes, because probably the one that is closest to like the end, but and meaning the end, well, it's not the end now because there's another book coming out, but the Troy and Harris book. At role model? Role model, thank you. Look at her, she's on it. Um that one, it has crossover with the plane crash.
SPEAKER_04I saw that today. Somebody posted about that. They were like, why didn't you tell me? And I was like, I'm glad I saw this.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Now I know. Yes, and so it's I feel like that is definitely a you see a more empathetic side of him, and you see him kind of wanting to like let more people in than just Shane. No, yeah, without Shane. He's so he's so baby girl. Oh god, he's so baby girl. He's so baby girl. I love him, he's so delicate. Um, I do have a question, Lynn. Have you because I remember part of the reason that we found you is when we were 700 episodes ago going through the first episode, the elevator numbers. And some of them are skipped. And it's very peculiar. Did you look into any of the elevator numbers from the I try to do my homework?
SPEAKER_06Okay, because I I watch the the podcast that you talk about it. Oh and um I try to to like look uh what could it mean and those things. So I I have it here in my notes. Oh so it's funny because when we see like Ilya, he starts uh like his right in the elevator in floor number four, okay, and then he goes and stops in six, right? And there it is where he finds Yuna. Okay. And then when we see um like the numbers again, he is in uh floor, I think 11 and then goes straight to 14. Right. So I try to look a little bit um what this could mean. And uh so basically number four um in numerology means foundation structure and instability. So where is uh where like Ilia begins let's say like he lives in non-structure kind of way um he's going up to the first hookup with uh Shane so then six means love harmony domesticity and family stop stop that's rude is that's Una Yuna my there is where uh Ilias is Una so that's what I'm saying I don't think this is coincidence if it is I don't wanna know I can't think of my mind don't ruin it don't tell us we don't want to nobody just let us live in this moment what okay okay go keep going so basically he starts in a structure and stops have love or family where you and I is okay then we see that um so basically it's like before he goes to intimacy uh you must pass you must pass through family okay yeah okay okay so uh then we see like behind you now there is a number like starts with 14 something it's weird because behind her is like a number that you can see like clearly but we can see that it starts with it begins with 14 and um so basically um it's I think that this this is like a breadcrumb where he's going he's going to shame so we can see behind you now like the destination uh of Ilya so that's what I want to be there I'm never gonna be the same I'm never I am never gonna be the same watching this show I cannot okay so okay keep then he goes again uh into the elevator and we see that uh first the number 11 and 11 is a master number in in numerology is it it represents like a twin flame i don't know if you have here about the twin flame flame flame please oh yeah oh so and it means also a spiritual awakening energy so we see he stops there and then uh he goes to his final destination uh which is 14 and 14 means transformation movement and destiny so basically uh he goes from the stability love awakening transformation and ends in his new beginning it's literally the show it's literally the fucking show i would like to formally apologize for that episode where i was like i don't know do the elevator numbers mean anything holy shit i need fucking water every it's like a whole org in 10 seconds they tell us their whole story in those intense motherfuckers they always do that shit they always do that shit god damn sorry i had to open my seltzer i can't it's like when i when i look for it i was speechless i was like yeah wow yeah absolutely shook and then perfect to to like cap that off with because i have your post up about 1410 because 1410 you have here says it's linked to building strong foundations balance and emotional alignment love that grows slowly but securely and the start of a soulmate connection rooted in trust oh my god before going to shame but it all makes a little it all culminates together oh my god oh my god incredible just when I thart my thart just when I thought right it's fine I'm making up words now I literally just thought that we like every day you think that you can't find something new with the show and then I'm like I'm getting like full on brain melting are you kidding the whole show in like 10 seconds in numbers y'all I'm sorry the domesticity and the family thing that's the one that put me over the edge. Yeah so yeah sixth floor come on and yeah oh my god yeah I mean you saw us we lost we lost the plot for a second it's crazy it's it's crazy it's like I don't know I know that there there are people that don't like really believe in numerology or these kind of things but even though if you don't believe in numerology it's like do you believe in fun do you believe in behind do you believe in being entertained okay so take the mean and get your numbers behind I don't know take the right with us y'all I know I know that that society has tried to beat our imaginations out of us but I refuse I refuse I will not be held down no I will take my numeral nope oh amazing that is so fucking cool oh my gosh yeah oh well we have we definitely have to have you on again because the other post that messed with me was when you found the number three on the pillow in the cot when they were going to Shane's parents' house and I was like I literally said out loud when I was reading that I was like how dare you how how dare you find that number and that was so funny because I I thought that I have like stopped catching this like numbers all around I have seen it so many times that I I thought I think there is anything else that I can find in this show. It's like I have seen it all I know surprised I I haven't realized that little cushion uh near the window in in Shane's parents house uh and then I saw number three and the crazy thing is that it was with Ilia's color uh scene so I I was like okay this is not a coincidence if you see the cushion it has the same colors as the Boston feeders uh so it's it's yellow and black are you serious and that was the which catch my attention because I said okay they have a lot of memorabilia franchine from jerseys with the number 24 and everything but the only piece that you found which is in a different color Ilya's color is that cushion with the number three so I was like they already love him it's like he was already part of the of the family before he introduced himself as as Shane's there was already there was already a place for him he said and the funny thing is that at the end of the episode he's already part of the family eating pasta and he's at their table so he's like thank you for pasta thank you for pasta oh my god incredible well now now every time that we have we have one of these we're gonna have to be like dissecting numbers and you have to come back and talk to us because we're gonna need somebody talk us down and and then once season two comes out all fucking bets are off all bets are off watch out we're we're hunkering down everybody get in a bunker because shit's about to get real we are all gonna be so unwell so unwell oh my god the level of obsession that I have with this show it's insane is like hey hey what girl did you look at us dude did you are you in your basement right now while your children are sleeping all right oh my god it's bad it's but I think that it's not bad it's because of these things that we become obsession with up with the show because it's so good all these little details all all all these little things that you find finding every single rewatch is like well it's it's it's actual like real art that's like how I feel about it.
SPEAKER_04Right. So it's like yeah you you can con the the rewatch value is is just so like endless because you're you're a different person or you're approaching the content as who you are at the time because like there's times where I watch it and I feel certain things and then there's other times where I'm in a different mood and I feel other things when I watch it. Yep and so it's just it's insane to for that but like all of this with like the numbers like really I've seen it a million fucking times and you still had me losing my losing my shit like I can't wait I can't wait for this to be over so I can go tell my fucking husband because he's gonna Gerard you're no fucking way he's not he's gonna be like no fucking way oh my god it's amazing it's 2011 is how must it feel to be to be the people who made this show and be hearing how people are like still constantly finding new stuff and I just imagine somebody sitting there and like maybe it is numerology stuff and they're like oh my god they found it I can't believe they found it I hope so I hope so too I hope because that would be super rewarding to to know that somebody noticed the work you put in you know yeah yeah oh my gosh Lynn thank you so much yeah of course of course and you're definitely coming back yes yes so we will pivot and we are gonna again do something different. We like to change it up yeah instead of um thick rex we are going to do a little um small business spotlight um and we have these wonderful candles from our very sweet friend Will and his candle company Mount Washington candle company we both have one he sent one to us and he has this one and it's the cottage and it smells so incredible but yeah the little sticker uh it has a sticker on it that says stupid stupid canadian wolf bird approved with a loot on it um and they're you know they're homemade he makes them and based in Los Angeles but just smells incredible wild wild nettle moss moss fresh rainwater the rainwater it just smells so it's it's I usually gravitate toward a rainwater candle or the ones that are like fresh linen like kind of because I don't I don't really love like florals but this one oh my god it's so good I have the other one that he sent it's not the HR but it's Vespers and it's allows black pepper and myrrh and you guys oh my god smells so good I so the other one that I have is called the lumberjack and I'm I'm I know you're welcome and I might actually even like the lumberjack scent even more than I liked the cottage.
SPEAKER_02I try to save them both I use them in a candle warmer because I want them to last forever. Yep I did ask him if it was disrespectful to use a candle warmer and he said no.
SPEAKER_04Why would it be I don't know I mean I don't know it's better for the environment I want to respect the craft so I didn't want to like no you're fine okay I don't know but uh but Will's uh instru or his threads handle is eclectic thinker so everybody please follow him he's amazing um but yeah the cut the uh candles are are hand poured and you can find them I'm pretty sure he ships everywhere yeah uh and yeah so again it's Mount Washington Candle Company. What a cute name.
SPEAKER_02I know it's so good. And they're beautiful. They're just beautiful to like sit out even when they're not burning.
SPEAKER_04Yeah and I mean it feels good to buy something from somewhere other than like Bath and Body Works and Yankee candle.
SPEAKER_02Shop small y'all yeah so thank you Will we love you thank you for sending them to us we feel so special and yeah we love you everybody buy a buy a fucking candle from our buy a fucking candle from our do it yeah awesome so we can get into the yeats which we did not plan for after we did not plan we did so on the fly can we do ones on the fly I think so this is usually what we do do before we record is we kind of determine what they are so what should we yeet out um I'm gonna yeet out unnecessary drama around new fans yeah you know just like the whole concept of the show and the cottage and everyone deserving sunshine is that there's enough for everybody.
SPEAKER_04Yeah it applies to everybody. It applies to everybody space for everybody.
SPEAKER_02Yeah and as long as we're leading with kindness and leaning into the joy of the show we're gonna be good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah we can I was I was even talking to somebody about this um I think it was yesterday where it's like I always try to remember that every person that is in this fandom is at a different stage of their hyperfixation. Right because it and and it affects everybody differently like whenever I was in my insane hyperfixation at the beginning you know you really did feel like you were going crazy and absolutely and it it was I mean it led us to this you know if it wouldn't have been for the the fever dream which was all of that I probably wouldn't be sitting here put 100% stupid fucking face on the internet. Um sorry what did you do? I just hit my L it's a whole fucking thing. I'm a mess. Oh god oh god um uh but so remembering that everybody is at a different stage of their hyperfixation you have to you have to keep that in mind when you are on social media and interacting with people because we are gonna have that that brand new fan that just noticed that Julia does the little nose thing when yes every time you know and like I remember when we first found that and it was incredible. Yeah so just celebrate with everybody that's that's what this whole place is supposed to be about celebrate listen to each other make sure that you know everybody knows that they all belong and their opinions and their the things that they found and that they want to talk about we want to know about them. And if no one wants to talk to you about them come talk to us about them.
SPEAKER_02Come talk to us we want to talk I will talk to you we will yap for days we want to know we want to know all the things yes um so yeeting in I would say I have one if you don't have one go ahead go for it um so I would say is sharing those things that you find or sharing the positive ways that the show has impacted you because we did a post you did a post on your account and um we did a post today on the pod account about you know what has the positive impact been and how has it changed you, the people around you and I feel like next time we record we should share some of those. We don't have to share names or anything but some of the stories are amazing. Yeah and and you get nothing but love and support for the positive impact. None of it is weird nobody's judging on it because if it's if it's doing something positive then all you're gonna get is people celebrating for you and with you.
SPEAKER_04Especially was I mean not only reading what everybody was posting because all the everything was so amazing but going to people's profiles and looking at like what they look like where they're from what they've talked about maybe like how long they've even been active on threads right a lot of the people a lot of the people what they've posted talking about what the show's done for them is either the first thing they've ever posted or the first thing they posted in years. And it's it's just so cool to see that this show is is and the story and this whole th universe is speaking to everyone. Yeah. Like it does not matter like who you are where you're from like it all of that is is it it's like moot. Because there's like a common human denominator. Because at the end of the day we all want a happily ever after we all want to be loved we all want to feel like we belong and you do and that's what the show gave all of us.
SPEAKER_02Right. So warm and fuzzies how dare we end with feelings I know look at us do you want to like threaten to punch me or something would that make this feel better? No good I'm just I'm just happy I'm just a tiny happy baby.
SPEAKER_04Yeah well I'm just so glad that we're our we're really like working our way through episode two. We are nine minutes into episode two that is I mean we are making some good we might need some new math soon I feel like we're we're still good but we may need some it's a we've we went through a lot I mean I feel like I feel like the next episode we're gonna spend a lot of time on what Shane's doing some things and what Illy's doing and stuff thing things and stuff. We're probably probably only get through three minutes next time it's fine. Just three minutes everyone everyone dig in everyone focus you'll be fine all right y'all until next time goodnight Nat goodnight Liz good night night loons loons wolf birds cottage nation all of the things whatever you whatever you want to identify as you are welcome here. Hell yeah
