Welcome to the Nutrition Factor. I'm your host, Dr. Jimmy Steiger, and today's topic is going to be on calcium and glucose. If you or someone you know may be having issues with diabetes, whether it be type 1 or type 2, and or cancer of any type, this show can be very beneficial for you. So listen up, take note. Very, very important issue we're talking about today. And glucose is at the root of many problems out there in an unnatural form. So I'm going to talk to you about the different types of sugar first and help you have a better understanding about calcium and its role and how sugar plays a role in the human body. So, first let me start off by saying there are over 60 different types of sugar or names for sugar, shall we say. Some are familiar, such as high fructose corn syrup. Some names like mannose may not sound like sugar at all. However, it's really important to understand how much sugar you're really eating because having too much sugar has been linked to many different types of diseases in our modern-day culture. And most people are consuming tons of refined adulterated sugar, which is not healthy for the body in any way, shape, or form. The types of sugar are many, and there are different sources and names for these sugars. There are three types of monosaccharides, which means that they are the simplest form of sugar. There are also sugars that are made of combinations of these monosaccharides. Sugars made from two types of monosaccharides are called disaccharides. Glucose is a monosaccharide and it is widely found in a variety of foods. It is the most common form of sugar in plants. Glucose is the type of sugar that our bodies use for fuel. Yes, we need glucose as our primary source, and without it, your brain cannot function correctly. That's the reason I see so many people come to me on these keto diets, which are actually destroying their body because they're not getting any type of good quality fruit or glucose in our body at all. And no matter what form of sugar we eat, our bodies break most of them down into glucose, which is what our body uses to feed the brain. Glucose pairs with other simple sugars to form the disaccharides. Fructose is also a monosaccharide. It's a type of sugar that is found in fruits, honey, and some root vegetables. Fructose is the sweetest of all naturally occurring sugars, and fructose can only be metabolized in your liver. We have to be careful parents with feeding our children fruit juices that are not attached to the fruit itself, meaning they're adulterated. Most of them are garbage. And if you don't watch it, putting too much fructose in your child's body as well as your own can destroy the liver because it acts like alcohol when it hits the liver and destroys the liver early on. So please be careful with fructose unless it is in a raw fruit form. That way you have all the vitamins and minerals you need and the pectins that go along with it. Galactose is the third common monosaccharide, is made up of the same elements as glucose, but they're arranged a little bit differently. And galactose is mainly found as a monosaccharide in peas. We use a lot of peas and beans on our diets because they are very healthy for the body for most people. Sucrose is made of one part glucose and one part fructose joined together. Sucrose is naturally found in plants. Table sugar is sucrose. It's usually made from sugar cane or sugar beets. Now, sugar cane or sugar beets in a raw form is very healthy for the body because it's loaded in nutrients as long as you don't get too much in your body like anything else. However, when it's taken away from the sugar cane and processed, it becomes pure table sugar. It's an empty calorie, it's not healthy for the body. Lactose is the sugar naturally found in milk and dare products, and lactose is made up of glucose and galactose. Lactose produces lactic acid, which is needed for fermentation to make yogurt and cheese. You need a specific enzyme known as lactase to break down lactose into glucose and galactose so that your body can absorb it. If you don't have that enzyme, you are what we call lactose intolerant. And there are a lot of people like that out there, so be careful. I don't suggest any of my patients do dairy or cow's milk of any type. Why? Because it's a double-binded molecule. The body has to fight very hard to break it down and causes problems later down the road, usually in the form of asthma, bronchitis, and COPD. Maltose is made up of two glucose molecules bound together. It naturally occurs as the byproduct for breaking down carbohydrates. It's found in sprouted grains, and grains produce it when they break down starch to sprout. Now, let's look at natural sugar versus added sugars. So ultimately, the body processes all sugar in the same basic way. Natural sugars and added sugars have the same chemical structure, and natural sugars are the sugars that are found naturally in foods. Food manufacturers commonly add sugars to products, and this can make them extremely unhealthy and cause problems down the road, especially things like diabetes and too much adipose tissue added to the body. The difference is that natural sugars occur in fruits and vegetables that contain fiber and healthy nutrients as one. And there isn't usually a lot of natural sugar present in foods. Even a sweet fruit, such as an apple, for instance, has 19 to 20 grams of sugar in a raw form. However, it also has three grams of fiber as well as vitamins and compounds that may help protect you from heart disease and cancer, which is a big deal. We see a lot of this in our clinic, and we get people off of sugar of all type when it comes to metabolic diseases. A 20-ounce bottle soda, for instance, has 62 grams of sugar, which is not healthy. Sugar has no fiber that comes out of these types of sodas and no nutritional benefit whatsoever. The American Heart Association recommends no more than 25 grams of added sugar per day for women and about 35 to 38 grams for men. And they say that sugar should be limited to 6% of the total totally daily calorie intake. I don't go by that. So this is important. So the problem with too much sugar in the body contributes to all types of health problems, such as poor nutrition, which is first, because the foods with added sugars often take the place of healthier, more nutrition foods in your diet. So we eliminate the bad foods, put more nutritious foods in the body that the body can utilize correctly, more bioavailable, and the body knows what to do with it. Once again, as long as you're not eating too much, which causes weight gain, because it's easy to overeat sugary foods and drinks, because for most people they taste way too good, and most people have the discipline to put them down. Tooth decay is another big issue because sugar allows bacteria to grow on your teeth, and it also has the ability to form high triglycerides because sugar increases the amount of this type of fat in the blood. So, with all that being said, we have to be careful about the sugar that we eat, because the excessive amounts of sugar in the diet promotes the susceptibility to all types of bacterial disease and virus in the human body. Umberculosis patients rapidly improve when you put them on a non-sugar, non-glucose-based diet. Many years ago they learned that taking uh rabbits and monkeys were made immune by similar means. And uh there's many different pr types of proof have been founded over the years, and in one such case alone, in 1948, there was a dentist by the name of Dr. Sandler who put a news release out on just how toxic and bad ice cream was a contributing cause to disease in the human body. And he clearly showed by testing over 2,000 patients in North Carolina alone just how toxic and poisonous ice cream alone was for the human body. He had previously shown how glucose is the most potent offender of all sugars and undermining resistance, and that the natural glucose in the bloodstream formed by conversion of the body from starches or proteins is not the same as the synthetic glucose sold us in the adulterated foods. So he'd been studying this for many years and showed he had tremendous, tremendous results uh by improving the calcium assimilation in his patients by inducing them to eat no glucose or refined sugar in their diets. And by putting this out in wide-scale form through the newspaper, unfortunately, the American Dental Association arrested this practicing physician for practicing medicine without a license in a state where the medical practice law specifically stated that its restrictions did not apply to dentists. Isn't that amazing? Some uh malignant influence uh obviously was behind this, and it savors of the kind of justice we hear about in the old school dictator-ridden countries. So, really, who is uh dictating all this as we see it today and has been going on for hundreds of years? Um a another doctor by the name of Dr. Wiley warned the public many, many years ago that the makers of counterfeit foods had taken possession of the law enforcement agencies. They had seemed to have been entrenched well ever since they ousted him back in 1912, and Dr. Wiley was the first head of the Federal Food and Drug Administration, and he suspected back then this long ago, which is interesting, suspected that the glucose in modern-day diet, even back then, was a dangerous adulterant of food because it was a synthetic imitation of the natural sugars and made by the conversion of cornstarch by acid treatment in which all mineral and vitamin factors were destroyed during the synthesis of corn sugar. Now, Dr. Wiley stated that he thought the use of the word corn as a descriptive adjective was fraudulent for the new sugar or syrup as it interfered that there were natural products of corn. Corn syrup is no more corn product than olio made by the hydrogenation process of vegetable oil is butter. Both are really hideous insults to the intelligence of the food buyer, and the synthetic counterfeits deliberately designed to undersell the genuine products they stimulate. The glucose is a first-class adulterant to soft drinks, canned fruits, dried fruits, because it is so cheap and it puffs up the weight of the raw materials and it saves on using real sugar in one's diet. Raw cane sugar cannot cause diabetes in test animals or humans. However, glucose does. One form of cancer fails to respond to treatment until diabetic symptoms are under control totally. Synthetic glucose, therefore, may very definitely contribute to cancer of all types, and glucose causes low blood sugar as well as diabetes, and this state results in a predisposition to heart disease, brain fatigue, lassitude, overweight, irritability, high blood pressure, and even mental depression. I see all these in my clinic daily, and I can clearly tell you once we clean up their diet, we get the synthetic forms of glucose out of the body, and even fructose in many cases, and put them on a good quality eating program with the right supplement backing, you'll see all these issues here slowly go away. Glucose present with proteins when they are cooked results in a destruction of the most important amino acids, and they are methionine, threeO9, lysine, and tryptophan. Methionine and lysine are very important for the health of the liver. 3O9 is very important for the thyroid, and tryptophan is very important for sleep. And most patients have one of these three issues going on when they come into our office. We see it once again daily. Relatively small losses in amino acids are associated with drastic changes in availability to animals as well as humans. And calcium assimilation, too, is blocked by the presence of glucose, while some other sugars, like lactose, which is milk sugar, encourages calcium assimilation. Calcium has so many functions in the body, especially for the heart and the muscles, and it's really hard to say just how vital the importance of calcium in the body is. We know that it's ranked number two in the body for the human body for what you need. Calcium is number one for cancer, and we see a lot of cancer patients, and all of them that we see, at least 99% of them, are all deficient in calcium at the cellular level. And there's good reasons to believe that no type of virus infection can occur unless the calcium levels of the body fluids have dropped below a certain limit. No doubt, here's where the rel uh the relation of the soft drinks, uh sugary foods, including ice cream, to polio patients was found back in the day. And since vitamin P increases the calcium content of the body fluids, and it's uh easy to see how something as simple as orange juice is much better than isolated ascorbic acid to protect against all forms of uh sickness. And if you take orange juice by itself in isolated form, it's not so healthy for you. But if you take orange juice that's got all the nutrients in it in a whole pure pure food form, it is much healthier for the body than using ascorbic acid. We have to be careful nowadays because most of the ascorbic acid they're getting in supplements are being shipped from China, which is not healthy. It's uh not pure, it's not clean. It's made in a factory with thousands of different chemicals sprayed on the ascorbic acid. And when ascorbic acid is an isolated form without rooting and bioflavonoids, the bioavailable is not good nor healthy in the human body as well. Uh glucose, also labeled as corn syrup, grape sugar, dextrose, corn sugar, it contributes according to all types of positive tests and animal feedings as well as uh human feedings, um, and all types of human observation to cause brain fatigue, which is just the start of things like diabetes and later on in life, cancer. So we have to be careful because it also forms tremendous irritability in a lot of patients. We see this in children. Overweight children nowadays is unsurpassable. It's growing, growing, growing by leaps and bounds because of all the sugary foods they're eating. It also causes mental depression and it impairs the assimilation of calcium in the body. It destroys the vital amino acids if they're cooked in its presence. And calcium deficiency can cause reduced resistance to all forms of infection in the human body, and it can cause the loss of teeth by decay or pyrea, and can predispose to a long list of many different chronic diseases, including, once again, arthritis and cancer again. In the 45 plus years I have studied and researched nutrition and chemistry in my own clinic as well as with other doctors around the country, I have never seen one American patient that had sufficient amounts of calcium in their body develop any form of cancer. The patient is always calcium deficient. There are other minerals that go along with fighting and preventing these diseases as well, especially cancer. Three of those that are most prominent are selenium, platinum, and germanium. We look at all these when we do testing on our patients. However, once again, calcium is always first. So if you're getting tested or trying to find out your levels of nutrients, make sure they test you for all these things, calcium being number one. Then ask them to look at selenium, platinum, and germanium. These all help to destroy or eradicate cancer from metastasizing or growing in the human body. The primates in the jungles know better than to eat poisonous fruits and insects. They have learned the hard way since the beginning of time. Do we as humans have to do the same?
