She focuses on qualitative and mixed-method research regarding crisis, risk communication and associated health outcomes, such as vaccination perceptions and water crises.
Dr. Day earned her PhD in Communication from Wayne State University. She examines crisis, risk and health communication, specifically looking at how people interpret risks and make sense of crises, including pet owner safety during disasters, vaccine communication and environmental hazards.
