Hi there. Thanks for checking us out. We're a mother-son collaboration. I'm a retired tech exec that loves interviewing people.
SPEAKER_00I'm a broadcast engineer for Disney and ESPN who also used to interview people for a living. So we decided to bring our expertise together to make this podcast.
SPEAKER_01We want to shed light on people's journeys to retirement, as everyone's story and path to it is unique.
SPEAKER_00We were excited at the idea of creating this podcast as we feel that retirement can seem like a lifetime away for some, especially in my generation. So after listening to our guests who have successfully retired, I realize planning for it doesn't seem like such a long shot, and more like an attainable goal. Because with the right tools and mindset, someone like me in their 30s has the ability to set myself up to have a successful retirement just like our guests did.
SPEAKER_01What do you do when you begin to think and plan for retirement? It's a question I kept asking myself. Then one night, sitting with friends around a fire pit, they encouraged me to do a podcast, and the idea of next chapter conversations was born. I began interviewing friends who were ahead of me in the retirement journey. What I found during the conversations was that each person has their own path and process. I hope this podcast inspires you to plan, dream, and love your next chapter. Unless you win the lottery or inherit a ton of money, most people need to plan decades ahead in order to secure a comfortable retirement. We talk about the financial, psychological, and the emotional aspects of retirement. Taxes, healthcare, lifestyle choices, as well as relationships with friends and family. You've worked hard for this next chapter, so how do you get the most out of it?
SPEAKER_00We have an array of guests from software development, big data, sales, HR, MedTech and Pharma, marketing, a CEO. I mean, we even have a school bus driver who was able to retire. As we had these discussions with our guests, we were able to get a sense of their planning process, the decisions and the mistakes they made along the way, and how they're now thriving in retirement.
SPEAKER_01We hope you enjoyed these conversations as much as we did making them.
