Matt Purkey is the host and producer of Wilmington Weekly, a podcast covering Wilmington, Ohio city council and local government. Before starting the show, Matt spent ten years on council, including the last two terms as council president, stepping away from elected office at the end of 2025.

That experience shapes how he approaches each episode — but Wilmington Weekly isn’t about relitigating old votes or governing from the microphone. It’s about translating what happens in council chambers into plain language, adding context, and asking the questions residents deserve answers to.
