This week on 2 Guys No Credentials, we kick things off with Zoology for Morons and immediately lose control. Somehow, sloths become bugs, seahorses become water, and dolphins become ocean dogs with serious legal problems.

From there, the News Desk gets weird. We get into political campaign slogans that probably needed one more meeting, Connecticut embarrassing itself again, too many Dan Sullivans in Alaska, Morgan Wallen throwing furniture, and Kevin Durant trolling Angel Reese.

Then everything spirals because of a missing sauce packet.

A bad takeout order turns into a full-blown conversation about fast food, living wages, student loans, college, housing, corporate taxes, government intervention, and whether America killed the idea of an entry-level life.

Two guys. No credentials. Lower your expectations.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome to Two Guys No Credentials.

SPEAKER_02

We're two completely unqualified people talk about nothing. And everything. Like we know what we're doing. Spoiler, we don't.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. We might get arrested. Um Jesus. All right. Well, we're here, and we're gonna just skip the cold open and we're gonna play everybody's favorite stupid game, Zoology for Morons. Are you ready?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I'm so ready. All right, there's just a couple of rules. Um man, what are the rules? Oh, it's it can only be dog, cat, water, or bug. Or bug. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

All right, four rules dog, cat, water, or bug, and you have to defend yourself. Are you ready? Yeah. All right, I'm I'm giving you an easy one. This this this first one's just a real quick one. It should be easy. Oxolotl. Dog. Dog.

SPEAKER_01

Why dog? Because I don't know what that is. Really?

SPEAKER_03

You've never seen an oxalander? Wait, isn't that is it that um that like translucent salamander?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like the weird salamander with the like the big smile. Yeah, I never knew that that's actually what it was called. Um I my friend actually had one of these. Uh shout out to Joe if you're watching. Uh he has a pet, uh, one of these, and um, it is definitely water. Oh, it's water now.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, all right.

SPEAKER_01

For sure, water lives in the water, is clear like water.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they're different they're different colors.

SPEAKER_00

Hmm.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know, I don't really know it. I think it's a bug. You think it's a bug?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's just weird enough to be like, uh, this is a bug.

SPEAKER_01

I mean it's very alien-like, and most bugs are like aliens. Right, exactly.

SPEAKER_03

All right, well, okay, here's the next one. Um from down under koala. Asshole. Alright, so we might be in agreement on this one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, koalas, I from what I understand, are huge assholes. Yeah, like bigger than the assholes on in space balls. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, um, I th I think koala for me probably is more like dog. Dog? Alright. I'm gonna go with cat.

SPEAKER_03

Cat? Yeah, because like they look made.

SPEAKER_01

Like they look like they want to be pet, but they'll fuck you up. Yeah, however, sometimes they do the cuddly thing. Like a dog.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, cats do that too. They'll cuddle and then they'll turn around. Cats can do that. Yeah. Cats cats are huge assholes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, cats are assholes. Yeah, cute assholes, but they're assholes. Yeah.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_03

Um I had trouble with this one. Sloth.

SPEAKER_01

I I think I think sloth is mostly bug. It's mostly bug? Yeah, because this is a tough, this is a tough one. Yeah. I think sloth is bug. They spend almost all of their time climbing or hanging on trees, and they have like other they're like moss and shit growing on them. That just seems very bug-like to me.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

They don't really bother anyone, which honestly, like most bugs, if you think about how many bugs there are, most bugs don't really bother anyone.

SPEAKER_03

This is actually this is great. This is good. I think you solved it. Yeah, you like that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I love this. Yeah. Um obviously everyone knows bugs that bother us. Masqueats, very troublesome. I think you're pronouncing very troublesome little fuckers. Masqueets?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think, I think, uh I think you're pronouncing that one one wrong. Okay, well I mean, agree to disagree. I I agree to disagree. I've got to interrupt the game real quick. Um I just got a text message from Paige and she sent me what I think to be is a stand-up fan. I'm not sure. Yeah. I think she wants to buy it, so I'm just gonna say, yeah, looks cool. It's a good mask wheat deterrent. If it's a if it's a stand-up, that's a mask. If it's a stand-up fan, I'm I'm all for it. If it's something like a barbecue, I don't think it works. Uh I wish I I wish I could share this picture with you. Uh all right. Uh seahorse.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. See, these are tricky because you want something that lives in water to be water.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But I think they're bug. It's a bug? I think it's bug.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I think it's water. You think it's only water? Only water. I think it just floats around and does its thing. To be honest with you, I don't know anything about a seahorse. Uh. Except that, you know, their face looks like a horse.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I think whoever invented them really missed on that one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Uh Jesus was definitely high when he came up with the seahorse. I mean, he did also invent marijuana. Well, he invented marijuana before the seahorse, that's for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, definitely. Definitely. Because like the seahorse, like, they have like a curled up tail that really doesn't do anything. Like it helps them dart in the water a little bit, but really it's just this move all day. All day it's this. Right. They're like stuck. That's why I went with water. Yeah. We're, I think actually, you might be good on water here, could be cut for that reason. Um, and this whole part of this segment's gonna play real well on Spotify.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, they're all gonna get to see you go. Uh, yeah, but uh, I think a seahorse is water because I feel like they just they literally go with the flow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they have to. They're they have no other choice. If they could try to swim against current, they'll just die of exhaustion.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and some marine biologist named George is gonna comment and be like, no, they actually can move really well. All right, all right, George Costanza.

SPEAKER_01

You're making it angry that day, my friends. Yes, it was. Yeah. Alright. Kangaroo. Oh, another down on the yeah. Uh so they could be assholes too, but I don't think they're cat-like assholes. No, I think they've gotta be dog.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I agree with you. I think they're a dog. I think they're like an aggressive dog.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're like your Doberman.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. No, Dobermans are sweet. I don't know. Dobermans are sweet dogs. They're very misunderstood. And I think it's because of the cropped ears, and they like, they're just like stare off into space. They don't like uh, I don't know, engage with the environment.

SPEAKER_01

Are there really any actually aggressive dog breeds? Uh or is it mostly nature, uh nurture versus nature there?

SPEAKER_03

I think I don't I wouldn't want to say a breed is um aggressive, but there are lines in each breed that are more aggressive. Like there are pitbulls that are bred because of their aggressiveness for like other animals, and that's why you get a lot of pitbulls who are dog reactive, dog aggressive. Um but like I think I think any breed can be aggressive. I mean, I saw l last week a golden retriever that wanted to kill everyone.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, very unusual for yeah, really strange.

SPEAKER_03

But I mean, uh, who knows what happened? It was probably happened at the bet. You know, uh yeah, it could be. And it got ruined, but who knows?

SPEAKER_01

It's uh it does annoy me sometimes when people are like, oh, my dog doesn't bite. Yes, it will, it has teeth. It will. Like if you do, if you like if you do try, like do something to piss it off, it will bite you. Um, most of the time that's the human's fault.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I've always thought. My that's the whole thing. Like, my dog's not gonna bite, it won't bite. And it's like, well, it has teeth and it can't communicate. Yeah. Like, so we're gonna go to like being fearful to growling to biting. That's that's that's that's the uh the that's the only way they can communicate.

SPEAKER_01

And that's okay. We have to be smarter in communicating with them on understanding their behavior, and maybe don't never mind. Don't stick your finger near the asshole.

SPEAKER_03

Uh is that how you guys solve your dog problems in Buffalo? Just stick your finger in their butt.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I am not sure if that is uh something everybody does. Uh I know that that would make me bite somebody.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, probably. Especially if I didn't know you. All right. All right, breeding first. But uh so kangaroo, I think, is a dog. Also, if we had a subcategory or an extra category, I would say it was a deer who discovered CrossFit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, dude. Uh kangaroos are jacked. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

All right. Um this was a fun one for me. Penguin.

SPEAKER_01

Penguin. Oh man. Uh I definitely not cat, I don't think. No. You can make a case for water because they spend a lot of time in there. I think they're more like dogs, though. Very social.

SPEAKER_03

They are very social.

SPEAKER_01

They like to cuddle. Yeah. They and they they mate for life. That's the partner for life.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. They're the ones that do the rock as a gift.

SPEAKER_01

They do a rock as a gift. Um, they also share duties keeping the egg warm. That is cool. All right. Dog. Water?

SPEAKER_03

Dog. Oh, they also steal other people's rocks. What? I'm pretty sure they'll steal other people's rocks. They'll be like, oh, yeah, that's a nice rock. I'm taking it. Yeah. So maybe they're maybe they're humans. That is awesome. That is a cool fact to know about them. Yeah, I like penguins. All right, last one. Everybody's favorite aquatic sexual predator, dolphins.

SPEAKER_01

Uh oh god, I think I think they're dogs too. They do tricks, they like treats, they like communicate. Um, somebody in Florida married one once. What? That's a real thing. No. Swear to God.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

All right. That was like 15 years ago, maybe 20 years ago, this dude married a dolphin.

SPEAKER_03

Well, there's people burying cars and bridges and fences, so why not a dolphin, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna have to circle back to that topic. Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, yeah, I'm gonna agree with you, dolphin. Uh, fun facts about dolphins, they also eat fish from the aquarium.

SPEAKER_01

Hilarious. I I don't that it's it's so funny to me. I don't know how to express it, right? It's hilarious that these these facilities dedicate their life to aquatic animals and conserving them and taking care of them and appreciating them. Let's just take these shitty fuckers and feed the other ones. Come on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, that's what the shitty fish are for.

SPEAKER_01

I guess. I feel like they'd also like a burger. Like you're gonna give them some meat. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Do you think uh you think a dolphin would go for that?

SPEAKER_01

Little frozen packets of wet dog food? Little cubes of it, for example, they'd love it.

SPEAKER_03

So you're gonna feed an ocean animal land food.

SPEAKER_01

Um, well, they're dogs, so yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Uh you're right. They're dogs, so they can eat dog food. What was I thinking? Um, all right. Well, that's that's it for my animals. You got any that you you've been thinking about?

SPEAKER_01

Um, you know, not recently. We've uh we the last time we did this, we covered a lot of the really good ones, I think, that are kind of in the middle. We did the platypus, for example. Yeah. Um, my favorite marsupial. I'm good.

SPEAKER_03

All right.

SPEAKER_01

That's always a fun game.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I really enjoy this. Um, it's a lot of fun. But um let's do some news. All right, what do you got? Oh, uh, well, uh down in Texas, uh James Talerico recently started a new campaign initiative. It's not right versus left, it's tops versus bottoms. So apparently nobody considered the nobody considered the double entendre.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, how does that get past? I know I know that they are like a real like a pretty religious camp and their mind doesn't immediately go there, but like nobody spoke up.

SPEAKER_03

This is a good point, and that's why I think politicians need one gay friend and one deeply immature straight friend in every strategy meeting.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. Someone's gotta see the angle and see the what's coming around the corner here because this is about to be amazing.

SPEAKER_03

What's coming around the corner?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you gotta be able you gotta be able to see like where that's gonna lead.

SPEAKER_03

Well, the bottoms aren't gonna be able to see much from where they are.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they they don't they don't have yeah, they're on the bottom face down. Yeah, yes, all right.

SPEAKER_03

Um so uh a little bit on the same vein, but um a little more disgusting in Connecticut. Here we have a Republican named Jordan McCormick. He's running for state rep in Connecticut, and he recent recently posted a horrifying message stating happy straight month and basically wanting to get rid of all the LG, the entire LGBT community. And wow, what yikes? I don't even know what to say, except what a disgusting, disrespectful idiot. Like it's as simple as that. I mean, really. What what? He was also on a pretty um uh uh like well-known news show in Connecticut, and the guy asked him, like, do you think these people should be put to death? And he basically said yes.

SPEAKER_01

Jesus Christ, I think he should be put to death stoned in the fucking street.

SPEAKER_03

I know. I don't understand. Like, uh, like what happy straight month? Uh like uh what every month is straight. Every month is straight. It's fire was invented. We have straight month. What what are we doing on June 1st here? Like, are we disrespecting an entire community? I just don't get it.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I I don't I don't get it either. What I also sometimes think about, there's no way everyone working on this campaign just unanimously agrees with these things, right? Like they're just writing coattails until they can get to the next job. Right. Do you think they actually all genuinely believe there should be straight month?

SPEAKER_03

Uh exactly. But also, if you do, like, are you like my like distant uncle from his lawn chair, like just shouting at people happy straight month? Like, what's going on here?

SPEAKER_01

I I don't I can't, I just don't the uncle from the lawn chair. I can just the imagery there is just like sitting there with obviously a Budweiser, a Bud Heavy.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. I just don't understand. I well, so I like I really hope there's been a bunch of Republican people um who have come out and basically were like, we're not with this guy, which is great, but I would like to see every single Republican, Democrat, Communist, Green Party, libertarian, fascist, everyone come out and be like, come on, guy. Like, can't we just like let them have let them have Pride Month? Like, I'm not I uh I don't give two shits about Pride. Like, I I could care less. Like it's Pride Month, great. Like, have at it. I'm not a participator, I'm just not, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you're still an ally, you're not against it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I wouldn't even call my an ally. I'm just saying I'm here. I got some gay friends, I get some bi friends, right? And like do what you want. Like, good for you. You're yeah, just be happy and don't hurt anybody. That's my thing. Yeah, like do you want to do that? I consider that that an ally. All right. I like I said, I don't like to participate, so but I just don't get it. Like, you want to be a state representative, and yet you want to just come out and say, fuck you guys to this entire group of people.

SPEAKER_01

I I you might that this is where it gets so uh infuriating because I think we were starting to stifle a lot of these, like I you I'll use the term crazies, uh, because I think this is crazy, but I I think we were starting to stifle a lot of that, and like some of the rhetoric that we're starting to see now, um like through through Donald Trump, I I think has brought a lot of this out of just being saying whatever the fuck they want, and it's just insane to me.

SPEAKER_03

Uh like so. I don't want to get into a full debate, but I sort of agree with you. But bear with me. This is what I think. I think people got really tired of like during the Biden years, like the trans stuff, the gay stuff, like all the LGPT, the pronoun things, and people were tired of it. They were like, we don't can't we just go back to like people just living their lives? And I think certain people, like this asshole Jordan McCormick, saw that as well, you know what? People are against it. So what if I took that two or three steps further and they'll get behind me? And I think that's where this is coming from, and you're starting to see, and it's like, guys, like, you know how the pendulum swings one way? Like, it's like let's not swing it all the way back and like let's get some balance here and say, hey, live your life, don't hurt people and be happy, but don't expect me to change what I think to make you feel more comfortable because I don't care how comfortable you are. Don't I don't give a shit. Just live your life. Why what's wrong with that? You're uncomfortable everywhere. Yeah, that's true. Uh, but like, can't we just do that? Like, does doesn't that seem fair?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I yeah, I I think that it I think that ultimately that that's kind of what the goal is, that it's all just normalized, right? That the balance is that everyone is disrespectful of each other. So I think you're absolutely right. It's the pendulum swing and it's the overcorrection. So I think that you end up now. Do I think we went maybe a little bit hard in the paint on um like the the pronoun issue and um uh trans rights, like well, maybe not their rights, they deserve rights, but um uh the the rhetoric, I I mean the rhetoric surrounding it. Um may like maybe we could make that that case, but it's in a response to people like this. And Like having to kind of do that and kind of having to force the the issue and make it a big talking point to try to achieve some of that balance and then it swings the other way. I don't know. I just can't ever can't we just bill and Ted this? Can't everyone just be excellent to each other? Yeah, just be excellent. So just be excellent to each other.

SPEAKER_03

Even though I don't really care about it too much, just because of this guy, I'm gonna say happy Pride Month to everybody out there who's celebrating Pride Month. Happy Pride Month. Enjoy. Um, enough embarrassment from Connecticut. Um more politics, because you know how much I love it. Uh the Alaska Senate race. Uh, it's really heating up. Two GOP challengers rise against Dan Sullivan. The only problem, they're both also named Dan Sullivan.

SPEAKER_01

That is so has that ever happened before?

SPEAKER_03

I I don't know, but it should happen a lot more. Yeah. But it's not a Senate race, it's like a Scooby-Doo hallway chase. Like the best thing is how do you attack your opponent when his name is also your name? Dan Sullivan is wrong for Alaska. I'm Dan Sullivan, and me and Dan Sullivan approve this message. Don't vote for Dan Sullivan, vote for Dan Sullivan.

SPEAKER_01

You're right. You absolutely cannot do smear campaigns. Yeah. What do you do? This is also this is a nightmare on the ballot for everyone. Like there are gonna be so many people voting for the wrong Dan Sullivan that this is you almost can't even count this race. Whoever wins, they might as well share it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's actually like a power sharing thing, like a triumvirant. Yeah, yeah. I I like it. All right. Um, so I'm just gonna ask you can you please save us from this news desk before another Dan Sullivan appears?

SPEAKER_01

Sure. Um okay, so we we have a problem in this country. That's an understatement, and his name is Morgan Wallen. Oh. I don't know what it is about this guy. I fucking hate Morgan Wallen. He's such a little baby douchebag racist. He's such a loser. All of his music is just derivative of what every single country artist has ever done. For some reason he's popular, then he won't stop throwing shit. Like, was he last year or two years ago? He threw a folding chair off of a roof, got him big trouble for that. Just this week, he's on stage playing a little piano, and it's it's not working the way he wants it to work. So he gets up and he just shoves it over. It was a wall piano, this big piece of furniture. He just shoves it over. And then the audience is like, like half of the audience was like, oh yeah, rock and roll. And the other half was like, fuck's this guy doing. And I'm like, can we just stop throwing things? Right? He's basically like he blows, he sucks at writing, he's basically the angel Reese of country music, which is funny because all the shit they both throw ends up nowhere near the basket. Uh I don't even know who Morgan Wallen is. Exactly. Can we stop giving this guy attention? Please, for the love of God, he just put him right, he put him right in the same category as Logan Paul. Let me just stop it with this guy. I've had enough. There are artists out there that are actually doing things well. Now then we got to hear about this guy in the news because he won't stop throwing furniture.

SPEAKER_03

I you know, I'm a little worried about this take right now. Um, because most likely the people who like want Morgan Wallen would be the type of people who would listen to us.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, one of our very good friends, a huge Morgan Wallen guy. So, Donnie, hit me up in the comments. Uh God, I can't stand it. As someone who plays music, how absolutely difficult it is to write amazing songs and then have yourself be known for that. I like I've never done it. It's hard to do, but then we just keep giving this guy attention because he won't stop throwing temper tantrums. It pisses me off so much.

SPEAKER_03

I have no idea who this person is. No clue. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Good. You're lucky. Imagine Angel Reese, but country music. So, like Beyonce? Not quite. Well, yeah, that's pretty, that's pretty good too. The um it's just somebody who thinks they are so much better than they are, but still has a ton of fans, and I don't know why, because everyone else in that sport or that genre or whatever is like this guy blows.

SPEAKER_03

All right, well, Morgan Wallen, stop throwing things. Morgan Wallen. Is that yeah? Yeah, stop throwing things.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's just it's annoying, it's so annoying to me. Speaking of Angel Reese, real quick, um, she does still suck at her sport, and I think it's awesome. My favorite thing right now is Kevin Durant won't stop trolling her on Twitter, and it is he is so good at it. Have you seen any of this?

SPEAKER_03

I have, and it's so funny. And I always wondered, is this really Kevin Durant?

SPEAKER_01

I I think that it is, dude. My favorite one of the week was she tweeted herself, um, I'm chasing MJ, Michael Jordan. Yeah, and he retorts back in what best mustache?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. Anyways, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for yelling.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, please yell. Do it. You never get upset. All right. Well, uh, what do you think? Is it time to make things personal? Let's go make it personal. All right, let's do it. Um I bundled my things I hate and my weekly regret together uh today. Um, and it'll it'll make a little, it'll, it'll make sense. Um, but I hate messed up takeout orders. Like, I just don't understand it. It really annoys me. You go you every time something's missing, something's wrong, something's cold, it's upside down. It's just always emotionally disappointing. So last night we decided that we were gonna try Dave's hot chicken. Like we bought into the hype, everybody's talking about it. It's brand new, and we're like, let's try it. It was garbage. It like it was over seasoned, it wasn't good, but they forgot my sauce. And they forgot her sauce, and it's chicken. Like you dip chicken in sauce, like it's chicken fingers, you know? Yes. And if I'm paying you $51 for chitty chicken, my sauce should be in the damn bag.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_03

Don't you? Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

But why you're not going to canes and getting and not getting caniac sauce? It's the whole reason to go there, right? Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

That the cane sauce is the experience. Uh, but every time you go to takeout, it's like it's basically a gamble, right? You're not ordering food, you're making a bet. Will my sauce be there? Will their cheese be on my fries? Like, is everything actually in the bag? And usually the answer is no to one of those.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, I don't know. Yeah. You you just know you're not getting all three. That's why um, it's like Sam's brother used to do this. He would order like multiple family meals from Canes just for himself, just so that if they forgot the extra sauce, he got extra sauce anyway.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Uh hold on a second. I'm still dealing with this cold thing, dude. Holy shit, bro. I still, yeah, I still deal with this. All right. Anyway.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, I will say what while you're dealing with all that, Dave's hot chicken is it sucks. I'm sorry. It's the Morgan Wallet of Chicken Places.

SPEAKER_03

It's the angel Reese of Chicken Places.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. It's it's so overhyped. You you go and get their chicken sandwich, all they do is put is they layer two of the chicken strips on each other. So you can't, it's not like you can't really eat it that way. It's not good. And I don't think it tastes good. I think it's incredibly expensive. There is absolutely no reason for it to cost that much.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was it was a huge mistake, dude.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, huge mistake. I'm sorry, dude. We've all experienced it. We've all gone to Days Hot Chicken and being like, oh yeah, it's gonna be great, and then you get it and you're like, wow, this is bad.

SPEAKER_03

I like, uh man, it's just drives me nuts. But like, I just don't understand. Anytime you go to takeout, anytime you go to a fast food place, something's fucking wrong. And I know I'm gonna start sounding like an old man, which I am. I get it. Uh, but these people who are fucking up my order, they're the same people who are on TikTok saying everyone deserves a living wage. And maybe uh, but I could can I get my sauce before I don't I don't know, we restructure the entire economy for you. Ugh. God. If I don't get my cheese on my cheese fries, they're just depressed potatoes. I've paid way too much for this shit. I want what I want.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, depressed, yeah, they're under accessorized potatoes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. They're minimalist potatoes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh there's no jewelry potatoes.

SPEAKER_03

But like, so I like my thing is is like if you can't get my order right, if you can't give me my sauce, if you're gonna make a mistake, like stop complaining about not making a living wage, shut the fuck up, take the nose ring out of your nose, because a robot could do your damn job.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. But so this is actually a really interesting topic. If you want to get into it. Oh, I do.

SPEAKER_03

Um I I absolutely do. Yes, this is what we want to get into because it brings up a much bigger question. Because, like, yeah, I'm annoyed about my food. I'm also annoyed that these people who can't bring me my food are the ones who are on TikTok and Facebook and Instagram saying we deserve a living wage when R2D2 could replace them. But also, there is a big problem in this country, and that's gonna bring us into the deep end, right? Yeah, um, I don't know. Did we kill entry-level jobs, or did like did we kill entry-level life? Like, is there such a thing anymore? Is there a transition period anymore where you can have a shitty job and still make ends meet, but also like move up in the world so you can get a house, you can afford your rent, you could do you know what I mean? Like, yeah, is that a thing anymore?

SPEAKER_01

So I think the I think there is a right answer to this question, and I think that we killed entry-level life, specifically the baby boomer generation. So the way that they manipulated the economy to make it work for them resulted in things like the 2008 recession. The how the price of a house has gone up 300% since that time, and the living wage has only gone up 20% since that time. So, no matter what, automatically, like two working people in a home with a high five-figure salary, so that you're definitely bringing home six figures, still has trouble affording their home. And it's not even like this big nice mansion that we're trying to get. Like in the 70s, 80s, even 90s, you could have one working parent at like some factory job to support an entire family and a dog, two cars. That's not that that can't happen anymore. Now, do I think a fast food employee should be you know be able to live in a four-bedroom home on that wage? No, I don't. I don't think that makes sense. I think that people should be able to make enough to live. And so the problem has always been, it's like on the Democrat side, oh, we have to raise minimum wage. Problem with that, that increases inflation. So now you're you're just adding to a problem, right? Especially the hike that we just went on the last five years or so. That that it's too much, it's overcorrecting too much because you're not addressing the actual problem, which is housing prices going up, and they don't address it because the banks love it. Banks are making way more money than they were. So they're not gonna address the actual crux of the problem. It's the same problem that we have with um college and student loans. Nobody gives a shit that the price of tuition went up 250% over the last 20 years. We're just going to continue to give these loans out and you're never gonna be able to pay them back. And they know it. So it's that's the crux of the problem. We have destroyed the American dream by trying to make corporations richer, and that's my biggest issue with not taxing them appropriately. Is this is oh wow. Um, there's a lot to unpack there. Um, this is a big topic. I love this topic.

SPEAKER_03

You covered all of my topics at summarized them very well.

SPEAKER_01

Sorry, dude.

SPEAKER_03

No, it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just off the cuff here. I'm spitballing.

SPEAKER_03

Well, here uh so all right, you you said a lot. Um, and I think I think because we're talking about young people, I think we should talk about college first. Okay. I let that's what I think. Um actually, no, no, no. Let's go. So I know you said the baby boomers and corporations and this and that. But what I think actually happened was, and ladies, don't get upset with me here, because this is an attack. I'm just saying, I'm just looking at things and thinking this is what started the problem. And I'm not saying it is the problem, I'm saying this is the reason for a problem. I think the two-parent household, right, like became a a new normal, and prices adjusted for that, right? So you got two two incomes now in a home, so people have more money together, and prices adjusted. They're like, well, if people have more money, they can pay more for this shit, right? And I think that really led up to uh I think this is a beginning of something happening, and there was no there was no adjustment because we have a lot of government intervention instead of letting the market figure it out. We have it government and the Federal Reserve manipulating things to make things, I I guess you're right, easier on corporate America. Um, but like I said, we priced people out even when they were making more money. Yeah. Right, together, homes, single households. Um, but you can't put that back in the bottle, right? It's out, it's gonna happen. There's two parent homes. You have to have you know dual income now to live a comfortable life at the very least now. So what do you do?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, what do you like? How do you start to solve this problem? I think is what you mean, right? Yeah. Um so I think the easiest place to start is student loans. Now, I am on both sides of this fence to a degree because I understand the importance of creating money in the system. So offering loans with interest and receiving payments with that interest creates money in the in in the economy. I don't think that's inherently a bad problem. The issue that I have is if it's if a student loan and you have a 6% interest rate on $500,000, that is a lot different than a 7% interest rate on $20,000. So one of them you're gonna pay back, the other one you never will. My issue is with the principal payment. There's been no regulation on what schools can charge for their education. And so when there's no limit, they're just bumping up and up and up. Like who cares? And I think that is that's the easy place where you can start.

SPEAKER_03

Are are are we really talking about price controls on a service that somebody's providing?

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, because your service still has to be worth the outcome. So if your serv if that service, that providing that education, which again, studies show them if you go to college, your put your propensity for earning more later goes up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but that's that's becoming less and less now because everybody's got a college degree.

SPEAKER_01

Correct. And that there's like some a communications education is not worth half a million dollars. And I don't use that number lightly. That's a lot of the debt people are in is that high. They go to this expensive private school because they're told by their high school they have to, or they're stupid, or they're not gonna go somewhere. They gotta go to a big a really good college, and a really good college earns that name, they jack that price up. And there's no, there's no um, there's really no scale for understanding how that school ends up earning that student money because they also don't give a shit about their students at all. They don't.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I just don't I don't know if I'm gonna agree with, you know, uh we put on any price controls on anything ever. I don't like I don't like that. That's that doesn't make any sense to me. Um and I think how do you how I I think it would be a bad thing.

SPEAKER_01

How do you stop how do you stop hyperinflation uh in that sector then?

SPEAKER_03

Uh get ri co get rid of the government backing loans completely.

SPEAKER_01

Then how do you go to school? You get a loan from a bank. I mean they could control the how do you feel about them controlling the interest rate on that loan?

SPEAKER_03

Um I don't know. I I don't like any of that. Like, I don't think I like I also I don't think we you know we should have 50% interest rates, but I also don't think the government should come in and be like it has to be below seven. Like I I I just don't like it. Like the interest rate should be what people aren't willing to spend. That's what I think. And yeah, another another thing is is like I took loans out. There wasn't much, right? I took loans out and it was easy. I didn't have to do anything. I just signed a piece of paper. I didn't have to give them income. I didn't, I didn't have to tell anybody what my degree was really gonna be or how much I thought I was gonna make, none of that shit. None of it. Like, so if they're just completely backed, of course the prices are gonna rise exponentially exponentially. Like, I think I I think I wrote down the numbers. Um in 1980 to 81, uh for tuition fees, room and board averaged about $3,000 across all institutions. 2022 to 2023, almost $30,000. It's nine times higher. And it's because we were like, hey, we want everybody to go to college, we're gonna give you your loan no matter what, you're just gonna get it. Like, unless your parents make too much money, and then we might not give you financial aid, which makes no sense because if they make too much money, they can pay back the loan, right? What? So, of course, the colleges were like, hey, let's hire a bunch of administrators, like, and charge whatever we want.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think that like to me, that's a that's a big problem. I think that's looking at it more holistically, you want your citizens to be highly educated. That is better for your society when that happens. Uh but the problem is it well, statistically that's true, right? Like um, the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities um has a whole uh database about this specifically. All over the earth, higher educated countries perform better. That doesn't mean like only literacy, that means like post-secondary school, right? So like somewhere like Costa Rica has the highest literacy rate of any country on earth. Their country doesn't do so well because the post-secondary school isn't as important to their culture. But in the US, it should be. I don't understand, I just don't get it, right? What's the uh the whole point of having any government loan for this was an investment in the future of the country? And then they're like, we're not making enough money off of this, screw you guys, or you know, we're we're gonna for we're not gonna forgive all student loans now because you decided to go to school and that was your choice. I'm like, no, it wasn't. It's not, it's if you're deciding to go to school is really not your choice. You kind of have to.

SPEAKER_03

No, yeah, it was your choice. It was your choice. It was.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, not really, like you just said earlier, like you pretty much have to go to school, but it's still your choice. You don't have to. I sure you don't have like you don't literally have to, but you do because you can't afford a home. Uh-huh. You you can't afford groceries right now. Like, how how so how would you do it? You certainly can't do it by forgetting people's sauces in the checkout line at the fast food place. Yeah. Right?

SPEAKER_03

Like I'm just saying, uh right. I I'm just saying is like we got there. We got here because we were trying to answer one problem and created another through government. That that's what that's all I'm saying. And like now we're saying, well, uh, like you had to do it. Like, right, I get it. Like, if you want to make a decent wage, you should probably go to college and get a degree. No matter what that degree is, it's probably it's gonna raise your your weight your wage afterwards uh compared to people who just graduated high school for sure. I think it's people who graduate high school, uh, it's like $41,000 a year. People who graduate college, it's like 66 or something like that. But you can't afford anything that way either, anyway. Right. Plus uh now you're in debt. But uh like I I feel like I'm like going in like 17 directions here. Um let's uh yeah, so I'm just saying we created a problem to to solve another one or to give people a leg up, and the problem has created a disaster at a million different places. And for me, this is why I don't think government should be involved at all, because anytime they try to solve a problem or do something good, they make everything worse.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it is it is true because they're out for themselves. Uh our entire political system. There, there's really very few people that are trying to do anything for the people, they're trying to figure out how do I make myself look the best uh against the backdrop of the past presidents or senators or whoever. There, like I've I really believe that very there's very little that they're doing to actually help the community, they're just doing it to help themselves, which is well, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe there, maybe there was good intent. I have no freaking clue. But I also know that like you're like nobody has any um uh nobody looks forward into the future and say, all right, what are the ramifications of what I'm doing now? Because I might help a lot of people, but in 20, 30 years, what's gonna happen? What's the effect? And now we're here. And my thing is, is if you really, really wanted to fix this problem, it would hurt everyone for five to eight years at least. In what way? Like how like fix it how? Like if we wanted to fix this problem where tuition is way too high, like wages uh are too low, inflation, unemployment like are too high, like to fix those problems, it will hurt in the short run. Like five to eight, maybe ten years. Like if you get rid of the government-backed student loans, nobody's gonna be able to get go to college, which means we're gonna have an uneducated society for undereducated society for a while, which is gonna lead to a ton of problems in the job market.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Um wages are gonna drop, right? They're not gonna go up, they're gonna drop. Um, but in 10 years, you might get like a nice balance here where everything figures it out and college tuitions drop completely. All those administrators that we have in the college system gone in the school public school system, gone. Um this is really turning into a weird discussion.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if I could just bring it back in for a second. Um, so I I don't know what the long-term plan would be because I think it's highly dependent on which color is in the White House at that time, like red or blue, right? So but I I I think the smartest and best way to mitigate a lot of that risk is a couple of things. You the they we should treat government student loans like investments in the future. And if the school is going to charge that much, we don't want to put price controls on that. Which I I I agree, but maybe isn't the the best way to do it. But there has to be some sort of there has to be some sort of give and take. So, first off, we have to honor these loan forgiveness programs. People do not understand that it is impossible to pay back a student loan at a 7% interest rate that starts at like $300,000. You end up paying literally double the amount that the loan is worth over the course of it. You never come out from under that. So we have to honor that. And then your next question might be well, is there enough money to even do that? There could be, if we properly taxed major corporations. And the added yeah, but let me let me go here. Let me go here. All right, all right, uh the the added benefit of it is once again, according to the center of budget and policy priorities. They what we end up seeing when the corporate tax rate is higher is not that that they take is not that they take home less profit, they actually reinvest more back into their company in terms of wages, namely, is what we see. It's kind of counterintuitive. So they don't just like take money home, they don't use it to just kindly pay their people more. The incentive to not take profit out and pay taxes is paying their people more. So you're solving two issues at once. And that's I think that's the kind of system that you need. You need to generate that tax revenue to pay the schools whatever they want to charge, and in return, those schools or those uh corporations end up paying more their people more anyway.

SPEAKER_03

Um, so they're paying their people more anyway, but who's paying for that? What do you mean? Well, don't their products and services uh don't the prices go up?

SPEAKER_01

Not really, no. Because they're not they're because it's what you're talking about is the profit that they're pulling doesn't actually change because they're reinvesting it back into their business.

SPEAKER_03

But if they're paying more tax, if if they're paying more taxes, I just I just don't believe it.

SPEAKER_01

Because if this is Well, I'll send you the link. Historic historically, that's not what we've seen. It seems counterintuitive. I would have thought the same thing.

SPEAKER_03

If this was true, nobody would be against it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, corporations would. Why? Because all they care about is their uh their stock price.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But they would if they're investing in their people, you would think their people are gonna work a little bit harder, they're gonna feel better about coming to work, um, they're gonna do a better job, so their stock price would rise.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I just don't understand. If you're investing in the company, you'd think like things would get better at the company. I I just don't think this is true. Because they have it's there's pay Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I understand what you're saying. I would say I am telling you it's counterintuitive.

SPEAKER_03

Uh but if it's counterintuitive, why don't they do it?

SPEAKER_01

Like, why aren't they doing it? I think the the main reason is when they have to pay more corporate tax, the CEO makes a little bit less. But who gives a shit? They're making $20 million. But also, I I just don't see I I Well, I encourage I encourage you to look it up because they they they use empirical evidence and reference data to talk about these topics.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

All right.

SPEAKER_03

I'll look at it in terms of I there's no way. In terms of economic I just can't believe this is true. I I in terms of economics, there's there's gotta be there's gotta there's gotta be more to it than maybe if they I definitely can't recite the entire article. There's gotta be, I'm just saying, there's gotta be more to it because if if it did benefit, like everybody would be on board. Like even Republicans would be like, yeah, we're doing it because your wages are gonna go up.

SPEAKER_01

Right? No, I don't think they care about that. Because what I I think that's this is where we might be getting crossed, is the company reinvest it back in into the company, but not for the people, not of the kindness of their. No, they don't care about that. No, no, they they lower the corporate tax rate because those corporations end up backing their elections.

SPEAKER_03

More corporations back Democrats than Republicans? Yeah, like oil. More corporations donate to Democrats than Republicans.

SPEAKER_01

Sure, but the power of big oil or cigarette companies, for example. Uh-huh. Like, why would you lower the corporate tax rate? Like, what benefit does that give? I don't know. I I don't know. But that's that's where I'm coming from. There's much less of a benefit there.

SPEAKER_03

All I'm saying is, like, if if if Republican if this was true, if this was gonna be better for the people, Republicans would be like, yeah, we want to do this. This is gonna turn out great for you guys. Your wages are gonna go up, they're gonna reinvest in you. And that doesn't happen. But I actually think that did under Bush, I'm pretty sure, actually. More corporate money goes to Democrats than Republicans, so it's not corporations lobbying lobbying. I mean, obviously, it's definitely happening, but not as much as on the Democrat side. Um, because corporations, CEOs, um the tech bros, the all before Trump, the tech bros for sure, all leaned left. They were all donating to Biden, Hillary Clinton, Harris. So I what I'm saying is uh like this seems to be a good thing. Why isn't it happening?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it it was I I can't explain to you why like Republicans would decide not to do that. All right, my my my observ my observations are that like the the corporations that they care about that back them, like oil and uh like cigarette companies, those are their buddies, those are the rich billionaire buddies, so that's who backs them. And it still makes sense to help their own buddies, even though they they might be doing lowering tax rate for people who haven't historically donated to them. Like both could be true at once. What I am what I am just all I'm all I'm telling you is that there is empirical data on this, and that's what we end up seeing is higher corporate tax rate results in more investment in companies, resulting in partially higher wages. I think we're missing something.

SPEAKER_03

I think we're missing something, otherwise, people would be probably, yeah, probably.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's like a 20-page article. I can't like recite the entire thing, but the takeaway of I'm not saying you're missing something because we're two guys, no credentials.

SPEAKER_03

We're both of us are definitely missing something. Uh I'm saying there's gotta be something else missing because it doesn't this doesn't add up. Like it does, it doesn't add up because if this is so good, everybody would be saying, yeah, let's do it. And I can't imagine it's corporate lobbying that's getting in the way of this, especially since uh uh you know corporate America leans left at at uh a much bigger rate than leaning right. Uh so I I uh if you don't mind, let's leave it there because we've got a little bit more to talk about. Um, I'm just saying I there's gotta be something else going on, and I can't wait to look into this, and then we'll talk about it on another day.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, that's what's fun about this topic is there's there's so many different variables all happening at the same time that impact tiny little things in opposing ways. It's just it's like really kind of interesting to talk about.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Um, but like I I want to get back into um the kids and just things being unaffordable. Um so uh I'm gonna skip some of this stuff because I do so we kind of we kind of already blamed government, we talked about student loans, but I think uh some of this is our fault completely. Like our parents, our grandparents, when they lived in a home, it was really small, it had it had three, four rooms, but it was tiny as fuck. Everybody was living on top of each other. There's one bathroom, the house was really close to the next door neighbor, like three feet from it. You know what I mean? Like the those types of neighborhoods. And now I want for my home, I want AC. I want a big screen TV, I want GPS in my nice car with a backup camera so I can back in and not have anybody yell at me about you don't know how to back in. Um, I want heated street, heated seats. You know what I mean? In my house, I want the AC, hardware floor, nice appliances, a good fridge, a finished kitchen, um, with like a granite countertop. You know what I mean? Like all these luxuries have become necessities, but it has made life more expensive, even if all that stuff is cheaper than it was 10, 20 years ago.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean there's are are we to blame for this? There's definitely a point to be made here. Um, consumerism, I think, really is the the overarching concept, right? Um, I come from the kind of camp that we should have those things. When look at uh American history, every year we've gotten better and nicer things, and we've there and we've that's like the point. The point is to continue to progress. Like the point is to continue to make life better and easier. Um, so I definitely think you're right that there is a lot of consumerism, like people maybe not fully understanding their means and like living within that. Um, I don't think like when I think back to school and like you like middle school, there's not really any discussion ever on like how to really balance your checkbook or how to file your taxes, or like what is fiscal responsibility? What does this mean? Like, there's very small segments of like your classwork, at least where I went to school, that they talk about any of this, but like we spent an entire month making a quiche. Yeah. What seems more important really long term?

SPEAKER_03

Uh well, so I get you there, but I also I had this argument with somebody a couple of weeks ago. I think I think it was my sister paired. I don't know. Um, I think it's I don't think it's school's job to teach you how to do taxes or balance or checkbook or anything. I think that's your parents. Those are life skills. I think school, you go to school, you learn to read, write, do math, learn science, and learn history, it's world history and American history. Um, that's what I think you're there for. I don't think they're there to teach you life skills. Like that's what your parents are for. And yeah, maybe some people don't have very good parents or smart parents or don't have parents at all. Uh I'm sorry about your luck. That's just how the that's just kind of how the way world the world works. Jesus. Well no, Jesus Christ. What? It's a it is. It's how the world works, you know? Like I grew up with parents, they didn't have a lot of money like when I was growing up. When I left the house, they started making a lot more money, and my brother and sister, they had they had a lot more things, and a little bit more opportunity, um, nicer clothes, and they didn't have a whole holes in their sneakers. Uh, you know, that's fucking life. Like you like your parents are there to teach you life lessons, school's there to teach you how to, you know, learn.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, aside, so then we should get rid of phys ed and home ec. Yes. I I think you should get rid of I think we should get rid of phys ed. I don't think that's there, and there's almost any benefit to it at all. But um uh because I think kids would play sports anyway. I think the kids are interested in sports by the time they get like no nobody is in the middle of gym class in third grade, and you're like, you know what? I really do like football. You already like football.

SPEAKER_03

Completely agree.

SPEAKER_01

Um, however, I think this is a problem that I actually have with the way we do school. I think the way that we do school now is completely obsolete. Um, I I I actually think there's a I think there's a lot more benefit to teaching life skills in school than there is to rely on parents to do it because they've done such a bang up job over the years. Um I I also like school has never evolved since the 19 teens. It's always just been exactly the same. And I think that we're that it that's a that that's a problem. Because honestly, at this point, you have to like we got we've just established, like you basically need to go to college. You're gonna learn, you're gonna learn there. You're gonna learn stuff, you're gonna learn a skill, you're gonna learn a uh of like how to critically think. But you're not, but nobody is, but like nobody's teaching you when you're 17 years old, filling out these applications to go to college and then signing your life away for a $300,000 loan. Nobody's teaching you what that fiscal responsibility means. And a lot of parents still don't really know. I've had student loans for how old am I? 33. So yeah, 12 12 years. I've been paying these, mean almost no dent. Um, uh everything that's happening now with the loan forgiveness problem, that's all a problem. But like when you're you when you're 17, you don't understand what that means. And like with uh government loans, like parent plus loans, my parents didn't understand what that means either. How would they? It was a new thing. They don't nobody really talk to you about this, and now basically you need a PhD. Student loans to figure out the fuck's going on. So I I do think there actually is more benefit to teaching life lessons and life skills in schools than there is learning. I don't know. I just computer computer skills, actually. Nowadays, like everyone's got a phone, everyone's got a computer. Like, no, you don't need to learn. We shouldn't be teaching typing skills in school. That's a waste of time.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Winston. This is 2013. Typing is not a special skill. It's so true, though. Um, I you've almost got me convinced, and I'd be willing to compromise a little bit. Um, no, I'd be willing to compromise and miss meet you 50-50 some way. My issue is if we take all of this responsibility off the shoulders of parents, we have shittier parents. And the state is now teaching kids and indoctrinating them into how they feel about life and what they need to know and what they need to learn and what skills are important and all that other shit. And that worries me. So I'd be willing if you were willing to get rid of completely public schools and got rid of the Department of Education, I'd be like, okay, let's do it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean, this is a f this is a fair point. I don't know if I'm willing to go that far because I think then you now you have the same problem we have with college with you know elementary schools. Well, what's that? Um, if everything if we got rid of the Department of Education and got rid of public schools, now you'll have only private schools who can charge whatever they want. I think you have the same problem.

SPEAKER_03

No, they can't charge whatever they want because they can only charge what people can afford. What some people can afford. No, what people can afford, because that's the way the market works. Yeah, eventually reach a point where mostly everybody can afford things. And then that's where you get your your social safe safety net for those that small percentage of the population that can't afford it. That's how the market works.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that scares me though, too. Oh, that's scary. I think you need a public school system. I think that I think I think education itself should be free. Like if the whole point of us investing in our people and trying to make our country better in the future. If it's free, what's it worth? What's it worth right now?

SPEAKER_03

Well, right now, seemingly there is competition. Schools do have to compete, say, hey, I do this better, I do this better, we have a better program here for people like you, we have a better program from here for people like you. Hey, we teach in our program here, we teach this way. Maybe this is gonna be a good fit for the type of person you learn. If it's all free, are you gonna get that? I don't know. If it's free Desk Finland, it's not actually free because somebody's paying for it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, nothing is truly free. Um I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

And if if some if the government's paying for it, don't we just end up with the same problem we have now where prices just go up and up and up? You get more administrators, administrators, administrators, and the technology really hasn't changed much. The teaching, the programs, they're not changing much, but the school cost is just rising out of direct like exponentially. But hey, like it's free, the government's gonna pay for it, so schools can charge whatever they want.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so it's really just the same issue with the loans, yeah. But instead of paying, instead of paying it in the form of a loan, you're paying it the form of taxes.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's better. There's no real good answer, except let's get rid of the government completely. The president should have absolutely no power, so it doesn't matter whether it's an eight-year-old who really likes Legos or a ferret is in the Oval Office.

SPEAKER_01

It kind of does look like a ferret a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

Like if it if it like like somebody dipped it in hydrogen peroxide for a while. Oh man. Oh man. So I guess uh we didn't really solve anything here. Um, we did kind of say the American dream is way too expensive. Um all those workers from Dave's Hot Chicken, even if I didn't get my sauce, they do have a point because like businesses have to stay open pretty much all day and on the weekends. So they're not just hiring 16-year-olds to work there anymore, they're actually hiring adults. Yeah, they're low-skilled adults, right? Or like, I don't know, people who are hard on their luck, they lost a job or something like that. They're just trying to put food on the table. Uh, but they're hiring adults, right? So they're not entry-level jobs anymore. Uh, it's a real problem. And I don't think we solved any of them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh, yeah, because it's I think what we ended up finding out, right, is every time we have a proposed solution, there's like 20 different things that go wrong. Like that, then now we have to come up with solutions for all of these things. This is an extremely complex, like spider web of issues and outcomes. It's so difficult. Um, I I know that we should never get to a place like we already are. We should never get to the place we're currently sitting in, and uh where, for example, when I was working with the grocery stores, we had this one guy stocking milk, you know, that's in the freezer or the cooler all day, just like hawking milk up there. And he was an actual pharmacist, but he could not find a pharmacy job. So, did we help this guy? Is it was this worth it? He's paying back student loans, putting milk up on a crate, and there's nothing wrong with that job. Like that, that's a respectable job to have. We need people to put milk on the display and and and get that out to customers. That is important. But this guy just took out half a million dollars in student loans to go to pharmacy school, which he completed.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Can I ask you a question though? Yeah, I feel bad for this guy, but also isn't that the risk you take? Like just stepping outside your door? Like, isn't it all about like risk, reward, cost, benefit? And so there's gonna be losers. Like, some people are gonna lose. And it sucks. Yeah, and it sucks. Like, uh so um, we had there was a bunch of issues when we were moving from Ohio to we were deciding where we were gonna go. Ohio, I wasn't gonna make a lot of money, she wasn't gonna make a lot of money, and part of it is because the the market is so um is just full of CBTs. Yeah, it's saturated from CVTs and doctors. So the wages are really low, right? And so we went back and forth with blah blah blah. And like here, there are there are a lot of CVTs, but there's not a ton. And I I can get paid more here, right? She can get paid more here. Um there but so like this is just kind of the world we live in. Like, you know, things suck. You know, you gotta make hard choices, and uh, you know, maybe you gotta move or do whatever you gotta do. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I guess this is another point that I put on on institutions. Don't oversaturate your market. Like, veterinary medicine doesn't have this problem because Ohio State, for example, keeps their class size low. So there's always a need for the job in the market.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_01

What happened with pharmacy is in the 90s, everybody was going to pharmacy school. Everyone. And completely flooded the market, and so there are no jobs for it. Right. But they don't give a shit. They only give a shit that everyone paid for them to go to school. Now that they've graduated, I don't give a shit about any of them. I don't give a shit what happens in this country. I don't give a shit what happens uh, you know, with the job market, as long as we got paid, we're getting our loan. You know, they they don't give a shit about the rest of it.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And I don't know how you incentivize them to do that.

SPEAKER_03

I you can't, but you know what you can do? Because the comp there's one common denominator for all these issues, and it's government. And you can get rid of government. And I'm not saying like I said before, but you can get government out of all these things and just let the market figure it out. Uh, but the student loans right now, I have no idea what you're supposed to do because you're locked in. You're screwed. Because, like we both agreed, you have to you have to get a college degree to compete, at least just a bachelor's. Like, if like if you really want to compete, you want to get a master's or you want to get a PhD. Um but like so I don't know what you do there because I think you end the student loan program, you change it around, you make it a little easier for banks to do it, lower interest rates, but maybe we do forgive this huge generation generation of kids who are paying their student loans and it will never pay them off. Because if you're affecting one part of the economy by saying, all right, we're not gonna give out these loans, you're putting you're hurting people, right? Yeah. So we have to help on another end to balance the economy. And I'm not saying there's gonna be people who aren't getting caught in the middle and people who do like still have a hard time, but I think that's what you do. You have to make a compromise here. And if we're gonna stop ending these government-backed loans, maybe we need to forgive all these all the student loan debt. I agree. But to buffer, you know, some of that hurt that people feel in the economy because it's gonna hurt.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, or or at least shut off the interest rate. By now, like with with Sam student loans, they've already made the the principal already in just interest payments, right? That's more than they should have made on it. So just shut it off. Zero percent interest now, and you can start paying down the loan, and then you get out from under it. Like, that's a fine solution. Then maybe it doesn't have to forgive every dollar, and I'm fine with that, but just like do something.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Yeah. Wow, wait. This is uh I wrote something and I don't know if I said this already. Um you probably read it before, but um, the American dream didn't disappear, it got repriced. And um uh it's pretty it's pretty weird because I I at 42 I feel it. I'm like, man, like I'm not exactly where I wanted to be. I'm doing better than probably what I should have should be because of how I was when I was a kid, and also I'm a dumb marine. Um but like you know, life's hard, it's expensive. Yeah, man. It's expensive, and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. Actually, that's not true. People are doing things about it, and maybe that's the problem.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. Maybe I I think that I think that the hard part about Donald Trump too is he's so out of touch with reality in this way. He's always so much money.

SPEAKER_03

Does every politician?

SPEAKER_01

Well, I think it's a lot of politicians eventually, but like some of them grow up from you know, not much, and they have like some a semblance of understanding of what it means to be normal. But at least from like at least at a young age, not all of them, not all of them were born into you know, of being a billionaire. Um so I think I think this part's this part's kind of tough for him to wrap his head around.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, you know, uh Trump before Biden, Biden, Obama, like Bush, Clinton. We're all we were always leading in this direction. We were always gonna end up here. None of them did anything to help us. Yeah. Well, at least our our national debt is you know, just rising out of control. We can be proud of that. Yeah, I mean, we're going for the record. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We want more debt than any place in the universe. So Donald Trump is thinking about building a death a Death Star. That'll do it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um also love how he just completely ripped up the front house, the the the White House front lawn for his UFC match. Which he's not allowed to do.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I don't really give a shit. Yeah. Whatever. If if we want to look like bulls, we're gonna look like bulls.

SPEAKER_01

Fine. Don't you look at that whole thing and be like, oh my god, this is what Homelander would do.

SPEAKER_03

I look at it and I'm pretty sure we've reached idiocracy type levels. And yeah. Honestly, like I just wish I just wish there was a president in the office and I couldn't give a fuck less who it was. That's what I wish.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I wish there was so little little power in the presidency that I could care less who it was. That's what I wish. But unfortunately, it's not like that. Yeah. Yeah. We got Sleepy Joe, we got Orange Man. Ugh. God, who's next? Not that guy from Connecticut, I'll tell you that for free. Yeah, that's not gonna happen. Oh man. Jordan McCormick, what a douchebag. Let me just say that one more time. Jordan McCormick, let him know he is an idiot. Don't vote for him, don't support him, don't send him any money. He's a moron.

SPEAKER_01

Loser. Total loser.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. But uh, you know, James Tallarico, he's a bottom, so he'll protect you from those tops if you want him to.

SPEAKER_01

I honestly, like James Tellerico, uh Buddha J, like there's a bunch of people out there on the fringes, right? That like could potentially get to a presidency someday. If someone can just like speak a normal, coherent sentence, I'm like good. And that's where the bar is for me right now.

SPEAKER_03

That's so funny.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, there's nobody.

SPEAKER_03

Uh so um, I don't know if you know who Dr. Joe Jorgensen is. Yeah, of course. Oh, okay. Um I voted for her for president. I think she would be an excellent president. Uh, she recently announced that she was doing some fact-finding to see if there was a presidential run in her future. Um, and I think that would be great for the Would she run as a libertarian? Yes. So she won't get 5% of the vote.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But so it's yeah. Like what she's better off doing is like establishing herself within one of the two parties.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, except for the fact that no, like she would never get the nomination. Yeah, she would never get nominated because she wants government out of people's house homes. Completely. Yeah. She's so smart. My cousin, uh Michaela, uh goes to school in Clemson where Dr. Joe Jorgensen um is a professor and takes one of her classes. Oh, that's really cool. Super cool. She doesn't talk politics, though. It's like a roll in her things. So I mean, I get it. Yeah, uh she teaches psychology.

SPEAKER_01

You uh that would be a really good person to have as a president. Maybe she'll pass the shit out of that, she'll ace that cognitive test too.

SPEAKER_03

No shit. Also, it would be pretty cool to see like a president getting interviewed and then start analyzing the interviewer.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Instead of just going, you're a very dumb person, you're very dumb. Excuse me what you're doing, he's very dumb.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I don't know. At least I find that entertaining.

SPEAKER_01

I do not. I find it despicable, I find it disgusting, I find it embarrassing because other countries and their leaders are watching it too. And they're like all these dumb fucking Americans, and they're right.

SPEAKER_03

No, we we have like this this we have this total dick disconnect here between me and you because I could care less who our president is. I don't think they should have any power where it actually makes a difference who it is.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like, look at look here's my thing. What's the difference between um Donald Trump being like, you're despicable, you're dumb, and Joe Biden be like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I care. Yeah, well, I did a thing with the jobs, hairy legs, uh, and then you know, like that's what he did in his interviews. What's the difference? The difference is intent.

SPEAKER_01

No, there's no difference. It's both embarrassing. No, no, they're both embarrassing. One of them is purposefully embarrassing, the other one is this old guy's pooping his diapers. Like, there's a big, there's a big difference. All right. I'll make one more point.

SPEAKER_03

Uh-huh. Everybody arounding Joe Biden purposefully and with intent ignored it, covered it up, and lied to the American people.

SPEAKER_01

It's probably right. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So it's just as bad. It's just as bad. Everybody else is like, yeah, Donald, you did a great job, Mr. President. You're so smart. You showed that reporter. Good job, buddy. Yeah, like, and then you got Jill Biden over here the last week, like saying when he was in that debate, I thought he was having a stroke. You you did? And you didn't stop it? Um, you're a doctor? All right, Jill. Good good job. Like, uh, this is where we're at.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. You know who I I could get behind? Anybody under 75 years old? Uh no.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no. I I like my I like my bottoms 70 and over. I might be able to get behind DeSantis if you cooled it down a little bit. I might be able to get behind Shapiro in Pennsylvania. Right now, I think that's it. Uh maybe Marco Rubio, but I don't know if I've actually met. Oh God. I don't know if I've actually met real Marco Rubio.

SPEAKER_01

Um that that I do think that would be an absolute disaster. I think he's a spineless little bitch.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I don't think so. I think he's sharp. He's sharp. You've been watching him during these um these committing hearing committee hearings?

SPEAKER_01

Uh not not much. Not I haven't watched him recently. I just know that he stood up there at every campaign, talks about how they have to stop Donald Trump, and they have he's a terrible person. He does all these terrible things, and as soon as he gets a job offer from him, he's like, Yes, daddy.

SPEAKER_03

That's what they all do. JD Vance daddy.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, hate that.

SPEAKER_03

Kamala Harris uh called Joe Biden a racist.

SPEAKER_01

Yep, that's why I think she was a horrible choice to replace him in that race. Well, I've said this before. The Democrats' heads are so far up their own asses, they love sniffing their own farts that they won't get out of their own way. Like Kamala was a horrible choice to replace Joe Biden. They should have never let Joe Biden run in the first place. The whole of this was terrible. And then all you end up doing is like creating AOC around to just condescend everyone to tell and tell everybody how stupid. Stupid they are for not believing her. Like we gotta stop that cycle, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I can't get behind that either. Ugh, LC. All right. Well, um, wow, we gotta wrap this up.

SPEAKER_01

Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_03

We keep um, I'm glad we did the I'm glad I did the uh anyway. Uh we're gonna miss our last sip again. I think we're just gonna delete this. We're never gonna talk about this um and try and start over again. Oh, hold on a second. Yeah, we we got we got like three minutes. Do you want to do your things you hate? Oh, if we have time, I'd love to.

SPEAKER_01

Um yeah, I want to use it. So this came up yesterday for me. I absolutely hate pizza with no structural integrity. It bothers me so much. A piece, uh, a slice, if you will, should be able to be held by one hand, and you shouldn't have to dangle it and like down the gullet. I don't think you that like that's not the appropriate way. I should be able to eat the pizza. You can even fold it, do the little fold, you know, give it a little bit of that's like the arch in St. Louis, except upside down, a little structural soundness. That's okay. But I just don't I don't know. I just we had pizza yesterday at this place, and there's a New York style slice, which I think is inferior because of this reason. If depending on the toppings, it could wet wet down the dough a little bit, and now you got floppy pizza. Yeah, we can't have this as a society. You should be able to trust pizza. If you can't trust pizza, who in this world can we trust? Nobody. That's true. That's true. It's like the buffalo slice, right? A little thicker, it's not like a deep dish, but it's got a little thickness to it, and it's got structural soundness. If you take a nice fresh, hot slice, melty cheese, and you pull that piece out, you can hold it and it would be like a board. If I have a little waggle, a little yaw, if you will, but it's a nice structurally sound piece of pizza, and I need structural soundness in my pizza. I cannot be dangling pizza flops into my face while being upset that the Bills lost another AFC championship. I need support.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you got you already got enough cocks dangling in front of your face. You don't need pizza too. I can't have pizza too. This is what this has come down to is gay jokes. Um I agree with this. I don't like a thick pizza. I want a little, I want a little flop. I want to do the fold, a tiny little bit of flop, so I could still go like this, like straight into the mouth. You know?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. But there's structural soundness there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I agree with you. I also I don't like um I don't like a lot of uh like toppings on my pizza. Um, because you're right, like the more toppings, then your dough gets a little like wet and moist, and nobody likes that. Um and then I don't know. Uh vegetables is a no for me completely because your pizza's wet. It's just it's flopping all over the place, it's wet, there's nothing going on.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the ratio, the dough to veggie ratio has to be considered. If you're putting that all on a New York spice, it will never work. It will never work. It's kind of like it's kind of like Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. No matter how much you want it, it will never work.

SPEAKER_03

So nobody wants that.

SPEAKER_01

You have to, so it's fine. We want all the vegetable on the pizza, you gotta let the customer know, listen, we gotta make that bitch a little thicker for you. It's gonna be an extra dollar. Boom, I'm in. Give me that soundness.

SPEAKER_03

I could do that, I could get behind that totally. Like, hey, I could get behind, hey, listen, I love your idea for your pizza and your toppings, but to make it good, we're gonna have to charge you a little bit extra.

SPEAKER_01

I'd be like, okay, this is what I want. Absolutely, absolutely. Because I love veggies on a pizza. I'm a big mushroom, onion, peppers guy on there with some meats. Oh man, give me a white pizza any day of the week. Holy shit, love it.

SPEAKER_03

I like it. I like a white pizza, I like a cheese pizza. I'm normally not a toppings guy. I will do bacon as long as it's chopped. I don't want a long strip of bacon. What are you doing? Yeah, yeah. I definitely don't want Canadian bacon on my pizza. That's ham. No.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I will say a little like a margarita pizza with the basil, the mat's uh slices, but then they put a little Brazut on there. That's nice. Don't like marguerite pizza. Oof. That's okay. That's okay. No one's perfect.

SPEAKER_03

But you're right. I'm not perfect. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, you go you a roy guy? No, I hate pepperoni on pizza. Hate pepperoni.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. Yeah, because the pepperoni, it gets greasy in the oven. The grease goes all over the cheese, and it gross. That's disgusting.

SPEAKER_01

It is disgusting.

SPEAKER_03

It is my favorite part. No, I don't like it. It changed and the grease changes the flavor of the cheese.

SPEAKER_01

Do I make a suggestion? Do you it's the cup, the cup and char pepperoni? That's the pepperoni you're after.

SPEAKER_03

Right, but like, well, where do you find that? You know?

SPEAKER_01

Right here, Pizza Shack. Pizza Shack. Oh, yeah. That's my pizza place. Shout out Pizza Shack. Right around the corner. I always order from there. They have to be so annoyed coming to my house and me not hearing the doorbell. Oh man.

SPEAKER_03

Um, can I we gotta go? But I wanted to let you know, speaking of local local spots, I went and saw Eunice over at Bagel Delight. Um at the beginning of the week, and she was asking how the podcast is going. I was like, it's going great. We're having a lot of fun doing it, nobody's listening to us. And she started laughing at me, and she's like, Nobody's listening to you. I'm like, no, nobody's watching, nobody's listening. And she's like, I'm your biggest supporter, but I don't know how to listen. And I like I just love that so much from her.

SPEAKER_01

She is the sweetest angel of a person on this planet of earth, and she makes a mean breakfast sandwich.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, she does. Shout out Bagel Delight. Eunice is the best. If you're in the Newtown area, go over there. Um, and also like, subscribe, follow, lower your expectations. This is two guys no credentials, and we're really trying. Oh shit. Oh man, that was good. All right, see ya everybody.

SPEAKER_00

Bye guys, Woogie Boogie, Woogie Boogie
