Bridget Nicholls
Bridget is a researcher, educator, and co-host of the podcast. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), service dog coach, and co-owner of Unleashed Niagara. Her work is grounded in the belief that dogs deserve to be understood, not simply controlled.
Bridget is also a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Windsor. Her research examines animal law, advocacy, and welfare reform in Canada. She is a member of the Animal and Interpersonal Abuse Research Group, an Associate Fellow of the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics, and a member of the Canadian Animal Law Study Group.
Drawing on 15 years in animal welfare and training, Bridget combines research, professional practice, and lived experience. As someone with an invisible disability, she understands the challenges of disability, public access, and the pressure to prove support is needed. Through the podcast, she makes credible information accessible while creating space for honest conversations.
