A: After 40, three biological shifts happen at the same time. Your gut bacteria change composition, your estrogen declines which makes your cells more insulin resistant, and your stress tolerance drops so cortisol spikes more easily. A: The goal is not a calorie number. It's a framework: protein, fiber, and healthy fat in every meal to stabilize blood sugar and feed good gut bacteria. Variety in vegetables matters more than quantity. Lunch should be your largest meal, dinner should be light and finished by 7pm, and leaving 12 to 13 hours before breakfast allows overnight gut repair. This is biology logic, not diet logic. (9:27)
