Approaches like calorie restriction, daily fasting, and intense cardio were designed for younger, less hormonally complex bodies and can actively worsen fat storage after 40. Addressing the biological root causes, including gut bacteria, cortisol sensitivity, and insulin resistance, is what produces lasting results.

Eating fruit, oatmeal, or sweet foods as your first meal of the day creates an immediate blood sugar spike before any protein or fat is present to slow absorption.
