A podcast Hosted by Michelle & Danyelle: a coach and a therapist, an interracial and queer best friend pair of 26 years. The Third Thing is where we are naming and confronting the topics that challenge us in platonic relationships. On friendship and race, money, sobriety, politics, when we drift or breakup, and the jealousy nobody admits to. Each week we spill the tea from our hurdles, and offer up the tools we’ve learned along the way.

Podcast launching June 16th!
There are three kinds of love. There's romantic love, the one that gets the songs, the movies, the couples therapy, the date nights, and all the vacations. There's familial love, the one you're born into, that shapes you before you even know what love is. The relationships that are expected to last forever.
And then there's The Third Thing: Friendship. The relationships that often get the least attention but do some of the heaviest lifting.
The Third Thing is a podcast about that love. A podcast about friendship in all its fullness. The conflict worth repairing, the evolution worth honoring, and sometimes...the letting go.
Hosted by Danyelle, a therapist, healer, and Hoodoo practitioner, and Michelle, a life coach, facilitator, and public speaker. We've been friends for 26 years and we've got the receipts!

Think of this space as a kitchen table conversation with honesty, laughter, validation, and plenty of tea.
Danyelle
I'm Danielle, a therapist, healer, and voodoo practitioner, and someone who's been thinking about the way we love each other for most of my life.
SPEAKER_00
And I'm Michelle, a life coach, facilitator, public speaker, and a spaceholder at my core. I've spent a lifetime helping people communicate better and more honestly.
Danyelle
We built the third thing because we love talking. Period. And we know what it takes to keep a friendship alive because we've actually done it.
SPEAKER_00
We've done the work and we want to share what we've learned. The tools, the experiences, the hard parts. And because there are a lot of people out there figuring out their relationships without a roadmap, we're pulling up a chair.
Danyelle
This is our third space. Not home, not work. A place to think, to feel, to be in community with people who take their friendships seriously too.
SPEAKER_00
We are the bestest of friends, and after all this time, we've got the receipts. We're interracial, queer, and still growing together.
Danyelle
And that's the whole show right there. The fact that after 26 years, there's still more to discover. That's what Tended Love does.
SPEAKER_00
Alright, Dee. What episode are you most excited about?
Danyelle
I mean, there's so many good ones. We're really gonna jump in. We're not just staying on the surface, but I have to say the race episode. I just feel like it's a hot topic right now, and we're living proof that you can be in an interracial friendship for a long time.
SPEAKER_00
I love that. And I'm excited to talk about life stages. What happens when one friend gets married or you know moves across the world to a different country? How do you stay friends and ask for what you need in those relationships?
Danyelle
Like I said, we're getting into it. We're really excited to be on this journey with you.
SPEAKER_00
And we're gonna be launching the podcast June 16th.
