I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand cookie-cutter interviews with Hip-Hop artists. You know the drill...Who are your Top 3 Favorite Emcees? Who are your Top 5 Favorite Producers? What’s your Favorite Track that you’ve ever made? Yeah, yeah… all fine questions, but, that's not my lane. Me, I like to throw curveballs. I like to hit them with the unexpected and make them think. That’s what THE ULTRAMAG 7 is all about. 7 random questions, straight from me, ULTRAMAG7, to my friends, Hip-Hop heroes, and fellow movers and shakers in the culture.

Aaron Phillips aka ULTRAMAG7 is a social media video editor and creator of what he calls Culture Clips. Clips of Hip-Hop culture intertwined with Pop culture. You can find his page on Instagram @ultramag7. You can find his column titled THE ULTRAMAG 7 in issues of Chuck D's magazine, Rap Central Station. He also hosts the Prospective Podcast along with his partner, Kotta Ranks, where they interview an interesting array of Hip-Hop icons. Lastly, he is also a co-host on the It's C-Doc Again show on YouTube (Executive Produced by Chuck D of Public Enemy) where he, C-Doc, Jennifer 'O' Jenny and Flatline talk to a who's who of Hip-Hop, weekly. In the 2000's you may have found ULTRAMAG7 on stages all over the world with Princess Superstar, these days you can find him rapping on songs alongside Chuck D and Jazzsoon. ULTRAMAG7 has been labeled an "incredible Hip-Hop historian" by Chuck D of Public Enemy.

7L

DJ 7L is a Boston-based DJ and producer best known as half of the underground hip-hop duo 7L & Esoteric and as 1/3 of the acclaimed hip-hop supergroup Czarface alongside Esoteric and Inspectah Deck. Since 1992, he has been a pillar of the east-coast boom-bap scene, celebrated for his sample-heavy beatmaking and elite scratching. Over the decades, 7L has established himself as a master of crate-digging, producing for the collectives Army of the Pharaohs and Demigodz. In 2013, he formed Czarface, merging classic boom-bap with comic-book themes and nerd culture. The group has since recorded monumental collaborations with rap heavyweights such as MF DOOM, Method Man, and Ghostface Killah. Outside of Czarface, 7L frequently produces for his instrumental side project, The Czar-Keys, alongside musician Jeremy Page.

Mr. Len

Mr. Len (Leonard "Lenny" Smythe) is a Hip-Hop DJ born in the Bronx, New York. He moved to Hillside, NJ when he was 12 years old. He was a member, with Bigg Jus and El-P, of the underground Hip-Hop trio Company Flow. His debut full-length, released on Matador Records in 2001, included guest spots by Jean Grae, Chubb Rock, and Mr. Live. Later he formed a group with Kimani Rogers from The Masterminds named Roosevelt Franklin. He also collaborated with Handsome Boy Modeling School member Prince Paul to produce the faux-doo wop group The Dix. Mr. Len was also a voice actor in the American action comedy television series, Kung Faux. Check out his current release, Raul's Toons on Thick Crates Records.
