Carlos Figueroa is a lawyer and writer whose work explores institutions, uncertainty, and the stories we tell to make sense of both. He publishes Systems Under Pressure on Substack and will release his debut novel, The Ghost of Lake Osakis, in May 2026.

With over 20 years in the book publishing industry, his broad experience includes distribution (digital and physical books), sales, marketing, foreign and domestic rights and international distribution. He has held the position of Trade and International Sales Manager for Hazelden Publishing, Sales and Marketing Director for Liturgical Press, and is currently the General Manager of Math Teachers Press, located in St. Louis Park. He lives in Anoka, MN, with his family and is a lover of sports, especially basketball.
