Welcome to the Healing Waves Reiki Podcast. I'm your host, Cathy Scarpitto, Reiki Master teacher, spiritual mentor, intuitive, and physical therapist. This is a grounded, heart-centered space where we explore Reiki, energy, and the science and spirit of healing. How Reiki supports the body, deepens intuition, regulates the nervous system, and helps transform the experience of healing. Where Reiki meets science, intuition meets practice, and healing becomes more human. If you're curious about Reiki, you want a deeper healing, or seeking a more connective and intuitive way to care for yourself or others, you're in the right place. Let's begin. Today I wanted to bring you behind the scenes of something I'm incredibly excited about. My continuing education course, Reiki 1 for the physical therapist and healthcare professional. Over the years, working in healthcare, I've noticed something. Most clinicians enter this field because they genuinely wanted to help people heal. But healthcare can become so focused on protocols, productivity, documentation, and doing that sometimes we lose space for presence, regulation, and human connection. And while clinical skills matter deeply, patients don't only experience our techniques, they experience our presence. That realization became part of why I created this course. Not to replace medicine, not to replace evidence-based care, but to create a space for a more integrated approach to healing. This course was designed specifically for physical therapists and healthcare professionals interested in learning how Reiki Energy Healing can complement clinical practice and support patient well-being. The course combines self-paced online learning with live interactive Zoom sessions. Before our first live class, participants complete online coursework with educational videos, instructions, and resources you'll continue to have access to long after the course ends. Then we come together live. Our first Zoom session is designed to be interactive and personal. We'll talk about what brought you to this work, your healthcare setting, and what you hope to gain from integrating Reiki into your professional life. In my teaching, I blend traditional Usui Reiki with intuitive Reiki approaches, medical Reiki concepts, and insights from my years practicing as a physical therapist. As part of the training, participants receive their level one Usui Reiki attunement and become certified as a Reiki Level 1 practitioner. And that's an important part of the program. Participants aren't only learning concepts, they're learning practical skills and becoming trained Reiki practitioners. That means practitioners can begin integrating Reiki into clinical environments when appropriate, while also having the ability to provide Reiki independently outside of healthcare settings as a standalone offering. For some clinicians, this becomes another tool to support patient care. For others, it opens an entirely new path personally or professionally. Throughout the course, we explore Reiki history and foundational principles, the energetic body, chakras, and energetic awareness, self-regulation and therapeutic presence, relaxation, stress reduction, and supporting overall well-being, performing Reiki on yourself and others, integrating Reiki ethically into healthcare settings, observation, assessment approaches, and energetic awareness tools, supporting balance, restoration, and healing. I also demonstrate how I personally use tools like a pendulum as part of energetic observation and discuss approaches to assessment, treatment, and reassessment within Reiki practice. After our first live class, participants spend time practicing independently. You reflect, you observe, you gain experience. Then we come back together for our final live session to discuss what did you notice? What shifted? What questions came up? What did your practice partners experience? The goal isn't perfection, it's awareness, confidence, experience, and learning how these tools may support both practitioners and those they serve. For physical therapists in New Jersey, this course has been approved by the New Jersey State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners for Continuing Education Credit. If you've been listening to this podcast and connecting with conversations around healing, nervous system regulation, presence, and human connection, and something inside you keeps thinking, there has to be more to healing than what we were taught. Maybe this is your next step. Whether you're Reiki Curious, looking to expand your clinical toolbox, or exploring new ways to support healing, I'd love to have you join us. You can find more information on my website and through the course registration link. And as always, stay curious, keep learning, keep healing. And I'll see you on the next episode of the Healing Waves Reiki Podcast.
