Then the very next day, Search Engine Journal published an article with a familiar warning. They compared buying Reddit citations to the old link farms that SEO used years ago. If you've been around SEO for a while, you've seen this movie before. Years ago, people bought backlinks. For a while, it worked, but not for long. Google got smarter, the shortcuts disappeared. Now some SEO marketers are trying the same thing with Reddit. Creating artificial discussions, buying up votes, manufacturing citations, will it work? Maybe, but not for long.
