Smell That? Your Website Needs a Wakeup Call! | The AI Search Briefing #39

Smell that? That might be your website.
In this episode of The AI Search Briefing, Ralph Peterson of 7Trillion SEO explains why a website that has been sitting untouched for years may not be helping your business anymore. It may actually be hiding you.
Just because your website is online does not mean your website is alive. A dormant website with no fresh content, no updated services, no FAQs, no reviews, no trust signals, and no clear answers gives Google and AI Search very little reason to understand, trust, or recommend your business.
Facebook can be useful, but Facebook is rented land.
Your Google Business Profile is local authority. Your website is your home base.
If your website has not been updated since 2019, 2020, or 2021, it may be time for a wakeup call.
Think Big.
Be Trusted.

The AI Search Briefing is a daily 1–3 minute update helping business owners, marketers, and SEO professionals understand how AI is changing search.
Smell that? That is your website! And no, it's not aging, it's rotting. Hi, I'm Ralph Peterson of 7 Trillion SEO and this is the AI search briefing. Let me say something that might sting a little. Just because your website is online does not mean your website is alive. I see this all the time. A business owner builds a website, they launch it, they say we'll finish it later. And then later becomes six months, then a year, then five years, and now the website is just sitting there like an abandoned building on the internet. Well guess what? That is a dormant site. And what does Google do with dormant sites? It buries them on page 20 of the Google Kitty Litterbox. Now technically, Google does not punish a website because it is old. But Google also does not have much reason to recommend a website that has no depth, no updates, no trust signals, and no clear answers. And AI search works the same way. This is where a lot of small businesses are vulnerable right now. They built a website years ago, they forgot about it, they moved on to Facebook and get a few leads from social media. They assume everything is fine. But here's the problem. You're on rented land with Facebook. You can use it and you should use it, but you don't own it. Facebook can change the rules overnight, and your rankings could drop, your page can get restricted, your posts can disappear in the feed. So if your whole marketing strategy depends on Facebook, you are building on property you do not control. Keep in mind that your Google Business Profile is local authority. Your website is your home base, and AI Search is looking for businesses it can understand, trust, and recommend. So if your website has been sitting untouched since 2019, 2020, or even 2021, it may not be helping you anymore. It may be hiding you. So here's what you need to do. Update your meta tags, fix your home page message, add service pages, add an about page, add reviews, add FAQs, add fresh photos, add trust signals, add local business schema, and connect your website, Google Business Profile, social media, and YouTube all together so they all say the same thing. Because AI Search is not just looking for a website, it is looking for a clear, trusted answer. And if your competitor's website is also dormant, hey, this is an opportunity. Wake up yours first because your website is not a brochure, it is not a business card, and it certainly isn't a digital paperweight. It should be your 24-hour trust building machine, but only if you keep it alive. And if you have no idea how to do any of this, send me a text 763 445 9327 or visit 7trillion.com.
