Ever wonder what a business coach for moms actually works on with her clients behind closed doors? This is the most requested episode topic, so I'm pulling back the curtain on the 3 biggest lessons I teach mom entrepreneurs right now, the patterns I see over and over, and the one thing almost every single client needs to hear. I'd bet it applies to you too.

In this episode:

  • How I work with mom entrepreneurs, from the free 30 minute systems audit to strategy intensives to my accelerator program
  • The content struggle I see with almost every newer mom business owner, and how a simple content umbrella takes the pressure off "what am I gonna post?"
  • Why your niche is an audience, not a topic
  • How to use AI tools like Claude to ideate, script, and write captions faster once your content umbrella is set
  • The funnel leaks that trip up established mom entrepreneurs, and why the leak is usually deeper in your funnel than you think
  • The sneaky mindset habit almost all of us moms have that's telling your brain you don't have time, when in reality you do

Okay, today I'm pulling back the curtain on what I'm currently teaching my mom clients. There are two big patterns I see depending on whether you are earlier in your business and just getting started or a little bit more experienced and trying to scale. And then there's also one thing that I see so consistently across almost everyone that I've worked with, like so often, I would bet money you're doing it too. Luckily, there's the easiest fix for this, and I'm definitely gonna share that. So stick with me just in case any of these are pain points of yours, because when you get these things fixed, I know this for a fact, it really starts to open up more opportunity for you. So let's dive in. Hey mama, I'm Dana. Welcome to the podcast for entrepreneur moms who are done being overwhelmed and are ready to thrive. This is where we skip the fluff and get straight to what works for moms in the business world. I went from feeling stuck and overwhelmed in my white coat to a CEO running a business I absolutely love. And now I help mom entrepreneur do the same. You're gonna get the strategy, the mindset, and the straight up honesty nobody else is giving you. So if you're ready to stop surviving and start thriving as a mama CEO, you are so in the right place. Let's get into it. Okay, everyone's a little bit different. They're in different seasons, a different part of life with their family, different part in their business. And so it's hard to really summarize everything, but there are definitely patterns. So let me give you a quick breakdown of my containers just so you have context of how I'm working with these moms. First, I do a free holistic systems audit, which is like a 30-minute call of me gathering information and pointing out to you what to work on next. Then I have strategy intensives, which are one-hour one-on-one sessions where we really focus in on a specific area of your business. So think time management, partnerships, reviewing your funnel, setting up your page, and then you get two weeks of one-on-one support to implement that. And then there's my accelerator program, which is my high-touch mentorship with one-on-ones and access to courses and resources. These are broken down into three different containers depending on where you are at in your business journey and how much support you might need. So, starting with the clients who are newer, they are probably within, I would say on average, a year of starting their business, it's definitely structuring their content. We spend a good amount of time here. I think content is something that people, gosh, I don't know, they feel is so important and they need to rely so much of their time and energy on. And I really work to break that toxic cycle because while content is important, yes, it gets your name out there, it allows people to see you. It does not deserve as much energy and stress as a lot of people put into it these days. And so the easiest way to fix this is we talk about this as a content umbrella. I'm a visual person. I have to think through things in a visual way to remember. So this really allows me to verbalize how to make sense of your content pillars and then allow you to continuously generate ideas. Because we talk about content pillars a lot, we talk about your niche and quick soapbox, quick soapbox moment, but a niche is your audience. You have a niche audience, you don't have a niche topic. So when we say pick a niche, you're picking a group of people to talk to, not a specific topic. So for breaking these topics and these pillars down into what you want to be known for, what you can talk about under that, and then what some specific buckets are below that. It really alleviates pressure of what am I gonna post about? Because I hear a lot of people tell me, I don't know what I'm posting. I don't have any pillars, I don't have enough to talk about. I promise you do. I promise you have a lot to talk about, a lot more that people are going to think are interesting than you could ever imagine. You just have to lay it out objectively. Once you can visualize what that looks like, what that looks like with the rain falling onto the top of your umbrella, down on the sides and into these buckets on the ground. I promise it makes sense when you actually work through this. It is so much easier to ideate and create content. And of course, I'm all about making things faster. So once we lay this out, you can put this exact document into a system like Claude, teach it what you want it to do. It's kind of where I come in, and then that will help you work through ideating, scripting, and producing captions, like just make it all run so smoothly. And I think that's really the best way to use AI in these situations because I don't want a bot telling you what to post. I want you to tell a bot what you are serving, the value that you provide, the people you were talking to, and how you want to deliver that. And then it takes that information and only works in that container to help you produce more and produce faster. Okay, now let's talk about what this looks like for the more established clients. I would probably say most of these clients are gonna be within the two to five year range after starting their business, um, consistently bringing in clients, but are just ready to do more, scale harder. And definitely the place that we work on the most here is their funnel overview and finding the links. Okay, now let's talk about the more established clients. The clients who are bringing in customers, clients consistently, but they are wanting to scale. They are bringing in less than what their goal is at this part of their business. Definitely here, we focus the most on their funnel, the funnel overview, and just finding the leaks in their current funnel system. If you want a really detailed overview of this, I created a YouTube on it. I will have that linked in the description once it goes live. I don't honestly know which one will go live first, but I will link it down there once it is live. Um, but people talk about funnels in a lot of different ways. People, I think some people also think funnel is like a bad word, like don't talk about your funnel. But everyone, literally every business has a funnel. You have a funnel if you are taking on clients because someone has to go through some sort of process of finding you to considering working with you to being a paying client. Like that is your funnel, whether you like it or not. And so I want you to picture your funnel as every client is gonna take five steps or however many steps to be able to work with you. Like they're literally walking up a staircase of steps. And at one point, there's this huge drop-off before the next step. That's your cliff, that's where your leak is. And it's only there because we haven't patched it. It's fixable. You just have to figure out where that cliff is that's making your client have to jump over all these obstacles to get to the next step. And a lot of time people think these leaks are bored top of funnel, like you're not gonna get enough eyes on your content, or you're not getting the right kind of eyes on your content. But when we take a moment and dive deeper and actually objectify this, if you haven't worked with me yet, you will very quickly realize that my favorite word is objective, objectify. We're putting actual data and numbers to what we are doing instead of feelings because that is where you find the momentum and actually get the true information. Anyway, so we will objectify all these portions of your funnel and figure out where that hole is so we can patch that specifically, watch it, trend it, and then see where your cliff is after that. Maybe there's not a cliff, that would be great, right? So I teach what that looks like as a whole. Even if there's not a leak specifically in your funnel, I'm gonna teach you what that step looks like because if you put together a new funnel for a different offer, if you start adding things or changing things, you have to know where to look and how to address that so you can assess it appropriately and fix the leaks in the future, too. Like I want to teach you how to do this on your own. So we are patching and we're also building and understanding the why behind it. So you're never cut off here. There's no ceiling when it comes to this. Okay, now here's the overarching consistent pattern that we talk about with almost every single client. And I want to be really careful when I talk about this because I do not mean this in any negative way whatsoever. Do not at me, do not come at me negatively. I mean, you can freedom of speech, but I do not mean this in a negative way. This is just something that I think is ingrained in a lot of us. I think, especially if you are a millennial, raising my hand, I am a millennial, that we have been taught to I'm gonna say it, over exaggerate how hard and how much stuff we have going on. Yeah, I said it. Are not making excuses, they are finding ways to continue moving despite how busy they are, how much they have going on, and the barriers that are being thrown at them. And I just feel like we we're in this society, and I think we're starting to slowly move past it. I can feel the change coming, but there's this like badge of honor when you say, I do all of these things, I am so busy. Oh gosh, I haven't slept in weeks because of work. Because I mean, children, you also might not have slept because of children, and that I'm busier than you are, like this competition of who is busier and doing more. And I think it's just we got to reframe that because the more energy you place on proving how busy you are, the less energy you have to actually get shit done. And so it starts to tell your brain that you actually don't have any time. And I'm by no means saying that you've got full hours every single day to get things done, but you have time. I mean, we focus a lot on the people who are the busiest, and I've seen some extremely busy women come through who are so successful because they don't let that be an excuse. And I've seen some people come through who honestly do not have the craziest schedules who let that be their excuse to not go further. And I don't allow that because if you're paying money to want to grow your business, you have to jump past that mental barrier. And so your words and those internal mental conversations you have with yourself go a very, very long way. So as you are speaking, as you're explaining your life and what you do, acknowledge the busyness. That's fine. Acknowledge it, but do not let that be your excuse. You don't do not lead with how busy you are. Do not lead with how, oh my gosh, I just have so much to do and there's no time for anything. Lead with, I'm gonna figure it out. Lead with I have 15 minutes before I have to go pick up the kids. Lead with time, and your mind will start to acknowledge that even though they're small pockets, even though it's not as much as someone who's in a different season than you, there is time and there is time to move forward with your business and your family and your ability to just scale. Your ability to scale. Okay. So if you've heard yourself anywhere in this episode, this is all right. So those are some of the biggest things that I see a majority of mom clients just need some direction on, need to talk through, need to address to be able to move forward. And if you saw yourself in any of that, if you have any questions, drop in on Instagram, send me a DM, happy to chat through anything. Um like I said, for those of you really wanting to do a more in-depth review on your funnel, I will drop that YouTube link down in the show notes as well as a like I said, for those of you wanting to look a little bit closer at your funnel and really try to optimize that, I'm gonna drop the YouTube link to that video in the show notes for you and you know where to find me. We'll be back next Tuesday and have a great week. Okay, so those are the primary things that I've seen lately with my clients at different stages. And I think if you heard yourself anywhere in this episode, just take a moment to recognize that you're not alone and that there are other women going through similar challenges in their business and their thought process. And that's okay. That's what we continue to do as we grow and evolve and go through different seasons of both our life and our business. So just take the information you can and try to move forward with each step in a positive way, and it will get you so so far. Like I said, if you want to look further at your funnel, be a little bit more objective there and see how you can optimize that. I'm gonna drop the YouTube for that in the show notes for you. And yeah, come say hi on Instagram and we'll see you next week. Okay, I'm gonna put this at the end where I know that I shouldn't, but I'm going to anyways. I want to make sure that you're getting value from these podcasts. And if you made it this far, I'm going to assume this topic in some way was helpful for you. So if that is the case, I would love if you took a second to press subscribe or leave me a rating. It helps so much more than you know.
