Yeah yeah yeah popping burning like this ain't checking my wrist play this my share wellin' not night life lakes we look at the eclipse these credits are lit lit stacking mass I'm far away from home my god welcome everyone back to the Daleks podcast I'm Dan I'm Alex and uh back here episode four Alex how good episode four so I thought like today we're gonna have a little bit of a fun conversation just having a little bit of a laugh talking about things so I thought we'd talk about favourite guilty pleasures what it is like so movie wise TV wise what are you really into at the minute oh right right now I'm actually re-watching Dawson's Creek absolutely elite oh so good like honestly I'm not like a big TV show watcher like I've only really gone into like three TV shows over my 19 years of living and the top three have to be Dawson's Creek Peaky Blinders and a bit of generic one but friends as well friends yeah I I've with friends from the years from years prep to years 10 every morning every night breakfast and dinner always wash friends so I don't you know what I don't mind that like I I I am big on Peaky Blinders Peaky Blinders one of my faves yeah gotta say new movie coming out we've been talking about that today yeah movie it's a big big movie big movie guy can't wait to watch it it's got Dorsers Creek Jesus what made you get into that because that was all like when that first came out everyone watched that yeah I know actually it was about last yeah it would have been year 11 year 11 and I really wanted like a new show to watch I didn't really know why I was watching it and then coincidentally a Carlton media thing came up and it was Ashton Moy talking about Dawson's Creek. I'm like you know what I'll give it a shot give it a give it a shot I'll see how it goes and I watched the first episode and I got hooked on it like straight away I'm like this show is like the best thing genuinely I I I don't know how far you're into it but honestly when I was a kid Dawson used to do my head oh bro Dawson like bro like man like just not mate genuinely have you seen the OC yes yes I I'm uh I'm up to season one at the moment I absolutely froth the OCA Mishka as well you know gush yeah yeah char Mishka Barton genuinely one of my favourite things as a man that was adopted as well I I wish I was adopted into a multi billionaire family no no offense to my uh parents there but genuinely what what is ins living insane nothing beats that first episode where I think Marissa is like who are you in and uh his name's Ryan yeah he's like whoever you want to do it's like the most iconic one I know yeah I've got to say the music of Dawson's Quake and the OC absolutely iconic only two shows you don't skip the intro with yeah you genu yeah genuinely it's funny it's yeah yeah I've actually got the LC theme music on my uh Spotify I rate that I rate that yeah best kill yeah yeah yeah it's so good and because you've got me running at the minute I I have heard that because it's usually about 25 minutes into the playlist so by now I'm about halfway is it go it shot on that LC you always have that one song and then you kind of know oh I'm the halfway point yeah and it's like a good song too. Well I always find halfway through with training session that's when I find I'm more tired yeah because your brain is like right halfway through oh shit we've got to do what we've just done again. Yeah but because California is such a quality song your brain's like kind of remotivated by it's actually it's actually a good song. I remember I was at an um I was at a party once and uh the Dawson's Creek theme song came on and big karaoke song. I I didn't know I didn't realize it was gonna be a big karaoke song but apparently half of year 11 watched the show so oh mate Dawson's Creek you know what it is absolutely amazing that show I I have wasted way too much time on that show. Oh so good I would I I I would have been younger than you when I last watched it like part of me wants to rewatch Dawson's but you know what it's worth it's worth giving a shot like could be a Dalek's watch along big Dalek's watch along and I I just just smashed the season can you do what I do because I made Mrs Pom hate Game of Thrones because I came late to Game of Thrones. Yeah so she was like a season ahead of me and I can chain watch so like I I did two days and got through the whole season one and then like I made her chain watch we we were ill I think we got gastros so we sing in bed and I made her watch like every episode again is yeah like I can fully chain watch a show yeah and not care. That's what I did literally for Dr's Creek I binged season like two seasons in like a full couple days I reckon like it was it's insane. I I don't I never noticed myself to be a binger but I binged the heck out of that show. You know what during COVID we talked about it the other day I I proper binge stuff and one of them I I don't know if you've seen it but it was huge like when I was like your age lost came out no I haven't seen it don't watch it generally I I will ruin it for those I don't even care if it's a spoiler the world needs to know basically it's a group of people plane crashes they're lost on an island oh jeez and basically it turns out that they're in purgatory. So it's like it's like eight seasons long you never know why and literally the end of it and basically everyone's already dead and they're waiting to go to heaven and hell. But like through the whole season like the first two seasons it's like survival and then like for some reason in season three they connect the dots that they've all known each other in a past life or they've had things happen. See that and they almost got shared memory and then there's like these weird like they think they're monsters but they're actually like the ghosts of death to take them to the next and it like got really trippy but I used forced to watch that for like four years my life yeah see I can't do I can't do like confusing confusing stuff like shall I find a destination so we last yeah so in summer me and mum like binged every single final destination like it it was great. The first four films I noticed were great awesome then like the last one came out we watched the newest one and it's like why why is this like low key confusing now it's kind of just VP in the same storyline like seven times. Yeah it's like got really confusing I'm like I'm lost yeah twists in movies and films are really in TV are really good. Yeah they're kind of vaguely logical yeah sometimes I feel like they like I always said this we've lost it was going nowhere quickly and then they just decided to go like extreme like I swear no one had the idea until the rating started to tank because we were sick of seeing guys on an island and then they were like let's make it like let's have monsters right let's have people randomly disappear and it's like okay and they just went with it and people sell it. It's like the end of Game of Thrones. I don't know if you've seen it I never seen game of genuinely I'm not gonna spoil it because it is worth watching genuinely though like honestly that is the worst final episode enough I've heard that it's probably the worst like like genuinely I wanted a year of my life back when I got because it was like it's such a disappointing end like such a great series and tell how it ends and it's like really there's nothing worse than like watching a really good movie and like a really good show and getting to the end and it's this like pop of shit. Yeah sometimes they like fast trap the end yeah like I heard they fast track the end I heard I I never I never watched Stranger Things but apparently the final episode of Stranger Things was shocking. What surprised me you know what I only ever got season one in Stranger Things yeah full caveat it is everything I love in a TV show for some reason I just didn't like it. I just haven't ever gone into it. I don't know what it is I just haven't been able to it was once they went to the upside down yeah everyone like froths and I'm like this is ridiculous. Yeah I just don't know it's something about like I really want to get into it because like I want another show to watch but at the same time I'm very comfortable just feel watching Dawson's Creek. He's saying good mate of mine me and Richie we fall out about this because he reckons one of the best scenes in TV history was where that kid's in the upside down and communicates with his mum through the Christmas tree lights on the wall. Yeah wild and he thinks that's like the best scene and like I said that's what made me start watching it. Yeah this is literally one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life absolute cinema. Yeah and and me and him have had massive arguments about this I'm like it's just so stupid bro yeah I can't do like I'm like pop I can do unrealistic but I can't do like extreme unrealistic stuff. That doesn't make any sense to like the storyline or anything like that. No I mean like I am a hundred percent with you like you know what I don't know if you've watched it the boys just really ended haven't watched the boys I want to watch it but I don't know really good to be fair like really good like shout out Homelander uh because I I genuinely enjoy a superhero that isn't nice a lot of a good anti-hero yeah a lot of a good anti-hero and I find myself at times there's certain things that Homelander does and I'm like I get him and then I start worrying about myself that if I've got homicidal traits but genuinely the ending I know everyone on Twitter cried about it. I genuinely actually enjoyed the ending of fair I I was like okay this is cool I can get around this good movie goodbye if it's a good ending man the hot makes the show even better yeah well it's people because it's comic book people complain because the comic book's better and I I try and tell people of that yeah we see I'm big on this if you've ever read a book which you sure everyone has yeah the book is always better than the movie 100% I'm like a Harry Potter. Yeah because you've got this thing it's called an imagination like like genuinely like one of the things that winds me up in the world is when people go oh books are better yeah no shit yeah it was a book first 100% like it it's like the movies of game yeah games back obviously yeah it what came first like it's the funniest thing or like when when games get turned into um movies or stuff like that obviously whatever came first is gonna be better I could get Harry Potter like Chamber of Secrets good movie books are better obviously we obviously we recently I recently downloaded an illegal version shout out legal version of uh Mortal Kombat allegedly I did allegedly yeah Kai be seed now uh and tell you free but of Mortal Kombat and it was purely because one of my mates in my group chat was like oh it's nothing like the games and like I was arguing with him going you do realize though that the movie you're not controlling the guy that's probably why but you'll you're probably confused like that usually you press down down one like square reason yeah or or like Assassin's Creed the movie. Yeah it's so shit but like it was like oh it's not like the game I wonder why and I watched it and like I actually said to him I actually don't get what you don't like about game the movie because I was like it is the character basically what was the movie going to be if it's like the game is it's gonna be continual two people fighting like and and then it discusses to a selection screen right I and he couldn't explain it to me but I was like watching it then mate all the characters from the game that were in the movie like our show is yeah I thought I I haven't seen it but from what I've heard they did a decent job of like trying to I you know not I genuinely I don't still to this day I don't understand what he's crying about. I I just I'd never watched the Assassin's Creed movie but apparently that's pretty shit. I haven't seen it yeah but she wanted to see it because he loves Assassin's Creed apparently that's pretty bad. So I don't know yeah you you know what I and this is a recommendation for everyone out there because I've got to get Zoe my wife into this one but my guilty pleasure and I revisited it recently was Vampire Diaries ooh interesting mum my mum's actually watched that I think she stopped half I don't know when she stopped but genuinely the best TV show apparently it's yeah apparently she loved it I'm gonna put it on record that's TV show now geez that good uh that good and and shout out one of my exes she got me into this and it was one of them TV shows that for the first four episodes I was like this is rubbish yeah and then we split up but I actually was like nah actually this is going to this is good this is a good show and it stayed with me loved it didn't like the Twilight films though never seen them see oh I haven't seen a lot geez thinking about I've seen this is like a new episode where we just we we show Alex bad movies uh I reckon this is good like it this it's introduced me to the bad bad movie side because well you know I hate doing the TV to books thing I've gotta say I watched the Twilight because I read the books yeah and genuinely didn't mind the books and like when everyone goes shiny vampires I get it is for people but in the books it wasn't as bad as it was in the tip in the movie. Books in general are way better than like I agree with you and I kind of think that scene is bad the sparkly vampire because maybe my mind didn't have it as stupid as it looked yeah bookies these guys look like there were yeah glitter on in the soul because you can like kind of picture in your own head but in the movie it kind of paints the picture for you and genuinely the vampires looked like they had glitter on that's wild shout out the shiny vampires though so so genuinely I remember watching it in the movies and my brain was like this looked way better in my mind such a disappointment too like it's like man why couldn't I be in control of this movie? Yeah yeah yeah it was it to be fair though I will concede this I can watch the Twilight movies but I would generally say if you've got an option please read the books the books are okay the books are okay watch the books guys watch the books yeah yeah I'll read the books but I'll picture books picture books I tried yeah picture books you you know what though like we're talking about different movies like Peaky Blinders I I enjoy Peaky Blinders because I like them kind of movies that are based on reality yeah and then you find out that reality is not quite like what you're watching but it makes you learn about that's what's really cool about Peaky Blinders that that a lot of it is kind of true. Yeah but they've created done creative license which I'm cool with and then that made me go and research the actual Peaky Blinders 100% is really cool learning about like the real Peaky Blinders. I I've been I'm really big on like the Assassin's Creed franchise so Assassin's Creed Syndicate based kind of around what Peaky Blind is kind of based around. That's why I got really into Peaky Blinders. I'm not someone if the first episode is slow there's a chance of me switching off it straight away my attendance pretty short but but something about this first episode just gets you hooked. I don't know what it was but it's a very good show I think they represent what it was or what life was back then pretty well. But I I don't know though. But I we I I thought you blindness was good as well because every episode something happens something interesting like it was something interesting gets you hooked like the next episode is based on that previous episode that you just watched so you're not waiting like a season to realise oh wait we have to go back all the way to season one to understand what they're talking about in season two. Yeah I I'm totally waiting like that I think that's what Pika Blanders as well every TV like every TV episode is good on its own as well. Like it it's got it's not like you have to wait for the next episode to catch because I always say this about Lord of the Rings and this is going to make people hate me. I've never seen Lord of the Rings I I've got to say I I loved the first one first one I was hooked went to see the second one and I didn't see the third one till 10 years after it because the second one I felt was just a waste of time and I'd waited a year and a half to see it at the movies and I generally sat in there and I've never been so disappointed in my life and I think so on see the third one nothing worse than that I I had an experience with two of my mates. So OpenHammer came out we honestly we only went to see that big action scene that they were saying is going to happen most disappointing for like shout out if you like open harm if you like that history stuff shout out you because you know it might might be for you but it wasn't for me and my mates we just went for the action scene the big bomb scene that was gonna happen nah didn't happen. That's like it didn't happen. Yeah yeah didn't happen and like it was kind of like really slow. I didn't realize I was getting into until like until we actually went to the cinema and because it's got the guy from Peaky Blind is in yeah it makes you kind of like think it's gonna be good because we'll see the following for my problem was I didn't actually research what the movie was about before going. So I said to my mate oh yeah I mean see in my head I'm like this is gonna be such an action packed movie I mean I I might Peaky Blind right I once I thought it was about time travel I don't know what what got me that idea but we get to the cinema and I quickly just go and view it just you know get get an idea of what I'm gonna watch and it's like oh no history movie oh no you know what I was we went to go and see the five nights at Freddy's the second one yeah with the kids I I took the how was that was it good it was actually alright to be fair but um I can't remember what movie they showed on there there was like a oh back rooms backrooms yeah I've I've seen about so we went and threw that and genuinely I don't want to spoil it for anyone but the best things are in the trailer like the best jump like genuine I don't know if I'm like the hardest man alive and I'm just not scared and like my son evidently has my DNA and he's not scared but we both said the same thing after watching it. Genuinely they've kind of ruined the movie because all the jump scares that would have been scary was in the trailer were in the three minute trailer and like he was just literally I'm really hating that with trailers yeah it was an hour and 20 for us just when jump stairs so bad because like so many movies are doing like even Marvel Trinity Satan's doing it now like they're kind of showing half the movie in the trailer like bro save it please like I want to go to cinema and be surprised when I'm watching it. Yeah look I I think I I understand they've got to make it excite in the trailer but yeah surely you've got more than three witnesses have it decided to sit there bad like surely there's like your cut ones yeah like like I said to David my son when we watched the back rooms I was like it was like there was like 25 minutes until we found out there was a back room yeah like and it was 25 minutes of literally I didn't need to know I'm gonna be totally honest like 25 minutes I could have been in an email LL genuinely the first 30 minutes if it was a human being telling you the story you would have said didn't ask it it was that bad and I I was sat there and I there was a point where I was like is this the right movie like like like this guy's having dinner with his I don't ask her ask the guy next to you Edbo what what movie are we watching mate? So so I didn't get it but then my I was thinking and me and David were talking about this surely if you've made the trailer and like you've gone through the film of what are the best bits yeah surely you must have realized oh this is the best bit I was putting the trailer the the 1 over 13 minutes are just trash aren't they like I would all when you do the trailer it's taking you ages oh god but this bit's good like that must have been like nah these are literally the only good bits that would have been the creakest job ever it's like you know football highlights when you like no offense to Paddy Dow I'm gonna pick on him but like Paddy Dow there's loads of highlights on YouTube. If you watch the highlights it's literally the five different passages of play yeah the same ones hands in different orders or or it's like a like when you watch like one of those really shit games and like you go to the highlights and like you can just tell the AFL struggled struggles so hard to put that YouTube highlight view out. Because it's just like that one passage of the fight I got on Instagram like all right yeah yeah the other four quarters I don't know I I and it's like it's like it would be like the Paddy Dell thing like some movie trailers like it'd be like if you got like a Chris Stewart highlight package I could do a highlight package for five minutes and you could yeah probably totaled five minutes totally different. Yeah if you did Paddy Dow we we have exactly the same one maybe the order of highlights would be different. Yeah but same five same seven kicks same kicks maybe the same handball when you decided to handball the ball but yeah it is fascinating like surely like this is a message to movie directors out there if your movie is a three minute highlight package yeah rewrite the movie yeah I don't mind the delay at that point yeah just to tell me hey look the trail is three minutes long but there's like the best eight minutes of the movie. Wait have you ever had a movie or a TV show you've been really or your mates have really recommended and got you really really amped for and you've gone to watch it and then it's absolutely rubbish and then you just hate your life because you don't know if there's something wrong with you or something wrong with them. Hmm or trying to think trying to think trying to think it's been a couple I think the one that's disappointed me probably the most was the new like it was like one of the new Star Wars movies. Yeah got me depressed. Like just the way they wrote it. I think it's the one where Ray becomes like the I walk on and that got me sad. Because I'm like, man, I was really amped for this movie. Like, I'm a big Star Wars guy. I love Star Wars. Man, I've been waiting for like a new movie to go and watch. And then this is what he's telling me. I used to really, I was so upset watching that movie. I you see, I'm a big Star Wars guy, and I was so excited about having a new Star Wars to show my kids. Yeah, the new generation of Star Wars, but and genuinely, I I I lost interest when they killed Han Solo off in like 15 minutes of cinema. And I was like, really? And and I I and this sounds horrible. Kylo Wren was might be the worst character. You know what? Some of a bash out. Like, generally, because when you see him as the knight, it looks really cool. And like I was thinking, this is gonna be cool. Yeah. The trailers lied to me. It looked like good, a good trailer team. Whoever's on this style was trailer teams made it. Genuinely, Kylo Wren at that time looked like he was gonna be the best bad guy we'd seen. Oh yeah. And then he looked like someone from high school musical. Yeah. To be horrible. But no, even when he has his mask off, like there's like, you know, the guy at school that's in the choir. I reckon he was in the choir. I didn't buy it. I didn't buy it at all. And I was very disappointed. And my sons hated it, and I've had to make them watch the older ones. The old ones are so good. Like I don't go past Foster Bacon's now. Yeah. Because I know anything after that's just even Foster Bacons, but if you I don't mind it. I like Foster Bacon. I think there's a lot of things. I can watch them. I can watch them. Like I will say, like far, five, and six, as I grew up with, they were the best. Like I I hate to be that guy. I do watch them and enjoy them. My favourite is probably the Skywalker. If I could someone say that's what uh New Hope, yeah. Yeah, New Hope. Yeah. Favourite one. It to be fair, it got me hooked on that. That was I think that's the first movie I can remember watching all the way through as a kid. Yeah. And enjoying it. I remember just it was a rainy day and they put it on VHS. Yeah. And I was like, what's this? Yeah. And like I was just in a good movie. Yeah, a good movie. And then found out that there was another one and then another one. Like we had them on. It's like if I love that when that happens, like when you watch a movie and then you realize, oh wait, there's more, there's like sequels, there's more. How good. It's like opening like a gold mine. Oh yeah, it's it's epic. It is epic. You know what? Like controversially, and this like separates the room here, but Transformers, do you remember that? I never watched it. Okay, well, you see, well, I need to like walk in and watch some movies. Well stuff. I think it would have come out when I was around your age, this first one. I would have been probably a bit older. But everyone, like we're talking, like, I'm not just saying like all my mates, I'm saying like the woman said it was good. I went to see Transformers and genuinely thought it was the worst thing I'd ever seen. And all my mates like went to conceit. Some of them went to Conceit two, three times. Like they were they loved it. And I do think it was because of Megan Fox came back. But I'm gonna believe them that they enjoyed the movie. I I for some it actually made me hate my childhood because I we had them as cartoons. I like the cartoons. I have it seen the cartoons though. Well you said I hated the cartoons after watching the movie because I was Oh, so it made you turn completely. I was like, this is so bad. Like it is aliens that are cars. Are cars, pretty much? Just it the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Like it made me made me question every like Independence Day is another movie, like Luke Will Smith, everyone loved that in 1995. God better. And I still to this day think it's a rubbish movie. I haven't seen that either. Oh my shit. Oh my god. People, people opening my eyes. People oversell it. Like yeah, like how many times have we done a movie, Aliens Invade Earth, or accidentally find a way to beat them? So I mean accidentally is the best thing. Always accidentally, it's right. It's never planned. There's some guy that's in like the science series like downed it. Yeah, do you know what I mean? Like they find a and it's always a weakness that is absolutely ridiculous. He's got a weak spot on his top of his head. Hey, you know, you know what? My my son, he shouldn't watch this, but he did because his mates like told him to badly. But you know, um Quiet Place, have you seen that? Well, the I haven't seen it, but yeah, I know what it is. Genuinely, how them aliens are killed as well, ridiculous. Yeah. Can we stop having ridiculous ways to kill dangerous things? Yeah, I think I think we need up our game a little bit. I I just thought the whole movie journal. I give me something new. I I do think we've run out of new ideas. I have a believer of this. That's why we're like remaking stuff into live actions. Like, look at um look at everything with Disney film getting put into a live action now. Yeah. I think we should stop doing that as well. Yeah, yeah. You see, you see, I'm with that because m Zoe loves wicked. Fair. Right. Yeah, we went to go and see that as the actual musical. Yeah, we went to go and see like in real life, real people doing it. And I genuinely enjoyed that. I was I'm not a musical guy by any stretch, but going to watch it, I was like, this is good. Yeah, watch the movie, the worst thing I'd ever seen. Like it it I realized why I hated musicals because I've only ever seen musicals on movies, yeah, and they're all rubbish. Oh, like I feel yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, actually, that's made me think of the most disappointing thing. Um, the Johnny Depp film, um The Barber. Barber. The Demon Barber thing. Well, what is it? The name's gone out of my head. It's like where he's basically cuts people up. Got me, I don't know. Well, okay, I didn't realise that was a musical. Oh, really? I don't know it. And genuinely, the trailer doesn't look like a musical either. It looks like basically it's like you go and watch it and it's a musical. Most disappointing thing I've ever seen. Um the name's gone out of my head and it's gonna annoy me. And someone in the comments are gonna be like, as if you don't know what that is. It's like English iconic story. But it is genuinely like literally, the whole storyline is it's a guy that is a serial killer that how he gets you in there, it's a Victorian barber, and he cuts your hair, but it kills people. Right? Absolutely. That's crazy. Yeah, and like the whole story is oh, you may have musical. It was just oh, yeah, and I got that. I never forget the first five minutes. Johnny Depp starts singing, and I'm like, I just thought maybe it was like part of his character, the words are cooked, and he's singing, and then it's just gonna go normal, but then like an hour in nah nah. This is a musical like Muscar. Yo, Johnny, bro, can you stop uh keep on singing? Because Johnny Depp never did anything like that. Nah. I would you think Johnny Depp, you I think past the Caribbean. Yeah, yeah, like sick movie, sick character. I don't think musical Johnny Depp. Do you do you not think that Pirates are Caribbean they could have stopped though like after two? Probably. I I do think I do think some movies love to just milk it. Like Toy Stories on at the moment. Yeah, so I I can't believe there's a Toy Story 5. Bro, insane. Like, bro, we're good after two. I didn't like number three. Nah, I'm with you. Look, I I thought it was look, I I'm not uh I like the first two Toy Stories. I've watched Toy Story 3 with the boys, I haven't seen Toy Story 4. I didn't even know it existed. I saw a trailer for Toy Story 5. I I refuse to watch Toy Story 4. Yeah, I refuse to watch it. Nah, no way. I'm big on my Disney like big Disney guy. Cars? Or Disney picks, I should say. Cars, Toy Story, give me those newies. Fool. I know line a line to cars. Can I just say cars is a guilty pleasure though? Like I there's some things that my kids have watched that I am sad they don't watch, but cars, soundtrack to that is absolutely quality as well. I'll just call it like so good, so good. Best soundtrack in in all of Disney Pixar films. One of you gotta give shout-outs to other movies, obviously, but cars, like life is a high race in there. Yeah, that that is like the theme music of like when my kids were like six, seven. Like it was just stuck in my head. Yeah, it's so good. Like, I remember got like growing up with that song. It's like every time I was in the car, life is a high like so good. Sticks in your head, yeah. You don't you know what as well, like the Disney Pixar movies, they are they are really, really good. I am gutted, my kids are like at that horrible age now where anything that's anime, unless it is actually anime, is they're massive on One Piece. One Piece. Which which we have massive arguments. Never got into anime. See, me and my kids, me and my eldest have this argument because he's like Zayn, my youngest, likes to watch cartoon movies, and he's like, Oh, they're for kids, they're for kids. Around like you are literally watching One Piece. Yeah, like it's not a cartoon, it's anime. Yeah, it's literally and yeah, basically the same thing. Man, it's so true. I I've I've never got into cartoons, uh never got into like anime stuff. Uh tried, tried a couple of times. I think I got to like two episodes of One Piece and like said, yeah, I'll watch it again soon and stopped to episode two, and that was in year ten. Yeah, but that they are upset. My son has got this weird thing as well that he will play a game on mute. So he plays like Fortnite on mute, which I don't know how he does. That's wild. Like Fortnite Mute, that's that's that's and and still does very well. You know what? Shout out! Like that. I'm like the guy's got like dolphin sense or something. But he will watch One Piece and then take it in while he's playing the game. That's insane. I can't I can't listen to music as I'm playing games. And I'm like, Yeah, how like imagine dying to it like this a kid that's like got the game on pure mute watching One Piece and you're getting slammed. Like, that's for wild. Yeah, he he will play it on mute. However, I will say I recently started playing FIFA, which is a football game for those who don't know. Um, I I've started playing that on mute, and I actually find that I am better on mute. Like, I do have a couple games. Yeah, I do have a couple games where I'll mute the game, put music on. So I couple get those games would be NBA 2K, big and big on big 2K, um The Crew, which is like a basing game. Um, what else we got? That makes sense though. Yeah, any any car game, yeah, any sports game, any like racing car game, like if you're playing Darwin full volume, just mute it, put some music on, and it's gonna be a good one. No, I I'm always saying, yeah, I started playing it on mute the other day, like a couple of weeks ago, and I actually found that like I'd I'd got back to Division One. Uh, because like, oh my god, maybe it's just the volume. It's him, yeah, and that guy. Yeah. I still don't like how you play a shooting game on mute though. Like, yeah, no, that's wild. Like, I'm big. I used to play siege with music on, and I used to get like I used to think I was so locked in, but he's kept being killed. So I stopped the music and I was like, oh right, it's crazy when you can hear stuff. Yeah, David's huge as well. Like, because he watches it as well with you know them uh can't remember what it is, but it's like he's got like the thing for deaf people where it like has the little icons. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Which all the pro gamers views evidently with sound the pro gamers have so much like like David was like pro gamers do it, yeah. And I'm like, okay. Pro gamers like have like their stretch reserve. Like, you know, it's that yeah, 4-3 resolution. I'm like, what? I'm like, what is going on? Yeah, David was trying to tell me the other day that I need to buy him a new monitor. So refresh rates, yeah, a lot of some good FPS. And I'm like, yeah, come on. You know what? I I I agree with him though. If you have good, if you have but if you have a good refresh rate, you know because see the pixels faster. Yeah, yeah, that you see he was trying to say it's the millisecond refresh rate, but it makes that much difference. And I'm like, just get good. Frames per second, man, they make that much difference. Like, just let me I used to play siege on like 60 fps and then got a new monitor, 200 fps, 300 fps. Oh mate, gun. It's it's that it's like that effect it has on you. So I'm him now. I can't believe that I'm being convinced. I'm telling you, man, it makes that much of a difference. Yeah, I can't believe I'd be that much of a difference. Yeah, he was trying to say it to me, and if you get yourself one, dad, you might be better like on FIFA, you might see it before the other person. The ball goes a little bit quicker, and I'm like, Does it I mean I mean like PlayStation stuck 60 FPS, that's what you got on PlayStation. But if you get a PC and you get good, like man, it's so good. Like, nothing's better than watching a clear screen. I can't believe that. Grow the convinced. I'm telling you, it you you don't notice it, you don't notice it until you notice it though. You know what, David, if you watch this and I buy you it, you better just like get battle rung hours every time it's gonna get you different, yeah. Fort get fortnight, get every shooter game possible, and you'll become like grand chant. Like genuine having to be monitoring how many times the ingredients would be about. But if you don't win at least 10 games of your first couple, mate, it's quality like on games. Like, do you do you still play computer games like you're always training? Yeah. Do you still have time? Uh every now, every now and then, not so much anymore. Mainly just because like by the time I get home, bit tired, just want to chill out, do do my own little thing, watch YouTube, uh Bosch Pomyon Oz, you know, on YouTube. Um, but yeah, if I do play games, definitely like a sports game at the moment or Siege of the Boys. But other than that, not not really. Yeah, you yeah, I I I'm a big FIFA guy. A big FIFA guy. Yeah. Uh and yeah, just recently me and a couple of mates have started playing clubs, which is one of the best ways just to absolutely ruin a friendship. Yeah, you know what? A couple games like that, like Monopoly. Yeah. If you want to ruin a friendship, just either get the unit cards or Monopoly board game and done. Uh and I'll admit I'm FIFA, I'm the bad teammate because even when it's my fault, I will like tell me. Oh yeah, I'm my done 2K. Oh, defeat the blame. Even if I'm playing so it and I'm just playing against computers and my teammates in computers, I will blame, I'll blame Victor Vembiam for not passing me the ball. Yeah, yeah, it's always good. Like we were talking about that earlier group chats, like COD. Like COD lobbies, oh cod, like like COD lobbies, they need to be bottled because they are like the last bastion. Yeah, have no morals. No one can like if you're hopping on COD, I think people know it's like a rule. You hop on COD, you hop in a lobby, fair game, whatever goes, goes. Whatever you say doesn't count, everything's allegedly in COD. I have never heard such bad language. It's an it's actually elite. Like they genuinely, like we we jumped on COD actually last week. Yeah, what one of my mates, yeah, and we were in like just a public lobby, and genuinely, I haven't played COD for about over a year. Hasn't changed one bit, and like it's literally as soon as you come in, like, and it's just some of the stuff, like I was on it, racist ass jumping. You're racist, that jar me, homophobic. Every word under the sun will come out when you play COD. Like, like, like if you've got a slightly peculiar voice, or if your voice is not deep enough, if you're a streaker, if you're like 12 years old, you're in danger. Do you dang your town? Like, like you know, if you sound old, you're a paedophile. Like genuinely right. I was with my mate and like like it was like quite like a culture shock. Yeah. Of like, my god, this is intense, bro. COD is like I thought CS was bad, like CSGO was bad, but nothing compares to a Call of Duty lobby. Yeah, especially with Proxy Chat. Yeah. Like god yeah. Like, like Nintendo wants to introduce out of Mario Kart, and I feel like Mario Kart's gonna become like the new COD. If you get Proxy Chat and Mario Kart, people get competitive, man. You're gonna be hearing some stuff on Nintendo. Well, you see, we we've got the we got the Nintendo, and like honestly, I'll like I I found myself, and this is the biggest compliment I can pay my sons. My sons have got quite good at Mario Kart. Now, I am the reigning defending undefeated champion as a kid in my house through my brothers. I think I'd lost like, not being big-headed, I think five races out of a million to my brothers. I've always been good at it, and they my kids haven't beaten me yet, yeah, but they're getting closer. It's good up again. I I have started trash talking to them, and sometimes I feel bad. A 12-year-old and an 11-year-old hopping some serious hate. I have maybe made some mum jokes. Because they are getting good. I I reckon that would be amazing online because I think even when we're kids, you know, we're just that that is, especially if you get an idiot who uses the blue shell, which should be illegal because but if there's in the blue shell, right don't. But yeah, yeah, and you're also winning it because you're the worst in the game. Yeah, you just hit the blue shell and it's like, bro, I hate that, especially if they're like right right next to you and they decide, you know what? Yeah, blue shell. Show you how good I am. It should be illegal, honestly. If if you look, blue shells should be illegal and really are. Yeah, the other one that gets me as well as the star. Well, you can literally just go on any part of the road, and it's like, you know, you're still gonna be super fast. It's yeah, as yeah, this you know what, you know what should just be rainbow road. Oh, that map should just be gone, bro. Yeah, rainbow blah, blah. Right. What do you mean is no this map is unrealistic? There's no such thing as rainbows in space. Yeah, yeah, you know the I actually reckon the most frustrating thing in life, and I know there's a lot of frustrating things in life, is you are second place in in Mario Kart, yeah, and you constantly get the green shells. Yeah, that sucks. And it's the same guys who are doing it, just spamming you, bro. Like, you know the bullet they give you in last place, and then somehow the guy ends up winning the race. It's like, bro, you don't get rewarded for being last, man. Yeah, I I I look the red shell that autos on, I'm I'm okay with that. But there is nothing worse as well when and I'm I'm guilty of this, just spamming behind with the green shell. Yeah, and you just mercilessly off, really help it happens. It's it's like it's like footy. You know, if the umpire's on your side, I'm with it, I don't care. But if they're against you, I'm gonna I'm gonna let you know about it. Same with the Mario Kart, same goes. If I get the green shells, you guarantee I'm using them. Yeah, guarantee it. That there is and I'm targeting the same person, I don't care. There's nothing worse. You didn't you know the one that always annoys me as well, actually, Mario Kart. And this was like it's such a niche one, but you know the one that makes everyone small. Yeah, yeah. Makes you like super tiny. Uh for some and then and they always combine it with the oil one so your screen does fall back. For some reason, that aggravates me. Like, if you use the ink, you're a dickhead. But if you use that that that that is for some reason, that angers me more than anything else. When someone even has it, it's shrinkalizer. Yeah, and like I just I I wish nothing but ill. No good. It's no good. It's such a yuck thing to do. Yeah, Diori, like you know, you're not sort of cool. Yeah, yeah, Diori, and yeah, there's nothing worse. Like, it's good, it's good value though. Like Mario Kart, that is the ultimate game. Oh, yeah, it's a good you know, you know what Mario Kart is, it's a good way to squash some beef as well. If you ever have beef or something like one be won me Mario Kart, see how good you're up. You haven't played it online, Mario Kart. Nah. Oh, actually once. It's actually quite good. Once on the switch, play that packs. Jeez, people get competitive, man. I never knew a kid's game could get that competitive. That that there is some people that are ridiculous on that. Like that that is quite weird because I did used to think I was the greatest of all time at Mario Kart. When you play that online, any game you play online, you just get humbled really quickly. Well, I mean, I remember when FIFA first went online, yeah, and I used to think that I was a god, and then like you play beat, like there's some ridiculous people. But people I swear to stone touch glass and just play the same game. Yeah like I was guilty of a siege, but I still made time to see daylight. Yeah, I I I I've had a couple of friends that have gone like that I've known people that have gone pro. Like, I I had a mate who was pro at CS, Counter Strike, in the NK, and like genuinely like when you used to play him AIDS to watch. Bro, and they the way they had the keyboard like tilted mouse is up here, the screens like right there, the mate, they insane. And and then he he'd let you have a go on his settings, and like the mouse is super sensitive, like one to move, and it's like he's just casually headshotting people. Yeah, bro, one Titan is like you're doing like a like three three sixties. Yeah, yeah, head jar lady. And it's like, how do you play like this? And then I want to know how you get that good. Yeah, it's right how you get that good. Like, you've got to be on practice range for like at least an hour a day. Like, like, yeah, fair play, like full respect. You know what I do. What makes you happy, man? That also makes you happy. Go for it. Yeah, like I sometimes watch people play FIFA professionally, and it's like absolutely disgusting. Like, like genuinely, like the way they control uh even their moot movies to the head and like everything's like very crazy. I don't know. Shout shout out, yeah. Like I uh David's really into Fortnite streamers, and some of that, like I don't like the building aspect of Fortnite. Yeah, like I was just never good at it. Like it is like adding Minecraft to a shoot 'em up grow up. Yeah. But like watching some of the things they can build in like 3.5 seconds. Yeah, it's insane. I'm like, you okay? It's insane. Like one second is nothing, four seconds later, it's like a 20 story building. Yeah. Just out of nowhere. Yeah. It's fully decked out, too. It is pretty good. Did you ever play Minecraft? Oh. Big Minecraft guy. How good is my you know what? Shout out my kids and Zaui. Zaoe is a massive Minecraft girl. She's got like she went from war world of Warcraft to like being addicted to Minecraft. Minecraft, yeah. Genuinely meaning me and the family have made a family world. Genuinely, I have to say, guilty pleasure. Yeah. I've started to enjoy that recently. Yeah. There's nothing something satisfying about when you're playing Minecraft at night, chill on the TV. It starts raining as well. Like that Minecraft rain sound is so Oh yeah, yeah. I've got to say the music's quite really exciting. Bro, one of the best soundtracks in games is Minecraft. Yeah, genuinely he's quite good. I mean, he's quite good as well, because with the four people in our house, Zoe loves collecting things. So when Zoe plays a game, she's like really weird. Like, you know, like like Tomb Raider or any game like that, or any raiding game. Zoe will empty everything. Yeah, she has to search everywhere. Yeah. I'm not that type of guy. I I'm let's just complete the mission guy. Complete it. Yeah. Like I ain't pissing about Diamond Side Quests. Like, don't dumb what some needs to be done. Whatever it says, objective, I am completing the objective. Side objectives, who cares? But Zayn, my youngest, he is real he's like me in Minecraft. He likes building. But David and Mum, sorry, they love going out and mining. So it's actually worked really well because them two will go off and come back. That's a good team. Two miners and then two um two goals. We're just we just love building things like like Zane's got really into redstone. Oh that's a kind of I remember when I got into redstone. So we're uh we're loving playing with redstone, but like them two just go out and they're having hours of fun killing zombies and collecting oz. And me and Zay were just like, cool, put it in the chest. We'll build something. What do you want? A farm. We'll make a farm. Make a farm, make a house, make a hotel, make whatever you want. Yeah, I was like, it is actually a really, I think underrated game. Shout out Minecraft, so good. Because so good. That game has been out forever. Then have we even seen like some of the YouTubers that do Minecraft? Yeah, stuff they but they got like 400-day hardcore world stuff. Yeah, Zoe watches quite a lot of these guys. Like she watches uh SB747. Yeah, who's like World is like fucking ridiculous 30,000 days? Playing on hardcore that if you die once, you lose it. You lose everything, yeah. You know what? I was watching someone the other day who made made like his town. Oh, like, like, like there they go. Like for block, he's made his own. I seen that on TikTok, and it's this guy that's recreating Melbourne City. Oh insane. He's like halfway done, like he's done Flinder Street. That's yeah, it's insane, bro. It's insane. Yeah, it was this like backwater town in America, and like he's literally like got like land ordinances from the live to make sure everything is the right gap away. Yeah, like this guy's got like a full um like a proper like software that you can make circles and everything in Minecraft, which is like illegal to do a circle in Minecraft or whatever. But he's got softwares, he's like recreating dimension by dimension, Melvin. That's you see he's got the MCG done, he's got flinders done, he's got that is pretty cool. To be fair, that is what we need more of in the world. It's insane. Like, use our talents, right? That you know what? Shout out to my mate, another mate of mine, Danny uh Asphyxa on Twitter. I'm on Twitch, but he does uh role play on Grand. Yeah. Well, indeed, yeah, yeah, GEA roleplay. Like guilty pleasure about is watching him because he plays a cop. A lot of them do, yeah. But like watching him, like genuinely, it's crazy. And like they're locked in. Because genuinely, like knowing him and having beers with him, the last person I'd want to be a cop is him. Is Danny. He's not legal, but I wouldn't trust him to be a cop. But genuinely, this guy, like it's crazy watching him because his voice changes. I he's genuinely saying fall into it, I fall into it. I've had like through him, I've watched some of his like online mates, and like some of them play Phoebe's and like they're they're they're living different lives, bro. Yeah, it's like literally their second life. I was like, this is off his head. It's insane. I always want to get into it, but I just don't have the patience. You know what? I have a character in his in his sort of well, I've done it a few times, and I'm like a dodgy pickpocket. There you go. But genuinely, I've got to say I can see why it's dictable, yeah, but it's something you'd have to devote a lot of time to. I understand. Like I had mates uh when I played C2, they were big role players in GEA. And I'd tell you, these guys are serious, they had Discord servers, they had rule books, they had they had everything, man. Like it's insane how deep they get into it. Like, like, like they they they do it seriously. But they got applications for this, bro. They got like he was actually telling me because we had a beer a couple of weeks ago, and like he said, Oh, I started out like as like they have like a nightclub there where he would bounce it. Yeah, you have to like make it very up to you by real life. He said that like he had to like shend streams to like the server owned there could actually be a policeman because uh and I was like, serious, yeah. Like no, it was like a job interview that I was like, What about a big guilty players of that? Like I was watching him, I was like, You're really good, like genuine, it's like watching a movie. It's like it is it is like they come up. Some guys I join TikTok live, and sometimes just sit there for five minutes just watching watching them go to work, it's insane. Yeah, I was like, this is actually quite cool, but then I got watching that there's a role play server. This was actually really cool because Zoe was like, we should join it. But it's like a real life role-playing server on Minecraft, like where yeah, it's like like there's like a like an area that's like they call it the survivors, and like it's like a free, it's like a safe cave and it's been guarded. And then there's like rogue guys who are if you go out collecting resources, they find kill you and stuff, and then there's like little trademarks, and I'm like, he's actually quite fit-head, bro. It's I like gaming, like is it's off his head at the moment, like all his role-playing stuff like crazy. It well, I was watching because like Zoe was watching like a YouTuber that started off and he's gone like done like a solo mission because I love Daisy. I don't know if you've ever played him. Play Daisy, he's back with like like uh there's a guy that I watch called Jay, and he's like absolutely mental. That's the guy on the motorbike, yeah, that has a motorbike, kill zombies, and what yeah, yeah. And like he it's like that's like got so many people on it, and like he he like goes on these toxic servers. His his his whole mission is he goes on and he's like really good at the game, but he tries to find like noobs and stuff to take down like people who have like big factions that have running it for everyone else. That's like Rust. You ever played Rust? I said I got I never really got good, like good, good at Rust. Like, you need like thousands of hours to be like decent. I got like 200 hours on it, and I'm still so bad at it, can't build, can't do anything. But geez, the people that play Rust talk about role-playing geez, they go insane. Yeah, like you know what? Watching people play like Rusted Daisy, you can see why there's so many bad people in the world because some people are absolute dates. Like I've tried to get my eldest into Daisy because I play Daisy quite a bit. I I'm I like my zombie survival game, and I like to just keep myself to myself and collect stuff and build guns and collect collect my armory. It's a good game, it's a good chill game as well. It is good it look, but there is some people on that that are absolute idiots on it. But then like I said to I was saying to David, it's actually probably a good life lesson for you because unfortunately there's people like that in the real in the real. It's probably the same people that play in those games. Yeah, it's gen it's genuinely like absolutely crazy though, but like the mole-playing games, man, like that's it's pretty impressive. Like I was watching this Minecraft one, but like someone's like like made like a has like a like a school of teaching people how to make portions. Yeah, and I'm like, what? And people like get really play into it as well, like they don't just mess around. It's like if you're playing it, you're not messing around, like it's puffer. Yeah, like watching Danny play it, like people like take this, and like then it's like a big serious thing. If people don't take it seriously, oh yeah, like you get kicked out straight away. And I'm like, it's crazy because he was like talking about this car the dealership. I was watching it, and like it was like people actually like don't rob the cars, yeah. And there's like an unwritten rule that you actually do buy the car for him, and I'm like, yeah, the unwritten rules in like roleplay is big, like big unwritten rules, like but I I I went deep dive in his roleplay server that he's on, and there's like like like there's like discords. I was going for like Discord and there's like like freaking like storylines. There's like there's like discourse for each like a role you play, and there's like discourse for the storylines and each storyline that you play. It's like just geez, it just goes on and on and on. Yeah, because there's another guy that does it and he plays a cop, but he does his whole stream. This is in the sign where he narrates what he's doing. Yeah. So like so like he is like sat watching TV and he goes into like the narration mode, and I'm like, like, I was like, this guy is playing games, but also at another level of playing a game. Like it's playing games and it's playing games, you know. You know what's crazy as well is because on GTA you can emote, like like sat down and stuff. What trick blags my head is like they start emoting so it looks like they're having a real conversation. And like my brain is like the level of detail you are playing the game here. Like they're playing again the way the game like developments like wanted you to play the game. Yeah, and like they're using the emotes the right way. Like in GDA, you can just stick up the finger whenever you want by holding it right. So just have me and my mate play it. These guys wouldn't even dare doing that. They they would use it just as like a proper genuine thing. Yeah, you know what makes me laugh as well, because my mate's a cop is he drives to the speed limit. Yeah, and they stop at traffic lights, so they actually obey the rules. But I was watching him going, I have never stopped at traffic lights. No, like not in games, the guy I'll drive on the foot buff and everything, mate. I can't. I was saying to my mate, like I watched his street ages ago, and it was like he was just doing a patrol, yeah. He's stopping at the traffic lights, and I was like, You're the first person I've seen stop at a traffic light who hasn't crashed into the tree. Yeah, and it's not actually at the line as well. Yeah, I was like, Yeah, it's insane. Like, if you're driving this feeling usually in games, I think it's gone mental. But shout out to them. Mate, look, shout look, commitment. Commitment, mate. Downtime's important though, and that's what we wanted to talk about in this episode today. Like, just sometimes just having a conversation about things that you enjoy, yeah, is good. I mean, like, hopefully we see a lot of these like niche conversations, like hopefully we see Alex this time that's week he's binge watch vampire dial. Oh, you know what? I think I need binge watch a lot of shows at the moment because like apparently I haven't watched one thing besides Dawson's Creek and Dawson's Creek is amazing. It is. You know what Al You know what Alex is a good guilty pleasure? I actually really enjoy a good rom-com as well. You know what? Genuinely. A really good rom com. Like Zoe's the worst woman in the world because she doesn't like rom coms. I eat who likes rom com. I love rom-coms. I've got a guilty rom-com pleasure. Yeah, I'm big on um tempting to hate about you. Aya, that's a good movie. Um then you got what's the other one? Geez. How to lose a guy in 10 days is another one. Um but you is another one. That that's pretty good. Oh, he's he knows. Some there's some good ones out there, man. Year 11, year 12, Alex was a girl's dream, I thought yeah. Locked in on the rom-cons, man. Like, absolutely loved it. Uh who else? What else? Um pros was an old leg we're gonna. Oh yeah, very good movie, good shout out. Mum mum gave me that shout. She was like, give that show. I'm like, I bet. And yeah, yeah, Zoe's like weird, she doesn't like them. She likes the romantic dramas, like like like you would imagine without stereotyping girls like them types of movie. But Zoe's not a rom com type of girl, and others are like, really? What's wrong with you? Then Zoe's more romantic evenings, like watching like I thought it came with the I th I thought it came like with the um with the job being a girl, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, generally I I thought like Zoe would rather like have a romantic night watching Saw. Saw. I've never which I gotta say, the Saw movies, we were talking at the start to pivot back of movies that went on too long. Saw. Oh yeah, yeah. Like I I I like Saw like up to about Saw 2. Saw three was okay. After that, we started to get some absolute ridiculous storylines in it. Yeah, fair. I was like, okay, like how many times are we gonna kidnap someone for them to learn a lesson by cutting their hand off? Yeah, fair. It's always the same story line, it's different actors. I've got to say, Saw one might be the best movie I've ever seen. Geez, to be fair, like just in the terms of from what I expected. Yeah. Well, if you if that's what you're expecting, then yeah. It was described to me as imagine two blokes are locked in a freezer for two hours. Yes, how my mate describes it. And he was like, it's really good, though. I'm like, yeah. What two guys are locked in a room for two hours is good. He was like, nah, nah man, like, trust me, bro. Yeah, yeah, and I I I saw stress team, bro, and genuinely, if I apply to him, actually worth it, would do. I wish I had the first time again. Because it was one of them even worse when you find out that the guy who invented Saw wanted to just do it as a bet to prove in drama that you didn't need a big budget to make a movie. You know, that's a good that's a good show from it. It's a good it's a good show. I just yeah, do it. Like, like just to prove when people you need big budgets and big storylines, they wanted to do it on the chip. And I was like, well, actually, really good. Just got stupid when they tried to milk the storyline. Anytime movies try to milk it, it's just like, bro, pack it up. Or it's like you said final destination. Yeah, final destination milks it, bro. Like, because there's a new one coming out. Yeah, there's a new one coming out as well. I'm like, bro, it's good same again, same movies, different actors, same storyline. This guy gets killed, that wasn't meant to get killed, then you're gonna get killed. Oh, it goes in order. Oh, guess what? The last two guys are survived, you're gonna figure it out. Because the back rooms were once because the back rooms, my oldest son, there was a trailer for it. Yeah, and like the chick fought, like his falls in somehow ridiculous, falls into a trash compactor. Yeah, it's ridiculous. The way they get killed, it's crazy. Yeah, but David was like kind of like, oh my god, this looks amazing. Yeah, because I've seen like six final destination. It's like it wasn't I'm kind of desensitized to you accidentally trick into something stupid and then die a real hollow away. The first two got me a bit freaked out, especially like the one with the wood, like the the truck and the wood. Yeah, that one got me a bit freaked out. Um no, one thousand percent. I I I still I'm just like, bro, usually, you know, you be careful. Like still to this day, actually, because of that scene, I still am dubious if I'm parked. I'm in in like traffic jam and there is a massive I tell mind be going to the other lane. No, right. Generally, yeah, there's a part of my brain that's still it's like since we Yeah, I think I don't want to be in it, I don't want to be the leading actor in it. Go to other lane. Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. I have an irrational fear now if I see anything that is long and sharp on a big load. Yeah, so true. What about like what about things like you want to do? Anything you want to like learn and do? Like outside of like being on YouTube and stuff, what do you enjoy? You know what? I'd like to I've never done this. I want to learn language. Fair, fair. Because as school, I just didn't try with languages. Yeah, no, neither did I. I I didn't never pick doing Italian. Uh yeah, and I've got a few mates who can speak two languages, like yeah. I've got I've got I've got a few of those mates as well. They can speak fluently in other languages. Yeah, being in Australia because it's large immigration, like we could have learned. Yeah, like like I've got a good mate of mine, like But I need to learn how English works first before No, I agree, but I've got like a mate, Michael, who's never lived in Italy, but his his family come from Italy, like were born there. Yeah, and like he picked up Italian and he speaks it fluent with an accent, and he's only been to Italy like six times. It's not like he's lived there, and I I actually find that genuinely off his head. Yeah, I want to go to Italy, but before I go, I think I need to learn just a couple of conversations. I think it would be rude not to. It's crazy because like it you I mean, unfortunately, being like born as an English speaker, everyone speaks English. Uh there isn't a need to speak it, but it is really like I've worked in golf with like people from China, and like they can speak two forms of Chinese and English fluently. And like, I'm like, yeah, I'll struggle to speak English. I get my words mixed up. Yeah, no, I I only just barely speak this language, let alone speaking an extra language. Yeah, but yeah, I'll I I need to learn English first, trust me. You know what? I went to school with a guy called Harry Joda, who uh he actually acts, he works at Heathrow as a translator, yeah, but he speaks seven different languages to a fluent level. And I was a I sat next to him in French, yeah, and like this kid was there was something wrong with him. Yeah. In the terms of like he'd just pick it up. Yeah, yeah. Like you'd be sat next to him and like bros suddenly fluent in French, like, but he's it, yeah, I'm fluent in that. Yeah, you're like, and I remember he I remember this was how like I just had a passion for it, like yeah, but like I remember he like part-time did Latin fair like for fun, for fun, it's crazy. Latin for fun is like like the loans, just for the haps, like like I I'm there in French going gem, Merpeel, Daniel, and bro, he doesn't like that saying in French joy, yeah. And like bro, next to me is learning languages just for hounds of buttons Dolingo, like streak 1000. Like, like, like I'm like, fair play, like, like I wish I had this commitment. Like, I'm still like just to speak English, mate. Like, good shout out. Oh yeah, genuinely. I remember going to a school reunion a few years ago, and like I asked him, and like he he learnt Mandarin, yeah. And like he Mandarin is a hard link. And like genuinely he learnt it because like someone went off sick and they had to get someone else, yeah. And like he picked it up in six months. Yeah, like it's gross, that's crazy. Hey, you did it just because you were bored, like any yeah. Anyone that says I was just bored, so I just did this, it's like, bro, you know what? Yeah, I I like when I'm bored, I make myself a chicken sandwich. Yeah, usually when I'm bored, I'd like to figure out I can do oat recipe. You know I'm like I'm not that learning mandarin. You know what? Nah, there's some guy I watch on YouTube, yeah. Like is like he picks languages up. Yeah. And like teaches himself it. And some guys are really good at it. Like my mate does grill. Yeah, my mate, every l like every sport class, you know, just on Delingo, just learning a new language. Like, bro, in sport. Enjoy enjoy enjoy the practical. It's like, nah, yeah, lingo. Some people are just gross. Like, what's one thing you'd learn? Or I think I was telling you earlier, I want to learn how to surf. I write this. I want to learn how to surf. Like, literally, the only two places I've really spent a lot of my time is is in the gym or at the beach. So I feel like going, I I want I want to go and learn how to surf. Like, from memory as well, you need quite a lot of physicality to do surfing. It's quite yeah, I I've heard that. Like, I'll you know, I think I'm a total product because like I've never done it. I think I I'll pick it up easy, but I'm not. Like, I feel like I need a big coordinated, yeah. I I reckon you do it. I mean it's gonna take heaps of practice. My coordination skills isn't that good. Are they though? Are you a good boxer? Yeah, good boxer, but not in every other aspect. Because boxing's all about balance, yeah. It's all about balance. So the balance part I come okay with, but like the coordination of hands and feet, like or can you skateboard? Never tried it. Are you roll-blooded? Never tried it. Really? Nah. Wow. Nah. I'm already a scooter. Does that count? Scooter. But jump in the deep end, you know, learn how to surf. You know? Get the um I write this. Yeah, so it's a good I think it's a good little um good side side piece, you know, some good downtime, refresh, you know. I mean, look, you've done the hard part, you've got the beach body. Got the hard part done first, yeah. Now it's time to like like now you've got the easy part. Yeah, now it's just learning how to do everything else they can't do with it. Like, like language here, you've learned Italian. Yeah. Now you've just got to fly to Italy. Yeah, now it's got to go Italy and put in practice. You've done the hard bit. But like generally, like, if I'm on the gym, I'm at the beach, like having a coffee or something like that. So, like, why not learn how to surf as well? Yeah, I mean, look, to be fair, you you do live in the capital city. I mean, to be fair, if I was back in England, yeah, and someone said what's one thing all Australians do, I would say surf. Yeah. Like, shout out, you know what, shout out Charlie Kerner, going to Sydney. Good surfing, good surfing beach. To surf. To be fair, a lot of footballers surf. Yeah. Like Ton De Coning, Charlie Kerner, like Bailey Smith, like a lot of them surf. It's insane. It it was like when I lived in the UK as well. The amount You know what's funny though? Half of them all have abs as well. Well, I mean That's the only ones that like mainly surf. Yeah, to be fair, you can see it, you can see it. But I mean, it's weird how some sports have sister sports. So like AFL, everyone seems to surf or golf. Yeah. Like when I was in the UK, the amount of soccer players and cricketers who golfed. Fair. It was like a lot of foodie players uh golf, don't they? Yeah. Like they all they do is golf. It was one thing I noticed, like working in sport, yeah, everyone did golf as their second sport, which would then piss me off because I'm like golf's a first sport. Yeah, yeah. Especially if there was someone good at it, like and I'm like, it's quite disgusting that and they're just doing it for the this for the happen to them. Yeah, do you know what I mean? That you are elite at another sport and also very good at this sport, like bro. It's so true. Like, come on, leave something for like a professional athlete in one sport, could be a professional athlete in another, like wild. Yeah, I think it's A B De Villiers who like represented his country at cricket, golf, and could have played soccer. And I'm like, man, like yeah, save some spot for other people, yeah. Proper hybrid athlete. Like you're better than this. Like at least some for the best of us, give me some skill. Like, like deliberately be bad. Right. Like deliberately be bad, it's good. I I would like to think I could go fine footy, just because of like you look, I know how to sprint fast. So like jeez, imagine that. Should be fine. Should be good. I can learn how to kick later. Don't need the kick anything. I mean, to be fair though, I mean look, we're counting fans, a lot of people are on the list that don't have kick. Yeah, so like kick yeah, kicking kick can come later. As long as you're fast and like know how to run, sport's easy. I mean, look, you're halfway there. Sport's easy. It's all physicality. Yeah, it's be be just tackle, learn learn how to tackle, know how not to get tackled, run around. Well, I mean, I'll love it. I mean, look, tell you what, ladies and gentlemen, tell us something that you want to learn to do. Yeah, you've heard us you know what, maybe we can see this time next year if we can I can do the show in a foreign language and maybe I can just surf, yeah. Hopefully. Can't be that hard. Surely. Hey, I reckon that'd be good, but as always, make sure you hit the like and subscribe. Thank you very much for listening to us ramble on. And we will see you next time. See you later, guys.
