Good day. This is Dr. Jana Price Sharps from drjana.com. I am so excited. This are is our first podcast. And I wanted to explain a little bit about why I'm doing this. I have been a psychologist since the early 2000s. And before that, I worked a lot in drug and alcohol treatment. I also worked with people that were severely depressed, suicidal, maybe having issues with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia. And eventually I went on, and what I do currently is I work with first responders and their families, combat veterans, and people that work in emergency services. But I wanted to expand my message to the general population because I also teach courses and I find that people really are struggling right now. And there are so many wonderful, simple things that you can do to have a better quality of life. And I wanted to share those with people because if I can help you make one small change that can shift your whole family system or your whole life, that's awesome. Everything that I talk about here won't be immediately pertinent to you. Maybe it won't be pertinent today, but maybe a year and a half from now it will be. So this is not a long podcast. Most of my podcasts are going to be 10 to 15 minutes. Every once in a while I might bring somebody in and it might be a little bit longer. But the reason that these are short is because I want one point to be articulated and then allow you time to think about it. So I think sometimes if you grab something that you're like, ooh, yeah, I gotta remember that. And then the podcast goes on to other points, sometimes you forget that point. Sometimes it gets lost. And I don't want these to get lost. I want you to hear them. And if they work for you, and again, not everything is gonna work for you, but if they work for you, I want you to grab onto it and run with it. And so often I see people waiting for other people to change so that they feel better. And unfortunately that won't work. You know, we can wait all day, but if your friend or your fiance or your significant other, your spouse, even your friends, even your colleagues, they may not change ever. And so there you are waiting for that. Don't wait for that. Take action. Figure out what you can do to make your life better, and then take action and do that. Write out a plan. So these podcasts are meant to give you possible coping strategies, possible techniques, possible ways of shifting your life a little bit so that you feel better. Because the goal of this podcast is to help people be happy. It isn't so much about insight and knowing why you're doing what you're doing, although sometimes that can be useful. The focus is on changing your life so you wake up in the morning and you're happy. You wake up in the morning and you think, you know what, I can do this. I have some great things in my life and I'm gonna build some more things in my life. So that's the whole focus of this podcast. So I hope you subscribe. Thank you for joining us, and I hope you have a wonderful day. Take care. This is Dr. Jetta Price Sharps.
