Connecting with SuperKate: Exhausted, overwhelmed, but still believing change is possible.
You keep telling yourself you’re fine.
You answer the emails, talk to the teacher, get the dog to the vet — all while holding everyone else’s emotions together and promising them it’s going to be okay. No one questions it because you’ve been doing it so long the anxious stomach flutter and tight shoulders have become your baseline.
At the end of the day you collapse and scroll. The animal videos seem to quiet the nagging internal voice, until the news reminds you how bad things are and you go back to thinking you’re not doing enough. So you keep adding things to all the lists you have to feel like you’re being productive. You tell yourself you’ll figure it out next week. And next week comes and goes.
You’re not broken. You’re exhausted on a level you can’t quite explain — and somewhere underneath it all, you know something has to change. It was all supposed to be better than this, right?
I’m SuperKate, your somatic life coach. I’ve been that person, hoping that if I just kept telling myself “it’s fine” then it would eventually come true — even though my body never believed it. Connecting with SuperKate is where working moms, female entrepreneurs, and women caregivers come to feel better — one small shift at a time.
You don’t have to have it figured out. Neither did I. But I’ve got you.

Welcome to Connecting with Superkate. I'm Superkate, your Somatic Life Coach, and this week's episode is a guided meditation. I will be releasing these meditations once a month, and they're really meant for you to take time for yourself, to take a few minutes to connect with your body, with your mind, so you're able to be present for a few minutes. And hopefully you'll incorporate this meditation weekly into your practice, into your life, allowing you to find more calm, have less stress, and be able to be more present in your life and in the lives of those you love. All of these meditations can be done seated or lying down. Whatever you feel is more comfortable for you and what is available to you in the moment. If you're driving, please don't meditate unless it's simply being focused on your driving. And figure out a time when you're going to come back to this episode and really be present for yourself and for your body. So take this opportunity now to sit or lay down in a comfortable position. Perhaps you need a pillow under your head or a pillow under your knees. As you get comfortable, letting your arms relax in whatever comfortable position you can find.
SPEAKER_01Just noticing noticing how your body feels in the position it's in the floor or the chair Noticing the air around you what do you smell? What do you hear? And if you feel comfortable and safe to do so, slowly closing your eyes and bringing that attention inward.
SPEAKER_00And as you're here in this moment, imagine you are in one of those lush green forests where the forest floor has a plush layer of moss traveling over everything.
SPEAKER_01And as you lay down on the moss, it is the perfect temperature. It is the perfect plushness for your body. And as you relax into this position, gently cradled by the moss, you notice how clean the air is. Every breath you take, you inhale all of this clean, crisp air. You are clearing out a lifetime of energy and bits that no longer serve you. As you inhale, moving that inhale deep into your belly, expanding your ribs.
SPEAKER_00You feel that fresh air traveling all the way down to your toes.
SPEAKER_01You feel that fresh air traveling all the way out to your fingertips, traveling out through the top of your head, and your body is so completely relaxed in this green, cushy wonderland. Above you, you can see these towering old trees, and this green canopy where sunlight is trickling in.
SPEAKER_00Every once in a while you feel a sparkling tiny ray of sunshine dance across your face. You feel the forest floor giving you that sensation of comfort and nurture.
SPEAKER_01As though Gaia herself is holding you, holding you so you have the chance to relax a little more. You feel a breeze gently travel over your body, and you begin to sense the root systems of the trees beneath you.
SPEAKER_00As you inhale, it's as if you are sending that inhale down to the roots. And you yourself are sending roots down to meet them.
SPEAKER_01Your body is being held and grounded in this moment.
SPEAKER_00You are receiving all of the magnificent nutrients from the earth coming up through this root system. This root system that you are building at the same time that you are inhaling all of this fresh air.
SPEAKER_01Every breath inhaling and exhaling. Every breath relaxing you. Inhaling the fresh, crisp air.
SPEAKER_00Exhaling as you feel those nutrients pulling up from the roots that you have grown.
SPEAKER_01Inhaling and exhaling. Inhaling and exhaling. And now that you have relaxed your body, every inhaling you notice how relaxed your toes and ankles are. Every exhale, you feel your hips loosen, your legs relaxing deeper into that moss. You feel the expanse of your back along the forest floor, and you sense the lengthening of your neck and the lengthening of your arms.
SPEAKER_00Knowing you have built up some new energy reserves. And you get to carry this relaxed, grounded, rooted self through the rest of your day, through the rest of your week. You carry this energy, this reserve to be used when you need it most. Now that you've given yourself this moment to connect with your breath, to connect with your body.
SPEAKER_01Take a few more deep breaths. And you feel those roots gently releasing.
SPEAKER_00So that you have the ability to move just a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Perhaps you move your hands and fingers. Perhaps you move your toes. Perhaps you gently move your head from one side to the other. And whenever you feel ready, you gently roll to one side if you're lying down.
SPEAKER_00And gently opening your eyes and just noticing where you are in your space.
SPEAKER_01Slowly coming back into your present day.
SPEAKER_00Still feeling the grounding that those roots gave you are giving you. Still feeling that new reserve of energy that you have built up.
SPEAKER_01And when you feel ready, slowly standing or sitting up. I want to thank you for joining me for this meditation.
SPEAKER_00Tune in every week. I will be releasing an episode here on connecting with Supergate. And every month you'll receive a new guided meditation. I encourage you to use these meditations a few times a week because prioritizing your connection to your body and your mind is the key to calming your nervous system and being able to navigate this world from a more grounded place. And that grounding gives you more energy. More time with your friends to be in the moment with them. Again, thank you for tuning in. And I look forward to connecting with you again. Have a wonderful day.
