How to Shift Your Identity | Conscious Growth & Self-Mastery
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Your Identity Is the Portal to everything that you desire. But most people misunderstand identity work.
You don’t need to become someone new to manifest your dream life. You don’t need a new personality, a fake confident version of you, or an alter ego. You were already born with a powerful, soul-aligned identity. What holds you back is the “matrix identity” — the version shaped by fear, trauma, social conditioning, and old stories.
In this video, you’ll learn how to shift your identity in a healthy and grounded way. We talk about conscious growth practices, inner healing journey work, shadow work healing, and real self-leadership skills. This is about conscious awakening, self-mastery, and becoming your higher self through daily aligned action. When you heal your mindset and reclaim your truth, you design your life from clarity and purpose.
If you’re on a self-mastery journey and ready for personal transformation, this is for you.

Welcome back to Break Free. I'm Kristen Shea, and today we are going to dive into identity because identity is the portal to everything that you want to create and experience in this world, in this lifetime. It is how you tap back into the true creator energy that already exists within you to become the creator of your reality, not just the manifestor, but truly aligned with divine co-creation and literally making changes in your life as well as the world, because identity is going to be a huge theme for the next 19 years. Pluto has shifted into Aquarius and it is there for the next 19 years. And Pluto is underworld transformation. It is diving deep. And with it being in Aquarius, this is also about community and a lot of massive change that we're going to see. But it starts with you with that internal transformation, especially if you identify with being like a mission-led soul, a light worker, a starseed, a chosen one, someone who is here to impact great change on the world. You have something that you know you are meant to share with the world. This is where that starts is that internal transformation to become who you truly are and begin to express yourself to create the outer transformation that we all came here to have that impact on this world. So identity is going to be a massive theme. And if you are not already feeling it, you can expect to feel it. And if you are already feeling it, it's time. That's your soul calling you to step back into your true soul level identity. So that brings me to point one of this whole video. Is this different than what you'll probably hear in the personal development community and anyone who talks about identity work because we are not creating a new identity, we are not upgrading your identity, we are not reinventing ourselves, and we are not creating altered egos. This is about returning home to your soul-level identity that already exists within you. It's just wrapped up in what I call the matrix identity. The matrix identity is who you had to become in order to survive this world. It is an identity that is based out of survival, that is based out of matrix programming, that is based out of your childhood wounds and traumas and experiences. It is who you had to be in order to survive. But we are shifting out of survival. Pluto and Aquarius is asking us to shift out of survival. And if you're here today, your soul is calling you forward into this change. You're ready to become who you always have been underneath this matrix identity. You're ready to step into who you truly are and to bring that into the world. The other part of this is that your perfect soul level identity that you were born with before trauma, wounds, human suffering, the human experience got its hands on you, before the matrix programming got its hands on you, your soul level identity is perfection. It is your divinity. And that has and carries the soul blueprint of who you are and what you are here to do and create and experience in this world. It is how you access the abundance that is your birthright. It's how you create heaven on earth. It's how you find all of the things that you desire to experience: love, joy, peace, connection, like all of these things are our birthright, but we have to return home and reclaim our true soul-level identities before we can ever truly access that, before we can ever create any change on this planet. So that's the first thing I want you to know is that we are not creating a new identity. We are simply returning home to ourselves, which is what we are meant to do. You were born in perfection, you have a blueprint, you have creator source energy that is already within you. And when you return to yourself, that's how you tap into your limitless potential. Upgrading, creating, reinventing, or the alter egos, those are quick fixes, but those are not going to be the thing that brings you the fill fulfillment. It's not going to be the thing that helps you break free from the matrix. You are recreating something or trying to create something new from a wounded self. And when you are creating out of wounding, it is not authentic to who you are. It is trying to basically put a band-aid on something that needs stitches. Or if you think about yourself as like a computer program, because we are a spiritual technology within ourselves, right? And if you think about yourself that way, if you have all these viruses running within you of fear and shame and guilt and all of these matrix programs that tell you who you need to be, and you're trying to create something new, you're still creating from that place. You're still creating from I need to be XYZ. I need to create or act this way in the world, or I just don't want to feel fear anymore. So I need to make a lot of money. I don't want to feel this way anymore. So I need to find someone to love me. Like when we create from that place, it's not authentic and it can't hold. So this is where I see either A, it doesn't really work, it doesn't stick, or two, it's like you're able to get quick wins, but it's not a lasting change. And I'm gonna give you a personal example about this. When I was 32, I realized that I was living a life that wasn't meant for me. And I didn't really understand, understand at the time even what that meant. I just knew like there's something more for me. Like I know this is not the life I came to experience. I don't know what it is I came to experience, but I know this isn't it. And life was good. There was nothing wrong with my life. I had a great job, I made good money, um, I had friends and family and all of these things. Like life looked good, but it didn't feel fulfilling. I was tired and burnt out. Um, I wasn't experiencing all the things I wanted to. I wanted to make more money, I wanted to find love. Like there were all these different things. And I just remember thinking, like, I'm getting up and going to work every day. And then I'm trying to like keep up with daily life of errands and like, you know, keeping up with your house and grocery shopping and all of these things. And I'm trying to then still be social and all these, like I just felt like Groundhog's Day. And so at 32, I hit the reset button on my life. I walked away from everything. I was living in New Hampshire at the time, and I got rid of everything I owned. I quit my job and I packed up all the clothes that I had into like a duffel bag on the roof of my SUV, and I packed up my dog and I drove across the country and I was like, okay, I have this blank canvas to recreate my life. And I did it from that point of like, I'm going to recreate my life. I'm going to reinvent myself. And so I got to Los Angeles and I immediately started to try to like be who I thought I needed to be in order to experience what I wanted to experience, which was like, I wanted to have a lot of money. That was a big one for me. I wanted to um create success. I wanted to find love. I wanted to have fun, passion, all of these things, right? So I get to LA and I start to recreate my life and I'm recreating from these wounds and I build a life that looks good. I got into PR, um, I was making more money than I had ever made. I was living in LA, which was my dream location. I had a lot of friends, I had family, I had social life. Like I had all of these things, but like outside looking in, you'd be like, that's a great life. But I was still living the exact same life, just slightly upgraded. And again, five years later, I found myself totally unfulfilled, back to feeling burnt out, doing a job I didn't want to do, a job I didn't feel called for, having to do it a way I didn't want to do it. Um, I found myself just feeling like, wow, I'm in the exact same position I was at 32, just slightly upgraded. But I'm still here. I still know there's more. I'm still living this like groundhogs day version of my life. If I get up and I go to work Monday through Friday, and then I try to have fun and do all the things on the weekends, and then it just this never-ending cycle. And I was like, that cannot possibly be what my soul came here to do. So this is really important because I had to restart my life twice and rebuild like from the ground up both times, because the first time I tried to create from wounding versus figuring out who I truly was. And I didn't realize it at the time. I was doing a lot of deep diving. I was on a deep spiritual journey. Um, I had been on the healing journey for a really long time. Like I was really trying to find who I was and heal and explore. But everything that I was doing or seeing was just systems. So, for example, I started to get really involved with the spiritual community because I had been on a very deep spiritual path for a while. But I started to see it was like carbon copies everywhere. Like everybody had the same aesthetic. Everybody was speaking the same way and just like regurgitating information with very little embodiment or integration. Um, I would go into the personal development space, and it was the same thing. Like everybody was pumping out the exact same information for this same common goal, which was just to deliver something that is wanted out of wounding, right? Um, and so all of these things were what I was taking on and exploring as I was trying to recreate myself. I never did the work to go within and find out who I would be without the matrix identity. If I was not running survival programming, who would I actually be? So now I'm gonna give you the steps that I would take. And it's a five-part blueprint process that you can follow and implement today. And this is a piece of my bigger process, which I call identity reclamation, but this is a piece that you can take and start implementing right now to start reclaiming who you truly are on a soul level. So the first thing that you want to do is you wanna get clear on the why behind what you actually want. So if I were to think about this when I was at 32, one of the things I wanted was money. So we're gonna use that as an example because that is actually one of the most common things that clients come to me with. So when you feel like you want to experience more money, you wanna look at the why behind that, right? This is gonna tell us where the unconscious wounds are, which is the next step. So you have this money desire. You want to make more money, you want to start your own business, you want to have freedom. Um, money brings more time, money brings more experiences, money brings safety and security, it brings stability. These are all the whys, right? And once you know what the whys are, you can start to trace this back to the unconscious wounds. The unconscious wounds are the absolute element to dissolve the matrix identity. So again, we can't just reprogram. If you have old viral software running in here and we just put new software in, it doesn't override the viruses. They're just now running like in tandem with each other and they're both going to be limited, right? So we want to clear the viral programming, which is the unconscious wounds. And the unconscious wounds are a layer deeper than the subconscious. So if you've tried subconscious reprogramming, if you've tried a lot of different techniques out there and they haven't worked, it's because there's unconscious wounds that need to be dissolved first before you can install any new programming or change your beliefs or change your thoughts or really make any change at all. So let's look at money as that example, right? So the why behind it safety, security, stability, freedom. Where do we not have that within ourselves, right? And this is where we can start to trace it back to some of the unconscious wounds. So, okay, we feel like we can't make more money because um we don't have the education or we don't have the experience or what we have to offer isn't good enough. Um, we feel like we need more safety because childhood felt really unsafe. What made childhood feel unsafe? And so we start to trace this back to the unconscious wounds. Those are the things that need to be looked at. Once you have awareness of the unconscious wounds, they can start to dissolve. And I know a lot of you will have done some of this work already. I had done a lot of this work too, but I hadn't approached it this way. Like I had done a lot of that inner child healing journey, yet I still had never reclaimed my actual identity. And this is where things shift a little bit. So you've got the money desire. We know the why behind it. We're tracing this back to one of the unconscious wounds. I want to use for the unconscious wound example, I want to use shame because that is actually one of the biggest blocks to abundance, and it's the biggest block to the matrix identity. So some of the uh core wounds that keep the matrix identity in place, fear, scarcity, survival, shame, um, grief, resentment, anger, like these deep unconscious wounds that we are holding, this allows the matrix identity to stay trapped. This is what makes it very hard for your soul level identity to come on board, to come online. So we need to start with that. So I want to talk about shame because it so closely relates to money so often, right? So um shame is that there is inherently something wrong with who we are. And how does this apply to money? So I will talk about it for my own personal example. Shame kept me doing the things that the Matrix was telling me to do. It kept me going to my corporate job that I didn't like. It kept me from stepping into my spiritual gifts. It stopped me from sharing my story, my voice, my messages with the world. It stopped me from um being who I truly was. It made me feel like there was something inherently wrong with me or parts of my past that were not okay. These are all the unconscious wounds that were having me behave the way I was behaving of trying to fit in and continuing to go to that corporate job, trying to um dress the way other people dressed or behaved the way other people behaved who were successful, who had the success that I wanted, um, who had the level of money or income that I wanted, who are having whatever life experience I was wanting, right? So these are the things that told me something is wrong with me, and I need to be more of that in order to have the money that I desire. And shame is a huge one. So that's why we're gonna use this as an example. So we've picked the wound of shame because it's underneath almost every block, especially money. And the first thing I want you to do is write down all the times you've experienced shame. Write them all down. Naming them and exploring them alone does half the work, and it starts to dissolve the energy. Like if when I look at this in the quantum field, it starts to dissolve the energy and the cords and the strings that are attaching you to these experiences. And that's the first step. Once you get all of that out, and that might take you a few minutes, I want you to write down like everything you feel shame about, everything someone has shamed you for. You can also think about it this way: like, what are the things I wouldn't want anyone to know about me? What am I afraid the world would find out about me? What am I afraid my boss would find out? What am I afraid my clients would find out? Like, whatever that is, these are all the parts of you that you are carrying shame about. These parts of you are A, who you are on some level, and then B, things that you did out of your trauma imprint. They're not who you are on that level, right? So there's parts of you that you feel shame about because somebody told you it wasn't okay to be who you are, the matrix, right? Society, family, whoever. Then there's things that you did where you're holding shame on them, but like that was a trauma loop that you were in. And it doesn't mean we don't take accountability or responsibility for who we are or what we've done, but it means what we forgive ourselves and we let that go. So again, we're gonna look at this, we're gonna write it all down, we're gonna name it, we're going to explore it, we're going to understand why did I act in that way, right? I recently did a video on social media where I talked about all the things that I used to hold shame for, but then turned into my superpowers. And so I talked about how I used to sleep around a lot. Like I used to sleep with any guy who gave me any breadcrumb of attention. That was something that I felt a lot of shame about. Like, oh my God, what if people found out about that? Like, I'm I'm not that person now. What if they found out about that? Who cares? That was a trauma loop. I was doing that because I was desperate for love and desperate for connection and I wanted to feel chosen and desired, and it was all my daddy issues acting out in real time and all of these different things. And I would hold so much shame over that. And that stopped me from being who I was in so many ways, or for feeling like I could be worthy enough of expressing my ideas and my thoughts in the world. It stopped me in like every way possible. When I alchemized that, and we all have the power to be an alchemist and the Matrix, that's like one of the things the Matrix does not want you to know, is that everybody has the power to alchemize. And I allowed myself to just understand like that's a trauma loop that was taking place. That's um decisions that I made out of these wounds, and I started to allow that to be okay. Then there were things that were done for to me that I held shame about. When I started to dissolve that work and allow that to be an experience I had, but not who I was and not something that I had to hide. And I started to reclaim these parts of myself, shame lost its power over me. And I had a ton of people DM me on that video being like, that's the thing I've always wished I could do is just come right out and say all of these things about myself. And I can't do it because I'm so afraid of what people will think. That right there is going to anchor in your matrix identity and not allow you to even discover who you truly are. This is why shame is so often the root cause of abundance, because our soul-level identity carries abundance as a birthright. But if you cannot be who you are and you can't even allow yourself to explore and share who you might be to the world, because of what you're afraid will be perceived about you, or how people will respond, or because you've been shamed for it in the past, that's a huge block to becoming who you are and getting the money that is your birthright. There's an unlimited amount of money available to us. And yet it is our own shame, fear, wounding, matrix programming that is going to keep it from us. And this is why it's so important that we reclaim our identities. Okay, so we have named the wound, we understand the why, um, or we understand the, we understood, we named the desire, we understand the why of the desire we want of more money. We understand that the feelings that we want to have are coming from a wound of shame. And now we can understand how shame has started to shape our identity. So that's the next step. Go through and write, okay, these are all the times I've experienced shame, whether it was my own action or done to me. Now I'm gonna dive in and look at how have I acted or not acted out of trying to avoid shame or as a result of shame. So think about this from the perspective of like, what are all the things I wanted to try and I didn't try because I was afraid of what people would think? What are all the times I've wanted to say something and I didn't? What about all the times that I held back doing something or didn't do something at all because I was so afraid that I would be shamed or humiliated or mocked or judged or whatever it is, right? These are all parts of the shame wound. So you want to understand how it has begun to shape who you are through your behaviors, your decisions, your actions, your personality. All of this is molded off of these wounds. Then what you want to do is look at if shame was not present, how would I have lived my life differently? We understand how it stopped you. If shame had never been present and you didn't have to worry about experiencing shame, what would you have done differently in your life up until this point? So I want you to write all that down. Then I want you to write down if I were not afraid of shame right now, if I were not afraid of being different or disliked, what right now in this moment would change? Would you speak your truth? Would you post the content? Would you um go take the singing lessons that you've been thinking about? Will you, would you um, you know, dress a totally different way? Would you pick a totally different career? Like, how would you behave differently if shame did not exist, if you were not afraid of being different or disliked? And then how can you start to take your power back from that shame? That's the next step. So when we start to reclaim these parts of ourselves where shame is no longer holding the power over us, we can start to say, like, okay, in this example, um my soul level blueprint knows that I'm here to share my spiritual gifts with the world. I know that I'm here to share my story and my knowledge and my wisdom. These are all the times that I've experienced shame. These are all the ways shame has prevented me from moving forward. These are all the ways that shame is stopping me from right now, right now being who I want to be and doing the thing I want to do. And if shame wasn't present, this is how I would behave and I would act, right? And then I would start to think about like, okay, well, where do I feel like in my life, whether it be from family or society or work or whatever, I can't be or say what I want to. And this is where we start to reclaim the soul level identity. Excuse me. So you see, we're not, we're not creating, we're not like projecting something that we think we need to be of like, I need to dress this way, I need to do that. We are figuring out what is holding us back from being who we truly are based on these wounds, these programs, and like the perceptions of other people. So shame's that unconscious wound, right? I've just given you five steps to start to neutralize whatever unconscious wound came up for you. If you do not know what your unconscious wounds are, I would recommend starting with fear, shame, betrayal, guilt, abandonment is a good one. Those are usually the ones that are underneath like so much of well, definitely abundance, but also just you being able to become who you truly are and express it with the world, right? So now we have the awareness of a soul-level identity. We understand the desire, we understand the why. We've uncovered an unconscious program, and you probably have multiple, right? If you want to experience more money, you probably have multiple. So that's why I'm giving you a few that you could start working on. And now what we want to do is shift our day-to-day. So this is where I recommend that you under um that you name your matrix identity. So I want you to start to separate it from who you truly are. So just create whatever name you want to for the matrix identity. Your soul does not operate from fear, shame, or betrayal. Your ego does, the mind. And that is what the matrix wants to control. So this is where we have to start to take our power back. So, what I want you to do, after you've done those five steps where you're starting to alchemize the unconscious wounding under the desire of the thing that you want to experience as the true soul self that you are, to truly start to reclaim this identity, we need to shift your day-to-day behavior. So the first thing I want you to do is just observe for the next week where are you in the matrix identity, right? And it's gonna be really important for you to name that matrix identity and be like, oh, you know, that's so and so showing up, right? So you might go to work and you haven't you're at a meeting and you have an idea that you want to communicate, but you don't say it because maybe it's not a good idea a good enough idea. Maybe you're not sure how they're gonna react, you're not sure how they're gonna respond, or maybe they never listen. To you or whatever, the soul doesn't stop, the soul still shares the idea because the soul is not ruled by the perceptions outside of itself, the matrix identity is. So right now, I just want you to observe that. Where do I feel like I want to set a boundary and I don't? Where do I feel like I maybe have something really cool to say and I just want to share it with the world, but I can't post the content? Where, like, where are you not doing the thing that you want to do? Where is there some type of filter coming up? Like, oh, I want to say this thing, but I better make sure I say it this way so they understand. Or I'm just not going to share the idea at all, or maybe I'll whisper it to my coworker later. Like, start to see where you are not taking action or you're not doing the thing you want to do or saying the thing you want to say out of fear of some type of response. When you do that, you are starting to observe where the matrix identity is in play. That's really important. Awareness does so much of this work for you. The next step is to actually start making changes. So I want you to pick one area out of all that you've observed in the last week. And this is the one area that we're going to work on. Because when I work with clients, one of the things that we do is we create a safe path back to their true identity and then visibility. Um, because I help people overcome the fear of being seen. The fear of being seen is really the fear of being yourself. So identity and visibility intertwine perfectly together. But as we return back to ourselves, we will also feel safe to share ourselves with the world. So I want you to just pick one thing that you observed this week. Maybe you're gonna speak your idea in the next meeting. Maybe you're gonna set the boundary. Maybe you are going to um post content, whatever it is. I just want you to pick one area where you're going to choose to move forward as your soul self, who is not operating from fear or wounding or shame or scarcity. This can look like the next time you're in a meeting, you offer the idea. This can look like planning how you're gonna set the boundary and then setting the boundary. This can look like um picking up your phone and recording without the intent to post, just picking it up every day for 15 minutes and recording yourself talking to the phone, especially if you want to get visible or you want to share your message with the world and starting to shift into someone who behaves differently than the matrix identity. And as you do this, you are allowing your soul to come back online because your soul is already there. We don't have to necessarily go in this deep dive discovery process. We have to shed the things that are keeping you stuck. And when you do that, the soul starts to come online. So we start to take these really small actions, recording every day for 15 minutes and not posting, setting that one boundary and really thinking through like how you're going to do that and maybe practicing the conversation that you're gonna have. Maybe it's speaking up in that meeting, maybe it's um deciding to take the singing lessons, whatever it is. This is how we let the soul come online. So it's not as an overwhelming process as it may seem. Your job is to shed the matrix identity so the soul can come online. It will naturally come back online as you shed the old stuff, the old programming that keeps you stuck. That is the most important part. And that's why we can't create, right? We have to kind of stay tapped into this allowing the soul to come forward. So I want you to just pick one area where you're gonna start to implement changes and you decide what feels safe to you because what feels safe to you will feel safe, um, will not feel safe to someone else. So one person might be able to pick up this phone and record content today. One person might for a whole month record for 15 minutes and not post. Everyone's at a different part of the journey, and you have to figure out what feels safe while allowing yourself to move forward and not staying stuck because forward movement, action is the most important part of this process. You can have all of the understanding and all of the awareness, but not take action and nothing in your life will change. Action is the most important piece. And the other part with action is that when you are taking action and you are moving forward, even if you don't know where you're going, you don't know if this is the right way, you don't know if you're on the right path, whatever, if you are moving forward, there is space for divine intervention, for God's source spirit, for your guides to come in and help you and guide you and move you and assist you in this process. When you stay stuck and you're not taking action, you are blocking all divine intervention. It is very hard for the divine to do anything when you're not moving forward. So the most important part to this is that as you have this awareness, you start to take actions. It doesn't have to be the big leap, it just has to be smaller steps. As you do this, you're going to dissolve the identity that has been holding you back your entire life. You start to collect new experiences. So you might have a story that says every time I speak up or every time I set a boundary, there's negative consequences. Well, we start to speak up and we start to collect these new experiences where there are no negative consequences. And the more I speak my truth, the safer I am. The more I share myself with the world, the safer I am. And so you want to detach from the outcome when you're doing this, right? Like if you go to work and you want to share your idea in the meeting, and then they don't use that idea and you take that as proof of like, oh, I shouldn't have done that. That's the ego and the matrix identity trying to stay in place. So in that moment, you want to say, My only job is to share. My only job is to shift and keep taking action and keep making changes so that I can allow the soul to come online. Because if every time I allow my soul to speak and somebody else's perception stops me, that is allowing the matrix identity to come back online. And that is what we are trying to shed. Your soul level identity, you are born in perfect divinity and you just need to become who you truly are. And your job is to shed what isn't you. So that is your blueprint process that you can start to implement this week, right? So you're going to be clear on something that you want to change or experience, right? Like the more money example. You get clear on the why, you understand the unconscious wound, you do the five prompts I gave you to start to alchemize your unconscious wound, right? And then the next thing you're going to do is observe for a week and understand the difference between your matrix identity, which you have named, as well as your true soul level identity. And then that final step is to start taking small steps and actions and incorporating different behaviors so that you can shed the matrix identity. And as you do that, your soul identity will come online. Your soul blueprint will be activated. And when that happens, that is your birthright to abundance, your birthright to peace, joy, love, harmony. That is how you are in this world and not of this world. It is truly how you break free from the matrix. So this is a very small step of my overall identity reclamation process. What I channeled in was a 13-step process that truly brings you back home to yourself and activates the soul blueprint and then teaches you how to also express that into the world. This is a small piece of that process that you could implement today. And I promise you, if you stop, start doing this and are truly taking action, you will see miraculous changes a lot quicker than you think it is. And if you're ready to truly reclaim your identity, you're truly ready to break free from all the stuff that has held you back, these repeating healing loops, the manifestation loops, staying stuck in a life that feels too small. If you feel like I did at 32 and then again at 37, of just like there is something more here, you can join the Ascension Lab. That is my coaching and community membership where you can come in, you get access to all of my courses, the entire identity reclamation process, the entire process of learning how to be yourself and express yourself into the world. I do live coaching there every week. It is a beautiful community of like-minded souls who are all breaking free from the matrix. So if that aligns with you, you can join the Ascension Lab. That'll be down in the description box below. I also have a number of workshops coming up. Some of them are on identity, some are helping you tap into your spiritual gifts. There's lots of fun things coming up. And if you're ready to step forward in some way, there is something that will be there for you to start taking that action. But whatever you do today, I want you to declare God's source spirit. I am ready to return to my soul level identity. Show me the path, show me the way, follow the blueprint I gave you in this video. And I promise you, change is inevitable. And I'm sending you guys all so much love.
