Bad Critics
Chuck and Blake don’t simply disagree about which films are good. They disagree about what films are FOR. Chuck believes movies are a craft to be assessed — their quality is a function of intentionality, architecture, and whether they earn the emotional or intellectual response they're reaching for. Blake believes movies are an experience to be felt — their quality is a function of whether something real moved through him when the lights went down. Both positions are philosophically defensible. Neither host can fully respect the other’s framework without abandoning his own. That irreducible tension is every episode.
