Bad Critics
Chuck and Blake don’t simply disagree about which films are good. They disagree about what films are FOR. Chuck believes movies are a craft to be assessed — their quality is a function of intentionality, architecture, and whether they earn the emotional or intellectual response they're reaching for. Blake believes movies are an experience to be felt — their quality is a function of whether something real moved through him when the lights went down. Both positions are philosophically defensible. Neither host can fully respect the other’s framework without abandoning his own. That irreducible tension is every episode.

In this episode the guys talk MCU to DC and reveal their top 10 comic book movie rankings. Blake promotes Captain America slander and Chuck defends Batman & Robin while scrutinizing the under sexualization of female super heroes.
What's going on, guys, and welcome back to another episode of Bad Critics. I'm Blake. This is Chuck. And this episode we're talking about our coined phrase, cape shit. Capes and shit. Yeah, dude. Anything with capes. This is a uh this is a superhero comic book movie episode. We're gonna we're gonna do a star gap on um some an MCU movie. We're gonna we're gonna talk about, you know, we're gonna talk a lot about MCU. We're gonna rank our top comic book movies. We're going to have a defend it with Chuck. Chuck's gonna defend Batman and Robin. Let's we're gonna see how that goes. You wanna hop right into the into the star gap?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. So the star gap today is gonna be Captain America Civil War. I give it an eight.
SPEAKER_02I give it a six. Six. Not a huge gap. Yeah, it's not it's not huge.
SPEAKER_00It's a big episode today, though.
SPEAKER_02It's very big. Very big.
SPEAKER_00Is it okay for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to die? We rank every comic book movie. But uh, you know, I I here's the here's the secret to Civil War. It's not really a Captain America movie. It's an Avengers movie.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Right? That's what makes it so good. It's an important pivot in the whole saga of the Avengers, and it takes a whole bunch of characters that we've grown to love, and introduces several others. Bridges the Avengers Arc. This is also the movie where we are introduced to Tom Holland as Spider-Man as Spider-Man. We're introduced to Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther. Right?
SPEAKER_02Um This was before Black Panther?
SPEAKER_00This was the this was the introduction of Black Panther.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. Uh it's not quite a five. Right? Um I don't know if any MCU movie is a five for me. To be honest.
SPEAKER_02I've uh I may have one. I well, I may have some that are close, but not none that are like I don't think I'm gonna have to check my list when we get into the rankings.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Five, ten. I don't know if there's any tens in the T U. Um and and Civil War doesn't quite have it's still not quite up there with the rest of the Avengers movies. Yeah. Right? Doesn't quite have the emotional pull of of a Infinity War end game. Not at all. Right. Um but it but it is a solid eight to me.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's really hard because I I will die on the hill that any movie that has had Captain America as the forefront title or Thor is bad. And I don't say that about Captain America Civil War. Listen, I I don't think Captain America Civil War is bad. It's definitely the best out of that run, out of all six of those movies, and I'm I'm including Thor because I think they're bad. Captain America the First Avenger and Captain America Winter Soldier, right? Yep. I can respect Winter Soldier for some of the things that it does, but it's still fucking boring.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I don't have Winter Soldier or First Avenger as high as Civil War. Yeah. Civil War is the best Captain America movie.
SPEAKER_02And I still have it really low because yes, I think it's cool that they introduce Spider-Man. Spider-Man's obviously the biggest Marvel character. Um it's it's a cool movie. I just think it's boring. I think it's boring. I I put it at a three because of the things that I do like about it. If you're wanting to call it an Avengers movie, it's still a shitty Avengers movie. Age of Old Tron is.
SPEAKER_00Boring.
SPEAKER_02I don't I don't care what happens to Captain America. Okay. I dude, I remember when Avengers 1 came out and I was like, okay, Iron Man's cool. Hulk is cool. Why the fuck are these other people in this movie? I get it, they have to have an Avengers movie, but I wanted it to be like Spider-Man and Hulk. You know, basically what I think Secret Wars is gonna be.
SPEAKER_00So six. That's where you land.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, it's and I feel like that's high for me. I feel like that's high for me to be on Civil War. Wow. It's high for me to be on any movie that starts with Captain America as the title, dude. They're so boring.
SPEAKER_00And you don't see Civil War as an Avengers movie.
SPEAKER_02No, I could see why you're saying that. And you're probably right. It probably is more of an Avengers movie for sure than it is a Captain America movie. But I think it's still boring. Like when I watch it, I'm like, okay, I can buy into I like this more, but it's still boring. Like there's still things about it where I'm like Captain America. I don't like as a character. He's a goody two shoes, and that's it. And I think that to be a hero, sometimes you have to bend that, except for Superman. Superman doesn't have to do that. Except Superman.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, because we have one. You're like, and he's nowhere near as badass as Superman is. No, exactly. So that's my thing. Is like, okay, you you've got Super Sure.
SPEAKER_00He's the only one that's allowed to be the straight man.
SPEAKER_02Right. He's only the chosen one because people like him in the MCU. Like the whole the whole thing with him and Thor's hammer. Yeah, that's stupid as fuck.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Okay, I respect the take.
SPEAKER_02Like, honestly, I would have been even more excited. Like, if uh I mean, I know that they wouldn't have done it, but if Hulk picked it up and it was like a World War Hulk thing, or like Planet Hulk thing, that shit would have been badass. And again, I'm biased because Hulk's my favorite comic book character. Right. So, like that it's hard, but yeah, Captain America, Thor, all their movies are fucking boring.
SPEAKER_00Well, and then eventually Jane picks up Mjolnir, right? Jane? Yeah, in the fucking third Thor movie. Uh Thor Love and Thunder. I hated having to watch that dude.
SPEAKER_02She she wields Mjolnir. You know what my only part of that movie that I liked? Well, number one, there were two battle sequences in it. Yeah. Thor versus uh Gore. Oh, I just realized how horrible those names together are. Um though those were like starting off really cool, but the the only part that I really liked of that movie was when they're battling in the street the first time, and uh Gore like touches his that you know, the hammer that he made in Infinity War, and he goes, Yeah. Yeah, he's like, hey, don't touch my thing. That was funny.
SPEAKER_00There weren't it yeah, so uh yeah to end for the record. I did have him re-watch this. I was I was actually planning on defending Thor Love and Thunder. Turns out it's it's it's too fucking bad to defend. So is Ragnarok. So we we uh okay we'll we'll talk about Ragnarok, but Love and Thunder. Terrible movie.
SPEAKER_02But Ragnarok isn't isn't any better. It it is, it is, it's not okay. Hulk in a hot tub, Hulk crack. No, that's bullshit, dude.
SPEAKER_00Hulk's yeah, Hulk's um character in that movie, not great. Yeah, it's not good, not great.
SPEAKER_02Uh let's answer that first question. Is it okay for the MCU to end?
SPEAKER_00Absolutely, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think it's time. Um it is time. I think after Doomsday, which I I'm excited to see Doomsday and see what they do, but if they bring everything back and it's just like a greatest hits thing again, which is basically what endgame is, and well, and so is Infinity War. Like, I love Infinity War. Infinity War is high on my list, but if they just do the same thing for Doomsday, it's like whatever. Secret Wars, I'm even more excited for. I don't know anything about it, but I hope that they do the Avengers I'm telling you about, where it's like you bring me back how Hulk is supposed to be, you know. Uh, you have Spider-Man leading it, and you have Spider-Man, Hulk, Fantastic Four can be in there, that'd be cool. Um if if they want to make Doctor Doom the the Thanos, then that's still cool if they want to put those movies together. Um, there's a couple characters that I'd be down to see. Like, I'm cool with them bringing Thor back. He, I mean, my biggest take with Thor is that he's a fucking badass in every movie that doesn't have his fucking name on it. He's a badass in Avengers, he's a badass in Finity War. Yeah, he's I mean, he's kind of a badass in in game for most of that movie. He's not, but no.
SPEAKER_00Well, there's the whole Mjolner thing, right?
SPEAKER_02Is the Infinity Saga the best comic book movie run of all time?
SPEAKER_00That's what I was about to say. Quite literally, the next line that I was gonna say before you interrupting me was the Infinity Saga. No, this is this is crazy. The Infinity Saga is without question the best comic book run ever made.
SPEAKER_02I think so too. I mean, yeah, we're gonna sit here and talk a lot of shit about it, but it's it's it is what it is for a reason.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's huge too. Yeah. In Infinity Saga, I I think they say it's actually like 23 movies.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Are the Infinity Saga, right? What do you need out of there? What do I need out of the Infinity Saga? Like the way that they end it?
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, no. Like what do you what what movies do you have to actually watch? Because like m my opinion is like Iron Man. Oh, out of the entire thing out of the entire thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because I don't even think Iron Man 1. Okay, fair, agreed. Is is is a definitely one of them. Um I think you have to we were talking about earlier, you have to watch all the Avengers movies. You have to watch Captain America Civil War. I I agree. Right? Um, there's there's some movies that I can you have to watch Guardians. Every Iron Man movie outside of Iron Man 1, drop it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, agreed. In phase one, are you talking about? Yeah, I I agree. In phase one, you can watch Iron Man 1 and you can watch Avengers 1, and you'll be solid. Um, I'm pretty low on Age of Ultron. There's a lot of cool stuff in there. Mainly my biggest problem with it is that uh Ultron himself, I don't like the guy who voiced him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Age of Ultron is a is a weak weak edition of the game.
SPEAKER_02But it gave us Wanda, so I'm into that.
SPEAKER_00WandaVision. Did you watch that?
SPEAKER_02I didn't, but I like Wanda in in the movie in uh Infinity War.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, a buddy who told me WandaVision was really good, but I haven't seen it. Community list now. Wanda vision?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, WandaVision. What to watch? Yeah, because that's the thing too. Like I don't mind you know visiting it even though it's old and then us reviewing it. You know, and and 20 so there's 23 movies in the Infinities.
SPEAKER_00How many? I wonder how many shows. Like, what TV shows do you add?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because they've got Agatha all along, they've got WandaVision. I think they got something with Vision coming out, yeah. Which I would love to watch that dude. And Vision's a badass.
SPEAKER_00Of course, Loki got his show.
SPEAKER_02I didn't watch that. I didn't either.
SPEAKER_00I haven't watched almost any of the shows.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, neither neither have I. And I think it's because not only they're not gonna put as much effort into it, I know a lot of people really liked the Loki show, and it comes up in Deadpool and Wolverine, which I'm a defender of. A lot of people talk shit about that movie, but I really liked it. I think it was good.
SPEAKER_00You thought it was good, too? I thought it was good. Okay, cool. But I I love Deadpool, and I love Wolverine. And Wolverine's sick too.
SPEAKER_02Logan is a great I haven't watched it all the way through yet.
SPEAKER_00You have not watched Loki.
SPEAKER_02I haven't watched it all the way through that through yet, and and and hear me out here because I do like the 2000s Fox X-Men run. Yeah, I do like it a lot.
SPEAKER_00That's a hot take.
SPEAKER_02You you don't like them? They're not up there for me. The the even the first one, just the first X-Men. Yeah, I mean they're they're all fine. I have fun with it. They're all fine. Yeah, like first class is better. None of them none of them reach my top 10 for sure. Yeah, but I like Wolverine as a character, and I think that Deadpool and Wolverine, and this is gonna be a hot take. I think Wolverine, Deadpool, and Wolverine is the best one. Like he's fucking awesome, and he looks great. No, Deadpool is especially Deadpool 1. Deadpool 1 is fucking amazing. The best of that. Yeah, it's one of the best comic book movies ever made. I have it really high.
SPEAKER_00Really? Yeah, dude. Maybe, you know, maybe it's underrated for me. Really? Maybe it's not on my top 10.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I think you should need to rewatch it. The first one, but Deadpool and Wolverine.
SPEAKER_00It is hilarious. I remember it being hilarious.
SPEAKER_02It is hilarious, and it's, dude, it's so good. Like the action is perfect, the storyline is really clean. It's it's good, dude. It's tight. But yeah, Wolverine and Deadpool and Wolverine. I love the way he looks, dude. That's what I want out of these comic book movies.
SPEAKER_00Classic X-Men.
SPEAKER_02That's what I want, dude. Like straight out of the comics, yeah. And I know that sometimes they've tried to do that and it doesn't really work, you know, like it just kind of looks fucking weird. But he looks dope in that fucking movie, bro.
SPEAKER_00So that's why you're not really into Logan. Because he's he's not comic book Logan.
SPEAKER_02Right. Yeah. Yeah, it's like if his if his fucking claws aren't out, I'm not gonna be into it.
SPEAKER_00To take, I think you should watch Logan.
SPEAKER_02What are your favorite Marvel movies? Not excluding the excluding the uh oh no no no Marvel characters, excluding the MCU.
SPEAKER_00Favorite Marvel characters excluding the MCU.
SPEAKER_02Or not excluding the MCU, but just like you don't have to take that into account if there's somebody that's not in the MCU right now.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Um I mean I love Spider-Man. Fair. You know, and I know that's MCU, but it's also pre-MCU as well. Exactly. Right? I I like pre-MCU Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02Who's the best Spider-Man?
SPEAKER_00Toby.
SPEAKER_02Same. Yeah, Toby's elite. It's it's gonna be it. Sam Raimi Spider-Man, it changed comic book movies forever. It's the reason we're where we're at.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I mean, yeah. So Toby, Toby, Spider-Man, best Spider-Man. Tom Holland, though, not a bad Spider-Man at all. I think Tom Holland's a a good Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02You know what I really like, and we'll get into this a little bit more. Um, and I don't know if it's a hot take or not. I think Tom Holland in his Spider-Man run, uh, I I obviously like him in Infinity War, but I really like him in Homecoming.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Homecoming is the is the best out of his trilogy. So remind me, Homecoming is the one where it's where he's still in high school. It's the only one technically where he's still in high school.
SPEAKER_00No way home is when all the Spider-Man come.
SPEAKER_02Right, which I'm lower on that. It was cool, but it was contrived. It's cool, but you can tell that it's a money grab. You're like, oh, I paid to see this. To see all the Spider-Man in one in one scene. It takes you out of it, you know? It it does.
SPEAKER_00It look and there, and there was no way there was no, I'm I it's not that they did it badly. There was no good way to do it.
SPEAKER_02There's no point to it. Yeah, they could have gotten they they could have done a different story, especially because I dude, I like Doctor Strange as a character, I just don't like his movies. Yeah, I think again, I think Infinity War is he's a supporting character, yeah. And okay, let's be honest. The best MCU movie is Infinity War. Yeah, it's fantastic. Infinity War has so many good highs. There's only I have one problem with it. One singular problem with Infinity War. Okay. Is they fuck my favorite character out of being my favorite character is the Hulk. So they have this, yeah, dude. Yeah, I've got to. They he's got a really good battle with Thanos in the beginning. I do not care that he lost, but my Hulk, the Hulk that I would want, would continue to try and beat Thanos ass. I get that. And they make him that he just doesn't come out. Yeah, nah, dude, that's not cool. Like, yeah, it made for like a funny moment, but like it should have had that moment and then get out of it. I did not want to see him in the whole movie, yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's neutered the entire movie, exactly.
SPEAKER_02And then I didn't want to see him in that big Iron Man suit. I don't give a fuck about that. I want to see the Hulk. Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah, I don't like that, but overall still I think that it's it's the best. Um, under that, besides like the first Iron Man, dude. I really like Guardians of the Galaxy. I like Guardians of the Galaxy.
SPEAKER_00I think Guardians of the Galaxy is is underrated. Really? Underrated. I okay, cool. Yeah, I agree. I mean, you know, James Gunn had the whole thing at the time canceling whatever happened with him. I'm not super familiar with it, but I think that definitely takes away from it. I think a lot of people actually bought into the whole canceling thing. Um, I also think Guardians Galaxy to it was it was such a fun way to take us into a different era of definitely.
SPEAKER_02Well, and it's also bringing back like uh the MCU, like if we think about it as in in the terms of the Infinity saga, everything's basically a fucking sequel to Iron Man.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, like that's who so many of them are the same movie, right?
SPEAKER_02We're we're following Tony throughout this whole thing, and Guardians is the first time where I felt like they gave us somebody new to follow, and it's another batch of characters that nobody fucking gave a fuck about until that movie, and they're they're freaking sweet, dude. They're Star Lord's awesome. They're all great, and I would say right now, like even Tom Holland's Spider-Man is really good. I'm I'm looking forward to brand new day. Um, the Hulk, uh, you know, I always like the Hulk, but I think my favorite character in the MCU dude is Drax.
SPEAKER_00Drax.
SPEAKER_02Drax is fucking hilarious.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And he's also he's a badass, bro. Drax is a badass.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Dave Batista's as Drax is quite the quite the character. I don't know about Top, number one, but I really like him.
SPEAKER_02I want to see, I want to see him in more like they use him correctly, like they don't use him too much. I want to see him like fight more. Like he fought, I think he fought a lot in the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
SPEAKER_00That's my thing, right? Is like his super what is his superpower, even?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. He's more like Yeah, he's like I think he's more like a warrior than than anything. Um, but I think that's okay because he's like really fucking strong and and fights, but it's also like he's very and he's resilient to damage somehow. Something like that, yeah. But but I like him.
SPEAKER_00I think and it's also because that's quite that's part of the beauty of guardians, actually. Like what are their superpowers?
SPEAKER_02They're misfits, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't think Star Lord doesn't have any fucking superpowers. No, they're not they're not superheroes, yeah, yeah, exactly. In the way that the Avengers are superheroes, right?
SPEAKER_02They're they use weapons, yeah, you know, and yeah, I think that that's cool. They're the uh they're the underdogs, you know. They're they're they're misfits, and I think that that's really cool. I think that they're trying to do the same thing with like Thunderbolts right now, and I just don't care.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, no. And we're actually already just about there. Uh top ten. Yeah. Comic book movies. Yeah, let's do top two we kind of already started uh as we as we were talking through this because my number 10 is endgame.
SPEAKER_02Real quick, before we even get into that, we're doing comic book movies, not MCU movies, because I don't want to leave my favorite comic book movies on the table.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, every comic book movie ever, not just Marvel, top ten. All right. There's gonna be there's gonna be a few that are are Marvel and MCU, including this one that I'm starting with, which is number 10. It's in-game. It squeaks into the top 10. I'm not gonna say it's the the best Avengers movie, as we'll see, because the other Avengers movies are on the list here above it. Um but it but it closes out the the saga in a way that I I thought was was good. It was good.
SPEAKER_02My number 10 is Guardians of the Galaxy. I like I said, you know, I really like Drax, I like the comedy. Um, you make me care about characters that I otherwise wouldn't care about. I I really like it. It's it's creeped up on my list. It was in between that or Homecoming, which Homecoming I really like.
SPEAKER_00And that's uh segues into my nine really nicely because my nine is Guardians.
SPEAKER_02Okay, perfect. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00And it's and it's actually the same story. You know, when when I first started thinking about comic book movies, Guardians was not on my radar for the top 10. And the more I thought about it, the more I was like, you know, that's that's a top 10 movie.
SPEAKER_02It is, dude. It's so good. And when you revisit it, you have so much fun.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a great watch, it's such an enjoyable watch. It it's nice because it was a new era, it was a totally different, you know, whole new cast of characters, and and he did a great job with it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, my number nine is Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, okay. It's been a while since I've seen that one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, listen, I think that there's a lot of wrong ways to do that. And uh at the time that they did it, I think they did a really good job. I still think Ghost Rider is badass. I think that Nicolas Cage did awesome as Ghost Rider. Like, I just don't I don't know another actor. And I've told you, like, you know, I'm not a fan of anybody's fan cast for anyway. It's like, okay, yeah, let's have Willem Dafoe be the Joker. Not that I don't think that he would do a good job, but like, give me somebody that I wouldn't expect. And Nick Cage is that for Ghost Rider. You wouldn't expect him to do it, and he just plays it perfectly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Looking back on Ghost Rider, that does feel like the the perfect casting.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00Uh might be worth a rewatch for me. Uh this one I know is not going to be in your top ten. We just talked about it. Okay. Number eight, Logan.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But it's fair.
SPEAKER_00It's a real story.
SPEAKER_02I've heard that it's on a lot of that's on a lot of people's nose.
SPEAKER_00No, there's a there's it's different from your average superhero movie. So it makes the top ten.
SPEAKER_02Cool. Uh my eight is the Avengers, number one. Okay. I uh I really think that they did the Hulk justice in there. Everybody gets every single character gets an introduction that is good. Um, I watched Avengers before I watched any of the Thor movies. So I got the introduction to Thor in Avengers is better than the movies that came before it. Like everybody gets a good introduction.
SPEAKER_00Like the Hulk 2008, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, exactly. Yeah, even the Hulk, yeah. The Hulk gets a good introduction in in Avengers just fine. Like you didn't need again, go from Iron Man straight to Avengers.
SPEAKER_00Speaking of Iron Man, that's my seven. It's the first Iron Man, first Iron Man, 2008.
SPEAKER_02I look, I re-watched it recently.
SPEAKER_00Fucking awesome. Didn't make top ten for you? Didn't make top ten for me, no. Wow.
SPEAKER_02I had to make room for this other stuff.
SPEAKER_00That's fair.
SPEAKER_02Comic book movies.
SPEAKER_00There's gonna be a little more range on Blake's list here.
SPEAKER_02Number seven is for me is Infinity War.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02And I dude, I keep wanting it. I would keep wanting to put it higher. Honestly. I keep wanting to put it higher.
SPEAKER_00It is higher than seven.
SPEAKER_02I think so too. I think I might trade my seven and my six.
SPEAKER_00And my six is Captain America Civil War. We just talked about it. I think it's right up there with the rest of the Avengers movies. I don't think it should be a fucking top ten, dude. It's it's pretty good, man.
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised. I mean, it's like again, you know, when you're talking about MCU, like the MCU feels so superhero. It feels so comic book. So, like anything that's gonna be on your list, I'm not really gonna be upset about unless it's a fucking tour movie. My number six is The Batman. Ragnarok almost made the top ten list, by the way. Really?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, not it's like right there on the cusp.
unknownHorrible, bro.
SPEAKER_02That's fucking terrible. The fact that it's even that close kind of pisses me off. Uh, my number six is the Batman with Robert Patrick. 2022. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I thought it was great. I'm really excited to see what Matt Reeves does with the sequel. Yeah, I'm a little lower on that one. But I'm gonna trade it. So I'm gonna move the Batman to seven and Infinity War to six.
SPEAKER_00Going into five, like another one I know is not on your list. We just talked about this last week. If this is your first time chiming in, go back to the episode where we chatted about Dark Knight Rises. No, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Oh, dude. Yep. That's gonna change. It's gonna change because my number five is Deadpool, the first Deadpool.
SPEAKER_00You know, and it it is. I I I I kind of agree with you there. Yeah, dude. I'm probably gonna rewatch Deadpool and feel like it's a top 10 movie.
SPEAKER_02It is, it dude. I yeah, you have to re-watch Deadpool. So good.
SPEAKER_00What's your number four? Number four, we get to one that you just moved up. Infinity war.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah, I I definitely, yeah. I can't put Infinity War above Deadpool.
SPEAKER_00We'll see.
SPEAKER_02Because of the Hulk thing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Deadpool's a 10 out of 10.
SPEAKER_00Especially because you love Hulk.
SPEAKER_02Again, Deadpool, a character nobody gave a fuck about, dude. And it's one of the best comic book movies ever made. I I really can stand by that. You know, I remember being really out of X-Men. And then when I went to go see Deadpool, I was like, all right, whatever. And then I found out he was an it was technically an X-Men character. Like he's a part of the X-Men world. Right. And it made me like it 10 times more. I was like, fuck, dude, they made a comic accurate X-Men. A good X-Men. It looks fucking badass, dude. The only other they should bring back X-Men.
SPEAKER_00They should. They should do they should do X-Men right.
SPEAKER_02There, there's a couple, there's a couple comic book characters that they can do really right. X-Men is one of them if they do it comic book accurate, like the 90s show, like they have X-Men 97 out right now, or how they did in Deadpool and Wolverine. Like that's technically really high on my list. Like it's I think it's number 12. Wolverine looks great in that movie. He looks like a fucking comic book character. Bro, do them all like that. And I still buy into it.
SPEAKER_00I like that. So Deadpool do X-Men as a fucking comic book, X-Men.
SPEAKER_02Yes. It's dude, it would look amazing. Everybody would buy into it. They would love it. Deadpool was the first that I saw where I was like, Deadpool kind of put me back into comic book movies.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And you know who else looks really good? And we'll get to this later. Vision. Vision looks dope. Yeah. That's how you do a fucking character like that. Like Martian Manhunter. I know that's DC. Listen up, DC. Listen up, James Gunn. Make him use fucking Vision as a reference for fucking Martian Manhunter, and you will be fine. Dude, somebody make fucking spawn like that. Fucking incredible. Or Deadpool. Use Deadpool for Spawn and make it dark as fuck, dude. You've got a billion. DC would do well. Yeah, you got a crazy, crazy movie. So your number four was Infinity War?
SPEAKER_00Four was Infinity War.
SPEAKER_02Yep. You're gonna be mad at me for this one, but we'll we'll gloss over it. My number four is Hulk. Okay. 2003.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we uh we've talked this one through.
SPEAKER_02So you can be mad at me all you want. It's a good comic book movie.
SPEAKER_00We'll move on, guys. Uh three for me is gonna be The Avengers. The first one. The first one.
SPEAKER_02I'm not mad at that. Not mad at that at all. My number three is Batman 89.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Your f that's your favorite Batman. No.
SPEAKER_02It is it's my top Batman movie. It's not my top comic book movie.
SPEAKER_00Okay. But Dark Knight has not been mentioned yet. No. Okay. Interesting. Because uh as we'll see as we get into my top two. Number two is Batman Begins.
SPEAKER_02It is? Mm-hmm. Alright. Yep. I'm dude. I'm surprised that this thing that one of these isn't on your list, bro. Batman Begins isn't. I mean, I'm not mad at it. It's a great Batman movie. It's a great Batman movie. You know, I I tend, you know, what's funny is I tend to like more of the training, like with Roz Al Ghoul more than I actually like him as Batman in that movie.
SPEAKER_00I I agree. I think it's fucking fantastic. I mean, you you heard me just now at number five say Dark Knight rises.
SPEAKER_02I can't get mad at anything.
SPEAKER_00It's like You know I like begins more than rises.
SPEAKER_02So so do I. I like but but neither of them are on my list. All three of them, I mean all three of the Dark Knight trilogy have to be on Dark Kind of uh So ten um That was my two I'm trying to see where where this is um because Batman Begins isn't that far down from on my list, but But it didn't squeak into the top ten. No, my top my two is Spider-Man, Raimi's Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_00You know, you know what though? You're right. Yeah. Yeah, I can I I uh that can't not be in the top ten now that you mention it, so I'm gonna have to do a little shifting.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I I I can't believe you didn't think about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I've been watching that movie for forever. It's it's it's the best Spider-Man movie.
SPEAKER_00It is the best Spider-Man movie, and it definitely deserves a spot in the top 10.
SPEAKER_02So I'm gonna have to Do you do you believe the hype? Do you think that Brand New Day is gonna be the best Spider-Man movie ever made?
SPEAKER_00Or do you think that Spider-Man one is still gonna I don't I don't think anything I I don't know if they're capable of making a Spider-Man movie as good that tops yeah Spider-Man. Honestly. I I just really don't. Like, I mean we talked about this. Like Tom Holland is a great Spider-Man. I just don't think he can get there. Yeah, and I don't think that the powers that be that uh run the studios today could make a movie that good again.
SPEAKER_02Well, it is the Russo brothers, yeah. So I believe that's who did your favorite ones, Infinity War and Avengers.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02One, yeah. So it's a possibility. I mean they could do really well with it.
SPEAKER_00That's why so we're what here in a couple weeks. Yeah, yeah. If we got our tickets, uh we're gonna be watching that and we'll give you all a review at like nine o'clock in the morning. This is gonna this is gonna be a yeah, it is at nine o'clock. We're watching the early showing so we can get it in, guys. And then that later that day we'll be putting up an episode for you. It's gonna be a special episode. Yeah. We're a review off the cuff immediately coming out of this movie at 9 a.m. on a Saturday.
SPEAKER_02I'm really excited too because like we got hey, we got perfect seats.
SPEAKER_00We did. Like we're talking E17 and 18. If you're familiar with you know, movie theater seating, you know that you know that's elite, right?
SPEAKER_02So yeah, I'm really excited to see where it's gonna fall. Um, yeah, but it's hard with this, with this, with my number one, you know, uh Spider-Man should be the number one. It should be, but this movie is gonna for for for multiple reasons. I think we have the same number one, I'd assume. You want to just count it down? Yeah, that's good. Three, two, one. The Dark Knight. Yeah, okay. Obviously, we're not gonna spend too much time on it because I mean it's it's obvious that that's gonna be, you know, the best one. I mean, it's just it's just too good, dude. Yeah, it's just too good.
SPEAKER_00Nolan brings a certain something to comic book movies that's yeah, it's hard to find any other director that can do it that good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, we know why he did Batman. It makes perfect sense. Uh, I don't think I'd want him to do any more, truthfully.
SPEAKER_00Nolan to revisit Batman?
SPEAKER_02I mean, I think it'd be cool for him to revisit Batman. I just don't want him to do any other characters. Okay.
SPEAKER_00You know, like any other, like if Nolan were to make more comic book movies. No, he doesn't need to. Yeah, he doesn't. That's what I'm saying. He's already done it. The best it can be done.
SPEAKER_02You know what I do think though? Like Spawn. Like, I because I'm I'm a fan of Spawn, like the animated series was good. Um, and I just think his comic book covers look fucking awesome, dude. Like uh they look so cool. They look like Batman, but like 10 times more menacing. Yeah, a horror director needs to do that. Yeah, like a good but not like interesting. Not like a not like a horror director that needs to Astor, maybe. No, no, no, somebody that's got some fucking balls, dude. Somebody that's got some balls on them. Because I I see a lot of names.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but I don't think he's a eunuch. He might be.
SPEAKER_02His movies are estrogen filled to the max, bro. Okay, so this is a question that I had. How many in your top ten are MCU movies?
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, let's let's count those up. Let's see. It's quite a few, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02Don't don't count. Well, I am not gonna count Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_00It's seven, I think, right? Yeah, I have the end again. No. I miscounted five.
SPEAKER_02I have three.
SPEAKER_00Five MCU movies. Because we got Logan and and of course all of the Dark Knight trilogy. So yeah. Oh, so you have all three of them on there. Dude, yeah, Rises is five. Begins is two, and Dark Knight is one.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah, it's not bad.
SPEAKER_00You know, here's here's the thing. I mean, it I I I thought about this. And and now that we have talked about it more, this is like one of those things where you're like, if there were a movie that had to fall off, even though it's it is like the number five, you know, like I'd I'd be inclined to just drop rises off the top.
SPEAKER_02Wait, even even before uh in game?
SPEAKER_00No, no, you're right. Rises is better than endgame.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Rise is better than Endgame, for sure. Dude, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But there it's hard to say.
SPEAKER_00This is this goes back to the conversation about top 10 movie lists, though, right? Because like, you know what's a it it's it's it was hard for me to put on all of the Dark Knight trilogy in my top 10 list because that just feels really feels ridiculous.
SPEAKER_02It does. It feels ridiculous because you haven't re-watched Deadpool and Deadpool, you know what?
SPEAKER_00Spider-Man, so yeah, let's go down my list. Spider-Man's gonna end up on the top 10 list. Deadpool's gonna end up on the top 10 list. I wouldn't be surprised if I watched uh Galaxy 2 and found that it was also a top 10.
SPEAKER_02Galaxy 2, have you ever seen it?
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, of course.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so yeah, because Galaxy 2 and Galaxy 3, uh, they're good. They're not as good as the first one.
SPEAKER_00They're not the first well, the first one broke so much new ground.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Which was which is hard to beat.
SPEAKER_02But but the MCU movies, like if we're gonna take it there, uh well, no, we could still talk about comic book movies, but like as a whole, Infinity War Dude is really still up there. Like, I can't see a world where it's not gonna be in the top 10.
SPEAKER_00It has to be. There's also some stuff outside of the MCU that's kind of fun, right? Like, you think about like Watchmen.
SPEAKER_02I love Watchmen, but I also get kind of bored during it. Yeah, I think Zack Snyder, he's gotta he's okay. Zack Snyder does have an eye for superhero movies, and he likes like the dark and gritty ones. Watchmen is good for him. Zack Snyder could do spawn. Zack Snyder would be great for Spawn. Yeah, Zack Snyder could do spawn. He should not have done anything with the fucking Justice League, dude. Yeah, like well, the Justice League is cursed. Yeah. You know, nobody cares.
SPEAKER_00There's just something about the Justice League. It's it, I I I I've never seen a Justice League movie and thought to myself, I'm excited to watch that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, same. You know, it's it's hard to look at like, especially after um Superman returns with Brandon Routh. Did you ever say that?
SPEAKER_01I don't think I did.
SPEAKER_02So so Superman returns. Um, Brandon Routh plays Superman, and it is a Christopher Reeves like reboot. I didn't know that. I rewatched it recently, and it's got all the same music, and it's basically it's he's supposed to be the same Superman.
SPEAKER_00It it's interesting that Superman, the movie, Christopher Reeves, didn't make either of our top tens. It's I think I think most people probably put it.
SPEAKER_02It's pretty low on my list. Uh, as if I rewatched, I'd probably put it at number one, even over the dark night, but purely out of respect, because that's an amazing movie.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's amazing. But I also any when you talk about the cape shit genre, yeah, you have to have that in the conversation.
SPEAKER_02Is Superman again, it might not be top ten, it might it might be on my top ten if I rewatch it. Superman overall could be one of the best movies ever made.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Just as far as like uh how big of an impact it had. Yeah, it's great.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, nobody's gonna be culture impact perspective. Yeah, it has to be up there.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. The score is great, it's really big, the the story is perfect, like it's a great movie. And I would say that it should be higher, but with but with all the superhero movies that we have now, it's hard to revisit it, I would say. Like Superman's definitely had it. Like that I think that's what you're kind of saying about the DCU is Superman's kind of had his day. That's kind of my problem with Captain America, is like, oh dude, you're goody two shoes and this, that, and the other. But I think that the thing about Christopher Reeves, Superman is he has things that he goes through. Like you can see it that he goes through it. Um, I need to watch rewatch Man of Steel. I know that a lot of people are kind of either really high on it or really low on it. Low for me. You're low on it, yeah, low for me. I like the I like the angle that everybody's scared more than they're hopeful of Superman being there. I think that that's which is reasonable. Yeah, it's interesting. It's like, okay, this the whole idea is like this is an alien that can fucking kill us if it wants to. That I like. If that was in Superman 2025, I'd have Superman 2025 out of 10 out of 10. I think James Gunn did do a really good job with Superman 2025. Now, you have to have a suspension of disbelief, you have to put yourself into a mindset of this is made for audiences that are gonna want to watch Superman. It is made for a younger audience. CGI is not like impressive, you can tell that it's fake, but I think that that works and its benefit. It's a fucking super, it's a superhero movie. Yeah, you don't have it, doesn't have to look real. Yeah, you know, I think that's a big problem too. There's a lot of CGI moments in most of the movies that look really good, and people are like, oh, the CGI looked horrible. It's like, dude, it's fucking CGI.
SPEAKER_00You know what I think we've suffered from with the Superman thing is there there's also been a lot of versions of Superman, right? Like there hasn't been a lot of continuity to Superman as a character.
SPEAKER_02I would say that it's less than it's less than Batman.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, yeah. There has been a lot of there's been a lot of Batmans.
SPEAKER_02But there's none of the Batmans that are distinctly like just trash horrible.
SPEAKER_00But versus if you think about like the the folks that were besides George Clooney. We'll talk about George Clooney, don't worry. Um, but versus when you think about like some of the MCU stuff where you know these are these are long standing, you know, Captain America, a lot of continuity, Iron Man, a lot of I mean Tony Stark has been Tony Stark for 20 years, you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_02That's what made the Infinity saga so great and was the continuity. Yeah, exactly. Everything runs together, but I do think that still everything runs its course. And the problem though is do you have this fear I do that when they recast these characters that we're gonna be stuck with whoever's playing them for the next 20 years?
SPEAKER_00Who's gonna be playing them? So, like Oh, like in the next phase of Marvel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like if they if they just recast everything.
SPEAKER_00If they were to do Infinity Saga like part two, you know, like have a whole Infinity Saga.
SPEAKER_02Are they still gonna call it the Infinity Saga after Secret Wars? Oh, I think that they will. Yeah, surely. I think that it's technically still a part of it, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think that's part of the whole thing.
SPEAKER_02So Secret Wars caps it and ends it. I hope that that's the case. Yeah, take a couple years off from making these movies, recast and start with something fresh. But my fear is that they're gonna go, okay, we're gonna start from the beginning, and this is gonna be a whole new fucking saga. And and we're gonna be stuck with these characters and these actors like, you know, falling together, and everything's gotta be cohesive into this, like what you're saying, over 30 movies worth of a story for the next 20 years. It's just not something that I think that I think that they should take their W.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think it's it's gonna be capstone. Yeah, it's gotta be the capstone for it.
SPEAKER_02They they just take their W that they did one of the greatest things in movie history and then move on. And they just so happened to do it with comic book movies, which is fucking awesome.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so uh who this is a question for you. Who's the best looking superhero ever put on screen? Best look. Best look, like design? Best, you know, like who feels like the best best looking superhero?
SPEAKER_02Right now, I think that I'm I'm I'm at vision. Vision looks dude. Vision looks awesome. Like, I but I'm into that, you know, I'm into the cape and the otherworldly look, and I feel like vision's the first time that they got it right.
SPEAKER_00Interesting. Yeah, I see it. I see I see what you're saying.
SPEAKER_02And I I'm saying that as somebody that likes Hulk. I mean, my I think that Ang Lee's Hulk looks the best as far as the Hulk design. Um, the other ones I I don't like as much. I think Spider-Man always looks good, but Spider-Man always looks the same. That's why I kind of say vision. It does always look the same, yeah. I I would say Dra like if you see Drax, how he looks in the comics, they could have made him look more like that. They could have made vision look more like the comics. Like that's the thing, is all the comic book art for these characters, dude. All the all the comic book art for these characters is fucking brilliant.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm surprised you didn't say uh comic accurate Wolverine.
SPEAKER_02It's it's it's a close second. Close second, very close second because comic book accurate Wolverine and Deadpool and Wolverine is awesome, dude.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I go back to Reeves Superman.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he's up there. He would be he would be in the top 10 best looking for sure.
SPEAKER_00I I mean he just looks like he he just looks like fucking Superman.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. When I think of Superman, that's what they know.
SPEAKER_00Every Superman sense has has kind of had the Chris Reeves look, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I think that that was just the benchmark and it stayed the benchmark for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for sure. I think it has to. I mean, it's so iconic, like his suit was perfect. Yeah. I would say we're just talking about MCU, just all comic book movies. Um I think that Michael Keaton's Batman is up there. He looks really good.
SPEAKER_00Best looking Batman.
SPEAKER_02Definitely. Yep. Definitely the best looking Batman. I'm not, to be honest with you, bro, besides the first suit, like in Batman Begins in the beginning of the Dark Knight, I'm not a huge fan of Christian Bale's suit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I just think it makes him look kind of skinny, yeah, and puny.
SPEAKER_00Which is interesting because Christian Bale himself looked fucking phenomenal at the time. He looked dude, he looked big crazy that he went from machinist to that's crazy.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how he did that shit.
SPEAKER_00Uh steroids.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And and probably a little bit of trend.
SPEAKER_02Bro, definitely. But you know what's crazy is he just played another comic book character in a movie that you fucking made me watch when he played Gore in Love and Thunder. Dude, not even not even Christian Bale could make that. Character good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh man, that was that was such a bad just it was terrible, dude.
SPEAKER_02It was terrible.
SPEAKER_00Gore the godkiller.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was like okay, fight scene, gore scene, and I don't know where they were. They were at like Alcoholics Anonymous the entire time. Yeah. I I didn't get that shit. Yes, it was terrible. It was really bad.
SPEAKER_00And that sucks. Honestly, I unlike you who intentionally made me watch the shitty ass Twilight. Yeah. You know, I feel bad a little bit that I made you watch Love and Thunder because I thought it was gonna be better than it was.
SPEAKER_02I wasn't planning on saying it this way because it wasn't, but maybe the Twilight's my payback for Love and Thunder, dude.
SPEAKER_00Because Love and Thunder was like tragic. It was it was it was terrible. And the thing is Ragnarok was way better. I'm I'm surprised you don't think Ragnarok was significantly better. Better, not way better. Uh because I get it, because they're they're similar feels.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Right. They are um still bad. But you know who I did like in Ragnarok? Is the Witchy Lady, yeah, the sneaky, sexy villain.
SPEAKER_00The sneaky sexy, the sneaky, sexy villain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. She was hot. Was she? I think so. I think that that actress is also sneaky sexy because there's times Kate Blanchett. Oh, yeah, it is Kate Blanchett. There's times where I'm like, uh, I don't think she's that sexy. And then you see her some other times, and you're like, damn, girl, what you got going on?
SPEAKER_00I I'll be honest, I I never saw her and thought sexy, but you know, that's okay.
SPEAKER_02What do you want to see? Okay, because we we do have brand new day coming up, okay. What is there anything that like, are you remotely even thinking about it? Is it is it something that you are anticipating? And if it is, what are the things that you're like, I have to get this out of this to make me excited for Doomsday? Because right now I'm not excited for Doomsday.
SPEAKER_00No, me either. Me either. Um, brand new day, I mean, honestly, and and this is actually because we've we've talked about it. I don't think the current Spider-Man saga is a bad saga by any means. I actually think it's it's pretty good uh in the scheme of superhero movies, comic book movies. I didn't have any of them in my top ten. And with brand new day, I I I'd be shocked if it got there. You know, like you ask what do I need out of it? I don't really know that I have any any expectations whatsoever going into it, honestly. I'm trying to keep it there. You know, it whatever whatever they deliver to me, because I because it it feels like it could go any any kind of way. Whatever way they they end up bringing it. I'm interested to go into it with a with a clean slate. Yeah. And you know, when when we when we get to it, you know, riff off of it live right after and and see how my direct feelings are, because no expectations.
SPEAKER_02I wish that I can I wish that I could go into it like that. And I tried really hard to until I knew that Hulk was gonna be in it. And it looks like they're gonna bring Hulk back as the you know the they call it the savage Hulk. I just call it Hulk. That's the way that he's supposed to be in the movies. It looks like they're gonna do that, which I'm really excited about. I think that that would be great. Um, supposedly Gene Gray's gonna be in it, so we are getting, you know, some of the X-Men thrown into it, which you know is kind of giving us what we want. Um, I do think the suit, a lot of people are saying the suit looks really, really good. I think that there's parts that it looks good, it kind of looks a little baggy at some parts. Interesting. Um, but I'm not bothered by it. Like it I think it looks fine. Um there was uh the the villains. So so something that they did in in in the they already did it in the trailer. They're showing it in the trailer, is they remade like multiple comic book covers from The Amazing Spider-Man, like with fights with villains and him saving people, and they made it to where it's like the exact shot that was on the cover, dude. That shit really excites me because, like, even if you're not like a comic book fan and you just like comic book art and you like to look at those covers, that's gonna speak to you. Sure, and I'm all in for that. Like, I think that that's gonna look fucking awesome.
SPEAKER_00I'm interested to see.
SPEAKER_02I did, I think it's gonna I think it's gonna be good. I just I'm not I'm not excited for Doomsday. I they keep on saying that stuff leaked. I can't tell if it's AI, but they're bringing Captain America back and then Robert Downey Jr. is Doom. I like Doom as a villain. I don't think they should should have fucking cast Robert Downey Jr. as him.
SPEAKER_00Did they Robert Downey Jr. as Doom?
SPEAKER_02You haven't heard about this? No, dude. This is old news. You're fucking late. I'm I'm sure I am. Yeah, you're like I'm not the hip guy. You're late. As it were. Yeah. Yeah, they they cast Robert Downey Jr. as Doom.
SPEAKER_00How can you do that?
SPEAKER_02I dude, you're telling, you're telling me. Well, and I don't think that they've released a trailer on it yet. I could be wrong, but something also tells me, dude, like I think that they're being upfront about Brand New Day because it's coming out, right? It's coming out really soon, but there's still a lot of that movie that we don't know about. The Marvel over the years is like known for fucking lying about shit, like to keep things under lock and key. So that it might not be him, you know. That's something that I really think. Like sometimes I'm like, he's not fucking Doom. Like somebody else is, or you know, or whatever. Um but they're basically saying that because we have the multiverse opened up now, that this is it's it's Doctor Doom, but it's technically a variant of Tony Stark who became Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man. Which I don't hate that. I don't hate it, but but why?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm not gonna be able to get behind that. No way. If that if that's actually what it ends up being, it's gonna be it's gonna be a terrible movie. I think that there's something they could do with it again.
SPEAKER_02The Russo brothers are also doing that one.
SPEAKER_00No, I don't know. That's that's that's fucking nuts. Yeah, I need to also sit down. This is news to me. I need to look into this more because Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I also need to sit down and I need to actually give uh Fantastic Four first steps. I need to give it like an actual try. I haven't watched it all the way through yet.
SPEAKER_00People are high on it. Really? People are high, yeah. Four first steps.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I need to watch it. I'm I don't fucking like Pedro Pascal, dude. You know my feelings about Pedro Pascal. You know that he just behind the scenes did look before there was there was some stuff using his anxiety as an excuse.
SPEAKER_00Some stuff behind the scenes. Yeah, for real. With that one, there were some first steps that came out of that one.
SPEAKER_02Okay, but what about so I again real life first steps? I don't know. I don't know anything about it yet. There's no information on it. They just know that they're making Secret Wars. So I I told you, like, I want Secret Wars to be Spider-Man and you know, leading and and Hulk and have you know however many other characters, if you bring the X-Men into it, have Cyclops, you know, you don't have those be the new tiples for exactly the next era. Exactly. And if they want to just wipe it out and they're like, hey, this is how we're introducing X-Men as like what we've been talking about, how we want them to look, because I think that that would that make you excited for the future of because right now I'm not excited for the future of comic book movies. I'm just excited with I'm just happy with what we have. Yeah, you know, it's been great, Ron. Yeah, it has. It's like it's gonna be the end of an era. But the start if you start a new era with comic book accurate X-Men, I'm gonna be really excited for the for the future of comic book movies.
SPEAKER_00And I think that's the kind of thing you need. You you need you need uh just a massive shift, yeah. Like something like that, where we just move into you know what what Engly was trying to do in 2003, right?
SPEAKER_02I'm really happy that you said that. Are we being sarcastic? No, I'm serious. Okay, thank you. I'm really happy you said that because I agree with you, right?
SPEAKER_00Like Engly was a little before but before the times because what what we needed at that time was actually blockbuster action movies, yeah. We needed And Hulk 2003 was not a blockbuster action movie.
SPEAKER_02Well, it was being made before Raimi Spider-Man. So like it was already in motion to be made, it was already filmed, they had cut it and everything, and then Sam Raimi and Spider-Man came out, changed comic book movies forever, and they didn't have time to do anything else, you know. But I think that if if it were the case that that was flopped, where you know they got to see Spider-Man and they were like, okay, we're gonna make you know a Hulk movie, it would be a lot better, of course. It's an interesting what if it definitely would be, bro. It definitely would be. What if what about uh DCU? Have you seen Superman?
SPEAKER_002025?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, okay. I definitely think that you should. Have you seen anything on Supergirl that just came out? Have you seen anything on it? No, it looks bad.
SPEAKER_00I yeah, I I would probably just assume that it was gonna be bad.
SPEAKER_02I I think that we're gonna see, truthfully, I think that we're gonna see the same thing kind of happen with the DCU that we've already seen happen, unless well, the Superman of 2025 did did good. David Corn Sweat is a good Superman. Okay, you know, um, and then homeboy from Nosferatu, who plays uh Hutter.
SPEAKER_00What's his name? I was because he he's he hasn't had any really big Nosferatu was his first big role. What?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, yeah, no, dude, no.
SPEAKER_00Or am I thinking about somebody else?
SPEAKER_02You're probably thinking about somebody else.
SPEAKER_00Hutter.
SPEAKER_02Hutter. He's uh Thomas Hutter, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's his first big he hasn't been in anything big since before that.
SPEAKER_02Dude, yeah, he's a bigger actor. No, what is what else has he been in? Nicholas Holt. He was in Renfield with uh Nicolas Cage. It's a Dracula movie. He was in an X-Men movie, he played Beast. Really? He he played X he played uh Beast in X-Men first class.
SPEAKER_00Okay, because he did look like vaguely familiar. But I couldn't I couldn't think of any other role he'd had.
SPEAKER_02He plays Lex Luther in Superman 2025.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, okay, so I will say that it's probably he's a bald Lex Luther in 2025. He pulls it off.
SPEAKER_00Interesting.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he pulls it off. He does really good, actually.
SPEAKER_00I'm not really seeing it right now.
SPEAKER_02Nicholas Holt is up and coming. Like he's gonna be That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00He's up and coming.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he's gonna be a big star. I do think you're right that maybe Nasferatu is the biggest thing that he's done.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But he he's been he's been being in a lot recently. He was in a movie a while ago called Warm Bodies.
SPEAKER_00Warm Bodies that was the big one where it was like that kind of that was his that was his first movie that you would have seen him in. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Because it was like the probably the first one that like ended up in theaters and then he was in first class. Yeah. But I I think that Superman 2025 was good. I think that they should have made it a little bit more mature in some areas. Um, if they stick with that, it's great, but I don't like an again, dude. I don't like anybody's fan cast. Like the person that and this is another thing maybe I should like just shut the fuck up about and wait. I don't like it when they're like, oh dude, this person might be Batman, or they you know they're gonna cast Batman. We've had the same thing happen over and over and over again. When Michael Keaton got cast as Batman, everybody was like, Mr. Mom, like how are you gonna fucking be Batman? Sure. Ends up being the best Batman, you know. Um when they cast Heath Ledger, the guy that was in the fucking gay cowboy movie, like, yeah, we're gonna fucking do it. And I think that it was more because you know, we talked last episode about Lord's Dog Town. Yeah, you know, it's a good role, you know, and then now he's the best joker, best performance to have ever happened.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, one of the if not the best comic book villain ever. Yeah, so probably probably the best comic book villain, definitely ever.
SPEAKER_02And I think you know, you know who else is getting up there for me the more that I watch it? Thanos is a dope villain.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that he's really the scale of Thanos as a villain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And he was on to something as well, you know.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, dude. I I've heard that, I've heard that position too. Like, people that are like, yeah, dude, but was Thanos right? Like, wouldn't it be you know great? I mean, I live in Houston, so it would be great to get rid of half of that traffic, dude. Like, honestly.
SPEAKER_00And also have the cities are just too bad, too damn big, man. Too busy.
SPEAKER_02Gotta get rid of half of it. Well, then you gotta also go, like, you know, you could go too, and then you think about like your days at work and you're like, yeah, that's fine. I'm done. What about your kids? You're like, they'll be all right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, hopefully one will go with me. Right. You meant like both of you just yeah. Well, it's a good thing you got a godfather, godmother, you know, established. So hopefully one of us is still around. Yeah, maybe. Surely one out of four.
SPEAKER_02You know, speaking of the like so but he did do it. He did do it, he did do it. Was it not convenient the people that went and was it stayed? I know, right? It was kind of like there's a there's a joke in uh Deadpool and Wolverine. I think it's a joke that he told m multiple times. I think that he tells it the best in the first one where he knocks on the door to the X-Men uh university. Yeah, and uh he's like he's like it's crazy that I yeah, he's like, it's crazy. I only ever see two of you. It's like the studio didn't want to pay for any more X-Men. And that's what Infinity War feels like. It's like Snipers, okay, who the fuck can we drop off the payroll?
SPEAKER_00Budget gone.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for real. I mean, they had plenty of it to go, right? Yeah, that's yeah. Well, hey, you want to get into Defend It?
SPEAKER_00Defend it. Alright. This week it's me on the hot seat. This is uh a movie that the internet has spent about 30 years using as a punchline. Batman and Robin. I give a seven and I will defend every bit of it. You know, I think that and this is something where you can probably agree somewhat because uh the reason it's a seven for me is that it it is just I rewatched it last week and it's it's so lighthearted. It's so enjoyable. It's just fun to watch, man. You know, and that and that's kind of the whole point to it. It's not the dark knight. No, it's not trying to be the dark knight. You know, the nipples on the suits, the the 19 city 60s Adam West, you know, esque thing that they have going on, the neon, yeah, the ridiculous lines from Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze, which by the way, he he got paid $25 million of the $125 million budget for this movie. Oh fuck.
SPEAKER_02Hey, listen, I Arnold Arnold might be my favorite part of this movie.
SPEAKER_00His ice skating henchman. You can't forget those.
SPEAKER_02You know, I haven't rated this movie yet. I'm gonna rate it live on here. Okay, you know, so I'm gonna walk through the steps once once you're done defending it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um I I think I think George Clooney was actually a great funny man, Batman. He wasn't a great Batman, but he was a great funny man as Batman. Uh the the the George Clooney, Batman, you know, Robin, uh, the the way they interacted, I thought was great. Um I think there was too many people in the movie, right? And Bain was terrible. Yeah, Bane's terrible. Poison Ivy. Not as hot as I remembered. You know, when I watched it as a kid, I was like, fuck. Like, you know, Poison Ivy could throw me some of those kisses.
SPEAKER_02Poison Ivy was like that's the fucking.
SPEAKER_00I'd totally make out with Poison Ivy as a kid.
SPEAKER_02I'd be dead.
SPEAKER_00Poison? Yeah, whatever. Yeah. You know, I'd be pulling that Robin, but without the plastic lips.
SPEAKER_02I just I think that you've got a good argument with the nostalgia, because it's a very nostalgic movie. I mean, like, technically, Batman and Robin, like George Clooney is my Batman, technically, because it's the one I grew up watching the most. Yeah. And yeah, I mean, Poison Ivy, this is the first time I realized I had a penis. I was like, I was like, there it is, dude.
SPEAKER_00You know, I had it on VHS and I was like, yeah, we're throwing that bitch in on repeat, you know. You know, porn before you knew about porn, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, for real. I mean, sometimes George Clinton, I forget he's in there. That's how fucking forgettable he is. Fucking horrible, dude. But man, poison ivy, ooh, I remember her, that's for sure. Something that people I think forget about this. I want to ask you about it. Those suits at the end.
SPEAKER_00Suits at the end.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, the suits that they wear at the end, where Batgirl finally comes into it. Shit, I don't I don't even know. Look it up, look at different suits? Yeah, look at the suits that are in Batman and Robin.
SPEAKER_00They're different than than the nipple suits?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're kind of like gunmetal and silver. I think they they almost look uh they're fucking aluminum basically. But it's like right at the end of the movie.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. No I know what Chamo.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they're terrible. Yeah, they're pretty bad. They look horrible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. I I I know exactly what Chamo know. They do look horrible.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And that's how they cap off their movie, dude, is them looking like fucking bozos.
SPEAKER_00Why why do they even need to change the original suits in the movie were better than this shit? To sell toy this movie is to sell toys. And that's the big knock on it, right?
SPEAKER_02Well, it's very toyetic. Yeah. But I mean, I don't mind that. So is Return of the Jedi, and I'm I'm higher on Return of the Jedi.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would hope so.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So what's it get for you?
SPEAKER_02What does Batman and Robin get for me? Yep. That's all you're gonna defend it on.
SPEAKER_00It's a great watch. It's enjoyable, it's fun, it's lighthearted. Yeah. I had I I enjoyed it. I thought the puns were fun. You know, I thought the watching the ice skating henchman skate across the ice that Mr. Freezer just created was a fucking hoot.
SPEAKER_02I would say that I'm gonna I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna rate it obviously out of 10. I'm gonna do it right now. I'm gonna put it as that I like it. Because I do like it. Right? Yeah. Okay. I'm gonna give it a half star that I can actually feel the emotion from Arnold Schwarzenegger when he's talking about his wife. That part of it's good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You know? I think that's good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh so what about bat nipples? Like, is is that like really that big of a thing for you? Not only is there bat nipples, there's a belly button.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's it's great, dude. I they should bring back bat nipples. Chill. They should have nipples on every Batman suit. So is I think they should have nipples on every superhero suit. Honestly. Like, you know, you should just like constantly be seeing up everything that you could see, you know, like and the the outlined abs. Those should be on every superhero suit. No, you know, like imagine Thor, you know, with outlines of abs, you know, like almost like he's like shaved them in.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but it's supposed to be his. Yeah. Like that's why all those comic books have abs. Like comic book characters.
SPEAKER_00Because his armor has to accommodate his abs. No, it's just his abs. You know what I mean? So same with superhero or superman.
SPEAKER_02Okay, what do you think about the opening montage where you see Superman had nipples?
SPEAKER_00Like see Bat Butt? You'd you'd think Superman was cooler if you had if he had nipples. Honestly. I mean, come on.
SPEAKER_02I could get behind all the the women characters though, like two-dimensional titty women.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they don't they don't give uh they you know, honestly though, that's a that's a valid point. There is something wrong with the way they're portraying female superheroes right now.
SPEAKER_02Right now? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like in what? They don't have any tits. They they like, you know, it's it's like there's nothing there. Yeah, in the like it should be more anime-esque or comic book-esque.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, in the comic books, they are very like they're busty. Yeah, they are, but as a rule. Do you think that that's intimidating? I think so.
SPEAKER_00Do I think it's intimidating?
SPEAKER_02As a superhero.
SPEAKER_00Like if I like if I were a villain and I and I had superwoman, super girl, whatever they call her, yeah, coming at me and she had big old breasts. Yeah, I think that'd be intimidating.
SPEAKER_02And she'd you're just like begging her, please beat the fuck out.
SPEAKER_00I'm even thinking about poisoning Ivy, bro.
SPEAKER_02It's like you fucking walk up and you're like chick superhero walks up on you, and they just say, like, what do you want? Like, how do you want this to go? You know, like we do this the easy way or the hard way. I'm like, I'm kind of favoring the hard way right now. Straight up, I want you to tie me up and beat the shit on me.
SPEAKER_00You know, hey, I've never tried pegging, but maybe you're the one.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, bro. Alright. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think the last time that we saw, you know, I that we saw like good boobs and nips was Spider-Man 2001. Or yeah, the Raimi Spider Man. You got cursed and dunce in the rain.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but those weren't like superhero nips. Like I'm talking about, they could have been. I'm talking like the suit has to be engineered.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I agree with you. There's nothing flattering, there's nothing flattering about Gwyneth Paltro in the fucking Iron Man suit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Like there's nothing Or uh you know female Iron Man and I and Iron Man. Uh not Iron Man, uh Thor Love and Thunder, Jane.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, I mean she's not hot. Nah, dude. I and she she is hot.
SPEAKER_00She in real life.
SPEAKER_02Natalie Portman's hot.
SPEAKER_00But she's not hot in the film. Yeah, no. She's not hot as female Thor.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they take it away.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_02I would but that's what I was saying about um Thor Ragnarok. The villain in there. She's sneaky. She's not hot though.
SPEAKER_00She's sneaky bad, dude.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00You know, she's got she's got cute cougar energy for sure. Because she she feels a little older. She feels like, but but it's kind of weird. Because it's her sister.
SPEAKER_02Well, we haven't seen Madam Webb. Sydney Sweeney's in Madam Webb.
SPEAKER_00I'm not I'm not as high on Sydney Sweeney. I'm gonna be honest.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I'm not as high on Sydney Sweeney, but Sydney Sweeney from the neck down in a Spider-Man crossing. I could get down. I could get down with. Maybe we need to watch that. Yeah, that's okay. Back to Batman and Robinson. I mean, she had she had nipples. No, no, no, no. Uh Batgirl. Even in that picture. She got full like breast cups, but I just don't know.
SPEAKER_00Batgirl was not hot.
SPEAKER_02No, not at all. She wasn't hot even as like remember when she shows up and Robin's like, oh my god, who are you? I'm like, bro, no, dude, that girl's ugly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You're not that into her. Get out of there. Even Poise and Ivy. Even Poison Ivy on Rewatch. I was like, I thought she was hotter. I don't know. I don't I don't know what it was when I was. There's parts of it seven years old.
SPEAKER_02This movie, like especially like when you have Batman with his bat nips and everything out, and like Poison Ivy's like laying all over him, touching him. Like that's a very like sexual scene for kids to see. Um, I'm gonna give it another star for that. I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna give it uh another point for for the sexual tension between um Uma Thurman and everybody else in this movie. Um, I'm gonna give it, you know, another point for the nostalgia. You know, I I can't say that I don't revisit this movie. I think about it a lot. The poster. I'll give it another one for that.
SPEAKER_00The poster was cooler than that.
SPEAKER_02Where are you at with it? You're at an eight out of ten seven out of ten. Seven out of ten. Okay, not quite there yet. Um trying to think. I don't think the Robin suit was that, you know, dude, the logo. The the Batman and the Robin logo pressed together. Yeah, that's just pretty cool. Pretty hard. Yeah, I'm giving another one for that, another one for that. And another thing that I really like about this movie, I like how it starts with the Warner Brothers logo and it turns into the bat symbol and freezes.
SPEAKER_00That's worth a star for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. No, do you think not? Not worth a star, but you don't think it is? It's one of the best parts of the movie. If you want to give a star for that, yeah, I support it. Um I think I'm done. It's worth like what six stars? Yeah, I'm at three stars on Letterboxd, so I'm gonna go six out of ten. Six out of ten.
SPEAKER_00I think it's valid.
SPEAKER_02It's bad though. I give it six out of ten because I liked it as a kid. I haven't rewatched it super, super recently, but I I know what it is. It's hard watch, dude. No, I'm giving it a six ten out of like my my personal backlog.
SPEAKER_00I just rewatched it in the past two weeks and it was enjoyable. No. I promise you.
SPEAKER_02If you watch if you watch it now, you'll no, and I think that not just on nostalgia everybody is very toyetic as well.
SPEAKER_00It's definitely I'll tell you this though. It's an 11% on Rotten Tomatoes, it's better than that by a lot.
SPEAKER_02I I don't know how to do the Rotten Tomato scale. I just know when they they put shit too high.
SPEAKER_00Well, 11% is too low. For sure. Batman and Robin, we both agree, is underrated.
SPEAKER_02It it is underrated. It is, but Batman Forever is better.
SPEAKER_00Batman Forever is better.
SPEAKER_02Dude, I can't I can't live with myself because you're right. The Warner Brothers thing isn't enough. It's just not, dude. What if, dude, we didn't even talk about this? The surfing out of the pod and they surf through the air. Dude, this is a two. It's a four, it's a four out of ten, dog. It's a four out of ten. That's that's where I rest. Four out of ten for Batman and Robin. Fuck, dude. And I say that liking this movie.
SPEAKER_00And that still puts it as underrated, I'd say. Yeah. You know, because four out of ten is better than I think a lot of people give it for.
SPEAKER_02I would say Batman Forever is more is closer, is like that seven, seven, seven and a half range for me than uh than Batman and Robin is for sure. I think Batman Forever is underrated.
SPEAKER_00I agree. I think it's also a seven, I think it's right there in the same range as Batman and Robin.
SPEAKER_02Batman and Robin's whole dude, compared to Batman Forever, Batman Forever's better. It's it's better. In a lot of ways.
SPEAKER_00It has things going for it. Val Kil Kilmer. They both have things going for it, you know.
SPEAKER_02Val Kilmer's much better than it.
SPEAKER_00Does Batman Forever have nipples on the suits? Yes.
SPEAKER_02Did it? I think it's definit it's technically the same suit, except George Clooney's is all this really dark blue. And um Val Kilmer's is basically George Clooney's, but it's black with the yellow still. So it's still keeping the yellow from the Burton. Remember, they weren't trying to go too too far from from Burton's suit, but they they did. Okay, if it is nipples, I might be able to. And you want to talk about sexy dude? Nicole Kidman in Batman and Robin. Oh my god. No, no, not Batman and Robin. Batman Forever. Oh fuck, dude. Oh, that was when Nicole Kidman was she was smoking in that movie, dude. Yeah. And you get the you get Robin in a good way. You get two pretty good villains. I'm I'm I'm lower on um Two Face. I'm higher on the Riddler. I think Jim Carrey as the Riddler is pretty iconic.
SPEAKER_00See, and that's that's part of my problem with Batman Forever is Jim Carrey. I wanted to love as the Riddler.
SPEAKER_02It seems like a good fit. It's like what we were talking about.
SPEAKER_00It feels like it should be perfect, but it's it just in practice it wasn't though.
SPEAKER_02But I think that that's what pushed Batman and Robin to be worse because they were like, well, look how toyetic this is because we have Jim Carrey. I still think it's much better performance than people give it credit for. If you hire Jim Carrey to do that, that's what he's gonna be.
SPEAKER_00I just felt like he could have been better.
SPEAKER_02And I don't think it's bad.
SPEAKER_00As Riddler. And I think that there's a genuinely I think he's a better Riddler than 2022 Riddler.
SPEAKER_02I agree. Well, because 2022 is just the Zodiac. I honestly, dude, I think I'm gonna take Batman 2022 off my top 10.
SPEAKER_00I think it's I think it should be.
SPEAKER_02I think I'm gonna take it off.
SPEAKER_00I that's that's my thing with 2022, is and and maybe, you know, and then we talked about this, you know, but Penguin I liked in 2022 a lot.
SPEAKER_02That's the part of the movie you liked.
SPEAKER_00Riddler I didn't like as much. Well, because he's the zodiac killer, you've already seen and so with that, but I agree though, it wouldn't have worked if Penguin had been the main villain.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_00Penguin can't be the main villain of the movie, so you have to have something like the Riddler, but the Riddler just didn't, just didn't do it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I agree. But I think if you're gonna think about a Riddler, I think that you should think about Jim Carrey. And there's a genuinely scary part in Batman Forever at the end, where uh Nicole Kidman goes to Arkham to confront him, yeah, like ask him, and he was like, You said you knew who Batman is because she never found out, and she was like, Who is Batman? And he's like whispering to her, like it's creepy because you can't see him, and he's like, Can you keep a secret? Like he's like being really creepy, and then he comes out and his like head is all like wrapped up and his clothes are all like ripped to shreds, and he's like, I'm Batman, and he starts like flapping his fucking uh you know the his prison outfit, and they play this like really ominous music, it still kind of gives me the fucking creeps.
SPEAKER_00I'll need to rewatch that scene.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's pretty good. I actually uh, real quick before we wrap up, I wanted to kind of go back over because I think that comic book movies are so big, and I think that we got a lot of enlightening information going through this. I moved Batman off of my top 10. I actually moved it lower than Deadpool and Wolverine and Spider-Man 2, which are at my 11 and 12 spot right now, uh, which moved Spider-Man Homecoming to my 10, and then it moved everything else that I was already on there up.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Yeah, and Spider-Man was woefully neglected from my top 10, as we discussed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you definitely need and you need to you need to watch Deadpool. Yeah. The first Deadpool.
SPEAKER_00Well, I've seen Deadpool. You just need to re-watch it. I've seen Deadpool and Deadpool in Wolverine, and Deadpool probably deserves a role there. You know, Deadpool actually, I think, in and to that point, uh from a comedic standpoint, I mean it has to be the best comedic superhero movie ever.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think that it right now, because of Deadpool.
SPEAKER_00Find maybe Batman and Robin.
SPEAKER_02No. I mean, it is funny. It's funny to watch.
SPEAKER_00Batman or Robin's almost as funny as to watch as the room. You treated as a comedy. Tommy was though. Tommy was though as Robin.
SPEAKER_02No, I think that Deadpool and Wolverine, it's uh it's really good. It has a it's a lot more jokey. Like, I I remember going to the theater, and in like the first couple seconds of him talking, like when he's digging Logan up, he goes, Bingo. Yahtzee, you're like, you didn't need to do that, dude. You could have just left it at bingo. Like, yeah, it was a little too much to add that yeah, little extra thing in there. And I think that that's why people are starting to go, uh, it's it's too much now. But as the movie went on, it gets a lot better. It's really funny. A lot of people are low on Deadpool 2. I do think that it is the weakest out of those three, but there's still a lot of good funny parts in there. Yeah, yeah. Like when he's fighting cable in the jail, yeah, and he goes, Who the fuck are you? And he goes, I'm Batman. Fucking keeps fighting.
SPEAKER_00That's just hysterical, dude. Well, Ryan Reynolds is just an all-time funny man. Yeah. So anything he's gonna touch is gonna be funny.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, I think that I think that he's meta.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Ryan Reynolds meta. Like, that's the whole point that Deadpool and Wolverine is the way that it is, is because he is he's going, you don't like my fucking shtick? It's all I can do, so I'm gonna continue to do it.
SPEAKER_00It's Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00And and you see it all the way through.
SPEAKER_02Well, what how how'd it go, bro?
SPEAKER_00Well, Civil War was our start. Kept it at an 8 over here. Yeah. It's a good Avengers movie. You weren't into the whole it's an Avengers movie thing and stayed on Captain America movie can't be good, you know, some kind of nonsense. It's better. Right. Uh no MCU movie is a 10 out of 10 for me. So fight me on that one. Uh Infinity Saga, we agree, is the best comic book run ever. And also we're ready for a tent, which is okay. And uh Batman and Robin, we both agree is underrated.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I do think it's underrated. Rewatch it. You're gonna have uh you're gonna have fun either way you spin it. It's bad.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I'm interested to hear, I've got five out of my top ten comic book movies as MCU, although it's subject to change, and we we had some conversations about that. Let us know how many of your top ten are MCU piece. And uh feel free to roast me for the Batman and Robin being a seven, because I deserve it. Uh, I'll take it. You know, the Iceman cometh.
SPEAKER_02All right, y'all. Next week we're gonna be talking about horror movies. So get ready for your hot takes on that. I think the star gap on there is a little bit interesting. I don't want to say too much, but uh it's got to do with our our boy Hannibal Lecter. So tune in for that when we go over go over some horror movies. Thank you guys for joining.
SPEAKER_00See you next week.
