John Dougherty

John Dougherty is a Catholic writer, educator, and dad based in the Philadelphia area. He writes the biweekly Catholic Movie Club column for America Magazine, the Jesuit Review, and serves as one of the magazine's primary film critics. He is the author of Finding God in All Films: A Contemplative Approach to Watching Movies(Orbis Books, November 2026) and his work has appeared at the National Catholic Reporter, Busted Halo, and the Jesuit Media Lab.
