Episode 32: As I look back on my career of 22-years in the heavy-duty parts industry I can now see the impact specific educators and mentors had on the trajectory of my career. Without those people I wouldn’t be where I am today.

Encouraging young talented people to join the heavy-duty industry and make a career as a technician has never been more important.

Our guest today is one of those great people who really cares about the industry and wants to help young people make a career in heavy-duty. Eric Rubio is a Heavy-Duty Truck Instructor at the Fresno Unified School District.

Question 1: Have you always been an instructor and why are you focused on heavy-duty?

Question 2: What do you enjoy the most about teaching?

Question 3: Tell us something about your students that may surprise us?

Question 4: What trend in the industry do we need to pay attention to?

Question 5: What can the fleets and repair shops that employ heavy-duty technicians do a better job at when it comes to encouraging young people to join the industry?

Question 6: If there is one thing you want the listeners to take away from today’s conversation, what is that one thing?
